Your American Standard Reviews (226)

This is such a SCAM and by far the worst customer service I have ever had! I never even used their site and within 3 days of purchase - I sent a cancellation letter and then they tell you that you have to wait 90 days from purchase date and send letter. So I send letter and then send emails to follow up and never a response. Then forget getting through to their customer service line because it takes forever to be on hold. So I finally get through to day and ask about refund and they say they did get my letter but that I need to send 5 denial letters. I have never used their website and do not intend to use and they still insisted that I won't get a refund and then that person went to hang up on me. Very RUDE!!

Review: Representative informed me over the phone before payment that my $199 title search/sign up fee was refundable. He did not inform me that there is a 90 day wait before you can request a refund. I did not know this until after I paid.Company refuses to give a refund even though their information is misleading.Desired Settlement: I would like my $199 refunded.

Review: I bought into this to find a house under a rent to own basis little did I know that this American standard does not own or even have any contact with the homeowners they advertise rent to own but that's not the case they want you to send out contact letters with the hope that the home owner will allow you to take over payments the they advertise a complete full refund if youre not satisfied not but I call for a refund and they tell I cant get one for 90days maybe they are not selling what they advertiseDesired Settlement: I've had the account for an hour but I want a full refund and my account cancelled.

Review: This company has been deceitful from the beginning. They told that there was a refund policy and when I felt that it was not working out, I asked for my money back. This company refuses to give me my money telling me that I have to wait 90 days. And that I should try the program out. Well, I followed their advice and I have received four returned letters stating that the address was incorrect. When I called to tell them this they really didn't care saying that they were going to update that information and that I should try it again. This company needs to be put out of business because you paying $199 for a list that is not true. Again they lied in everything that they have told me. I am asking is for my money and they refuse to give it to me. They have broken their promise because their information is incorrect. So, I feel that I should be given my money back because they are not being honest.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to just give me my $199 so that I can put it toward a company that is reliable. I do not want to wait 90 days because they are breaking all their words right at the beginning.

Review: I was lied to about what I was going to be offered. then when I asked for a refund which was guaranteed to me if I was satisfied with the service. they have yet to give me back my money.Desired Settlement: 200.00 for service I would like a full refund

Review: I purchased American Standard Online services hesitantly after they posted on Craigslist with the sales person telling me that I could ask for a refund anytime after the first 90 days if I was not completely satisfied or just decided not to use their services. Basically, no questions asked. I bought the services in 8/2012, I asked for a refund in 3/2013 via email and they sent me and email saying I was qualified to ask for the refund as my 90 days had lapsed. So, I went to their site and it said to send via US mail, which I did in 4/2013. I since had moved as I bought a home (not using their services) and I never heard from them. I was going through boxes and sorting paperwork and came across the cancelations letter (2 of them) and said, oh yeah, I need to get my money back - they never responded nor sent me a check. not only did I sit on hold for more than 25 minutes, but when I spoke to the first customer service person, and I explained to him my issue, he promptly told me my claim was on hold, but since my contract had expired I would not be receiving a refund. I said - what do you mean, I never received any communication from you that I anything was pending, why you have it as pending. There was zero communication from ASO so how am I to know? Things got heated and I requested to speak with a manager. I then was put on hold for so long the phone sent me back through the line again and I ended up waiting more than 70 minutes to finally speak to Doug W - Agent 059 a "customer service manager". He basically spouted the same nonsense. I then asked him to pull the "recorded" conversation of when they sold me the product so he could hear what I was told and he just continued to spout the same rhetoric. I made it clear that I would be filing a complaint with Revdex.com and Consumer affairs as well as post on every CL in California warning people to check the fine print and not to believe the lies their sales people say. I will also be sending a personal letter to the owner Susan Quinn.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $199 I spent on the services. They claimed, no questions asked, and then they put something buried in their T&Cs that they do n ot explain and catch you by surprise. In addition, most companies send you a rejection letter or send you a notice that your claim is missing something (timely) so that you can correct any issues, but they tactic is to not say anything and keep silent and hope people forget or the time to submit passes.

