Review: I found American Standard on Craigslist.org and it said to call the available phone number to help you find homes to rent. Eventually you can own them. I thought it sounded great for someone struggling like me so I called. The lady on the phone said they will help me find these homes I just need to pay a one time fee of $199 and that fee is guaranteed to be returned at any point as long as it is within 12 months of first paying. Not only was their database of homes not helpful, the homeowners were and continue to be unresponsive and not aware their properties are on this website. I emailed and called countless times asking for my refund since their services are not what they advertised at all, and they need "rejection letters" from at least 5 homeowners. I've spent an extra $20-$30 in mailing documents to these homeowners and I keep getting no response. The countless conversations with them are useless. They are extremely rude. All I would like is the $199 back. These people have horrible customer service, are very difficult to work with, and their online services are even worse. The company's name is American Standard Online now. Review: When I sent them two hundred dollars I was to pay for signing the papers to get me in a home. I was told to find the one I wanted. They would let me see it if I was interested we would sign papers and they would get me in the. I found what I wanted. American Standard then told I had to write to the home owner and let them know I wanted to see the house. Did that letters came back stamped vacant, tried several times same thing. Then I got a different address to write to on the same house. And nothing. SO I called American Standard again complaining again. They said I don’t know maybe you need to find another house. I had been trying for this one since May 2015. Then I called back July 22, 2015. They told me the house was sold. So I checked on the matter heard nothing. They sent me more listings. The second house I was interested in is on the last listing with two different address on same page and different from first page.Desired Settlement: I feel like I lost the first house because of their lies and the run around they gave me. I feel like they need to get me in a house now, since they said they would.

Review: Asked for a credit card number to pay for a Title Search on property. Promised to send log in information within 5 minutes. Called customer service asked for information to be resent. Promised it would be sent within a matter of minutes. Again it was not. Never received the information promised but credit card was charged immediately.Desired Settlement: Should not be allowed to advertise on Craig's List. They should be banned from that web-site.

Review: My husband and I joined the membership to find a home and tried canceling the membership when we noticed there was no progress. We were told that we needed to wait 90 days and before calling to cancel. After 90 days, I called to cancel and was told that we needed to put it in writing and mail it. I e-mail the request and was told I needed to get a rejection letter from on of the borrowers that needed someone to take over their payments. After e-mailing the letter I was told that I needed to request the areas and size of home with the requirements we wanted. Once again, we did what we was told, but never received a list of homes. we were under the impression that once we sent the list, that they were personally going to make sure that we received a list of homes with willing customer who needed to get out of there homes. Review: We are a family of four. Was looking to move into my dream home when I came across an add on craigslist about americanstandardonline.com they told me in order to have access to the sites foreclosure list and become a member they needed 199.00 needless to say I did everything I had to mailed out letters to plenty of homeowners that we were interested in their homes and if they were interested to contact the company. Weeks went by and nothing. Every time I called them @ ###-###-#### and finally got through to a customer rep I was given the run around. One customer rep told me I had to wait 90 days for my refund which was up on November 19th 2013. When I called today another one told me looks like you were up yesterday all you have to do is cancel online. That's not true apparently I need 5 denial letters for them to even consider you for your refund. Called back right away and ask to speak to a supervisor or the owner Susan Quinn and the representative told me no just like that, I said you guys are a scam and will be reported to the B.B.B. He got nasty and hung up the phone on me. Come to find out by doing plenty of research we were not the first family to get scammed. PLEASE HELP!.Desired Settlement: I would love my refund back and hope that they really get investigated and shut down. Companies like these take advantage of families with the American dream. Especially in our economy now a days it is truly sad that they go around scamming people. PLEASE HELP!.

So disappointed in this company. All the leads they gave me were closed. I heard not from one person and sent out close to 100 letters. A good portion of them were returned. I tried to get my refund; it turns out it is nearly impossible to get my money back. This is what their refund/cancellation policy is:

Cancellations/Refunds

Notwithstanding any other terms in this Agreement, there are no other Refunds the Company will make other than contained in this "Refund and Cancellation Policy" section of this Agreement.

The Company's refunds and cancellation policy is based on what type of product or service was purchased and is as follows:

All request for refunds or cancellations have to be made in writing via USPS Certified Mail addressed to specified location of Customer Service on Contact Us page of the Web Site. No refund or cancellation will be made unless the Company and the User settle in writing each request for refund or cancellation. All refunds will be issued by check only and sent via USPS Priority mail with signature confirmation. Refund checks will be issued within thirty calendar days of the written agreement between the Company and User and will include a 10% process and handling fee. The check will be addressed to the User's address available to the Company.

