Review: I first saw American Standard Online on CL (craigslist), the caption read if you're looking for a "rent to own" home, this is where you sign up to get the listing. I called and was assured that I would get just that. I gave my card info and was told that if I wasn't happy that I could cancel at anytime up to 90 days, the rep gave me my confirmation number and sent me a email to login. Once I logged in using the password they gave me is when I saw what they were really about. I called back twice and was given the run around, both times asking for my money back, that the rep assured me that it would take about 2 weeks to get into a home. Thats not what this site is all about. They mislead me and refuse to give my money back. I then called my credit card holder and they called the company, they gave them the same run around, stating that once I opened the site and logged in that I had to stay with the company FOR 90 days and then I MIGHT get some of my money back. The site says that once I login I'm to follow their guide lines and have to wait for 90 days before I can qualify for a refund. This is not what I was told. If I had known that when I was talking to [redacted], (their rep) I would've never signed up. I want my money back, this is not fair of them to hold on to 199.00 for 90 days when their reps tell us that we can cancel at anytime. They never tell us that we may not ever get our money back.I have the emails that they sent me after I had capital one to call them asking for a refund.Desired Settlement: I want my 199.00 back and for this company to train their reps to be more clear about this program.

Review: This company advertises as a relocation assistance company, however, when you pay the enrollment fee, you find out that is not the case. Very deceptive practices and refunds are impossible to receive. I have not used the service after learning the following day it is not a relocation company. Someone needs to look into their practices.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund and have been trying to since May 28, 2014.

Review: The customer service is not good at all they give every excuse to not give a refund. They tell you that it is money-back guaranteed and when you call they refuse to assist you with the refund. They website doesn't show any pictures of the houses and I sent 3 or 4 letters to the houses to view them and got no response. I just need my money back. So can you please get my refund asap.Desired Settlement: I just need my money back. So can you please get my refund asap. It can be either in a check or deposit back into my account.

Review: I had tried out this company to try to get a house through them and it didnt work for me and I had sent them a letter ssking them to jive us back our money just they told us to no they dont want to give me my money back I think they are a scam we paid $200 for it we did everything they asked us to do and no one reponded to usDesired Settlement: I would like back what I paid for it

Review: I called this so called company in response to a craigs list ad for a rental home. I explained my situation was I was looking for a home to rent. Bob explained to me that he can get me listings of tons of rental homes in my area some which are rent to own. I explained that I can not pull any type of bank loan he explained that these were rentals. To get the list I just needed to give him my credit card and they would charge me 199 and that would be refunded in 90 days. I was ok with it because he said he was sending me lists of rentals and I needed to be out of my home fast. What I got was a link to a data base of people who own homes but are facing foreclosure. They wanted me to send these peoples letters asking if I could rent to own.. These people had no idea I was even contacting them. They were not lists of rental homes. When I called back explaining this was not what I needed Simon told me I can get a refund when I called back yet again Simon was rude and distasteful. I was angry and explained that I was having to stay in a hotel while resuming my search and just wanted a refund. He said "being in a hotel what does that say about you, cant even keep your kids safe". This guy was rude and disgusting to me in a time when I just needed help. And he refused to refund my money.Desired Settlement: I would just like my 199 refunded to my credit card and would also like Simon to be reprimanded for his insinuation that I do not keep my kids safe. He should most definitely not be in customer service.

Review: I saw an ad for American Standard online on craigslist on August 8, 2013.My family was on the verge of being homeless, and I was happy to speak with a represenative, who informed me that there was a way for my family and I to have our own home. He informed me that they would be providing a listing of homes and that if I was un satisfied with the service, that I would be able to request a refund for the 200.00 that I was paying for the service. A requirment of the program states that you must contact the home owners personally based off of the information provided by the American Standard website. I contacted 8 home owners and did not recieve a response from any of them. When I called back for a refund, I was informed that I needed to obtain a certified letter stating my intentions, and also 5 denial letters from the home owners. This is where the situation turns predatory on American Standards end. How can I force a un supspecting home owner to send me back a response letter? I had already submited 8 letters and did not recieve any responses. I was advised that I would need to write a new letter asking for the homeowners to send a response. Please remember that I have been forced to solicit homeowners after I paid them 200.00. I spoke with Simon who is a supervisor there, and he advised me that there was not anything he could do. I demand that my money is refunded immediatly! As a single parent struggling to make ends meet, I feel taken advantage of by American Standard online.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund.

