Review: This company sold a package on current homes that can be asset and be purchased out of forclosure the listing that was sent to me was homes already sold to banks or other owners. They are refusing to refund my money base on them failing to meet and provide their part of the deal. I specifically asked very clear questions on what I was looking for due being in a position of needing a home right away.Desired Settlement: I paid company $199 on 5/23/14 I contacted them that very same afternoon advising them that I would like to cancelled due to list not current and no homes available as I need a home within this month coming (June). They send me another list which is now out of my price range and not within the area I disclosed with them. I just want my money refunded to me for the service fee of $199.

Review: I SAW A LISTING FOR A HOUSE FOR RENT ON CRAIGS LIST, CALLED THE NUMBER PROVIDED FOR THE HOUSE LISTING AND GOT A SALES LADY TRYING TO SELL ME THE AMERICAN STANDARD ONLINE SERVICES. ME AND MY FAMILY WERE HOMELESS AT THE TIME AND THEY GUARANTEED ME A FULL REFUND IF I WAS'NT SATISFIED SO I QUICKLY PAID THEIR $200 FEE THROUGH PHONE. I FOUND THEIR WEBSITE AND SERVICES TO BE UNUSEFUL AND A TOTAL SCAM. I VISITED A HOME ON THEIR LISTINGS WEBSITE AND THE HOME OWNERS SAID THEIR HOME IS NOT FOR SALE AND NOT UNDER FORECLOSURE. EVERY HOME LISTING ON THEIR WEBSITE IN MY AREA WERE HOMES THAT WERE OCCUPIED BY HOME OWNERS. I CALLED AMERICAN STANDARD NUMEROUS TIMES TO CANCEL AND DEMAND MY REFUND BACK BUT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THROUGH TO THEM BY PHONE. WHEN I DO GET SOMEONE ON THE LINE THEY REDIRECT ME AND I ALWAYS GET HUNG UP ON. I'VE STATED I WANTED MY REFUND AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME TO FOLLOW THE STEPS ONLINE WHICH I HAVE DONE AND STILL HAVENT RECEIVED MY REFUND.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY MONEY BACK IN FULL. THE MONEY THEY WERE SO QUICK TO TAKE AWAY FROM ME AND MY FAMILY'S POCKET, YET SO SLOW (WITH STALLING AND REDIRECTING ME)TO ISSUE MY REFUND BACK TO ME.

Review: So I was just told by my landlord that I have to move out and so I was looling on HAR.com and came across acouple of houses I was interested in and was told to call ###-###-#### to sign up for help so I could get into a foreclose home. So I was under the impression that they would bill me when I found something I liked to purchase. so now im having to basically do all the work and I feel like they screwed me out of $200. Im just now checking out the reviews and they are horrible. I called to cancel being that nothing has been done and requesting a refund and they state they are legit but according to your records they are not. Now I dont know what to do.Desired Settlement: I have not done anything with this company and dont plan on it either according to reviews. I would just like a refund because I live paycheck to paycheck and I thought this was gonna help me hurry up and find a place but I see its not. I need my money so I can use it towards my move.

Review: My wife and I applied to a company stating to us that they would help us get a home. Because at the time we were homeless and so before we had gone through with actually giving them our credit card number. We ask if we were to cancel and want our refund how would we go about it and we're told that it would be 90 days till we could do so and that they would refund us back our money. They did not state to us that we would have to get 5 denied letters from the home owners that are to be contacted and then wait an additional 30 business days. Also that there will be a 10% fee to get our money sent back to us so my wife and I were not told the right information and now are being denied our money back.Desired Settlement: we want our money back and the full amount we gave them and not have to wait an additional 30 days

Review: I pay them 200.00 to help find me a rent to own .. and they I want to mail out letter to the home owner half of the letter came better cause the wrong address this company is a big scramDesired Settlement: my 200.00 back in my account

Review: I tried to cancel my membership about a year ago and was told the request needed to be in writing. So I sent a letter. Now I have again requested a refund and was told I needed to provide 5 denial letters. I don't have denial letters saved from a year ago. I just want a refund from this scam of a company and to cancel my account.Desired Settlement: Please cancel my account and give me a refund.

Review: I have been looking for Houses for a while, about 6 months ago I had come across a number , I had talked to a lady though I forgot the name "representative for "American standards online" I had singed up almost five months ago, every time I call regarding finding a house they get rude or hang up, I tried to cancel my subscription due to the lack of service within the four months of contacting them on and off about 2 or 3 times a week. I had called to ask for a full refund and the keep directing me to the website which I still do not know how to use. I am running out of patience. A friend had suggested to go to the Business Bureau, that is how I discovered this web site. I need HELP PLEASE!!! Do you have any suggestions I am not suppose to sign contract without my leagal guardian and Service coordinator through Arc Of [redacted].Desired Settlement: Full price of Subscription fee $185 "estimate" ( I am not home to look at the bank statement but it is close to that amount.