Review: I moved to CA with my parents and siblings. We were trying to find a house and I came across American Standard Online. Without thinking much about it, I payed the $199.99 fee to be able to look at their homes. Later on, with the help of a friend, we were able to find our self a house without using American Standard service. Now I find out that not only did I have to wait the 90 days to get my refund, but also have 5 denial letters. Also the woman on the phone told me I can write my own denial letter, which is unprofessional - teaching me how to get my way through lying. She just told me on the phone that I have until the end of April 2015 to get my refund but I am not even sure I will ever get it.Desired Settlement: I just want the $199.99 back because we are a low income family. My sister (19) and I (20) are in college, and we have 2 younger brothers. I know it was my mistake of paying the $199.99 but we were at a desperate time trying to find a house, living in a bus witha family of 6. I also have notivced that I am not the first one complaining about this service, and I found Revdex.com from another fellow victim of this scam. Please help.

Review: I am a current real estate/ business student. I was thinking about becoming a first time home buyer, needed a new place quickly, and stumbled upon "American Standard Online" during an internet search of local properties. I called the 1800 number on the website. I spoke to the sales representative who told me how great their services were and to get started, they needed a $199 hold for transfer title fees and paperwork filed , if applicable. That if I decided not to proceed with their services, after 90 days of initial payment (the $199), I would be issued a full refund, no questions asked. Well, its been more than 90 days, I called to request my refund, and I am now told that I have obligations to fulfill in order to receive my money back. I need to obtain 5 refusal letters from foreclosure properties in order to start the process of said refund. That I have to jump through hoops, and all submitted in writing, to start a process that now is going to take another 90 days, I am sure. The supervisor I spoke with did not care that I was deceived by their sales rep, that $199 is a lot of money to me, and I should not have to do anything in order to receive my refund. if they looked online under my account they would see no log time, no letters requested for property viewings, that I never used any of their services. so why do I have to "request refusal letters from 5 properties listed on the website"? They literally want me to write to these people in their homes that are in danger of repossession, and ask them to write me a letter of refusal to view their home because a terrible business duped me, and won't give me my money back until I get a letter back from you. Please stranger, help me get my money back. Because you care about my $199 when you are losing your home. It is embarrassing to have to write these people going through hard times in order to receive my refund. It's humiliating for me to have to do this. Please help me, and stop this business from doing this to any more people, please.Desired Settlement: I want my $199 without harassing people in writing, plus an update in their practices that verbally tells people on the phone when talking to their sales rep, about in order to receive your refund, you are going to have to obtain 5 refusal letters. they need to explicitly tell people how they do not give refunds for not using the services, they do not give refunds at all unless you ASK PEOPLE IN WRITING TO REFUSE YOUR VIEWING THEIR HOME. Id like triple back for my anxiety and unfair practices.

Review: Severely misinformed. After one year of the service unable to successfully provide any positive outcome, they are unable to provide me with a refund. The service was set up with a listing of multiple homes that were in foreclosure at the time. It was then my job to send.out letters to the owners of these homes that I would be willing to take over payments. I have sent dozens upon dozens of letters with no response. I was advised initially, over the phone, that after 3 months of the service unable to provide me with results that I would become eligible for a refund. It has been nearly a year, I have had no responses. They are demanding that if I would like to request for a refund , that I would need 5 denial letters from the homes I have sent letters to. Since this is next to near impossible, with the lack of response I have received initially. What they are requesting is unfair. They also have stated that I have agreed to the terms of this contract. Which I have alleged consent to online prior to use of service. I am stating that this business claims that I have given consent are fraud and falsification . I would have never agreed to that. Also, I have no signed any formal document of that matter. This business needs to be exposed for what they are ; a scam! I am asking for what is fair and just . I would like a fair biased review of my case. The newer up to date address is 1187 [redacted] Montecito, .ca 93108Desired Settlement: Refund of full 199.00.

Review: I purchased American Standard Online services hesitantly after they posted on Craigslist with the sales person telling me that I could ask for a refund anytime after the first 90 days if I was not completely satisfied or just decided not to use their services. Basically, no questions asked. I bought the services in 11/2013 then after looking at the listing decided to get my money back. I called them up and requested a refund and they told me it was only refundable after 90 days. I then asked to speak to a manager and he then hung up on me. So I called back several times, even using multiple phones and got no answer what so ever. I just want to be reimbursed for my "title search fee" of $199.00Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my $199.00

