Excellent service.

I needed to re-open the document from an email a year later which required a password. Sent an email requesting a password and had the answer in minutes!

Aardvark Research Group Response • Jan 12, 2020

Thanks for the kind words!

We emailed this person his DDon the 7th business day, which was a FridayAt the close of business, as I was walking out the door, he called to say that he hadn't received the emailI asked him to check his spam and trash folders, and then went back inside and personally forwarded him the email again because he still claimed he couldn't find itHe emailed on Saturday morning claiming that he hadn't received the email, and threatening to file a complaint with the Revdex.com if he didn't receive the email that dayI personally went in to work on that Saturday morning and forwarded the email to both the customer and his wifeHe received it, and sent us a text message saying "Thanks." On Monday when I came to work I learned that he had actually filed the complaint with the Revdex.com on the Friday We bent over backwards for this person, and delivered exactly as promisedI will leave it to others to figure out why a person might act like this, but it probably has something to do with missing-out on some spankings he deserved as a kid

If I could give a zero star I would.
I ordered an "expedited" copy of my DD-214 from Aardvark Research Group because the VA never delivered my DD-214 I ordered from them.
I ordered it on December 17, 2019.
Here is a screenshot of their site right now that claims one to seven business days:
***
"WE ARE AUTHORIZED DD214 EXPEDITORS.
OFFICIAL DD214’S VIA EMAIL AND PRIORITY MAIL.
1-7 BUSINESS DAYS–JUST $79. NO TAX. FREE SHIPPING."
Today it is January 6, 2020, (21 calendar days later) and I have no DD-214.
I sent an email to them on January 3, 2020 asking for a refund as I'd never received the DD-214.
On Monday, January 6, 2020 (21 days after my order, 15 business days after my order) They responded that because I requested additional documents it pushes the turn around from seven business days to 10 to 14 business days.
I let them know that it was more than 14 days now, and "so much for "expedited."
Their reply was a direct statement that I was wrong about the days because the archives were closed four days so it was now only nine days, and since we were in the middle of the day it was technically 8.5 days.
I could not believe that instead of getting me a DD-214, or a refund they used the time and energy to argue with me!
WOW!
No matter how many days they want to fight over I've been waiting 21 days for something I paid for that is advertised on their home page as a one to seven day service.
And if the DD-214 can be done in one to seven days, but the other recoreds required more time they could have let me know that in the first week, and they could have sent me the DD-214 in one to seven business days, and then sent the other records when they got around to it.
See, the reason veterans use an expedited service is to get the DD-214 to them EXPEDITIOUSLY.
I asked for a full refund several times and they finally stated they'd give me a partial refund--less the cost of their search.
I let them know I paid for a copy of a DD-214 in one to seven business days and it was not my fault that they did a search and wanted to charge me for that.
Caveat Emptor.

Aardvark Research Group Response • Jan 08, 2020

This customer ordered his DD214, his NGB22, and his Points Statements. When we request documents in addition to the DD214 it pushes the turnaround time from 1-7 business days, to 10-14 business days. That is just the reality, which this customer was unable to accept. When we explained this too him, and showed him where we share this information on our website, he responded by calling our A+ Rated business a "scam" and threatening to ruin our reputation online. When we heard those threats we immediately cancelled his order and refunded him in full minus our search fee.

