I had a great experience using Empire The sales person and installation team were professional and personable I had a terrible experience with [redacted] and my expectations for Empire were low Empire was true to their word and the sales person came when she said she would and I had my carpet on the promised dayI would use them again in a heartbeat

I'm sure not everyone has a good experience with this national firm, but I did.The salesman arrived at the specified time, was very knowledgable and personable.Contracted to carpet bedrooms,I had to change install date twice,no problem.Installers arrived on time and date agreed to and were very friendly.Three man team moved and returned all furniture and laid carpet in approxhrsPrice slightly high but worth the conveniance

We were very happy and satisfied with all aspects of our experience with Empire Today's services

When I called Empire Today, the mother company, for an in-home appointment to discuss purchase and installation of a window treatment, the response was immediate. After that? Not so much. While the projected date for our installation was June 17, it was not completed until yesterday, July 26. I had indicated early on in the process that we would be leaving Florida for our primary home in New England, so we needed prompt action on our order. I figured that would happen. After all, when I called for an in-home appointment, the response was immediate. And the sales representative also speedily arrived at our home. As did the measurer/installer from the Empire Today affiliate store in Tampa, FL, evidently the local store contracted by Empire Today to fill our order. I was so wrong. During the lengthy waiting period, I received no calls with an update unless I attempted to phone Empire's [redacted] number to get some information. (Empire Today’s phone records – the company notes that every call is recorded - will verify my many attempts to find out where our product was and when we could expect the project to be completed.) Only occasionally did I receive any information or call back. And when I was contacted with the promise of another call or some kind of action, it was rarely followed up or through on. When I have called the 800 number – the only number available – there is no way to directly speak with the Tampa Store which was actually “servicing” our account. (I even tried the telephone number listed on the Tampa Store’s [redacted] homepage, but got a fax machine.) While dealing with this incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction, I ceased to have any confidence in the product if/when it showed up or its installation. My skepticism was proven accurate when the installer mentioned above finally got to our home. He called earlier to indicate that the remaining payment must be paid in full before the installation would begin. (This fact is stated in Empire's lengthy Terms and Conditions information.) I asked what would happen if there were something wrong with the product or a problem with the installation, and he indicated that was the way it was: No full payment, no installation. I was less than pleased to be told by my friend who was there for the installation that the installer had drilled an unnecessary hole in the wall before determining the proper site. She also sent a picture of the hole which was obvious as was the dust from the wall left on the floor after he left. When I spoke with the installer this morning – I had his number because it was in my cellphone from his calls yesterday – I asked him what had happened with the extra hole in the wall – albeit a small one. He said he didn’t realize the wall was cement so he couldn’t affix the attachment for the pull there. But it wasn’t a big deal: he said all I needed was a little spackle to repair it. I reminded him that I had paid $600+ dollars for what I assumed would be a worthwhile product and professional installation. My experience with the larger Empire Today company in general and specifically The West Florida RevDex.com member Empire Today, located in Tampa, has been totally unsatisfactory, disappointing and exasperating. Incompetence and inconsideration are the only “qualities” I can assign to their performance. My brother was President of a Massachusetts branch of the [redacted] , and I believe he would be concerned with Empire Today carrying the standard of the BBB.

I see that the company added a comment to my review on 03/18/2016, however, I have yet to hear from anyone I had to call and complain again today about this very thing My floor looks like it has cellulite and the puddy that was the "fix" for my seams being having a gap is not correct The floor now has bubbles around the "fix" on top of looking a mess Everyone that comes into my home comments on the terrible job The $I spent was pretty much a waste of my hard earned money

We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding their concernsWe have spoken with the customer and have corrected the billing errorWe appreciate the customer’s feedback and consider this matter resolved

Things were promised made sound like no problem to have done and job never completed to my satisfactionCame back to Empire as a repeat customer, but now doubting why I did Also was told I had to put down 10% and did so then after paying deposit was then told I didn't need to as I was financing but too late for that

We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding their concernsThe local office spoke to the customer on Friday January 27thWe have agreed to a Promissory Note for the term the customer selectedThe Note has been forwarded to the customer for review and signature