Review: The person on the phone claims you can get a refund at anytime if you are not happy with the service and gives you a website. Once you get to the website, the terms are non-refundable unless you meet a certain criteria which is 5 deniable letters that the person on the phone does not tell you about.Desired Settlement: I want my $199 back because they told me on the phone when I paid for the service that if I was unhappy with it, I could get a refund. I am still willing to take a 10% penalty charge but this is outrageous.

Review: My husband & I were looking for housing after we had a contract on a property & our loan had fell through at the last minute. Due to a relocation through employment, He had already been in the new location in an extended stay hotel for 6 weeks. I contacted through a online search, American Standard & explained our situation, the representive did not throughly explain what you have to do until my next phone call, after the took our money $199.00They do send you listings of homes, BUT you have to contact the home owners who are in foreclosure & ask them to rent to own there home. We did not have the time to do this, nor would I have wanted to. So, they then sent me a list of 4 rentals, which I already had through realtors & searches in the area. Those homes were already leased to others. I have requested my money back several times. The keep saying after 90 days & I prove that the service didnt work for us, then I can possibly get a refund. I understand every business must have policies in place, but I also feel the need to understand peoples individual circumstances. also need to explain EXACTLY what thier services entails. I do not believe the honesty is there. I own a small business myself and it is upfront honesty and making your customers happy, I feel they have done either. I feel my money should have been refunded the first time. I DID NOT use the service at all. And, they know that, due to account & logins.Desired Settlement: Immediate refund

Review: Refund/cancellation was denied because it did not meet Terms and Conditions. However, when purchase was made, salesperson stated there was a 30-day money-back guarantee and he purposely directed me away from Terms and Conditions; which there is no way to meet:" In the case of Services, a full or partial Refund towards the price paid by the User to purchase the Service may be made provided: 1. Requests for refunds will be accepted after 90 days by certified mail. The request must include at least 5 denial letters from the homeowners you have contacted through AmericanStandardOnline.com2. The Company has, to its sole satisfaction, verified that the delivered Service was materially deficient in providing the Service as stated in its Service Description on the Web Site at the time of Purchase. 3. The verified deficiencies of the delivered Service were not caused by events outside the control of the Company such as slow internet connections, weather, etc."In the first 30 days, I chose not to use the service and asked for a refund. I could not get one because of the above terms. Then contacts I tried to make, never responded and most contacts are so old you CAN'T get a response!!!Desired Settlement: I would like the full refund of $199.

Review: I first ran across the phone number for this company in an ad on Craigslist. They had very many properties listed as rent to own with only one picture of the interior of the home. I called the company and an associate told me that Americanstandardonline.com is a company who connects homeowners who cannot afford their mortgage payments with potential rent-to-own tenants. She said in order to see the specifics of each property and see additional pictures of the interior I would have to pay a fee of $199.00. I asked several questions and she told me if I did not like the website I could get a refund within the first 90 days of obtaining the subscription. I thought about it for a while and called back and got a different associate who assured me they are a federally and state regulated business that is completely legitimate. I made the subscription purchase. I got on the website, there were no interior photos of the homes as I was promised and some of the properties listed on Craigslist weren't even on the website. Also, I was led to believe that this company would be the middleman between myself and the current homeowners, but instead they had generic document templates on the site to contact homeowners myself. I called the next day to request my refund and I was told no, they could not issue a refund until 90 days after my purchase. Their services were misrepresented to me and I was lied to by the sales associates. This business is scamming consumers.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my $199.00 subscription fee.

