Ms***,As we discussed over the phone, we apologize for the miscommunication at the time of your enrollmentWhen you enrolled with us on 8/31/16, your loans were in "Loan Originated" and "Deferred" status, due to the fact you had recently completed school on 8/19/We were unable to touch your
loans until the status' changed to In RepaymentWhen the status' finally changed, we encountered some problems when working on your application for your consolidation and repayment programWe did reach out to you via email and left messages requesting certain pertinent information we needed to continue working on your applicationYour file was then put on hold while we waited for the information. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and any other problems you may have encounteredWe are happy to issue a Full Refund of all monies paid to usI will be issuing that refund to you today 3/7/17.Thank you

I contracted with 1File.org to consolidate my student loansI paid the company $to perform this task1file was suppose to contact my lenders while the consolidation process was going on to put my loans in forbearance1File did not do this and my lenders filed on my credit report the my loans were diligent, lowering my credit scoreOnce the consolidation was complete they were suppose to negotiate my monthly payments to be $per month However, the payments are $a month, which is the amount I was paying before I used their servicesI contacted the my new loan service company (***) myself and negotiated a lower rate

Yes I did do my research after deciding to go through with your companyHowever, in the contract it says that if you want to opt out you can call, write, or send an emailYes towards the top of the contract it says there's a "cooling off" period, but further down the contract it says to opt outIn that portion of the contract it doesn't specify or indicate a length of time required, it just says to call, write, or send an emailI've sent two emails all ready stating that I do not wish to use your services anymoreAnother reason I am upset is that *** shared my personal information with my sister*** ** *** *** can only share limited information, and the only person whom they can share that with is my momYou guys on the other hand disclosed all my loan information to my sister, that could've been someone I don't even knowAnother thing, just to prove how much of a scam artist you all are she gave you guys a fake name and SS#, the second time she called, and you guys lied and said that you could help herYou guys told her the same thing you told me, "we can forgive 55% of your loans and all you have to do is pay $and $each month after that"So that's why I blocked your guys' number and why I refuse to pay youNow this will be my third time telling you guys again I do not need your servicesMy loan holders are doing a better job than you guysThey are able to hold my loans in deferment and I don't have to pay them anything while in schoolYou guys are asking me to pay you $600, in four installments, just for filling out an applicationOn top of that I have to pay you guys $every month for years! When I spoke with an agent from *** *** (the company in charge of my student loans) told me it was free to fill out and when I found out that I qualified for the program, they said I didn't have to pay anything for a yearAll I had to do was reapply every year, but since I am in school they said I should put them in deferment.

This company is a scam They represent themselves as a non-profit using .org in their website but they are a for-profit company They claim to be associated with the Department of Education - they are not It is a travesty that they have a Revdex.com rating of A- The CFPB should shut them down
Student loan borrowers can do this on their own and if they can't do it by themselves there are really for profits who don't charge monthly fees for months to help them enroll in the income driven repayment plans

Problem: I was contacted by one of their representatives that was trying to offer me lower payments on my student loansHowever, the person lied about the whole thingAfter paying the process fee, which I thought goes towards the student loansThey never mentioned that there was a monthly maintenance fee of $I had asked the representative twice just to be sure that I'll be saving moneyApparently that was a lieBasically I went from paying $a month to $a month with the new lender plus the $processing fee, $maintenance feeHow is this even consider as Student Loan Forgiveness? Long story short, I was lied to and misinformed thinking 1file.org was my new lender.Desired Outcome: I want them to cancel my contract for misinforming me about saving money on student loansIf they do record the conversation that I had with the repThey should know there was proofI called and ask for an audio recording or some sortBut they were giving me a hard time

Mr*** has been enrolled with us since 1/29/In the contract he signed with us at the time of enrollment (attached), it was very clear that we would be processing documentation on his behalf through the Department of Education and also the loan servicer, which is Fed Loan ServicingEmails are created for clients to enable us to properly manage their accounts, and all information is then forwarded automatically to the client's personal email accounts which they provide to us. Mr***'s claim that the Dept of Education or loan servicer was "unable to contact him", is simply NOT trueMr*** has been receiving correspondence to his personal email since the day he enrolled with us on 1/29/We completed an Income Driven application for him last year and he received an approval from Fed Loan Servicing for a $payment for monthsWhen it was time to recertify his repayment plan, we contacted him several times via email and phone with no response to usBelow, you will see screenshot of an email opened and read by client and also detailed notes written in his file. He has since cancelled his enrollment with us and filed this complaint.