Customer Response • Jan 10, 2020

In fact I requested the refund.
Their answer instead of the refund I requested--was that the DD-214 was delayed due to the other documents I ordered.
Order confirmation date: Tue, Dec 17, 2019, 1:51 PM
Refund request date: Fri, Jan 3, 9:26 AM
[ELEVEN BUSINESS DAYS AFTER ORDERING A ONE TO SEVEN BUSINESS DAY SERVICE--NOT COUNTING CHRISTMAS DAY AND NEW YEARS DAY]
Please refund this purchase.
1. I NEVER RECEIVED IT.
2. Because I never received it--obviously it did not arrive in seven days.
THEIR RESPONSE - THREE DAYS LATER!
Mon, Jan 6, 9:58 AM
You requested documents in addition to your DD214. This pushes the turnaround from 7 business days to 10-14 business days.
THEY NEVER LET ME KNOW AT THE BEGINNING THE REQUEST WOULD TAKE LONGER THAT THEIR PROMISED ONE TO SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS.
ALSO, WE'RE NOW AT 12 BUSINESS DAYS AND WORSE--TWENTY ONE CALENDAR DAYS FOR AN EXPEDITED DD-214.
My reply Mon, Jan 6, 10:03 AM
This has already been WAY MORE than 14 days--so much for "expedited."
Their reply -- and they're arguing with a paying customer!
Mon, Jan 6, 10:16 AM
No it hasn't. Today is day 9. The archives was closed on 12/24, 12/25, and 12/31. It was a half-day on 12/30, so technically it is day 8.5.

You are really doing this?
You're fighting with somebody who paid you for a service you did not complete as advertised?
Your site claims:
1-7 BUSINESS DAYS–JUST $79. NO TAX. FREE SHIPPING.
Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/ANeZeeA.jpg
My order was on Tuesday, December 17, 2019
That was 15 (FIVETEEN) business days ago.
And while you split hairs into days and business days the reality is I've been waiting twenty-one days.
Since I paid for one to seven business day delivery and Aardvark is now DOUBLE that at 15 business days I'd like my DD-214 at half price.
Let's resolve this, get me what I paid for, and compensate me for the failure of Aardvark to deliver what they promised.
Their reply
Mon, Jan 6, 12:37 PM
We have cancelled your order and given you a full refund minus our search fee.
My reply
Mon, Jan 6, 1:19 PM
No you are giving me a full refund.
It is not my fault you did a search and didn't complete the work.
And if the extra order caused a delay it did not have to. You could send the DD-214 in ONE to SEVEN business days and send the next piece whenever you expedited it.
Please give me a full refund now.
If your next email is not a proof of full refund then the next step is I'm calling my bank and sharing this information with them.
And that will be the beginning of the reputation management hell I'm going to put you through. You are as bad as the VA and ***RUDE*** arguing with someone who paid you EIGHTY DOLLARS for a publicly advertised service of ONE to SEVEN business days and 21 days later I have nothing and you're arguing with me.
HOLY SH-- the world needs to know about you, how you operate, and treat people who trust you.
Footnote: I contacted my bank and shared this information with them. If aardvark doesn't refund my full purchase price my bank will credit me the difference,.

These expediters performed as advertised. Even in a holiday week, I still received my DD214 within the stated turnaround time.

Thanks for the review!

This organization is outstandingThey kept me informed through the process, and did everything they said they wouldAnd delivered on time Very professional, and I would recommend them without reservation to anyone who is in need of getting a copy of their DD

Aardvark Research Group is really awesome After another company I hired did absolutely nothing in weeks time except take my money in the first minutesthe Aardvark Research Group totally came through in under weeks with all documents from my fathers military service in warsThese documents were needed for my mother to receive Aid & Attendance benefits she desperately needsCannot say enough to Aardvark Research GroupSo Thank You! Now if we could just speed up the government agencies that do Aid & Attendance and Medicare benefits that would be great

Could not find my DDfor a job offerAardvark Research was able to get it to me by the short deadline well ahead of the projected timelineThanks again, you saved meOutstanding Job! [redacted] **

I filed my complaint before Aardvark issued a partial refundHowever, I cannot give them credit for receiving my DD-The Deptof the Navy sent my form to me in response to my own faxed requests (several of them, in fact, because they required specially worded statements to authorize email transmission of DD-214s)I accept partial refund only because Aardvark pointed me in the right direction for requesting (for free, mind you) a copy of my DD-within hours of my faxed request to them The fact remains that Aardvark could not fully deliver the service for which I paid and they didn't inform me of this fact until after I expended a great deal of time and effort to contact them to find out what was going onThey should be more attentive to their communicationsCalling repeatedly and never reaching a human is frustrating when you're in a high suspense situationI consider this matter closed, but remain dissatisfied