Review: I was going to use american standard online but ran into some huge financial concern sending me into bankruptcy I have been advised not to send the letters to take over payments on houses per this could cause concern legally with my bankruptcy I have now explained this several times over the last 3 months to this company they tell me I must present letters of denial which I can't contact them without a letter which I have been advised not to go they with at the time this company has been unwilling to work with the people they say they want to help, I spoke with [redacted] today who sounded like a robot and kept repeating himself and putting me thru the loop, I then asked to speak with his superior [redacted] informed me I could not speak to [redacted] and I would have to request a phone call from him over email, [redacted] told me that his superior [redacted] does not take phone calls, all I'm asking is that my money be returned to my card for a service that I am unable to use per their words all you need to do is call back at the end of januarary for your refund now I have to provide denial letters which I can't obtain because of possible legal reason, this company had been ridiculous to work with and keeps giving you the run around they only want to help themselves not the people they advertise for.Desired Settlement: Just give me my $200 back

Review: Last August of 2014, I tried to contact YOUR AMERICAN STANDARD hoping that I could get a unit/house for rent to own. I called the company and a guy told me to pay$199.00 in order for me to find a house closer to my work. A gentleman told me on the phone that I can ask a refund if I'm not satisfied of their service.I didn't hesitate to pay to be a member and to qualify. I browsed their website and I found out that I will be the one to talk to the owner of a repossesed house. After knowing all that trouble, two days after I signed up, I immediately called them that I want a refund since the company promised me. A representative told me that since I opened their website, I can be refunded two months after I opened their site. I waited for more than two months and I called the company. Now, a representative told me to go to their website and aplly for a refund because I am qualified for a refund. Check their website and it says, I have to write a letter to the company which I did! I sent it last Dec. 29, 2014 certified mail and the company received it as of January 2, 2015 at 9:26 a.m.Today, February 11, 2015 I called the company to ask how's the status of my refund? A representative told me that I have to wait a letter of denial from the people who owned a repo house. My question is, how can I receive a letter of denial that I never spoke to anybody who has a repo problem? As I've mentioned above, I don't want to go all the hassles in talking/ convincing people about getting into their personal business. Please advise.Desired Settlement: Just give me back my money $199.00

Review: American Standard online a company that promises homes that are under foreclosure or pre foreclosure is a complete scam. My wife and I sent out over 15 of the letters that they provide asking homeowners if you can be of assistance taking over payments of their home. After three months we heard nothing from any of the home owners as well as American Standard no one called to see hoe their product was working or anything. When signing up for the service I mentioned I wanted to read the fine print and the customer rep stated that if I hadn't found a home in 90 days I could receive my refund.. Now its been 90 days and they are saying they need five denial letters from people saying they dont want me to take over the payments of their home even if I hadnt asked them its all one big scam and a run around in hopes that you will give up and they can keep your $200 well $180 cuz they charge $20 to send you your own money back.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back.

Review: This company is very deceitful they do not tell the truth when explaining what you're getting and how the process will work. For example I was told I would have direct contact with the owners to schedule appointments totally wrong once you get on signed up. You have to mail out letters to every one of them but this was never disclosed. I also come to find that a lot of the homes weren't even active homes available. I was also told I could get a my money back at any time. I called to speak to manager who said it takes 90 days to get refund. After I told him about all the different things disclosed to me and that it was deceitful he said he would review the taped line & get back to me on Wed. July 16. I still haven heard back from him nor any other person from the company.Desired Settlement: This company is definitely in the wrong for what they are doing to people. They're very deceitful I would like to have my $199.00 refunded ASAP. The company really should not be in business. Scammers

Review: This company told my granddaughter that they will help her to get housing. She needed place to stay with her two children. I let her use my card. After a month with no help, she called and complained and they said they will credit her back the money in 30days. To no avail nothing. So, I started investigating after I moved to North Carolina. I called Old Navy and put in complaint. I called the Federal Trade Commissionon 3/10/14 and talked to Brenda Refi #52[redacted]4. I also talked to someone in your office which sent me

this form to file. I’ve talked to [redacted] And [redacted] from Old Navy. I received its of no help from Old Navy with # from American Standard, No Answer.Desired Settlement: My $199.00 back or at least $150.00 giving the program gave 1 mo.

Review: Americanstandardsonline.com claims that by contacting pre-foreclosed homeowners, one can entice them to turn over their mortgage to one. They tell a convincing story and even have customer reviews available. They then charge $199.00 for listings of these pre-foreclosed homes, and give one a form letter to send to these homeowners. It is absurd to think these homeowners would just turn over their homes to a stranger! And what if one doesn't even qualify for credit with the existing mortgager! I cannot believe I actually bought into this nonsense, but desperate people do stupid things. I was really surprised that you did not have prior complaints on this company.Desired Settlement: As tight as money is to my family right now, we lost our home and are currently staying in a motel, I feel that I should receive a refund of my original payment. The company has not been realistic in their claims.