We just hired Empire Today, [redacted] Street, Denver, CO to install new hardwood flooring in our family room and hallways I spoke with a representative early in the week and she set me up with a sales appointmant the following Saturday The sales rep was very nice, informative, respectable and arrived on time He helped us choose the best flooring for our needs That day he gave us an install date the following Monday Installers arrived early am and worked each day until pm., finishing our floors in days We choose pre-finished hardwood so there was no sanding and fumes, which was excellent for me as I have allergies The installers not only picked up their tools and refuse, they cleaned the new hardwood before leaving I was so impressed with these two men I couldn't tell them often enough I highly reccomend Empire Today and highly reccomend Clinton ***, Flooring Consultant and the team from Tiger Flooring, Installers! Great guys and awesome work ethic!

"This was our first and last experience with Empire Carpet: Wednesday, 6/15, we were to have the carpet installedThat particular appointment went wellThe guys arrived on time, did a good job of installing the carpet and cleaned up adequatelyIt looks niceThursday, 6/16, the same company was to install the vinyl planking in the kitchenThey were to be here between pm and pmAt 4:pm when they still hadn't arrived, I called their customer service lineThe guy tried to call the installer several times and couldn't get an answerSo he said he would keep trying and call me back when he had talked to themNever heard from himAt 5:pm I called again, the girl I talked to after minutes on hold put her supervisor onThe supervisor Amy said the installer had called in and said that he couldn't come that day because the job before ours had turned out to be too extensiveSo she offered a $off our install price and promised me we would be first install in the morningI said okAbout 7:am the office called to say the installers would be there between am and amAbout an hour and a half later, she called back to say that the time had been moved to between pm and pmNeedless to say I was not happyThe installers did get here a little after pmThe first thing the guy did was walk over to our heating registers and pull them upHe proceeded to tell us that is there could be asbestos in the tile underneath, he would not install our floorHe said that he would require a lab test that we could get at any lab (??)He said it would cost about $to remove the flooring that was thereWe got this whole long dissertation about whyAlso he had the incorrect quarter round, so he couldn't do the whole job that day anywayHe basically refused to do itSo we had to cancel the flooring installThanks for nothing" ? "Actually when I first had my laminate flooring and carpet installed everything was GREAT! However, about years down the road my laminate flooring started to warp and bubble upI hardly had to clean the laminate but when I did it was with a very damp mop and I distinctly remember the sales rep Dave, show me that water would not get between the creases by putting a dollar bill between both laminate pieces, showing that the flooring was "air tight"I finally decided to call Empire because they stated that there was a " year warranty"While speaking to the rep on the phone she asked if there were any leaks in my home or flooding, I stated No, she said that she would need to send somebody out to examine the floors to make sure there were no leaks and there was a $charge for them to come out and assess the damaged areasYesterday 2/10, was the day they were scheduled to come examine the floor and let me know it was still coveredAt 8:am, I received a call from Empire stating that they would be at my home between the hours of am and noon, by pm they still did not show up nor call and let me know that they were running lateI called them, they apologized and said they would be at my home between 5:and 6:pmAt pm they were still not at my home, I called again to cancel and reschedule the appointment because I have a LIFE and things to do besides waste my entire day waiting around for them but they said that they were only minutes awayFinally at 7:pm they arrived, I showed them the damaged area and within minutes they said it was not covered due to water damageI said that there were no leaks or anything but they clearly did not care to hear what I had to sayAfter about minutes of them being at my home they let me know that Empire would contact me and give a quote for redoing the entire floor and the kicker, they said they needed to collect the $fee for coming out to my homeI was shocked but was so upset and wanted them out, I just wrote them a checkBe very careful using this company people and do your research before you decide." ? My entire experience with Empire Today was excellent from customer service sales person and installation personnelI will highly recommend them to everyone needing carpeting, hard flooring etcAnnette [redacted] ,GA??

