I received great service with Kendall V at Worthy, he kept me continuously posted on what was going on with my ring and I am very happy with the amount I received. It was so much simpler than trying to sell the ring myself on line!

I have to say that I’m not a jewelry person and after all that I’ve learned from Worthy I doubt that I will ever be one! The general perception of the inherent value of jewelry is one that I also shared. We are lead to believe that buying jewelry is an investment that only grows over time. The reality is much different. Buying jewelry is easy. Selling it is not.
That being said, I am so glad that I found Worthy! I had so many negative experiences with appraisals and stores that wanted nothing more than to melt down the metal and leave me to find a buyer for the stone. I did some research and was really impressed with what I was seeing about Worthy. When I first contacted them, Travis J answered all my questions and made sure I was able to safely ship my ring. I was kept up to date on all progress and nothing was done without my express consent.
After the initial shipment I was contacted by Kendall V who took me through the rest of the process. He was very patient and educational and helped me to understand the LARGE difference between appraisals and grading. Although I was expecting a larger payment, I was not disappointed. Their Price Guarantee was a safe option that let me get a good price even if the auction didn’t go in my favor. And since my ring sold beyond the guarantee I ended making even more! I would definitely recommend Worthy to others wishing to sell their jewelry. Travis and Kendall helped to enhance the experience even more. Thank you!

Kendall was so helpful and attentive to me during the emotional process of selling my ring. Taking lemons and making lemonade! - I don't have to look at the ring in my purse or worry about losing it, instead I am paying bills and reducing stress!

I had a very good experience with Worthy. I was nervous shipping off my almost 2 carat diamond ring, but Kendall stayed in contact with me, even when I needed more time to think things over. He made me feel comfortable with the transaction and with any concerns that came up. Everything happened on schedule, as I was told it would. The successful auction ended end of business Monday, a check was cut on Tuesday, and arrived via *** on Thursday. I’m happy and relieved to be rid of it with very little effort on my part. Thank you, Kendal!

What a seamless and easy process! Their use of technology, data, and customer journeys is great! Kendall was very professional, timely, and helpful. Kudos!

Wonderful people and extremely professional services! Terrific way to sell inherited jewelry!

Sent this company a 3kt diamond ring and was told after being sent to a third party appraiser that my ring was only 1.5kt. Long story short.. they replace your center stones with smaller stones offer to give you little to nothing as a result of them stealing your center stone. I don’t even have the energy to fight with this fraudulent company. They did send my ring back but with a much smaller center stone..Bottom line.. don’t send anything without first having your own appraisal because they WILL take advantage of you!

Worthy.com Response • Dec 16, 2019

Hi ***,
First and foremost, the ring you sent us is exactly the ring we returned. Your ring is always under video surveillance and was never unmounted. Worthy would never replace a stone as you are claiming. Our goal is to present you with the actual scientific facts so you can understand the value of what you have in today’s resale marketplace. Worthy obtained from the International Gemological Institute(IGI) the grading report on your ring and has provided to you for your records this unbiased 3rd party report so you can know your rings diamond characteristics.
The IGI grading report indicates that your ring has a center stone of approximately 0.55 carats and a total carat weight of approximately 1.55 carats. To clarify, total carat weight (abbreviated CTW) is the sum of all stones in the ring including the center stone and the smaller baguette and round-cut side stones. IGI grades rings in their settings and no unmounting occurred for this 3rd party grading report.
The IGI is an internationally recognized laboratory and does not stand to benefit from under-grading stones. If the jeweler who sold the ring gave you substantially different measurements at the time of purchase, we would encourage you to revisit your jeweler with the IGI Grading Report.

I had a 2 caret Diamond ring that I wanted to sell so that I could buy my daughter a horse. I started to google Auction Houses that sold Diamonds and Worthy.com came up. I was very skeptical from the start and was afraid to mail my diamond to them fearing I would never see it again. Well my Customer service Rep RACHEL K was phenomenal from start to finish she walked me through the entire process and kept in contact with me and answered all my questions throughout the process and my ring sold in 1 week and I got the amount I wanted. The Money was transferred to my bank in 3 days. I highly recommend Worthy.com and my Rep Rachel K I give them 5

Bad company, it's all marketing but they will low ball you and not work with you at all. One will be better off at their local jewelers.

