March 29, Thank you for notifying me of Mr***’ complaint (Revdex.com number [redacted] ) I have investigated this file and found that Harley-Davidson’s Customer Service was contacted on March 1, regarding corrosion on multiple areas of his FLTRXS, Vehicle Identification Number 1HD1KTM10GB Mr [redacted] submitted photos of the affected areas on March 2, A Customer Service Specialist replied to Mr***’ emails, explaining that corrosion is not a defect in materials or workmanshipMr [redacted] was referred to an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer to determine which maintenance product is best suited for his needs Mr [redacted] contacted us on March 15, and spoke with a different Customer Service Specialist who reiterated this information The Touring Owner’s Manual has a section beginning on page which explains Cleaning and General Care of the motorcyclesThis section includes a listing of all tested and approved Harley-Davidson Cleaning and Care Products If Mr [redacted] has any questions regarding the use of these products any authorized Harley-Davidson dealership would be happy to assist Mr [redacted] referenced a brake fluid leak on the motorcycleThis issue should also be addressed at any authorized Harley-Davidson dealer Thank you for contacting me on this matter Sincerely, [redacted] Consumer Affairs

I will meet with someone as they requested once again but my Motorcycle has already a been in their shop times for a radio issue, times for a coolant issue and times for a battery issueHow many times do I need to keep taking it to Harley Davidson and meeting with someoneIf this was a car it would have been classified as a lemonHarley has had this motorcycle over a month this summer to fix warranty items and you can only use it during the summerIT has only 8,miles and should not have this many issues

Thank you for contacting Harley-Davidson Motor Company We have reviewed our files covering the repair of Mr***’s motorcycle Our experts, in coordination with the technicians at the dealership, determined that replacing the damaged components in the engine was the appropriate repair It is our understanding that repair has been completed and the motorcycle has been offered back to the customer As a gesture of goodwill we offered to pay for the next recommended service for the motorcycle or offered a gift card for the amount of a service That offer is still valid

I have investigated this file and found that Mr. [redacted] ’s 2012 FLHTCUTG, Vehicle Identification Number [redacted] was repaired at an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership... located in Bloomington, Indiana on July 13, 2016. Since Mr. [redacted] ’s limited factory warranty expired on October 9, 2014, and he does not have an Extended Service Plan, it is his responsibility to pay for the towing and repair of his motorcycle. Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The passenger seat, also known as the rear passenger pillion, is not so much a seat on this motorcycle due to it's relatively small size and shapeIt is a restraint to hold the driver in position as they ride the bike, a bolsterThis is not a cosmetic situation and puts the rider in great harm during riding conditionsI raised this complaint because Harley Davidson's position, so far, has been to not care for the well-being of their riders and correct this FACTORY DEFECT.After my complaints to the dealership, they agreed that this was an unacceptable situation and ordered new parts to replace this passenger pillionBoth parts ordered and received straight from the factory had THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM as the one that was deemed by the dealership as defectiveAll of the same year and model bikes that I saw on the showroom floor at different dealerships around my area had THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.My hope is that Harley Davidson will take the lives of it riders into consideration when judging the need to CORRECT THIS manufacturer's defect and see it worth while to correct this problem before someone gets seriously injured.If not, I hope that my complaint will show the willful disregard for public safety when operating a motor vehicle and will be used as reference to others to avoid purchasing this model bike (a very expensive option with no backing from the manufacturer on quality) without first demanding this problem be addressed.Regards, [redacted]

Thank you for sharing the concerns shared by Mr [redacted] We do not have any records of Mr [redacted] previously contacting our company directly We also do not show any previous contacts related to his motorcycle, VIN# [redacted] Mr [redacted] statement refers to a “warranty” he purchased through and independent authorized dealer This is most likely an Extended Service Plan with optional coverage for tires and wheels should they fail due to contact with a road hazard The dealership purchases this plan through a company named CNA National Warranty Corporation We would recommend Mr [redacted] contact their service center at 800-527-for further explanation on the coverage or denial of coverage.Thank you for your time, [redacted] Consumer AffairsHarley-Davidson Motor Company

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11842419, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.After many attempts to return a call to Harry I have finally made contact with Chris in the service departmentHe informed me that they have replaced the harness and the bike has run for miles with no issuesThey still do not know what the underlying problem is that caused the issue with the harnessI have asked if they feel confident that the problem is resolved and the response what "we think so"That does not make me feel confident that the problem is resolvedI would like to know that has caused this issue so that we can be confident that the problem will never returnThe dealership also installed an alarm without my consentIt was a nice gesture, but I initially had an alarm on the bike that I had removed due to it daring the batteryAs stated in my original complaint, I would like Harley Davidson Corporate to stop ignoring me and have a conversation so that we can resolve this issue, rather than differing to the dealership that keep saying they are at Harley Davidsons' mercyBy using the dealership as your middle man it only makes communication harder and wastes timeThe dealership has been great and is doing everything in their power to make it rightI do not feel comfortable with the outcome and feel it is time for Harley Davidson Corporate to "man up" and deal with this issue Regards, Robert A***
