I am in the process of purchasing a camera from Abes of Maine When I called, I was told the camera that I wanted to purchase on-line was a foreign model They agreed to get me a "usa" model for $more After agreeing to the credit card charge, over the phone, I went back to their website to see where I had overlooked the "usa" model Nowhere on their website does it state there's a distinction between a "foreign" model or a "usa" model Then, after seeing their F rating on the Revdex.com, I tried calling back to cancel my order, and I haven't been able to reach them by phone No one will pick up the phone or call me back! My purchase is currently still pending, so I'm trying to cancel my order, before my credit card even gets charged; but I can't get a hold of anyone?!?

I placed an order on 6/19/Today is 6/20/and I am attempting to cancel my order before it is completed through processingI spoke with Jeff S*** and confirmed that the product is not yet shipped, but he transferred me to customer service where I was on hold for over minutesUpon research, I've found that this business has had a history of poor customer serviceI am doing my due diligence to cancel the order before the item has shipped to prevent costs from being accrued from either party

I placed an order for a very specific Samsung 75" TV that I have purchased a number of times over the past couple years from various retailers -- a Samsung 75J75" Smart LED TVI was having the unit shipped to a different office and received an e-mail from "Jeff **" in their "customer service" department to confirm the orderWhile I was on the phone he said, "Are you sure you want the commercial model made in China and not the consumer model made in Mexico?" Of course the consumer model was "better" and was roughly $more than the model I bought ($1579)
I checked my previous order and the model was exactly the same, so I called back and he basically said, "Do more research and call us back." I told him to just cancel the order because I didn't appreciate the attitudeI'll end up paying more for it now but at least it will come from a reputable sourceI highly doubt that Samsung makes different versions of the same TV with the exact same part number, and I'm also curious why if there's a different one available their website doesn't show itSteer clear

I ordered today a *** *** televising with a Abe's price of $including free shippingI was instructed by email to call Abe's about my order which I didI was told that there would be an additional charge of $to insure shipping to *** where I liveThis is not the definition of free shipping; this is deceptive advertisingIf there is a cost to have an item shipped it should not be labeled "Free Shipping"I cancelled my order

I ordered camera from Abe's of MaineReceived email order confirmationI also received email to call 1-800-992-extto talk to JeffI didJeff asked me what battery pack I want to buy with cameraI told him that I can use battery from my older Sony cameraI also ask him question about camera I orderedIt was just simple question "Is the camera I ordered International version or version manufactured for US market" (since this is not mentioned on company web page)He obviously did not like my question and start to argue with meAs the result he canceled my order for no reasonVery unpleasant experience

Buyer beware! After ordering you will receive a call stating that your camera order is not a US Model and that if you want the US model you will need to upgradeNOWHERE in the ordering process did it indicate that the camera I was ordering would not be a US version I fell for it and got my camera but decided to not do business with this company again due to the bait and switch tacticsBe aware though...it is highly likely that this company is also run under the business name Jet Camera! Both businesses have identical websites (except the company name) I should have been smarter But I fell for the bargain tactic again and placed an order through Jet...and the same guy called me with the same bait and switch tactic, offering an 'upgrade' on my lens to the US version and repeating (as he did with Abe's) "I'm just trying to help you get what you want"

Abe’s of Maine does not stand behind the products they sell or their warrantiesI bought a Canon 5D Mark III Digital SLR and a 2-year warranty that was supposed to cover everything but malicious damage and losing the camera The camera was used extensively around water, but was not dropped in the waterIt started working poor, so we took it to an authorized dealer who said there was moisture inside and could not be fixedI contact Abe’s warranty company, New Leaf, and explained the camera was not dropped in the water but there is moisture damage New Leaf said the camera was not covered, had I dropped in the water it would have been covered; but since I was truthful and explained it was used around water New Leaf would not honor the warrantyI then contact Abe’s of Maine and Lisa, the Customer Service Manager, said they would “make this right”After trying for several months for Abe’s to cover the warranty and “make it right”, Abe’s offered to give me back what I paid for the warranty, I don’t want the warranty payment back; that would be like paying car insurance and when you need the insurance they give you your premium back with no coverage Wednesday, October 24, Abe’s of Main offered to SELL me a camera at a discount I don’t want to buy another camera from Abe’s, I want the camera replaced under the warrantyI first contact New leaf and Abe’s in July and four months later I am still trying to get Abe’s to do the right thing and honor the warranty I purchased on the camera from them

