This is a well documented SCAMI wish law enforcement could get involved dba Abe's of Maine sells products onlineThey advertised a TV, LG Model [redacted] for $2,on their websiteI ordered that TV and received an invoice for that amount plus shippingA store representative called the next day and told me the TV was the "International" Version and was technically inferiorIf I wanted the US Version I had to pay $moreI agreed based solely on his statements that there are Versions of Model number [redacted] , an Inferior "International" one and a US oneBeing suspicious, I checked with the manufacturer, LG and received written confirmation there is only Version of Model [redacted] , a US VersionAfter calling my credit card company to stop the charge, they said I could not and I explained the charge was fraudulent based on a lie to meThe store representative refused to honor the invoice confirming the advertised price and again lied about the inferior version being so

Abe's of Maine is without any doubt whatsoever a bait and switch, using fraudulent and dishonest sales tacticsThey advertise on their website an LG 86SJTV as a USA model with USA warranty at lowest price availableAfter placing an order, they email to indicate I must call to validate the orderCalling results in reaching the same person (calls himself Jeff in an email and Steve on the phone) regardless of what option you select on the phoneHe then indicates that I have ordered a foreign version of the TV (240V vs 120V), but that he can get me a US version (for only $more)I explain that I can purchase the exact same TV from Costco for $less than he is offering and he simply curses CostcoHe then "ups the ante" by offering white glove delivery and a wall mount which he insists is worth far more than the $less Costco offer Anyway, long story short, I express interest in the 240V TV at advertised price, but would like a picture of the model number and voltage sticker from the back of the TV firstJeff/Steve then begins cursing up a storm and says that he is cancelling my order since I don't really want to buy one(Note: I was trying to buy five.) Call is disconnected and I call back to ensure order is indeed cancelled, choosing customer service option this timeJeff/Steve answers again, begins cursing immediately and threatens to either go ahead and place the order or charge my card a cancellation fee if I don't stop harassing him I immediately call Citi Cards fraud department and am relieved that those threats were a smokescreenMastercard is now aware and said Abe's of Maine would be held fully responsible in anything was charged They (loosely used term since it appears to be only one person) are liars and cheatsAvoid at all cost

RevDex.com: This is an update to the complaint filed -- [redacted] -- I have just found the warranty certificate in question buried under packaging around another product sent from Abe's of Maine, so the situation of the missing warranty has been resolved and you may drop this case. Very sorry for the confusion and any trouble this may have caused you. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Regards, [redacted]

We are rejecting this rejection due to fact we are willing to work with the customer which we stated previously.Abe's of Maine honor all offers posted on the websiteAll offers are bonafide offer to sellSince the original order was cancelled I can not reinstate itWe do not store credit card on file for security reasonsA new order would need to be placedWe can ship out right awayI would personally follow up to make sure the experience is exactly what is expectedThe prices on electronics change daily due to manufacturers promotionsWe would allow him to use coupon code [redacted] that would discount 2% off the online orderThat coupon is usually only for wire transfersWe would allow that coupon to be used for credit card purchasesThis would allow the price to almost the same as the original order that was cancelledI would need the order number emailed to be after is placed so I can allow the [redacted] coupon to apply. We look forward to a new order placed so we can full fill the orderWe would through in white glove service and free hdmi cable to satisfy the customer.Thank You [redacted]

Original review: Sept29, I purchased a camcorder on Abe’s of Maine scam website which said it was in stockAfter doing a checkout I was in communication with the company about related aspectsI was told the camcorder was no longer in stock but they did have the same model with bundled items at a higher price pointI mentioned I could not afford the extra amountThey offered to drop the priceI asked for an email stating what I would be gettingI told them I would need some time to considerThey offered a free filterI asked for a confirmation email to that confirmed the price they quotedI was then told that I had said I wanted the camcorder and they had already billed the credit card for the item price a couple thousandNote they have a restocking feeI was told to send the item back after requesting the order be canceled and that I had not said yesThat's when things got really bad I was told did I want to listen to the recording saying I hadI asked for the supervisorThe sales agent Steve put me on hold briefly and said the supervisor had listened to the recording and agreed I had confirmedI said I would call the credit card company and have that reversedThey said they would send the recording to the credit card companyI eventually hung upThey called me back saying we got disconnectedThey attempted to sell me, I threatened bad reviews and said to cancel the orderI hung up, they kept calling back and each time tried offering a lower price and a few more items to help me with the current experienceI told them during this not to call me back and to cancel the order By this time I was seeing red and on the verge of a migraineOn the last call, the supervisor called me and tried to sell meI mentioned how I was a filmmaker, knew people in the media and did they want a backlash on the internetAfter that only did the supervisor hang upI wasn’t sure at that point if the credit card had been billed for the online order and the forced sale on the bundleBest case for them it would have been several hundred on a re-stocking fee had I been a push overIn all my years of ordering online, Abe’s of Maine was the worst ever experienceNo matter what the item or the price, DO NOT buy anything from Abe’s of Maine, a scam company from hell

