Review: On june 17 I called American Standard and I ask her how do we get a rufund back she told me to go to the website and one a letter and mail it in so I ask the lady I paid 199 dollars and the company never contact me about the homes that I was interested in she told me the there business didn't work for you she said very rude and sarcasticly I ask her when I first started the program they said if it didnt work out I can get my money back and the lady said it is not there responsibility to tell you how the program works it is my responsibility as me trying to get Services she was very rude and I do not like her Customer Service at all she did not help me to understand how the services work I have been with them for 3 months and I got nothing out of it.Desired Settlement: I would just like my 199 dollars back.

Review: I gave them 199 dollars that I did not have I was told if I pay a one time fee of 199 then me and my family could be in a home with in a week. So after I gave my money I was told that the 199 was for rent to buy homes and I have to send out contact letter to ask the owner for the property. Its only been two days and I want my money back they want give it back until 90 days I don't have 90 days my family have to move asap. I need y'all help all I want is my 199 back and not in 90 days.Desired Settlement: I want my 199 refunded right back to me like I gave it up please.

Review: This business gives a list of houses that are in the pre-forclosure status, to help the current homeowners from damaging their credit, and to help new home owners purchase a home. You are to print out letters to mail to the homeowners offering to pretty much take over their payments. I have mailed about 40-50 letters in which have all gotten returned to me. The letters were unable to forward to the homeowners current address and the return sticker had handwritten "vacant" on it. I have called numerous times with this issue because their service is of no help to me and I wished to cancel. Customer service told me I had to follow the instructions listed to cancel my service which consisted of a handwritten cancelation letter and 5 denial letters from the home owners. I did not mail the denial letters because I do not have any. None of my letters got to the home owners, so how am I supposed to have denial letters? I called again today to explain my situation and they basically told me there was nothing they could do about that situation but they could send me a new list of houses, and I could request 5 denials. Well if none of my letters were delivered in the past they more than likely won't be delivered now. I was a customer of this service for 3 months and I am still living in my parents house. Their service is of no help to me and I want my money back.Desired Settlement: I paid 200 dollars to this company to help me find a house. The service has failed and I want my 200 back. I'd like it to be either deposited into the account I paid for it with, or a money order. I do not wish to receive a check as it may not be a "good" check.

Review: signed up with American Standard to search for homes in my area that will be in foreclosure. The cost for their service was $199.00 and they stated that if you couldnt find a home to make an offer on they would reimburse the initial charge of $199.00. The website stated there were homes in the area where I live which is Pigeon, Michigan. I paid for the membership and when I went on the site their were no homes in my area. After 90 days I requested a refund of my money and they told me I had to meet all of their terms and conditions which were tottaly ridiqulous.Desired Settlement: Full Refund as Stated on their Homepage

Review: I joined rent to own program in September 2014.I was informed by a representative named [redacted] that if I wasn't happy with the program I could cancel for a full refund within 90 days. I sent out request letter to homeowners and the results were unsuccessful. The addresses that are on the website as listed as available properties are unoccupied and I have received undelivered returned mail. I called the company and told them that I moved and would like a refund. Of course they are now giving me a hard time. I made my refund request in writing in December 2014. Today January 30, 2015 I called American Standard online and spoke to a nasty unhelpful Rep named Simon. He informed me that I have to have 5 denial letters from property owners I sent letters to in order to receive my refund. I asked him how do obtain these letters if all the address are un-deliverable address. I was left with the impression that he just didnt care and knew it would be difficult to obtain this from the homeowners.I feel like I was scammed.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my $199.99 refunded to me for this program is a scam

Review: The company lies to you to get you to sign up and give them 199.00 to help you find a house that is supposed to be a pre-forclosure, they promise you all these great advantages to using they're service and they go on to tell you that if you do not find a house through them within 90 days that they will give you a full refund. NONE of this could be further from the truth. Once they get your money they talk to you however they feel, they provide absolutely no service they expect you to print a blind letter from a member page that they give you and send this letter to people who have never heard of them and have no idea who they or you are furthermore I've found that most of these people are not losing they're homes and are offended by the letter being sent to them the whole thing is one big scam. When it comes time to get your refund they tell you to go to their web page and read the terms and conditions of you being able to get your money back. In other words don't expect to get your money back if you've given it to themDesired Settlement: I would like to have a full refund of the money that I gave them and that they FULLY disclose all of the terms and conditions of what it is they REALLY do what you as a customer are expected to do and the FULL TERMS and CONDITIONS of WHAT you have to do to get your money back BEFORE you sign up for their program

