We have received your complaintThe customer made a purchase on 03/for one background reportThen a different background report was ran under the membership for $The membership was usedPer our Terms of Use that is agreed on at the time of purchase we do not issue refundsWe will no be issuing a refund for $

The customer agreed to the trial membership during the purchase and did not make an attempt to cancel until 06/02/Per our Terms of Use, no further refunds will be given

This is the first time I can recall paying too much for any product or service and not being compensated for the overcharge I normally look closely at terms of payment to make sure the product or service matches the payment I used the Peoplefinder service one time and was willing to pay the expected cost of $which showed on my Visa bill as two separate charges of $and $ It was clearly not my intention to sign up for an ongoing $monthly service From their response and the presentation of their payment terms, the intention of Peoplefinders is to trick individuals into signing up for the $monthly billingPlease let me know what steps are necessary to recover the full $I plan to lodge a complaint with the Sacramento District Attorney regardless of whether or not Peoplefinders refunds the full $Thank you again for your response I will be watching closely for any communication on the subject [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because:I was called by the business and told that they would send to me the sources by email which they have not done as yet which is different than the reply to you

I am rejecting this response for this reason:Although I am grateful that the Revdex.com’s influence has helped me to get a refund of some of my money (four out of months, and another month as a direct response to my complaint to the company), I believe the company is misleading customers by not making it clear that a subscription is being taken out and not just a one-time service To be as objective as possible about this complaint, after cancelling the "subscription" I was not aware I had initiated, I went back to the PeopleFinders web site to try the process again from the beginning Try as I might, I was NOT able to find ANY note that by initiating a search for information an annual subscription was about to be committed to No tiny fine print, no check box, NO evidence that a subscription was in the works and not a "free" individual person search I have come away with the belief that the company is participating in deceptive practices that are considerable worse then bait and switch practices In fact, their practices seem to be fraudulent As such, I think the proper reaction from the company should be a full refund of all fees improperly charged

I am rejecting this response because: The terms weren't clearly explained at the beginningThe report has many errors and why am I paying for an incorrect report?

The customer was not told that we can email sources of public informationWe only report what is listed in public recordsThe information can be removed from our website under Contact Us at www.peoplefinders.com but this does not remove this information off of public records

I am rejecting this response because:The statement that they "clearly and conspicuously" relate that my credit card will be billed until I cancel is a load of horse crapIf it was there it was not clear apparent that I was signing up for anything more than the limit three months that I thought I wasI cannot recreate the sign up page as an attachment to prove this but they are relying on this deception to bill people for services that are NOT clear and conspicuousEven if I don't get my money back, they should be reported to the attorney general for deceptive business practices

I am rejecting this response because: bait and switchThe merchant claimed to definitively have the information strictly to get the paymentOnce the merchant got payment, suddenly they claim they are being "paid to do a search." They need to inform the public BEFORE the public submits payment, they are doing the search- not get payment by claiming to have informationThis is fraudI am going to contact an attorney to see about a class action law suitThe site is set up so that you do an initial search yourself submitting name and reverse phone information and peoplefinders.com will say whether or not they have the information requestedIn this particular case, they indicated the information requested would be given once payment is madeSPECIFICALLY STATED: WE HAVE THE INFORMATION YOU REQUESTEDI then made paymentThey then said, " We do not have the information you requested"This is a no-brainer bait and switchBased on this, I want my refund, and this site needs to be shut down for FRAUD
