ACU Technosoft Reviews (272)

Review: On ** Oct 2015 at 6:15pm ET, Acu Technosoft ("the company") pushed a notification message to my minor son's iPhone that reported the phone was infected with malware and viruses and that it was out-of-Apple-warranty and that he should call ###-###-#### to "fix" his phone. My son called and was asked his name and phone number and if he wanted to have his phone "fixed". The company representative intimated his company works in conjunction with [redacted]. to support out-of-warranty phones. My son agreed to have his phone "fixed". He then provided a credit card number. Shortly thereafter, I received an email notification from the company for a credit card transaction in the amount of $29.95 and that I had 24 hours to request a full refund after which time the purchase is non-refundable. I called ###-###-#### on ** October 2015 at 9:55am ET. The number went to straight to hold where I waited for 15 minutes and no one answered the phone. I then immediately called [redacted], the number provided at [redacted], and spoke to a Michael R** from Technical Support. I explained I wanted a full refund. I expressed my suspicion about the company, questioned the validity of the "services" and their business practices of praying on the young, old, or uninformed. Michael said I could of simply taken my son's phone to Apple who would have "fixed" it at no cost. It should be noted, my son's phone was never in disrepair or need of fixing. Michael stated he would pass my request for a full refund to the billing department who would call me back in two hours. I asked to be transferred directly to the billing department. Michael refused. I asked for a supervisor name from the billing department. Michael refused to provide one. I asked for Michael's supervisor's full name. Michael refused to provide it. Thus far, I have not received a refund on the card nor have I received a call back from the billing department. This company is a sham business. Their website has poorly written content, dead links and no evidence of any actual customers. I want a full refund.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund and no further contact from this company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I had a virus/malware pop up on my iPad and I was dumb enough to call and give them info and cc number. They seemed legit but after the whole thing I felt that something was off so after calling [redacted] support found out that they never contact you that way. I am very embarrassed about this because I knew that. But I did give them my info and am now worried about added charges to my account. Phishing scams suckDesired Settlement: I would like to get a refund and ensure there are no more charged if possible.

Business

Response:

Hi, We are not sure how your got our tech support number, though when you called you was unable to connect to internet in your iPad, with a few advanced troubleshooting steps the device was fixed and also it was pre informed that there will be a one-time charge of $29.95 a payment receipt was also emailed to [redacted] & there was a billing verification at the end of the call mentioning that we are ACU Technosoft not Apple we are a third party Tech Support company a verbal confirmation was also take. We can assure you that he was not scammed, also we have processed a credit for the transaction. we work under PCI data protection act and we are third party independent tech Support Company who provides tech support on iPhones and iPads. We never hear from you that you wanted a refund, though we have refunded the amount as we adhere strictly to our customer satisfaction policy.

Review: While I was using my cell phone, a pop-up message appeared saying my phone has a virus or malware. The pop-up message urged me to contact Apple Tech Support and provided a phone number ###-###-####. I called the provided number to intend to reach Apple Tech Support. Company representative asked me to purchase a security package for $29.95 to remove the virus/malware. However, the representative did not connect to my phone to remove virus/malware and install security software to protect my phone as they said. Instead he instructed me manually to clear History and Website Data of Safari and delete Google Chrome browser that I've already known how to do this myself. I think most people know how to clear History and Website Data of browser themselves. This is a scam, the scammer hacked into my phone and sent a pop-up message (which looks like Apple's message) misled me. Please stop them and prevent them from victimizing other people. Most people would be panic when they received the pop-up message and they would be victimized easily. I checked my credit card, it showed they charged me $29.95 two times. Please stop this scammer as soon as possible to help other people to avoid to be victimized.Desired Settlement: ACU Technosoft LLC needs to refund me and other victims and stop scamming other people.

Response:

We would like to inform you that we are not scam we are legitimate business we are a 3rd party independent technical support company for iPhone and iPad we are ACU Technosoft LLC our Toll-Free # ###-###-#### we are not sure how you reached us might have as we advertise ourselves in search engines through that you might have reached us. We see that a one-time support has been provided on your Apple device against $29.95 on which browser cleanup & software update has been done. We are not sure how or why the popup came on to your device. Also we have refunded the transaction and would like to confirm that there is only one successful transaction the other transaction is a declined charge which will be automatically be reversed by your credit card company, a refund receipt is also attached for the reference.