Products: In the case of Downloadable Products no refunds will be made once they are purchased. In the case of Shippable Products that shipped to the address supplied by the User, a full refund minus a 10% process and handling fee, of the price paid by the User to purchase the Product, will be made only if the product was damaged in transit and the package received by the User is returned to the Company as directed on the package.

Services: In the case of Services, a full or partial Refund towards the price paid by the User to purchase the Service may be made provided:

1. Requests for refunds will be accepted after 90 days by certified mail. The request must include at least 5 denial letters from the homeowners you have contacted through AmericanStandardOnline.com

2. The Company has, to its sole satisfaction, verified that the delivered Service was materially deficient in providing the Service as stated in its Service Description on the Web Site at the time of Purchase.

3. The verified deficiencies of the delivered Service were not caused by events outside the control of the Company such as slow internet connections, weather, etc.

Review: Cancelled members sent over a hundred contract letters to home owners I never received any kind of response from home owners so now American standard tells me I need 5 denied contact letters from home owners in order to get my refund if I can't get a home owner to respond to me how am I to get a denial letter from them I paid a 199.00 dollars for this membership it doesn't work and I need my money backDesired Settlement: My membership payment of a 199.00 what I paid I was I would get my refund no problem if this program didn't work for me

Review: There current address is [redacted] Coast Village Road, Suite #1-555, [redacted], Ca 93108and they have made their company look very good. They have great customer service representatives that are pleasant and they beef their company up as if they are a proud standing company. I was given a list of homes that are going into foreclosure and these people supposedly called this company for their help, "all their words" when I saw an address on the list I happened to go and visit the home and my church member friend lived there and was baffled that this is happening...so I would like to ask that you please do all that you can to stop them please. Review: This company withdraw 199.00 from my account and I have no products or services from this company.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my funds back from this company. I did not authorize them to remove the funds, nor did I receive any products or services. When I tried to call the 866-961-6029.

Review: I called American Standard Online, and talk to a guy named Cameron I asked him the steps in the program. He didn't tell me the correct information about the program. When I paid he email me the website. When I went to the website they want you to write these home owners that don't even know about their company to sell their house for someone to take over their payment. I was't told this when I talked to Cameron; furthermore, I won't agree to anything like that. He made me believe if I pay my money go on the website and find a place, call their customer service to sit up a appointment to look at the place. That was false avertisement. Now I want my money back their telling me 90 days. Now I read g the complaints on your website it's 90 days with 5 rejection notes. I not rich I don't have 200.00 to donate to a company that's ripping people off.Desired Settlement: I want my refund back, because the misleading information when I sign up for the program.

Review: American Standard Online is a property locator service. They help you to find property for sale or lease and even foreclosure listed property. I signed up for service with American Standard Online in April, 2012. I paid the $200 fee for the service at that time. I followed their guidelines for locating property, but did not find a home with their company. I located a home through other sources since I needed to move as soon as possible. When I informed them that I had found a rental property and had moved into already and wanted to get a refund I was told to follow their guidelines for requesting a refund. I waited for the refund, but it never came. When I called them to find out why they gave me more guidelines which included me having to receive 3 rejection letters. That was absurd since a lot of the people that you send letters to do not even respond. It was like they changed the policies to make it difficult for me to receive my refund.Desired Settlement: I want to have my $200 refunded to me because we were unable to find property using the services offered by American Standard Online.

Review: I was in the market for a rental property when I came across American Standard Online as well as many others. But this particular company promised to help me find really good homes in decent areas. The first associate I spoke with was very polite to say this was a scam and gave me all the information I needed except that they'd be taking $199.00 and not $1.99 out of my account without my permission (t was supposed to be a hold). Granted I know that with most situations like this there is some sort of fee to pay but I was ill informed and shocked. When I called back to talk to someone about getting a refund because I no longer wanted the service multiple people who answered hung up on me and was very rude and nasty. I finally got the "customer service" number and when I called the woman I spoke with informed me that it would take 90 days in order to refund the money in total. I am not at all confident that my money will be fully refunded if refunded at all. Since then I have not been able to get in contact with someone who wont hang up on me when I cal to inquire about my money.Desired Settlement: I do not want anything extra from this situation but my full refund. I did not appreciate being taken advantage of in such a delicate process leaving me to result in starting my whole searching process all over again. I would just really like my money back. Review: The homes they have listed for "pre forclosure" are not for sale or in any trouble at all. They said if we found any issue with the site or their service we could get a refund of our money. So far all they do is hang up on me.Desired Settlement: I would like my $199 back.

