November 24, 2015Thank you for notifying me of Mr***’s concerns regarding Revdex.com number [redacted] .I have investigated this file and found that Mr***’s complaint is related to the Digital Speedometer/Tachometer part number [redacted] , and the Fuel Sensor kit part number [redacted] which he purchased and installed on his motorcycle over one year ago Mr [redacted] contacted our Customer Service department on November 23, stating that after the installation he was not satisfied because the Fuel Sensor kit had never operated correctlyMr [redacted] stated he installed the Fuel Sensor kit sometime after he installed the Speedometer/TachometerIt was explained to Mr [redacted] that for correct functionality it is necessary for the Fuel Sensor kit to be installed with the Digital Speedometer/Tachometer, as the fuel sensor adjusts in the first miles of riding, as stated in the instruction sheet which is supplied with the Digital Speedometer/TachometerFor this reason, and the fact the parts are over one year old and out of warranty, Mr***’s request for a new Speedometer/Tachometer is denied Thank you for allowing me to explain our position on this matterSincerely, [redacted] Consumer Affairs [redacted]

Thank you for your response. We have directed Mr. A [redacted] to the dealership as that is where he bought the motorcycle. We are the manufacturer that sells motorcycles to our authorized Dealerships. The dealership is the only one that can work with Mr. A [redacted] on a replacement motorcycle. Harry at the dealership has made repeated attempts to resolve this matter with Mr. A***, but he has not received a return phone call. Please have Mr. A [redacted] call Harry at the dealership today. If Mr. A [redacted] wants to replacement motorcycle, he needs to make that request to Harry. Thank you.

As I explained in my response dated July 3, 2017 the Limited Factory Warranty on Mr. ***’s 2014 FXDC103, Vehicle Identification Number [redacted] , expired on April 1, 2016. position and our decision has not changed
If MrP***t is concerned with the handling of his motorcycle,
we recommend the motorcycle be returned to original equipment configuration and
be evaluated by an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership.

Thank you for your inquiry. Our records indicate that the Limited Warranty on Mr***'s motorcycle expired on April 20, 2015. In the interest of customer satisfaction, we offered to assist with a portion of the cost of the repair. Since the Limited Warranty has expired, we cannot
assist with the complete cost of the repair that was required. Thank you for allowing me to explain our position in this matter

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I understand it, from a purely legal perspective However, I am disappointed that there is no support from corporate in helping to resolve the issue Williams HD was never contacted by customer support--only Powder Keg HD So I am left with entities each saying they are not responsible, and I am left paying the bill With nearly every advertisement geared toward customizing your bike just as you want it, it is disappointing that no one stands behind such a minor customization done before even pickithe bike.I do LOVE the bike, as well as my previous Harley I just hope that I don't encounter any more situations like this

We reiterate our previously communicated response

Thank you for forwarding the concerns shared by Mr*** ***. Our records indicate Mr*** is the current owner of a FLHTCUSECVO Ultra Classic, VIN ***. We were contacted by Redstone Harley-Davidson on 3/14/regarding an issue with the ABS system on
this motorcycle. The maintenance requirement listed in the owner’s manual states that the brake fluid must be flushed every two years. Redstone only had one work order provided to them showing the brake fluid was flushed in by a non-Harley-Davidson dealership. Without access to a Digital Technician II, which is only available to Authorized Dealerships, it would not be possible to fully bleed the system. Due to the lack of appropriate maintenance history we denied any form of goodwill coverage. Please note that the recall mentioned by the customer, H-D recall number 0171, would only cover flushing and replacing the DOT brake fluid. It would not cover the replacement of any parts. The manufacturer’s warranty expired on the motorcycle 5/23/2012. The recall is still showing open on this motorcycle. There is also an open recall for the rear brake switch. These two items may still be addressed by an Authorized Harley-Davidson Dealer.Thank you for your time, *** ***Customer Care