Client enrolled in our service on 4/18/and signed an agreement which in very plain clear English states our relationship and the services in section # (Copy below)I have also attached a Third Party Verification recording done prior to enrollment with the client which clearly discloses all
fee's and payment amounts and how they are applied. As well as clients acknowledgment of all contact phone numbers and email contactsThis information is also on the agreement and in a verification email.SECTION OF SIGNED AGREEMENT2.Nature of Service; No Legal or Tax Advice1FILE.ORG is a private company not affiliated with any government agencyClient acknowledges that the programs that Clients is seeking are available without cost to ClientClients has retained 1FILE.ORG to perform work and processes that the Client could have chosen to do themselvesThe Client acknowledges that 1FILE.ORG is not a law firm, and that no legal or tax advice can or will be provided under this agreementClient acknowledges and agrees that the Services do not consist of any renegotiation, restructure, reduction or other adjustment of the terms of any existing loan or debt. SERVICES RENDERED:Client disputed charges with her bank.We provided all documentation to clients bank confirming all the steps of application , through approval with her current servicer.Proving we put the client in a better position than she was in prior to us filing her paperwork and delivering the results promised. No credit is being effected, in fact her Debt to Income Ratio is improvedThe client application was denied on first attempt as client stated however we refiled and dropped her payment to $from $177

Here is the copy of the receipt that all funds where charged backThere is nothing else to give back, in fact the client misrepresented herself by calling the charges fraud***

Mr*** needs to review his records, because he is completely off with his calculationsHe is either just confused, or a downright liar and trying to scam our company for more moneyMr*** enrolled on June 12th, He agreed to pay an enrollment fee of $599, split up into payments of
$each, and then a monthly service fee of $Thus far, he has paid $599, and payments of $Which equals a total of $So, where he comes up with a "Purchase Price" of $and "Disputed Amount of $is beyond my comprehensionI have attached the Service Agreement along with payment arrangement to this response. On June of 2015, when working on Mr***'s file, we ran into several issues - Payments declining, Adjusted Gross Income Amount provided was incorrect, and Proof of Income wasn't providedWe reached out to Mr*** for months and months requesting he provide us with the necessary documentation - otherwise we weren't able to complete his applicationsIt wasn't until months later, that he finally sent us the documentation we needed!! He emailed his 1040's to us on 5/7/and his application was promptly sent out on 5/10/to the Dept of Education (application attached and also refer to screenshot of notes below)Mr*** was extremely irresponsible in being proactive in the care of his Student LoansThe fact that he ignored our requests for months - obviously made him delinquent with his Student LoansHe was also informed by the Dept of Education, as well as his loan servicing company regarding his delinquency. On 2/24/Mr*** called our office to let us know that his Federal Tax return had been garnished, due to his student loans being delinquentHe requested a cancellation and FULL refundWe did our due diligence in providing the service he contracted us to complete, if he chose to ignore his responsibilities - that is completely his fault. In spite of all of these facts, I agreed to refund him $enrollment fee (see screenshot below), because quiet frankly, I felt empathy and wanted to help him - not because it was owed to him, nor deserving of itI then received this negative complaint of lies regarding the money he had paid and his demandsThe old saying, "A Good Deed Never Goes Unpunished" is quite true in this situation. *** *** **

Mr*** enrolled with an affiliate of ours on November 30, The affiliate's company name is *** * *** *** *** *** *** They are the company who had initial contact with himThey were the ones who quoted Mr*** for a loan consolidation of his student loans and also for
a new repayment planThe role of our company, 1File.org, is the "back end" processingWe process the documentation for the clients our affiliates enrollWe are completely separate entities. In working on Mr***' file, we came across some issuesWe were missing Income Documentation, and also his "FSA" (Federal Student Aid) username and password was incorrectThe FSA is used when submitting the loan applications to the Department of Education, and without this - we are unable to complete the work we were contracted to doWe made several attempts with *** and also sent Mr*** several emails asking him for the information - with no availAt which point, Mr*** sent us an email on April 17th, requesting to cancel and a full refund for the money he had paidI, personally sent him an email confirming his cancellationOn April 18th, I Refunded all payments he had paid us and also sent him email confirmations of each refundThe total refund was in the amount of $- which is the total amount he had paid usWe are not in the business of collecting money from people we cannot help - therefore, the refund was processed immediatelyWe apologize that he did not have a good experienceIf we would've had a complete file with correct information from the beginning, things would have run smoothly. Client Status: Application Completed Client was provide all services contractedThe current servicer sends statement in the Mail directly to the client, we are not responsible for Non payment after the work is completedClient Charged back all of the charges we receivedThere
isn't any more charges that we can return to the card as they have all been charged back