Worthy.com Response • Dec 10, 2019

Hi ***,
Identifying the actual weight of the center stone is critical to understanding the value of the ring. We understand that this has come as a surprise to you.
You submitted your ring online to us as a 1.0 ct center stone diamond; however, when your ring arrived it was evaluated and authenticated as being a quad stone ring made up of four .25 carat stones set together to have the appearance of one stone. We understand that this can be very misleading and be disappointing to learn that the ring you purchased at a retail store is in fact a 1.0 ct total weight which is a very different value than a 1.0 ct center stone.
Worthy is an online auction marketplace and when an item arrives that is less than 0.5ct center stone, we offer a price option. Since there was not a high enough demand from our buyers to put your quad 4 stone ring up for auction, we did offer you a direct price. As we state upfront to all sellers, if you do to accept the highest offer, we are happy to return your item fully insured and shipping with ***. Per your request, you ring has being returned.
Worthy is a trusted and honest company build on the core values of providing you and all our clients with the true facts on your jewelry. It is important to us that you can make a decision based on the knowledge of knowing exactly the accurate facts and makeup of your jewelry.

My items were damaged during delivery, when I callled them about the Earrings that were damaged they proceeded to tell me that they were not liable for my items and they wouldnt be repairing them, im so upset as these items were insured at $507.72
not for sure what to do!

Worthy.com Response • Dec 16, 2019

Dear ***

Worthy has strict quality control procedures to prevent damage to clients' valuable in our care, and we are committed to addressing any situation where inadvertent damage may occur.

On 11/, our Head of Customer Service reached out to you via phone and email with regards to your complaint stating your earrings were received back with bent posts.

As we shared, we reviewed our security footage (link attached) and determined that the posts were in normal condition when the item was packaged for the return shipment. The item was securely packaged in a sealed FedEx bubble

pak, which was then placed in a fully FedEx Small Box for shipment. Based on the condition of the earrings when packaged, the secure nature of the packing, and the lack of any damage in transit to the outer box, it appears the damage

occurred after the earrings were removed from the package. This clearly demonstrates that the earrings were packaged, shipped and delivered in a secure and safe manner and the damage you claim occurred once the earrings were

removed from its return packaging.

Sincerely,

Worthy

Worthy.com is a rip off. I haven’t been paid anything for my ring, they won’t return my ring, they refuse to communicate with me at all. You are mailing your diamond ring to criminals. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Worthy.com Response • Nov 18, 2019

Hi ***,
Your auction ended above the reserve price you set and significantly over our expected market value at 4:23 ET on 11/12- which we show as the expected end time of the auction (perhaps there was a latency issue with the internet connection on your side- we can look into it further if you like). On 11/13 we mailed you a check to the address on file, which you should be receiving shortly (this was the payment method selected). There is no fighting necessary- congratulations on your very successful auction! Other than an online chat that we show timed out on your side, we don’t have a record of your attempts to contact us but we do apologize if you made an attempt that somehow slipped through.

I sent a hand made engagement ring to Worthy for an appraisal. After they had a 'qualified jeweler' clean my ring & appraise it, I was offered an insulting low price for it (less than 10% of the appraised value). I asked to have my ring returned & when I arrived, the ring was different, changed. The pink gold around the halo and under the stone was gone. I don't know what they did to change my ring or WHY they would do this---but the ring is NOT the same! I'm very upset. I contacted customer service as soon as I opened the package & Alex K (customer service rep) asked me to send photos. She opened the photos and could see my concern. She said she would talk to management to see what they could do about the situation. I informed her I will not let them handle my ring again. I don't even know if this can be fixed, since the ring was hand made.