Review: american standard online has scammed me out of my money. they promised me that I would find an affordable home with no money down. the homes they had on the website were not pre foreclosed homes. when I called and requested a refund AFTER my 90 days they gave me the run around and I still haven't gotten my refund after another 90 day periodDesired Settlement: I just want my money back and they should be reported for fraud so that people will not have to go through the pain and suffering that I had to go through

Review: they told me they would find me a house with in 5-7 day all I had to do for there service is paying $199 (for example, the saleman promised a "100% money back, no questions asked" while the legal section of the site requires that you must have 5 written letters of rejection. You must wait 90 days to request a refund... I sent out letter after letter never got anything back after 6 months of that I called them back and the lady told me do you think they are going to tell you if thier house is getting forclosed one she said I think not just give it time and you will get something I promise. she even said its a money back with no question asked. so I gave it more time and still nothing so I called them back and told them I wanted a refund and she told me I had to send them a wright letter with my name order # and address so they could send me a check so I did and gave it a week called back the person said we never got anything give it a few more day so that's what I did then called back the guy who answered said they got the letter but it was one day over my 1 yr to late and they couldnt give me a refund. they put me off until it was to late to give me my $199 dollars backDesired Settlement: I would like my $199.00 dollars back I been trying to get this money back for a long time and nothing

Review: I had found a house that was online that I was interested renting on June 19th 2014. When I talked to the man on the phone he told me that it was part of American Standard and that they did rent to own properties. The man had told me that he needed to get all my information so that he could sign me up for their website and access all of the listings that they had. I kindly agreed, he then had told me that I needed to pay $199.00 to cover closings costs, paper work and also to have access to their website. I was very skeptical about this but he reassured me that if I did not like this house I found that I would get a FULL refund. He told me that after our phone call that someone would call me to give me more information about the house I wanted. Someone did call, only to tell me that this house was not available anymore and I would have to find something else. After a couple hours that house was magically not available? I was then irritated and asked for a refund because I was interested in that house and I wasn't allowed to access their website for 48 hours while they processed my info. The lady on the phone told me I had to wait 90 DAYS until I could get a refund, which was not what I was told by the man I had talked to earlier and she said there was nothing she could do about the refund until after those 90 days. So I called 90 days later to get my refund since I hadn't found anything on their website. I was on hold for 55 mins before I talked to anyone and the woman I talked to told me she would have a manager call me back within the hour. 2 HOURS LATER I get a phone call from the manager who told me that he could not give me my FULL refund because I didnt take full advantage of the website/got decline letters from homes I was interested in. He could only give me $100 and I couldn't get it for 30 days. WHY? I wasnt informed about ANY of this when I called the 1st time, and the fact that they can't give me a full refund and that that house disappeared seems to me like theyre scamming people.Desired Settlement: I would like the FULL refund amount of $199.00. I was not told anything about having to use the website for 90 days or getting decline letters from homes I was interested in but didn't get. I was only interested in 1 house that wasn't available hours after I called about it. Also, the fact that I have to wait 30 days to not even get my full refund that I was intially told I would get is ridiculous.

Review: I saw an ad in the American Press that stated a really great deal on a home, so I contacted them on the number listed and I was asked to pay $199.00 and a list of pre-foreclosure or foreclosed houses would be emailed to me with tons of houses to choose from in and around the Lake Charles area. I received the list and started looking for houses very excitedly. My husband and I found 8 different houses that we were interested in and began the process that we were told to begin communicating with the owners. We sent letters to the 8 different addresses stating that we were interested in their home and that if they were in a financial bind that we could help save them from possible foreclosure. After mailing the letters, 2 days later, we began to receive phone calls from the home owners stating that they are not sure were we received our information from about their house being foreclosed, but they were not in a financial bind and was not sure what we were talking about. I have contacted American Standard twice since that day and demanded that they send me my money back due to the scam that they had going on. No one to this day has returned my phone calls or emails to to return me my money. I have disputed the charges on my credit card and I am filing a police report as well. This has completely embarrassed me and my husband in our community as well as the home owners.Desired Settlement: I would just like the 199.00 placed back on my credit card.

Review: I was lied to. I thought thst I was investing in a home for me and my children I did everything neccassry to move in one of the homes listed. When I sighned up I was told there was a mnoney back guareentee if the services didnt help. Its been three months and im ot in home I requested my money and wanted to cancell only to be told I couldnt recieve my money back.Desired Settlement: 199 for the money I paid for a service thast never happened

This company is horrible they lied to me on the phone just to get my money. When I called back in the 90 days to get my money back they will not give it to me. They want me to knock on 5 random peoples door who have no idea who I am and ask them for a denial letter just to get my money back.

Review: I was told by the owners of the houses on the "For Sale List" provided by American Standard were not actually for sale. American Standard said there was $0 down to move in to a home we went to on there list and the home was not even for sale. After talking to all the other home owners on the list, none of the other homes were for sale either.Desired Settlement: Only the $199 that I paid for with my credit card.

Review: When signing up for american standard online I was told I would not be charged until I started searching for a home. I was immediately charged. I called within 30 minutes of finding the charge and was told I have to wait 90 days to cancel. Called to cancel nearly 7 months later after getting the run around only to be told I can only cancel if I have 5 rejection letters and a written statement. How do I get 5 rejection letters for a service I never used?Desired Settlement: I want the $199.00 refunded.