On 11/24/I ordered a Nikon Dcamera body from Abe's of Maine through their online portalOn 12/3/I received a call call from Ted, a sales representative with Abe'sTed was checking with me to see if I was aware that I had purchased the "international model" of the Nikon Dand made it known to me that this camera would not be serviced by Nikon USA if something went wrong so "today" I could not only upgrade to the US model, he would give me free shipping, for only $more than then originally advertised price on $After much discussion, even though I was quite leery of what seemed to me as bait and switch (which I actually said to Ted and he replied "Why would a company that has been in business for years do bait and switch?", I agreed to the new purchase price for a new Nikon DUS model as it was still at a discounted price of $ This is a gift for my daughter who as a professional photographer needs a good bacamera body, this is a good choice

I am in the process of purchasing a camera from Abes of Maine When I called, I was told the camera that I wanted to purchase on-line was a foreign model They agreed to get me a "usa" model for $more After agreeing to the credit card charge, over the phone, I went back to their website to see where I had overlooked the "usa" model Nowhere on their website does it state there's a distinction between a "foreign" model or a "usa" model Then, after seeing their F rating on the Revdex.com, I tried calling back to cancel my order, and I haven't been able to reach them by phone No one will pick up the phone or call me back! My purchase is currently still pending, so I'm trying to cancel my order, before my credit card even gets charged; but I can't get a hold of anyone?!?

bait and switch I tried oredering an advertised sharp 90 tv on thge 16th of january 2016 was called the next day saying tv was sold out .so on the 30th of january I saw another add of theres advertiseing the same tv promoting it as a super bowl special come on what dose it take to put these jokers out of busisness

Hi,I am sorry you wanted to cancel your orderYour order was refunded and cancelled in fullPlease allow 3-business days for the refund to appearThank You [redacted] ***West Park Electronics [redacted] ***

Ordered a Samsung TV on line, they then sent an email to call and verify the order, when I called they said I had ordered a commercial version(never stated in there website) and that another dollars would be required for a residential versionI cancelled the order right there on the phoneAbsolutely awful way to conduct businessI would advise all to shop any where else but Abes of Maine I had purchased TV's from them prior to the change of ownership in July w/o a problem , it appears the ownership led to a change in honesty and customer service

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Your story doesn't reflect the actual situationI was never satisfied with your solutions, never accepted the $but saw it on my account as a refund, it doesn't mean anything to meFYI, I tried to contact [redacted] (the person who perform the repair) from the next day of the repair, no answer!!I tried to contact you, the hold was very long and I stated before, I really don't have time for thisThe TV is not functioning properly, the previous problem is solved but now we have a picture with a ripple effect which is very annoying Regards, [redacted]

Do not buy from Abe'sTheir web site services and practices are deceivingThey advertised a lens on sale for March MadnessNothing in the description identifies it as a "Grey Market or International Lens." I purchased online and got a call telling me my card was declinedI have verified with my bank that the card was NEVER declined for any amountThe caller then told me the lens was not in stock but he could give me a deal on a USA lens and through in some free shipping and lens filtersThese items (except for free day shipping) were already included in my original purchaseI called the following day to cancel my order and was yelled at by at Stephan and told my bank was lying to me about the declined amountsWhy would my bank lie to me??!! I have since verified it with my bankThey told me the lens had already shipped by am the next day even though my account showed it had not shipped yet so they would not let me cancel the purchaseThey have a 15% "restocking fee" that would have cost me $if I do send the lens backStephen gave me a $refund on the lens to appease meI appreciate that but it did not satisfy my feelings of being deceived by Abe's of Maine
Additionally I bought a memory card holder that was on sale, marked down from $to $The photo is of a hard cover plastic card holder that will hold up to cardsWhat I received is a pleather card holder that will hold cardsA made in China (tag in it, see photo) that "MIGHT" cost $not on sale
Not only is their staff incredibly rude but they practice bait and switch with their customers

I placed an order online for a digital camera, Fujifilm XT2, part number ***, and a lensThe retail of the camera body was $The sale price was $I placed my online order for $I was called almost immediately to discuss my orderI was highly encouraged to buy a high-priced insurance policy, which I didI was told that the camera did not come with a battery or charging cordI was told that the package that included the battery would be $extra or $I knew that I would need the battery and assumed that they were telling me the truthI was out walking my dogs at the time and had to take their word for itAs soon as I hung up, I realized that I should have double checked the part numberI Immediately tried to get a hold of their customer service departmentThat department was closed until the next MondayI sent an email to the customer service department right away complaining of the bait and switch and the high-pressure tactics to buy insuranceI hear

This is one of the biggest rip offs on the web They purposely advertise prices so they can get you to order and then you are FORCED to call and "verify" the order There is actually no verification needed, they make you call on EVERY single order so they can try and sell you a warranty or insuranceIf you do not pay the additional money (anywhere from $- $more) they will not fulfill your orderThis site is a total waste of time and designed to make you pay more than other bigger sites like *** *** *** *** *** Buyer beware there is a REASON they are lower than the completion