Review: I was looking for a home to rent in an area we were moving to. I found a listing for a rent to own home on Craiglist, giving the rental price and details about the home. It said to act quickly because the home would go fast. Everything about the ad said that the person posting it had the authority to rent out the home. When I called the number given, I was connected with a "Housing Coordinator" who told me that they would get me into the house, no money down, with just a one-time fee of $199. I was told I'd be given a list of homes they had, but that I could email them with the Craigslist Posting ID and they would send me the information for that specific home. I repeatedly asked about that home and they said they didn't list the address because then people would keep driving by, but once I signed up, they'd send me the information. I was also told that if I didn't end up renting through them, that my fee was refundable.I signed up and ONLY THEN did I find out that they do not have the authority to rent these homes, that they just have a list of places and I can contact the owner of pre-foreclosure homes through them. They did not actually have any ability to list the home that they did for rent on Craigslist nor to rent it out. When I emailed about the home, they emailed back saying the property was no longer available. The ad has been removed from Craigslist. I have saved the Post ID, though.I was told by the "Housing Coordinator" that all I had to do was log on to cancel after 90 days and the refund was guaranteed. I was not informed of any terms or conditions other than that. However, upon reading their terms and conditions - which I could not access BEFORE paying the fee - I have to send a certified letter, have five rejection letters from homeowners, and meet several other stipulations.Desired Settlement: I want my $199 fee returned to me WITHOUT having to jump through their hoops to get it. I was not even allowed to see the terms and conditions before paying the fee and the service rep knew he was misleading me about the house and the refund accessibility.

Review: MAY 2014 I WAS LOOKING FOR A HOUSE/APT I CAME ACROSS THIS COMPANY CALLED AMERICAN STANDARD ONLINE THAT HELPS PEOPLE FIND HOMES WHO ARE WILLING TO TAKE OVER THE MORTGAGE PAYMENT SINCE THESE HOME ARE SUPPOSE TO BE IN FORCLOSURE. THE COST OF THE PROGRAM IS $199.00 AND IF NOT SATISIFIED WITH THEIR SERVICE AFTER 90 DAYS CAN REQUUEST A REFUND AND 5 LETTERS FROM HOMEOWNERS OF THEIR PROPERTY. BUT AFTER LOOKING IN DIFFERENT COUNTIES FROM THE LISTS AND SENDING OUT LETTERS TO THESE ADDRESS THERE WAS NO RESPONSE I CALLED THE COMPANNY TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE PROBLEM. THEY KEPT TALKING ABOUT THEY HAD BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR MANY YEARS. I WENT TO A REALTOR TO CHECK IF THEY WERE ON THE MLS LIST. NONE OF THE HOMES WERE AVAILABLE OR ON A LIST. NEARING MY 90 DAYS I WENT TO SPEAK TO INDIVIDUALS ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF THEIR HOMES. THEY HAD RECEIVED THE LETTERS BUT WAS NOT LOOKING FOR ANYONE TO TAKE OVER THEIR HOMES OR ANY IDEA OF IT BEING ON A HOUSING LIST.THE SERVICE WAS NO HELPFUL TO ME AT ALL. THE HOME OWNERS DID NOT WANT TO WRITE A LETTERS TO GIVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THEMSELVES OR GET INVOLVED IN A SCAM. I CALLED THE COMPANY TO EXPLAIN WHY I HAD NOT SENT IN ANY LETTERS AND AS A MANAGER SHE WAS UNHELPFUL OR HAD NOT READ THE LETTER THAT WAS SENT TO THEM. THE PROGRAM SEEMS JUST A WAY TO GET MONEY WITHOUT PROVIDING THE SERVICE PROMISED.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY REFUND BECAUSE THEY DID NO KEEP THEIR WORD AS TO HAVING AVAILABLE HOMES/APTS FOR RENT OR IN PREFORECLOSURE OR FORECLOSURE AND LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE OVER THEIR PAYMENTS. THE ARE BUYING THEIR LISTS FROM BANKS OR MORTGAGE COMPANIES WITHOUT CHECKING IF ANY OF THE INFORMATION IS TRUE. IF THEY DO KNOW THEN THEY ARE RUNNING A SCAM. I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY AND PEOPLE ARE VERY LEARY OF SCAMS ALL I WANT IS MY MONEY TO BE REIMBURSED.

I called to request information about a house I saw on Craigslist and had failed to notice that the headline indicated that the house was lease to own instead of rent. When the operator realized that I wanted to rent instead of buy, he abruptly hung up on me. Thinking that the call had dropped, I called back and got the same person. He was very short with me and said, "You could do some of your due diligence." I told him that I thought he was being rude. He called me "unsensible" and said goodbye. When I called back to ask the name of the company, a different operator told me the name and again hung up on me. I have never in my life dealt with such insanely rude treatment from any customer service agent, and cannot fathom ever working with a company that treats potential customers that way.