Ordered a Samsung TV on line, they then sent an email to call and verify the order, when I called they said I had ordered a commercial version(never stated in there website) and that another dollars would be required for a residential versionI cancelled the order right there on the phoneAbsolutely awful way to conduct businessI would advise all to shop any where else but Abes of Maine
I had purchased TV's from them prior to the change of ownership in July w/o a problem , it appears the ownership led to a change in honesty and customer service

Purchased an OLED TV online from this business on 11/26/(Cyber Monday) for $with free shipping Rec'd email on 11/instructing me to call and confirm purchase Merchant advised that I would have to pay additional $for insurance & handling indicating this was noted on their website - it is not Cyber Monday sales were over, so I could not find a lower price and completed the purchase
I also discovered the TV I received is model OLED55B8PUA when I had cut and pasted OLED55E8PUA from LG's website in my search criteria The "B" model is generations older and less expensive The older model number is correct on the invoice, so I accept that I did not notice the substitution until it was too late, however this represents "bait and switch" selling tactics by this merchant in order to generate unscrupulous product sales This merchant is still advertising the newer model for far less than other online retailers

I purchased a camera on 1/20/at apx 11am for a Sony A7Rmcamera new in a box via phone with Steven at Abes of MaineI specifically asked if it was a new camera and not a used or open box cameraI also asked if it had a warranty and was told yesA half hour later after reading reviews and having talked with a friend that had a bad experience, was told to cancel it as this "Abes of Maine" was a scam storeI called Abes at 1130am to cancel the order only to be told it was shipped and they could not stop it as I paid for next day air serviceI then called customer service and spoke with LisaI asked for a tracking number and was told they didn't have one yetI said the how could it have been shippedStill, I was told that it was on its wayShe then provided a tracking number around 1pm via emailI recieved the parcel this morning 1/21/no damage to the packageOnce it was opened I saw rips on the Sony box and I noticed the box had been openedIt was missing most of th

I purchased the camera "*** EOS 80D MP SLR - Body Only" on 5/6/2016, Serial #'s: ***, order ***
When I received the camera, I found out its not the US version, its camera imported from *** Japan to *** China (my wife is Chinese so she translated every word on the box for me)There was a pealed sticker mark on the box, suggested that the box been opened beforeThis was not stated at all in www.abesofmaine.com at allThe battery had to go through adapter to charge and there wasn't a warranty card in the box
I contacted Abesofmaine for over times, only one reply telling me they would give me a free battery to settle thisI was at work and in a hurry at the moment so I was kinda forced to accept itHowever I found this settlement very disappointedTheir attitude was terrible and I did not pay to buy a *** China camera
I did not use the camera and the battery at allI was told again on 5/15/that they won't take the

I was bait and switched by this company and paid the extra money for filters and a warrantyA year later I just went to send in the lens to Nikon for repair and was told it was a gray market lens and now Nikon won't even look at it, let alone repair itThe company will not answer their phone and now it is too late to dispute the charge with my bankDO NOT BUY FROM THEM, I should've looked into reviews a bit more before buying, Now I am $out and stuck with a lens I cannot use

I purchased a camera online, Sony Alpha abody only, SKU #: SNA| Manufacturer Part #: ILCE6500/BI received an email that I needed to call the store about my orderBecause I was on vacation, I didn't callThe next day, I received a call from themThey said they had to "confirm that I ordered the item." I said yes, I didI was then offered the opportunity to purchase a battery for the cameraI was given two options a basic battery for about $120, and a high capacity battery for $Both would include a chargerI replied I didn't realize the camera didn't have a battery, but I reluctantly accepted the higher priced battery, bringing my cost from $to $The camera arrived today, in a retail boxIt had a battery, no charger, just a charging cablethe battery doesn't appear to be any different than a standard battery that sells elsewhere for $The sku and manufacturer part number are standard across many stores--all of the ones I checked have batteries included