We consolidated his loans, and submitted his application for an Income Based RepaymentUpon consolidation the new loans become a different type of loan allowing for better reypayment programsHowever, Client called servicer at this moment his loans where consolidated and payment was at the "
Standard year rate", Servicer had yet to process the Income Based repayment application we submittedServicer made it appear as the client completed the process on his own over the phone, However that is not the factWe have all the supporting documentation showing the work completed on our behalf. So much of this is misunderstanding student loans, client has been eligible for this program for years and his servicer never advised him as it is not in their best interest or not profitable for them, after we contacted client he is now in a better position and I believe he understands more about his loans

Client signed a simple English agreement which clearly states our relationship and clearly states you can do this on your own, Much like filing your taxes., and in the same way if you call the IRS and ask if they have heard of my Accountant the answer will be NO. GREAT LAKES, failed to tell client he was eligible for years, only after we delivered the approval did GREAT LAKES now explain the optionsYou don't have to believe a word I say to search GREAT LAKES on the internet and find the same complaints. We exist because government contractors like GREAT LAKES are not advising the millions of borrowers of their options, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Report confirms bad practice among all Government contracted servicers. The emails from FSA are from FSA we do not spoof any email headersNature of Service; No Legal or Tax Advice1FILE.ORG is a private company not affiliated with any government agencyClient acknowledges that the programs that Clients is seeking are available without cost to ClientClients has retained 1FILE.ORG to perform work and processes that the Client could have chosen to do themselvesThe Client acknowledges that 1FILE.ORG is not a law firm, and that no legal or tax advice can or will be provided under this agreementClient acknowledges and agrees that the Services do not consist of any renegotiation, restructure, reduction or other adjustment of the terms of any existing loan or debt.- WE ALSO RECORD THIS IN A QUALITY CONTROL RECORDING WITH THE CLIENT AND A THIRD PARTY VERIFICATION CENTER.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I was actually not eligible for the consolidation of my loans into the program until this August, so when file reported that I have been eligible for a long time, that is incorrectThey have not saved me any money, but on the contrary, cost me $1,If they were to have disclosed to me that I could have enrolled in the same consolidation program by myself, then I wouldn't have gave them $1,000. They did not disclose all information in regards to the consolidation when I signed upI believe that I was taken advantage of due to not knowing the specifics of the consolidation and the sales representative not informing me of all the information that he knew about the programI do not agree that it should cost $1,to consolidate student loans, as I did a consolidation of my other student loans by myself with no issues

Ms*** is not a client of oursShe is not enrolled in our systemShe has never paid any money to usWe do NOT have sales campaigns, so the complaint is directed to the wrong company.

For the past two weeks, I have been receiving dozens of calls from 1File.orgI told them multiple times that I am not interested in their services. On Monday, August 15, I spoke with one of their representatives trying to understand what they were trying to do with my informationThat man who claimed to be working with the US Department of Education said that he was calling on their behalf to inform me that my student loans are qualified for loan forgivenessI told him that I have already taken care of my student loansBefore I could finish that sentence he interrupted me saying that he has sent a code to my gmail account and I need to give him the code so that he can confirm my informationI tried to ask him what for the company name and he said that before he could proceed he needed to confirm my identity and I needed to give him the codeAgainst my gut feeling I did, but seconds after I realized that it wasn't just a code to verify any information it was a code to RESET my FSA

I recently enrolled with 1file.org but I think this was a scam seen I haven't got the chance to contact them again and the original *** *** is still calling me to make a paymentI already made payments of and of
The company internet and phone are out of service

I entered into a contract with this company thinking I was getting a good deal on the payment of my student loanThey were asking me to pay $for months (which included their service fee) and then $every month after that until the loan was paid offThey said my payment on my student loan was due nowI called my servicer of my loan and they said I wasn't due for a payment until SeptemberLooking further into it, my payment, according to my adjusted gross income on my tax return, would have been $anyway, which would have been good until September of and possibly longer depending on my incomeI'm so I don't think my income is going to become biggerSo all of this money collected by 1File.org is being taken by themNone is going to my student loanThey even filed a forbearance for me, without my permission, to make my payment $for the next yearI absolutely didn't give them permission to do thisWhen setting up this contract, they set up my account for me,