Worthy.com Response • Nov 25, 2019

Hi ***,

We completely understand your concern and have been in constant contact with you to correct this unfortunate situation. We have offered to send you a prepaid shipping *** shipping label so that you can ship your ring direct to your chosen jeweler in NYC who will restore the rose gold of your ring to its original facings. Worthy has also confirmed that we will cover the cost of the jewelers work to restore the rose gold. We will remain in contact with you throughout the entire process. Regards, The Worthy Team

I’d like Vik to please reply to my emails. My auction ended on 11/01/19 and I still have not received payment for my 2 carat ring. I’ve called and emailed and no payment yet but was promised payment within two business days of auction ending!

Worthy.com Response • Dec 10, 2019

Hi ***,
We apologize for any confusion. Both Vik and our team have been in contact with you and have confirmed that the initial payment information you entered into your account on 10/29 was missing a digit and therefore the payment we processed was not received in the two business days. Payment was reissued using your correct account information and you have confirmed receipt of the payment on 11/14.
All our best,
The Worthy Team

Very well organized, timely and proper. Alexa is very good!

I had made contact with Worthy in order to sell an old diamond ring I had received in a will. I had heard very positive things about Worthy and I was curious as to how Worthy could value this old ring and sell it for me. However, I was continually frustrated in trying to log in to Worthy's website. I was never able to do so throughout my transaction with Worthy. However, Worthy's Customer Success Associate, Ornella B, worked tirelessly with me in these efforts, and, when it became obvious that Worthy's log in program would not let me enter Worthy's website, Ms. B worked with me through e-mails and over the phone to help me set up my auction. She very clearly explained to me the GIA reports on the two diamonds in this ring and gave me valuable expert advice in valuating my ring, as well as outstanding tactics and strategy in the auction process. Even when I lost e-mail over four (4) days of power outages due to the fires in Northern California (less than 10 miles from my home), she kept in constant contact with me by phone, keeping me apprised of the status of the auction. If that wasn't enough, even after the auction, she helped me get an even better result that was significantly in excess of the final auction bid. Her patience, efforts and expertise made my experience with Worthy much, much more enjoyable and satisfactory, and allowed me to discount my problems with Worthy's log in problems. I gave this review 4 stars to reflect Worthy's problematic log in process. I would give Ms. Ornella B ten (10) stars. Worthy is lucky to have her and I would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend her services to any customer of Worthy.

Thank you *** for sharing how our amazing Customer Success Associate, Ornelia, made the difference and helped you every step of the way. We apologize for the login issues and are addressing this isolated issue as that is not a typical occurrence. Your review is much appreciated and we agree, we are lucky to have Ornelia as part of our outstanding Customer Service team.
Kind regards,
Worthy

Thank you for all of your effort Dennis!
I had a really good experience with Worthy. All of the representatives that I encountered were courteous, helpful, and responsive (even when I told them I had changed my mind about selling!) I felt comfortable the whole time with trusting them to help me try to sell my fine jewelry. With their help, you can reach a large online audience, and have a greater chance of finding that special buyer.
Even though I decided not to sell, I would definitely consider using them again in the future if I am in a position to sell jewelry again.

My tedious experience with Worthy was worse than my divorce. Once I asked to have my ring returned, they stopped proactively communicating me, including after they sent my ring out to an outside jeweler to have the diamond remounted since their in-house specialists could not. They did not communicate this to me, nor did they communicate that this would delay return of my rings. Instead, I had to call numerous times and wait on hold until I could talk to someone who knew anything about my ring and experience. It took three shipments to get my bridal set, original GIA and their updated GIA certificates (no changes, shocking). Now I get to do more work to have the ring inspected locally to ensure it's intact since they sent it out to an unknown location without my knowledge or permission. At least they agreed to pay part of the cost of that inspection.
Worse part of this? I posted a review on Trustpilot which was negative. Worthy's "customer service" people replied, twice, with incorrect information about this transaction. They used my very common first name without confirming with me who I was, to post all kinds of incorrect information about the timeline of my engagement with them. Then, when I replied with details of the actual transaction history in a rebuttal, they reported my review to have it taken down.
Just go to your local pawn shop. You will get the same low dollar amount, but without the hassle.