My mother has been putting money away for a new television for almost a year nowShe is finally ready to purchase and asked me for some assistanceI found her the ** *** and searched *** shopping for the best priceAbe's of Maine came up (image attached) with a price of $with no tax and free shippingThis television sells for $in most all big box retailers and she just couldn't afford that muchShe was however willing to stretch her budget a little to accommodate the $priceHaving dealt with them many years ago I advised my Mom that this is a good company and to go ahead and make the purchaseShe didBoy was that a mistake
The next day she received a call, first asking her to purchase extended warranty plans, and when she declined, telling her that she would have to pay $for the shippingShe questioned this and was then told that it's to cover the insurance on the shipmentShe texted me what was going on and I told her not to pay them anything m

Abe of Maine has a lot of different products to choose fromEspecially if your interested in purchasing a digital camera, carrying bag, or even a tvAlso they have bundles available

Please avoid this vendor at all costs!! I placed an order for three canon lenses on-lineI get a call the following morning from a customer service representative confirming the order - all good so farThen he mentions that two of the lenses are imported (not US versions) and offered to "upgrade me" to the US version, because I was a repeat customerWell - he also wanted to upgrade the price as well When I told him to remove those two from the order, he then said that the entire order will be canceled and he will not sell me the other lens any longer and said " Go buy it at B+H"
Nowhere on the website does it say aftermarket or imported lensWhen you purchase a lens from B+H that is imported, it is clearly listed as suchThe lens is also listed as US market price - this is totally deceiving, unethical and probably illegal
I will be following up with Canon about this issue as well
Now, I also had to go though the trouble of canceling my credit card - don't want these shady individuals with such info
PLEASE STAY AWAY !
As a side note - they are actually located in NJ (not Maine)

Abe's of Maine advertised a LG Oled Etv on the internet for $I purchased it for that priceI then received a phone call to verify my purchase and when I called I was told what I purchased was the European model and if I wanted the US model it would cost $dollarsNo where on the site does it mention a European or any other It was just a bate and switch sales pitch to get me to spend more moneyI feel this is advertising and needs to be stoppedI also feel that they should be made to sell that model as advertizedThank you

On 11/24/I ordered a Nikon Dcamera body from Abe's of Maine through their online portalOn 12/3/I received a call call from Ted, a sales representative with Abe'sTed was checking with me to see if I was aware that I had purchased the "international model" of the Nikon Dand made it known to me that this camera would not be serviced by Nikon USA if something went wrong so "today" I could not only upgrade to the US model, he would give me free shipping, for only $more than then originally advertised price on $After much discussion, even though I was quite leery of what seemed to me as bait and switch (which I actually said to Ted and he replied "Why would a company that has been in business for years do bait and switch?", I agreed to the new purchase price for a new Nikon DUS model as it was still at a discounted price of $
This is a gift for my daughter who as a professional photographer needs a good bacamera body, this is a good choice

I placed an order on 5/(Order: ***) for a Nikon Dcamera, body only, Sku NKDIt was listed as "In stock" on the websiteI received a message to call them on 5/I was told that the product was not in stock and wouldn't be back in stock for over months but that they'd sell me an in-store bundle (not listed on the site) for about $more and that it was heavily discountedI was sent a list of what the kit contained and most of it was stuff I didn't needI looked up each item individually on their site and came up with a price lower than the $150...so this appears to be a bait and switch...get the order and try to up sell me on something else that is sold to me at pricing and profitAs of today, the original item I ordered is still showing as "In stock" on the website...no doubt getting more ordersWhen I checked customer reviews, the very first one was complaining of exactly the same thingThe item they ordered wasn't in stock but they were offered an

Ordered a Canon 50mm lensPrices was the best from all sitesThey soon called me that "I ordered the international version" and "if I pay an upgrade fee they can get me the US version"This upsell technique is repulsive, but whateverI said that I didn't need it, just send me the one I orderedIn a few days another sales rep called to let me know that they "don't have the international version in stock" and I should really pay the up-charge to make sure I get the shipment for ChristmasThis is now borderline extorsionby the way, I checked even today and they had the same lens still as "in stock" for the "international" priceThis shop is a sham and extortiveCaveat EmptorI was promised the lens to be delivered two weeks from Nov and still have not received it, furthermore, I tried calling several times and now I can't even get through to anyoneNow I am cancelling and will never use this shop