Review: this business is a fraud. i'd like everyone to know we gave 200 hard earned dollars for them to do a service of finding us a home and we have been completely robbed of our money. this place tells you that they have a list of homeowners who are ready to give up their homes to individuals who are looking to take over payments... this is false. these homeowners are not going to just leave their homes and let you move in. it makes no sense and please do not fall into this trap. this is a trap just to leak you out money. we get one answer over the phone and one answer online. only after you have paid do they inform you of the fine print. this company should be shut down and furthermore the owners should be prosecuted to the max extent of the law. to have a company whose sole purpose is to deceive and then steal from the tax paying americans is a plague on our community and our country.in looking back at my mistake of paying these crooks all I can say is never again will I fall for such a scam in such a desperate time. we were facing a 30 day notice to leave our current rental and couldnt find any housing. the adds say you could e in your new home in a week wellthat is simply a lie there.Desired Settlement: I want my 200$ back asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: American Standards Online is an unscrupulous scam. First of all, their service of supplying addresses of foreclosures is completely ineffective in finding viable property sellers. In more than 2 months of trying to find a property, I did not receive one positive response from a single homeowner. Then their requirements for a refund are a complete joke and are of course, only revealed in the fine print that no one reads before they get started. In order to get a refund of my fee to them, I was required to send a certified letter and include FIVE letters of denial from homeowners saying they did not want to sell me their home. It took me 3 months of sending out letters with self-addressed stamped envelopes to over 300 homeowners in my area to get 5 people to respond. I finally got my 5 letters of denial and submitted them with the certified letter. I was not contacted by American Standards. I waited and waited for my refund, and then finally started calling. After 3 unsuccessful attempts at reaching a live human, I finally got through to someone today (40 days after having sent in my request for a refund) and I was told that NONE of my five letters of denial could be verified and therefore I would NOT be issued a refund. I was shocked and furious when I heard this after going through so much trouble and expense to adhere to their ridiculous refund requirements. There was no mention of "verification" in the fine print, and they refused to show me the results of their verification process. I am absolutely furious that they have the nerve to refute the letters I received from homeowners and not give me my refund. And they are completely unhelpful, unsympathetic and unprofessional on the phone. I was refused access to a supervisor and was basically told that there's really no viable way to get a refund from this company. It is shameful and disgusting and criminal, and I strongly recommend that NO ONE do business with American Standards!!! Don't waste your hard-earned money here!!Desired Settlement: I have spent so much time and money attempting to utilize this company's service and then trying to get a refund due to lack of results, that nothing will satisfy me other than a full $200 refund. No business transaction should entail this much aggravation and dissatisfaction, and it's absurd to me that American Standards cares more about their profits than in maintaining good will and a good reputation. I will do everything I can to make sure as many people as possible know what a scam this is

Hello Sarah my name is Amanda, your positive review has helped me. My husband and I mailed out some letters February 16th 2015 and its been over 3 months that we have heard anything. I called American Standard back and they sent more listings so I am going to send out more letters to homes and repeated letters the previous homes. I pray this isn't a scam because it seems very real and exciting. well I m going to continue to wait and believe God that there is a home just for our family.

Review: When I first moved to California I was looking for a place to live but because of my credit I had issues. I had to find a place where my credit wont be a problem. So I went on craigslist and found these beautiful homes that were rent to own but were empty. I called the number listed to see them, and I also told them about my credit issues. They said it was okay and that they also have military and former military customers and because I was getting my military benefit I was good to go. Big mistake; I was told I had to pay $198 to use their site, and all I had to do was find a place, and write a letter to the owner and if I didn't use it or need it anymore they would refund me my money back. They also said after a certain period of using their site they would automatically refund my money. That was all I was told, never told that the people on the list were not interested in anyone taking over there homes or buying it, I dont even believe they ever signed up for this program or know that there address were on a list for someone to take over there homes. I wasnt told any of this process before I signed up or else I wouldnt have done it. So I went ahead and signed up, I wrote over 30 letters and not one reply or interest. This was a headache from beginning to end. When you find a place, you can not see it until you write a letter to the owner, and get a reply for when you can come and see the property if they were interested. I called them once to see if I can narrow my search a little bit, but what they sent me was horrible and not what I was looking for. I gave up and went on craigslist, and found a place in two months. I called them for my refund, and said I didnt need their services anymore. I was told that I did qualify for a refund but I have to write a letter telling them I was not interested in their services anymore and to state that I didnt use their service to find a place. I did that and was later told that I also needed a certified letter sent to them. I went ahead and did that also but I didnt hear anything back from them for about 3 to 4 months so I called, and I was told I needed 5 letter from owners expressing that they were not interested in me taking over their homes, by these time I was pissed off, I felt I was getting the run around. I was told if I had gone on there website I would have seen the rules. I told them at the time I didnt know they had a website, that I called and they signed me up over the phone and that if I had read all of this I would never have signed up with them. I asked if anyone ever got a refund from them, I was told yes, but I doubt it very much. I went ahead and wrote 7 letters, still no reply. I called them gave me the run around and asked for their manager who doesnt seem overly concerned. He said to keep writing, I wrote 20 more letters just to receive 5 deny letters, did not receive one reply in return. They may have received the letter in their office because their address was CC: on the letter, but they never informed me if that ever happened. I was told that I had untill October to get my refund since I signed with them in October 2014, and still no refund. I believe this was their intention all along; they had no intention of ever giving me my refund back.Desired Settlement: Refund. I want them investigated. Because I believe this is a scam and there are people who are trying to make ends meet that could get taken in by these people.