Worthy.com Response • Nov 01, 2019

Worthy is an online auction marketplace for reselling diamonds to a vetted, closed professional community of buyers. Your ring was received in at Worthy, authenticated, cleaned, photographed and prepared for auction, when you declined the offer, we proceeded to ship back your ring, which as you have confirmed, have received back. We apologize for any confusion with names, and for that we are sorry. There was never any ill intent.
Our process is very clear and transparent, and allows for multiple bidding at auction, allowing you to set your reserve and should you decline the highest bid if your reserve is not met, you can either accept the offer or request to have your item send back. Many of our clients find Worthy an easy solution helping them sell their valuables as is attested by the many positive reviews clients have left here on Revdex.com.
Regards,
The Worthy Team

They don't explain the auction procedure very well. My $10,000 designer platinum/diamond engagement ring bought from Barneys NY was "appraised" by them and put on online auction at a very low "reserve price" which they asked me to "approve." I wasn't told that the reserve price was what the ring would bring in at the very short auction. The picture they posted on the auction was terrible. After it sold for about $900 they took their "hard-earned" cut and sent $750. Do they buy the rings themselves to sell elsewhere for more money? I wasn't told who bought it. I was given no information at all.

Our goal is to help all our customers understand the options that are available. Our team, as well as stated in our FAQ's which are found on the website, https://www.worthy.com/about/faqs, do state the selling options available based on the type of items you would like to sell: quick sale, advance payment and set a reserve. Our expert team will help advise you on the options that are best for your items.
Worthy provided you with a 3rd party grading lab report that identified your ring as a 0.52 round center stone, G, VS1 with feather inclusions with 20 smaller stones each 0.0185 in size. Your initial submission estimate that you received prior to shipping in your ring was well within the range of the sale price, so you were knowledgeable of the price range prior to shipping. Once the sale was accepted, a success fee is taken, and for items under $5000, 82% of the sale price is paid to you.
In regards to the retail price you state in your comment, this price is subjective and based on that retailers luxury pricing structure and does not play into the resell price.
We are happy to speak with you directly and have reached out today to schedule a call.
The Worthy Management Team

Worthy is just fine for what it is-- a way to get your (v nice or better) diamond off your hands for ~20-25% of what it would be priced at a reputable jewelry store. Sales people (let's be honest, that's what the "customer success associate" is) absolutely do take the time to walk you through their process, answer questions and work to build a relationship and trust. Which obviously makes sense because they are trying to earn your business.
Further, the success associate works very hard to manage your expectations in the following way: they'll give you the highest end estimate before you send the items in, and then (obviously, depending on the grade of the stone/quality of the item) they'll recommend you set your reserve at the lowest possible price that will ensure that it will sell (and you'll hopefully be happy). Not unlike a higher-end car sales situation, the "success fee" is negotiable. I set the reserve price for my diamond ring at $5.5K above what was "recommended." The auction would have ended at almost $2.5K above the reserve price, and the phone call I got was, "Wow! You had so many buyers interested in this piece, it's remarkable and the price they're willing to pay is so much more than expected! [E.g. you should feel very good about this transaction.] What price do you need to sell this diamond now?" [Similar to a car salesperson saying, "What price do you need so that I can get you in this car right now?"] And when I asked to reduce the "success fee" (aka commission), the answer was, "I need to ask my manager, and I'll try to get you more money by extending the auction and talking to bidders, but to do that you need to agree to sell your stone at the current price no matter what." Be prepared to say no firmly and walk away, if your price isn't met.
I'm not overly criticizing this method-- but be aware that like everything else, it's just a sales tactic. Also, do remember that Worthy is working for you AS WELL AS working for buyers, so there is a conflict of interest, similar to a real estate agent that is listing a property as well as representing the buyer. Again, not the biggest deal in the world, but keep your eyes open.
I ended up selling for $3K less than my reserve-- you do get invested in the process, and at some point the tradeoff of having to try to sell it myself for what would amount to not that much more given the cost of *mytime just didn't seem worth it.
So: if you live in a major metropolitan area and have a really nice diamond ring (my stone was >3.1 carats, H color, custom platinum blah blah), you'll probably do better at a higher-end jewelry store, but 1) you'll absolutely need to go in knowing without a doubt what the color/clarity, etc is (bring independently appraised paperwork, GIA or EGL--or you risk being ripped off) and 2) you're going to have to be prepared to do the legwork.
However, if you have the same nice diamond and live in a place where higher-end rings are not usually sold, and/or there aren't many higher-end independent and well-regarded stores and /or you're thinking of selling to a pawn shop, Worthy is likely a better bet.
Just go in with your eyes open, and don't let yourself be pushed.
ps. I also auctioned a Rolex with the original box/all paperwork/every original bit that came with it. When the auction ended, I was asked, "What price do you need to sell this watch today?" I'd spent a bunch of time vetting other sales venues for this watch, and knew that if I didn't get a specific price I'd be happy to keep it, so my answer was a v clear,"You are not going to be able to get the price I want." I was firm about that, and that was fine. Unfortunately, it took repeated requests to get the watch back. The explanation was, "Our send-backs are *reallybacked up right now," which might mean that a bunch of people aren't ok with the auction results and refused to sell?