Review: This company short noted every detail of regulations and terms just to receive my money. The rep that I have spoken too never have me full detail on terms he just told me how the company would help me to find a home which I found out later which was a lie! After I request for a refund they told me I had to wait 90days for one then I have to write a letter explaining why I want a return and then on top of that it takes 30 days for approval and they're gonna charge me 10% just to refund me back my money! When I asked why is it costs just to refund me she tells me that it costs for shipping and for the certified check! So I was like how about you reins it back on my card like yall took it! She said no we don't keep card information on file so I'm like how about I give it to u and refund me back my money! So I explained to her how I never use this service or kind of wrk before so she says it's common sense to read the terms and conditions! So I told her before I could even get to that part of the website he already asked for my card info and took the money out of my acct. so they're wasn't no chance for me to even do that! I just thinks this company is scamming people and needs to be sued and shut down! They told me that these people was aware of me contacting them on taking over they're mortgage payments which I layer find out I'm mailing a letter with a note trying to convince different people on giving up on their properties for lesser money their owed which is a lie! Scams all scams! I just want my 199$ backDesired Settlement: I want my money back without all them crazy fees and with out tHe check cashing fee I'll be charged!

Review: When we signed up for there service we were told there was over 60 properties located in Crawford County. That it was a 100% refundable. We paid the required money to receive the listings, we called on two different nights to see these listings that were not showing up in our query. We contacted customer service again a week later then were told they did not know what was wrong that we could not cancel for 90 days. Now we are told that we can receive our money back unless we have 5 denial letters. How do you receive denial letters if they are not even in your county??Desired Settlement: Refund of our inital payment as agreed when we signed up.

Review: In Dec. 2012 I paid 199.00 to american standard online and when I went on the website, I immediately called them back to cancel the enrollment but was told that I had to submit 5 denial letters from homeowners. I have sent out numerous letters to owners and the only thing I get back are my letters stamped with things like vacant, unable to forward, so I don't have any denial letters. I do have the enevelopes that are returned to e by the postmaster and I am sending those items to them. In Sept 2013, I requested a refund again and was told the same thing that I need denial letters. I was also told to just keep trying.Desired Settlement: I want the full amount of my payment which was $199.00

Review: I ATTEMPTED TO STOP THIS SERVICE THE SAME DAY I WAS SCAMMED INTO SIGNING UP FOR IT. THE LADY ON THE PHONE TOLD ME IT WAS A 1.99 FEE TO TRY FOR 90 DAYS AND I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK. I HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS SERVICE WAS 199.00. I CALLED AND ASK FOR A REFUND AND THE MAN TOLD ME I HAD TO WAIT 90 DAYS (HE WAS VERY RUDE). I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THE LADY ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE WAS FAST TALKING ME IN THE SET UP PROCESS AND I WANTED MY MONEY BACK. I EVEN TOLD HIM I WOULD GO AHEAD AND TRY AND USE THE SERVICE FOR 90 DAYS. I ASK FOR A LIST OF PROPERTIES WITH INTERIOR PHOTOS AND EXTERIOR BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO VIEW HOMES FOR PURCHASE FROM OUT OF STATE. I GOT AN EMAIL WITH ONLY 9 HOMES AND NO INTERIOR PICTURES. I ALSO LOOKED ON OTHER WEBSITES FOR HOME PURCHASING AND FOUND THAT THE SAME HOMES WERE LISTED ON OTHER SITES LIKE (ZILLOW) AND SOME OF THOSE HOMES WERE SOLD ALREADY. NO ASSISTANCE ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY. THE WEBSITE IS SO CONFUSING AND YOU BASICALLY HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK ON YOUR HOME. ALOT OF THE HOMES ARENT EVEN AVAILABLE. THIS COMPANY I HAVE A FEELING WILL NOT ISSUE A REFUND. I PLAN ON BUILDING A WEBSITE JUST TO ALERT PEOPLE OF THE SCAMS THIS COMPANY ARE RUNNING AS WELL AS CONTACT MY LOCAL NEWS STATION.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY 199.00 REFUNDED BACK TO ME ASAP

Review: This advertised on Craig's List that they had Rent to Own property no credit needed. I spoke a [redacted] who is the so call manager -2034. Once you pay the 199 dollars you can get into their web site. I get into the site and its pre foreclosure property. They lie to get you t pay the don't disclose that people are still in the properties and give you misleading information to get you to pay the money. When I spoke to this Mr. [redacted] I stated clearly that I was interested in the rent to own properties he stated that they had over 500 hundred properties available in Minnesota. They do not tell you these are pre- foreclosure properties and that people are still living in these properties. I called back right away and asked why do their listing give satellite images and spoke to some rude lady. Which made even more upset. This is all a scam!!!! I had to call my bank and cancel my credit card. Once I went back on Craig's List I noticed they had taken down the site. I have called left emails they put you on hold for long periods of time 20 to 30 minutes. I was told by my bank to contact the police and the attorney general and that is my next step. They also don't tell you if you cancel their is a fee. They also record their conversations which is probably a lie too!!!Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of my money they can scam other people if they want but I will not be one of their victim's

Review: Bad - Fraud. Property for the title search was already rented when we were to take over the payments. This was already done when talking to [redacted] at MOS Product, LLC. Told again that if we paid the $199.00 we would have the property.Desired Settlement: The money still owed of $49.00 be put back.