Review: I was looking for rental properties and the gentlemen on the phone asked what I would like to pay per month, I told him $1000 per month was my price range and he said by purchasing his service I would be provided a list of rentals that are in price range and area and that I was guaranteed to move into one. So we paid $199, then immediately logged online to access this list of rentals just to find out it was list of foreclosure properties (not rental properties). I immediately called back told them this was not what we were looking for, they told me that because I logged on to the website he could only refund $100 and that if we wanted a full refund all we have to do is wait 90 days and call them back for immediate refund. The fact that they did not refund our money after we called him back within 5 minutes and said this is not we were looking for we are looking to rent a house from someone not buy a foreclosed home from the bank is bad business. We were mislead by the salesman. After 90 days we called for full refund as we were told as was explained to us, just to be told oh you have request it online? After "requesting it online" we get an e-mail saying we have now request refund via written request and we have to show proof we used their service with no results. We never wanted their service to begin with, we were told it was a list of rentals in our price range in our area, we had to log on to their website to find out what it really was, and have been sent down one rabbit hole after the next in order to try and get our attain a refund. I feel like I was scammed! A business with integrity would not work like this. Why wont they just refund us? Review: american standard contacted me by e-mail about an easy way to buy a house. as they requested I pay them $200.00. they said I will get back my money in 90 days if They can't get me a house. I did everything they asked me to do: get addresses from their website and signed the letters they provided me to those addresses. Since I had no signs of those peoples ,I called them and asked them for more addresses. I went through the same same thing over and aver. I called them after almost 2 years now to get my refund. They said to wright a letter explaining what happen although i"ve been on the phone with them,I wrote the letter. after a couple months I called them again. They said I have to tell them what the people said.I told them no one answer the letters. they said if I can't give them those people's answer they can't refund me the money. I argued with them as much as I can, they said they will not refund the money.Desired Settlement: I would love to get my money back, and I think they should pay some interest or penalty to stop skimming defenseless people like me that looking for a brake. thank you

Review: My family and I have been looking for a home to rent for three months. Last week I saw an ad for American Standard Online. I bought the service and was not informed that if I wanted a refund that I would have to wait 90 days to cancel my service. I also was not informed of the whole process of looking for and getting into a home. It is very time consuming. I have had my service for one whole week and they( American Standard) does not want to refund my money. I have found a home for my family without using this service. Also, when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told," I can put you through to a supervisor, but they are going to tell you the same thing." I did not ask what a supervisor would say I just asked for a supervisor.Desired Settlement: I want all my money back immediately.

Review: This company is a fraud. The property are not in foreclosure or the people who live in he houses dont know that their property address is up on craigslist. And they arent even behind on their payment. And they refuse to give our $199 back for the program that isnt even real.. Its just a SCAM.. And should be removed from craigslist. They are making money off of people who are trying to do rent to own programs.Desired Settlement: We would like to see these people stop SCAMMING and making moneyoff of people who work hard and are just paying for lies. Review: American Standard was to help my wife and I with a starter home. The agent on the phone made the process sound easy and seamless. They also said once we found the house,mall we had to do was notify them and they'd do the rest. After we paid the $199.00 they then decided to tell us that we need to send letters to the owners because in most cases they still lived on the property. They sent us a template, we spent days looking up and visiting properties, sent letters out and no response. We did this from 2011 up until 2014. I called to get a refund because nothing ever came of it and they said my account was only good for one year. There was never notification, nor a refund. They did not make good on their promise. This is like stealing money. How do you ask for money to provide a service that was never given??! What a scam. I just want my $199 of hard earned money back. How are they still in business?Desired Settlement: I want my money back. There was no service provided.

Review: I purchase American Standard online services in April of 2014. I drove to the addresses on the listings page and found that some did not exist, other addresses had vacant lots, and others existed. I sent multiple letters to multiple houses in Shelton, CT 06484; Milford, CT 06460; and Seymour, CT 06483. I was told that I needed to give the homeowner's time to reply, or time to reject me. I gave these homeowners the time, and received nothing. Quite honestly how could I get a homeowner to reject, AND IO could not see their true refund policy until after I had made my purchase. It is false advertising to offer a product, a house that does not exist, therefore a contractual issue as they knowingly lied and violated the contract.Desired Settlement: Truth be told, I'd like a class action lawsuit filed against them because I believe that they are offering their "product" in more than one state, therefore it is could be a federal case. However, I would settle for my refund of $199.00 I want this money refunded to me in a cashier's check because a company check is likely to bounce.