After signing the contract for an entire house full of new carpet, I started seeing bad reviews about Empire Today I contacted our salesman to let him know that I was concerned He reassured me that the work would be done perfectly Sure enough, the morning of the installation, four men arrived at the appointed time They worked hard, were very thorough, were very respectful of our home and belongings They completed our entire house in one day, and we are very happy We tipped each of the workers to show them our appreciation I would purchase carpet through Empire again

I recommend Empire Today for your flooring needsI made my apptOnline, which was convenientConfirmation was made by e-mailThe sales Rep "Mike", was friendly, knowledgeable, and "not pushy"He gave opinions without judgementExample, we have two dogsWe wanted hardwood flooringMike suggested to avoid hardwoodBecause of claw scratchesHe suggested laminate flooring which is highly resistant to scratches, wear, etc::: Empire robo called the day before to confirm my apptThe day of the install, a rep from The install team called and confirm the appt., the apptTime, the materials, and confirmed the price and method of payment, the names of the install team and how long the onstall should take.:::The install team was processional, extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and installed the laminate in my living room and hallwaysIt looks totally awesome!!!! The Carpet team installed our rug in the dining roomAgain, it looks and feels awesome!!!!We could have installed the flooring ourselvesBut the intricacies of the install, such as the trimming and cutting around difficult corners made me feel totally comfortable in hiring Empire TodayThey started the install at 8:45ish AM and were gone by 2:PMThey cleaned up all there belongings and sweeped and vacuumed the floorsI am definitely using Empire Today for all my future flooring needs.??

Great experience!! Professional & prompt !!

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 10, 2014/09/17) */ We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding her concerns. We have spoken with the customer and advised that the one year installation warranty has expired, but we are willing to re-stretch the carpet for a service fee. The customer... advised that she would consider this offer. We look forward to hearing back from the customer and reaching an amicable resolution.

The entire process from setting up an appointment, meeting with our salesman and flooring installation was stress free and super easy I got two estimates on the flooring I wanted and Empire beat them both Our salesman Andrew was very helpful in picking out our flooring and I did not feel pressured to commit to the sale The installation team was respectful and they did a great job They moved the furniture, installed the flooring, cleaned up and put all the furniture back in place This is the second time we have used Empire No more shopping around for flooring- Empire can't be beat

I am ashamed I chose to work with this company, particularly after seeing the overwhelming volume of negative reviews Summary: [redacted] Do not stand behind their warranties...do everything possible to avoid even having to consider a warranty claim [redacted] Change products every couple years, so that if a product fails within a year warranty period, they say they can't honor it because they don't carry that product any more, but the only way to get the warranty covered, is to go through the installer (Empire) [redacted] Salespeople not to be trusted (Not really surprising, but worth noting): Misrepresented strength of their products; suggested product was explicitly refuted by another of their salespeople as inappropriate for the location The full story: In 2009, Empire Today installed carpet and sheet vinyl flooring for meI was looking for something that would last for a while, so Empire (Salesman Frank) sold me on the sheet vinylHe described it as "incredibly tough" and insisted that it would take almost a deliberate act to make a hole in itHe touted the year warranty to prove it Here we are, and a half years later, and it is in terrible shape! Not only are there more than places in the floor that just ripped up or apart from use, there are also massive warped bulges where any furniture sat, that won't go awayThere is also a stain from water that cannot be cleaned up, which is specifically stated to be covered by the warrantyMost notably, there are the splits...in two locations, the material split apart for a foot and a half, in a perfectly straight line, almost like it was along a seam...but there is no visible seam there The floor has to be repaired or replacedI called Empire's warranty department (on March 12th) and was promptly informed that none of it would be covered under warrantyShe refused to send someone out to even look at the damage to assess whether it would be coveredBut she did happily set up a time for repairmen to come out and repair the damage with the small amount of left-over material I had, which would cost me $I need it done, and it would be cheaper than replacing the floor, so I agreedThe repairmen come (who were fantastically courteous and seemingly competent), they took at look at the damage, photographed it, and stated that the damage not only could not be repaired because they would need a lot more material than I have, but that at least the splits and the warped bulges should not have happened with this material, and were not the result of misuse or abuseAnd they noted the discoloration of the floor compared to the leftover material I have, was so extreme, I wouldn't want it put inThey also seemed surprised that the request for warranty coverage for that kind of damage was summarily dismissed without sending out someone to review said damage I already had an Empire salesman lined up for that Saturday, March 14th, to give me an estimate for replacing all my carpetsWhile he was there, I discussed the kitchen floor with himHe said he'd never seen damage like that, but noted that he had no say over whether warranties are honoredBut he did give me a quote for a "better product," as he said that the floor that was installed never should have been recommended or sold for that room, which is also what the salesman for National Floors Direct said when I had them give me a quote for re-flooring and re-carpeting my houseRemember...this is the floor the Empire Today rep had to sell me on for its toughness, and I foolishly listened I tried to reach the customer service agent for a few days to discuss the issue, with little responseFinally, I got a hold of the salesman, who gave me the customer service manager's contactAfter giving me a story that it would take her a while to get back to me because of folks on vacation, she said she could send me someone to look at the damage, for $75! I expressed concern about having to pay a company money to have them come look at damage for a warranty claim, when it was already clear that they would do whatever they could to avoid covering a claimShe said she would work on it and get back to me soonTWO weeks later I finally got a response after inquiring againThis delay was particularly irksome, since I made the mistake of noting that I have other flooring I need to get done, and my quotes from other companies have a time-limit to their validityI wholeheartedly believe the delay was in part to affect my business with the other companies The manager said they won't be able to help for a couple reasons 1) "The age." Since they don't carry the material any longer, they can't replace or repair itThe age is