Review: complete scam was told if I wasn't satisfied I would be refunded my 199.00 back. went on website and found it was nothing I was interested in or wanted to be a part of. Called customer service to get a refund then was told I couldn't till after 90 days. waited 90 days and called to get a refund only to be told I had to send it in writing along with 5 denial letters from homeowners. No disgruntled homeowner is gonna write you a letter of denial complete scam and they should be shut down for false advertising nothing but a scam an was lied too.Desired Settlement: want my 199.00 dollars back as I was told originally if I wasn't happy with the service. should have been told up front that you need 5 denial letters and have to wait 90 days for my money back. that's the scam cuz no one would buy it then.

Review: This Company advertise homes for sale on Craigslist. When I called to ask about the services, they stated that the properties are foreclosed homes and the owners need people to take over payment. If I did not find a homeowner with the willingness within 90 days, I would get a full refund at the 90 day expiration of my subscription. When I called at the 90 days, June 2, 2015. I was told to send a written request with 5 denial letters, in which nobody even responded to the letters, and I would receive the refund. The disclaimer is not available to you until you reach your 90 days and furthermore this is not explained. The only thing that was explained is that you will receive your refund the same way you made the payment. I just want people to know that this company is ripping people off and the homes that are listed are indeed, not in foreclosure.Desired Settlement: I want my money back the way the promised if the services wasn't helpful within the standard 90 days.

Review: I contacted this company through Craigslist. I my lease currently ends May 2, 2015. In contacting this company I received information that I may be able to rent to own within 24 to 48 hours after scheduling and appointment for viewing. I have no knowledge of foreclosed homes; I was under the impression I would be able to rent homes as well. I paid for the services and was sent information about foreclosed homes. In speaking to a representative, I was told it would typically take anywhere from one month to six months to be able to settle on a house. Reiterating my purpose to use this information would no longer be beneficial. At first they would only allow me to receive my refund after 90days if I am not satisfied or unsuccessful. I was set up for payment at 930am and was on hold for 30 minutes before inquiring about a refund; then placed on another20 minute hold before I spoke to the manager who was eating his breakfast while speaking with me. After I was placed on another hold for 10 minutes so that he could review the recorded conversation that was held for payment. The manager decided to refund me $150 and not the $199 that was initially billed. When I spoke to the customer service agent prior to the manager, she stated that it typically takes longer to obtain a foreclosed home in which she stated it took her 6 months to receive her home. I also explained to the manager that I had lack of knowledge of foreclosed homes and stressed that I needed to move in 2 weeks. I believe that they were more concerned about me paying rather than being ethical and honest about the lack of possibility I will be able to be moved into a home by my move out date. They are in California therefore I had to wait to contact customer service due to the time zone.Desired Settlement: I would like to settle this situation by receiving the full refund amount of $199.00. They are only refunding me $150.00 for a service that was not effectively utilized within 3 hours of misinterpretation.

Review: I have received letters from 2 individuals unknown to me stating that my house is in preforeclosure (which is it NOT) and wanting to rent my house. I feel that this is a scam, and I DO NOT appreciate a company that I know nothing about giving my address out to total strangers at all, much less with fraudulent information.Desired Settlement: I would like the company's assurance that they will remove my home from whatever outdated list they have and that I will receive no further contact from them or individuals using their service or name.