Worthy.com Response • Oct 21, 2019

Hi ***,
Worthy is centered around the goal to help people maximize the value of their jewelry when they are ready to sell. Our team is dedicated to help you along the way and provide insight and guidance to help you set the reserve you are most comfortable with, as in your case, as you describe you set your reserve where you preferred, remaining in control the entire time, giving you the ability to accept the highest bid or request for your item to be returned.
You mention the importance of knowing what you have. We could not agree more and in as such we believe an objective gemological evaluation is critical in helping determine the value at auction. In many cases, the grading reveals characteristics that were unknown to the seller at the time of describing their item. As with your diamond, you submitted as a VS2, SI1 and the IGI grading report identified the diamond as SI2,I1.
We want you to help educate you about your valuable and help you get the most for your piece and if you decline the highest bid, we process the return, allowing 7-10 business days, shipping fully insured and prepaid via ***.
We appreciate you using Worthy.
The Worthy Management Team

I sent a single 1 karat solitaire diamond ring in 14K white gold to be auctioned. I had 2 jewelers look at it before I sent it . They told me it was a diamond valued at $6000 retail and $1500 if bought by a jeweler. I got stupid and sent it to ***. Worthy emailed me that it wasn't an authentic diamond. When I questioned it, I was told it was a cubic zerconia. I was also told that it was NOT removed from the mounting. I took it back to the jeweler when it came in and he said it had been removed from the mounting because he could see where one of the prongs had not been completely put down. Also, this ring is from 1966 unworn for all of these years. Cubic Zirconias were not used in fashion jewelry until the mid 1970's. This is not the stone I sent them, and I want full compensation for my diamond. I do not trust these people to send my true diamond back.

Worthy.com Response • Oct 15, 2019

We understand that it can be disappointing to learn that your ring is not a real diamond. Worthy provides the facts and each and every package and item is reviewed under video surveillance. We have attached the video of the intake and opening of your package and the testing of the stone upon arrival. As you can see at the 3:20 minute mark, the stone is tested using a Premium Industry Standard Diamond Tester and reads red, failing the diamond test. The stone is tested 2x by 2 separate employees and fails both times. The ring is rejected at the 4:00 mark. Our Location tracking confirms the item was never unmounted. The ring was checked into our vault within 1 minute of the above mentioned test and checked for return shipping. The ring was returned and confirmed receipt on 9/*/19. Worthy considers this case closed as we have shown that the ring is not a diamond and returned to sender as received.