Review: Called on 4/22/14 to register my daughter on their site to rent a property. Explained to [redacted], Agent #2**5, that we had to have her in a place in 3 days. He explained to me that once I register, the regristration is good for one year. He also explained that if we did not use their service I would be refunded the regristration amount of $199. He sent the link for the regristration to my daughter, who was in California, and I am in Illinois. She clicked on the link and tried to make an appointment and it would not let her. She called on the phone and they explained to her then that she had to send a letter to the address she wanted to see and they would call her to make the appointment. THis was not explained to me when I registered her. I was told that if the paperwork falls into place properly, she could be in a place in 24 to 48 hours. In all of my discussion with [redacted], he did not explain how the procedure worked, and he also did not explain that in order to get a refund, I had to wait 90 days to get it if I agreed with the terms and conditions. I am only looking to get refunded what is rightfully mine. $199 for a service that I did not use because the whole process was not explained properly. I feel they lure you in with the hopes that if you don't use their service, you will forget to call back and they will keep your money. In my opinion that is stealing. Everything should be disclosed upfront when you are registering.Desired Settlement: Refund the $199 to my credit card.

Review: I'm sure you already know but this company lies to people. I gave them the 200.00 and the website just showed houses but no way to communicate with the bank or people that are selling the house. They said I would find a house that I can make an appointment to see the house but there was no information at all. They said they would get a hold of the people for you and they would take care of all the paperwork it's not like that at all. Please help us get my money back. Thank you for your time and hope you have a great day. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Just wanted my money back like they said if I was not happy with the program. I have two kid's and one on the way I just wanted to find a house to move into like they said they would help me.

Review: These people are pure scam artist I signed up with them on a rent to own program when doing so they said I will go online view different properties set up dates to see the properties and move in with first month oh boy was that a damn lie I found 23 places called back then they tell me oh now you have to print a letter off their web page and send to the property owners I was pissed but I did it I was desperate they said give it about a week you will start receiving appt yeah right its going on a month every single letter I mailed all 23 was returned one women bought the letter to me and said I wanted to know why people like you keep sending me these letters and why I explained to her the program and who told me to do it she said my house is not for rent or sale I own my house and bought it cash so now I have egg on my face then I called them to request a refund mind you when signing up for this program they explained to me that this is fully refundable now they are telling me I need to have five written denied letter from owners denying my request which is crap because if everyone has returned my letters that is denying my request this is not right or fair then they try and tell me that after that it takes 180 days to get my full 199 back like really I'm a single mother of three living with friends and because of them I am stuck I just want every penny back at a timely manner they should be shut the hell down because they are liars!!!I'm in tears because they have really hurt me and lied to me......Desired Settlement: I would like all my money back which is $199.00 in a timley manner I work very hard for each dime and what these people do is ridiculous and if they choose not to I will file charges against them and I mean it.

Review: My fianc and I at the time were looking for places to rent or own and came across the advertisement for American Standard online after looking over the website we decided that we wanted to try to rent to own a property we spoke with a few representatives the last guy [redacted] informed us that we would pay the $199 fee and after we paid we would log into the website look for house we wanted and after we found the property we could contact the owners to start the process for rent to own they also told us that after a year if we did not find a property that they would fully reimburse the $199. The year had come and we contacted them about our refund they then informed us that it we had to send in a cancellation letter I sent the cancellation letter in November 2013 after a entire month with no answer as to where our letter was located. We called and found that the cancellation was incomplete we were then informed that we needed to send in 5 denial letters in order to get our refund back but not refunding the money back onto our card, they were going to charge a $20 processing fee and send us a carrier to give us the money via check. After I received that information I got the denial letters from the various properties who had already been sold or had people living in the properties. I sent the first set of letters the end of November 2013, three weeks passed they did not receive them or had any information on when they will have them. December 11 I resent the paperwork and they received it on the 13th I sent it certified that time but it still took over a month to get any info. I was informed today January 7 that because it wasn't done in the timeframe of the year that I would not be allowed to get the money back when I spoke with the original person who helped us get the listing for the properties I was informed that after a year if we didn't get any properties or get any homes under this listing it will automatically be refunded our money. Now Doug Williams -059 and RACHEL -3398 Say no we cant.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my FULL refund back. Not the $179 with the $20 processing fee but my entire refund given back. I would also like to see American Standard Online closed for good.