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 10, 2015/12/14) */ Contact Name and Title: ***, Research Director Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: [redacted] @att.net We ordered this customer's record on 11/24/He emailed us twice asking for a status update, and we emailed him back both timesthe same dayWe emailed him the DDon 12/3/15, which was day of what we advised him would be a business day turnaround (the Thanksgiving holiday was 11/26/15, which always slows the process down because the federal employees at the archives go on leave)The customer never advised us that he hadn't received the emailed copyThe first we heard of it was when he filed the complaintIf he had asked us about the emailed copy, we would have re-sent it to him, or advised him to check his spam

I learned of this group, checked them out, and have a year old father who did not get the DD(started about 1950) because he separated from service in They had to really dig through the archives, were immediately responsive on Emails, and came through My father and I both are grateful and highly recommend this group for military research needs

This customer requested a copy of his DDWe provided him with the copy that was in the Defense Personnel Records Information System (DPRIS)He then asked for a different DDWe double-checked with DPRIS but his personnel file only contained the DDthat we had already provided himHe asked for a refund, so we refunded him in-full minus our search fee, which is $We have no idea if he has a different DDor not, but we provided him with the one in his personnel file, and then refunded him when he wasn't happyThat is pretty much all we can doWe aren't in charge of the military, the federal government or the universe as a whole

AArdvark was very responsive and delivered what they promised in less than daysI was very happy with the service [redacted]

We have cancelled this customer's order and refunded him

I gave this group my money to retrieve my discharge papers, and after 4 weeks they did not contact me. So I sent an email because no one answers the phone there. They responded saying that the information I gave them does not come up with anything, and perhaps I gave them the wrong info. So I sent the info again and have not heard from them, and repeated unanswered emails I am totally disappointed with this so called research group.

Aardvark Research Group Response • Dec 14, 2019

We sent this customer his discharge documents several weeks ago. We haven't heard from him that he didn't receive them. We have responded to each of his emails and communicated with him throughout the process. He was in the ARNG about 40 years ago, and the older ARNG records are harder to track down. On our website we estimate that they can take 6 weeks or more. In his case we had to make 3 separate requests of 3 different commands before we found them, and yes, we did contact him to confirm that his information was accurate, because inaccurate information can cause negative results. We don't know if he called us, but if he did he didn't leave messages, because we call everyone back who leaves a message. Again, we sent him his documents several weeks ago, in exactly the timeframe that we advised him to expect.

I had the pleasure of working with Aardvark while needing a copy of my husbands DD-They were very responsive & sent the doc within a few days via PDF & the official copy via regular mailI would recommend them highly Sincerely Denise A***

Excellent service! I was very skeptical of using a third party to provide my DD214, but I needed the document in two weeks so I decided to give Aardvark Research a tryThey provided my DDby email in days and a hard copy two days later I was very impressed with their communications during the process and that they delivered on timeThey exceeded my expectations!

This poor woman ordered copies of her DDthrough our website and requested that we send them to [redacted] , Office of the RegistrarShe contacted us the same day and asked us to send additional copies to [redacted] , Office of the RegistrarBecause we typically only mail one package to each customer (not multiple packages to several locations), we offered to upgrade her, at no charge, and email her copies of her DD214's, so that she could print them out, and mail them to whoever she wantedShe insisted that we send the DD214's to both locations, because "our website doesn't say that we can't do that." Rather than argue logic with a customer, we agreed to mail them to both schools, and did so, on May 19th, We also upgraded her, at no charge, and emailed her a digital copy to the email address she provided on the order formLater that same day, the customer contacted us requesting that we send the DD214's to her houseWe responded that we had already mailed them to both colleges, as she had requestedWe heard nothing from her for two months, until yesterday, when the customer contacted us out of the blue to tell us she had filed a complaint with the Revdex.comWe have no idea whyWe complied with her demands, and tried to keep her happy, because it was fairly clear to us from the beginning of the transaction that she was dealing with "issues." We wish her well, and good luck