Review: I called on a house in Florence, Tx as advertised on Craig's List, the agent convinced me to sign up for foreclosed properties, but was lead to believe would not be charged unless I found a house I was interested in. Not only was I charged $199, there were NO PROPERTIES even within 15 miles of the zip code I was looking for, let alone the house I originally called on. When I called the first time and asked for a refund, the first girl kept telling me I was using the website wrong. When I insisted to get money back she put me on hold for 10 minutes to wait for her supervisor. He demanded to know why I wanted refund, I explained there was no houses in that area and he said he could guarantee me an updated list with multiple listings in the area by end of day...why wasn't they there before I called???? I've called requesting refund based on not needing their service due to signing lease for apartment. I am disabled and live on EXTREMELY FIXED INCOME!!!! My bank and I tried calling again, I have signed a lease with an apartment complex so I do not want or need to buy a house and both the bank and I believe this is a scam....I HAD TO CANCEL MY DEBIT/CREDIT CARDDesired Settlement: Refund of $199 + $37.50(2x) for NSF it caused for card being charged when I was told wouldn't be until I found interested property...I HAD TO CANCEL MY DEBIT/CREDIT CARD

Review: Unauthorized charges from my checking account for $199. Also received a $30 overdraft because of the unauthorized charges. They refuse to refund the money because of a 90 trial period. I did not authorize these charges therefore I shouldn't be waiting 90 days.Desired Settlement: $199 + $30 overdraft fee refunded

Review: : American Standard Online Preview Report Title: American Standard Online I first contacted this company on January 12, 2014 from a hotel because my apartment building was destroyed by fire on December 27th. I saw an ad on Craig's list for apts and single family homes for rent at very affordable prices. I called AS and spoke to the customer service rep named [redacted] who assured me that the company had a list of rentals that they would send me and they would assist me through the process. I called her twice to confirm that the company is legitimate and would help me. I signed up and sent several emails requesting information on listings on Craigslist. I NEVER received a response on any of the listings and I had to find a place to live quickly. So on my own I found a place not through or affiliated with AS. I submitted several cancellation requests with no response not even to confirm that they had received my email request. I called them in March and was told I had to wait 90 days from the day I signed up to request a cancellation. I sent a written request on April 12 and sent it certified mail according to the tracking number it was received on by AS on April 30th - when I called on April 7th I was told they had not received it yet and was reminded that they had up to 30 days to send the refund and that it would be sent requiring my signature. I called to day and was told the letter was incomplete because I had not provided proof that I had used the service in the way of three denials. This was the first I had heard of this so the customer service rep put a manager on the phone who proceeded to tell me that it is written in their terms that you have to prove you used the service. The original customer service rep did not mention anything about denials etc. So, I'm out of $200.00 and there's nothing I can do about it! I'm writing everyone I can think of because this company is definitely a scam. I tried to log in to my account to read the terms and I have been locked out of the system/ Montecito, California Montecito, CaliforniaDesired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $199 membership fee. The service was NOT what I needed and it was not explained clearly to me exactly what they provided. The cancellation policy should have been clearly explained by the customer service reps I spoke with. Had I known about the "denial" letter requirements I would not have signed up because I was in a hurry to move out of the hotel. If a product is not useful to me, I should not have to go through a "denial" process to get a refund.

Review: I purchased an account with American Standard to find a house for rent. 90 days went by and I did not receive any call backs or confirmation of houses for rent. When I tried to request a refund, American standard said I needed denial letters from the houses I requested to rent. I tried to get denial letters but no one would send me one and in turn American standard would not give me a refund of $200 dollars. The representative I spoke to when I first made an account with this company did not tell me I would need denial letters to receive a refund and I would receive a refund NO QUESTIONS ASKED, which proved to be false information. So I would like to file a complaint against this company for lying and cheating me for $200 dollars.Desired Settlement: I would like my $200 dollars back!

Review: I called this company in December excited to find a home in 3 months I was told when signing up for this service that I would be able to obtain a refund of $199 if I was unable to find a home in 3 months. Once I signed up for the service I realized quickly it was not for me as the search area is not detailed enough for me to find the home I wanted. I told the company they told me to send letters to 1,000 customers and there are not even that many homes in my area on their database so I Printed out and sent the American Standard letter to foreclosed homes not listed on the site as they were easier to search for on competitor sites. After 3 months of sending letters with no luck I called and asked for my refund and was quickly told I would have to obtain 5 letters from homeowners saying why I cant buy a home and all of the owners had to come from their site. I did not find 5 homes on their site that I liked I also do not have a letter from the home owners. The customer service manager then asked me to mail in the letters with a letter from me stating why I no longer want this service. I told him I do not have the letters and I cannot find 5 homes cause their search is not detailed enough and I was told I have a year to complete this task in order to obtain a refund.I believe this company is misrepresenting its policy and not stating the full extent to which its customers will have to go to obtain a refund. I am unable to find 5 homes on this site im even interested in cause none have garage im tired of looking.Desired Settlement: I just want a refund of my $199 that I was told I could get after 3 months when I signed up for this service.