Review: My husband and I were looking to find a home to move to in NJ. We found on craigslist a post from this company where they help get you into a pre-foreclosure/foreclosed home. All you have to do is pay $199 and if your disatisfied you may receive the full money back. LIE! Every glimpse of hope they promised was a lie! I drove to these abandoned homes and wanted more information and they did not help at all (like they said the 199 fee was for them to help). Now I want my money back and they won't give it back to me so I filed a dispute claim of charge with my credit card company. This is a FRAUD company, do not trust them!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for my full amount paid of $199. I have never complained of any charges in my life in addition to having outstanding credit. So this is a rare situation for me and I would like a refund for extremely poor customer service and lies this company has given me.

TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!! My brother bought an American Standard heat pump and it has been a nightmare. This unit is not reliable and will keep the house cool and all of a sudden shut off. He was told to turn the heat on (yes in the middle of summer) and then to switch over to air after a while and that will start the system again. Ridiculous. My brother is a cancer patient and very sick. This is the last thing he needs to worrry about and they could care less. They are aurgumentative and will not do a thing to help him when their system is terrible. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Review: I signed up with American Standard Online - a company I found while looking for properties to rent in the Tampa Bay Area. The advertisement promised rent-to-own listings of pre foreclosed or foreclosed houses that I could buy at really great prices and also help the homeowner by taking over the payments and preventing them from getting their credit ruined - sounded like a win win to me. I called the local # listed on the add and a gentleman by the name of Tod Hale instructed me that this was a super easy process, just pay $199 for the subscription to the site - look for the house and once I find it I can just set up the appointments to go see them - well, these people only tell you half the truth, he didnt tell me that in order to get into the property I have to contact the home owner via letter - also, what they dont tell you is that the listings are very old, some of these properties have been foreclosed for years, the listings are from 2009, 2010 etc... nothing current. The "best" part of the deal was that if within 3 months I didnt find a property all I had to do was cancel my account and get my refund... well, nothing is quite so easy. The other part they dont tell you is that you need 5 denial letters from the homeowners you have contacted - well, since the properties are not for sale, of course it is nearly impossible to get a so called denial letter, and this company obviously knows this, and is scamming people left and right - I have contacted their customer service dept twice (last time I spoke to [redacted] (employee # 2420) and both times I have been treated with the outmost disrespect, I was in fact told to stop talking and a particular employee told me that all I was doing was speculating and that it was my problem/fault if I didnt read all their terms and conditions - well, they are not up front with people, and when you ask the questions they dont give you the answers the employees are nothing but rude and of course have nothing to say once you start asking real questions...Desired Settlement: I would like my $199 refunded back to me as promised by the staff members that told me all I had to do was cancel the account after 3 months - they LIED, they HID information and then they disrespected me when I called "customer service".

Review: I have contacted the company to request a refund and was told that I had to wait 90 days to do so. My 90 days was up on 2/25/14. I contacted them on 3/4/14 and was told that I had to go to their site and follow their procedure. Once on their site I read that I must send them 3 denial letters from the property. Never received any response from the property owners. Now they won't return my money when I was never able to adequately search for a home. They keep giving me the run around an want return my funding like they said they would. The property that is listed don't actually be up for any type of sale or risk to being lost. Owners are not even aware that their property is listed on this site.Desired Settlement: All I am asking for is the money that I paid. Nothing more nothing less. I'm trying not to take them to court but at this time it seems that this would be the only option.

Review: First of all, I signed up for this program thinking that this company was trustworthy but I was wrong. I signed up for this program in December and they told me that I had 60 to 90 days to get out of this program If I felt the program was not working for me. This program is targeted at people who are in foreclosure of there home that are in distress and you could take over there mortgage payment but this is a lie to. I paid $199.00 out of my checking account and standard told me I had till February 6 2014 to cancel I let them know ahead time that I wanted out of this program because it is a scam. I talked to a Representative and they told me something different that I had to have 5 denial letters from home owners before I could get my money back. If anyone out there is thinking about joining this program don't do it please. This company is a scam.Desired Settlement: I would like my money put back into my checking account as soon as possible.$ 199.00.

Review: AmericanStandardOnline.com provides misleading information about cancelation policy when discussing with their agents. We requested a cancelation with two hours as listing we not as expected.Cancelation is virtually impossible to obtain. One must wait 90 days to initiate a cancellation, a certified "snail mail" letter is required and must receive 5 "snail mail" denials from homeowners.Desired Settlement: Full refund of moneys paid on order for $199.00