I suggest nobody use Empire absolutely terrible serviceThe installers and sales had us keep the wood in my freezing garage for days this winter After calling to have at least managers tell me it's ok finally manager advised no the floors can't be left outside I was then told the installers would bring new product, which they did however I marked the boxes sitting in my garageNeedless to say the installers started putting the freezing wood in half way through thinking I wouldn't notice I called the sales guy and I've yet to hear back from himA company that can put a product in a house knowing it would be a matter of only a couple weeks before the product failed is absolutely sickEmpire should not be in business, it's just not right what they do to peopleIf needed I also have all in writing from the sales guy and installers

Great satisfaction with Empire Carpet The price is significantly lower than competitors and very impressed with the short space of time it took to have the installation done Very professional- highly recommend!

I recently scheduled a whole-house estimate for our home in Fishers, INWhen I requested the estimate online, I specifically marked 10+ rooms which, in my opinion, makes it quite clear that I am looking for my entire home to be re-flooredI received a call confirming my appointment, and also received a follemail reminding me of itUp to that point, I was impressed with Empire's systemOnce the day of my appointment arrived, my initial impression went out the window I was given a window of 2:00-4:pm for a salesperson to arriveShe arrived at 2:pm with no contact prior to alert me that she was on her wayI showed her in and had not even closed the door behind her before she stated she was unable to provide my estimate without my husband presentWhen I informed her that we had decided it was up to me to make the decisions regarding our flooring, she repeated her statementNo reason was offeredThe only thing she did say was that she was paid on commission and that estimates take a lot of timeNot only did she waste her time coming out if she had no intentions of measuring and providing an estimate, but she also wasted mineA simple phone call prior requesting the presence of both homeowners would have sufficed in this situation, but it did not happen We moved into the living room to discuss our needsWhen I told her I would accept a ballpark, no-measurement figure, the sales representative informed me that it would be "very expensive." Obviously it is going to be very expensiveI am looking to get my entire house re-flooredShe repeatedly asked me what we were looking to spendMy response was always that we were looking to figure out how much it would cost to accomplish what we wanted, hence the need for the estimate The rep did not arrive with any samples, brochures, pricing structures or anything to indicate that she was there to provide us with an estimateShe showed up with only her purse in handHer abrupt behavior tells me that she made a judgment call immediately that we either: a) could not afford Empire's flooring; or b) were not planning on actually purchasing flooring from your companyNeither of these is factualThe rep did not even have a business card to offer, although she did look for oneShe finally had to send me her information in a text message, along with the instructions to call her "when we are ready to purchase." Needless to say, that will not be happening