This company does not provide the service they say they do and are really a scam company. When I requested my money back for a service they said they provided but clearly did not they gave me the run around. After over a dozen phone calls they said they would refund my money. They did send me a confirmation Email of a refund but never did give me a refund. Buyer beware. These people prey on the innocent!

Review: According to our cell provider this business is a scam. Unfortunately they got access to our phone and bank information. ($29.95).Desired Settlement: Refund

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

My service provider and [redacted] both explicitly told me it was a scam, which then resulted in a significant amount of time working with my service provider and [redacted] to fix this situation. In addition, as you can see from the multiple other complaints for similar issues on the Revdex.com page for this business, I will not be just taking this business by their word that they are a legitimate business and that my information is not/was not at risk from their access to the phone.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: They told me they were from apple and they would fix the problem if I paid 29.95 to fix it. They lied. I am 80 years old they scared me into giving them paymentDesired Settlement: I want a refund . And hopefully they change their business practices. They are prying on the elderly.

Review: On Jan ** 2015 ACU Technosoft LLC provided me with unnecessary service charging me $349.99, as I found out 5 days after this service was preform, request for full refund was put in. There was number of calls made to this company (20-30 calls since Jan **) but I just got typical “run around”. Some reps have assure me of getting my money back , some told me “No Way!” . In the invoice ACU Technosoft “offers “ full refund to customers if refund request is made within 7 days of purchase, and refund usually takes 3-5 Business days. Well not in my case.Desired Settlement: I want full refund

[I have attached MY invoice from ACU which states clearly:Refund /Cancellation Policy If you are not satisfied with our services then let us know we will try our best to resolve your problem at highest priority. But even then if you are not satisfied, ACU Technosoft offers a full refund to our customers, if refund request is made within 7 days of purchase of our package. Response:

Hithis is the response to the above complaint we have been already responded to the complaint and attached the document of Invoice which clearly says any third-party software sale is non refundable as we are also purchasing the licence but for the services that we can cancel and refund the money withing 30 day of purchase, As we discussed the same with customer but she is not agreeing for anything so its pending for settlement .Hence we would still agreed for the settlement and we will refund the service contract money full but we will deduct the Software cost so as the dispute raised for $349.99 out of that software cost is $199.99 will Non Refundable and Service Contract cost i.e., $149.99 will refund RegardsBilling- ACU Technosoft LLC###-###-####

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have contact this business with in 7 days initially, and I did request refund because I was not satisfied with them and /or service they provided. So what that really means (listed on their invoice)” full refund within 7 days if you not satisfied”, is NO refund at all , or if you lucky you may get 1/3 of your money, who does that? What company really does that , you say one think on your invoice and you do another think with your customers. This is such a Bad Business Practice!

Review: I believe this company is involved in identity theft. They posed as [redacted] Tech Support and got my credit card information from me and charged my account. I hung up as soon as I found on the actual [redacted] website and many others that this company is a scam. This company did tell me not to hang up until their service was complete. I did indeed hand up before they could "finish their service."Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund the money to my account and delete my information from their system.

Business

Response:

We regret to hear from you that you think that you have been involved in identity theft because we work under PCI data protection act and we are third party independent tech Support Company who provides tech support on iPhones and iPads. We never hear from you that you wanted a refund, though we have refunded the amount.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I still have not received a refund of $29.95 on my card. I did e-mail them on January [redacted] demanding a refund, although in their response to the BBC said I did not. They also posed as [redacted] Tech Support both on their phone and on the pop up on my phone which I did take a screen capture of.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We deeply regret to hear from you that even after emailing us you have not received the refund you requested, we highly apologies for the inconvenience caused, a verbal authorization is required to charge your card informing that we are a third party independent technical support company, we are ACU Technosoft LLC. However we have refunded the amount and a copy of the credit receipt is also attached.

Review: Was looking at Reddit when a pop up came up saying there was malware on my iPhone with a toll free number to call. I called this number as the pop up wouldn't go away and was met with someone telling me I needed to purchase security to get the spyware off of my phone. I did question them in which time I was transferred to a "supervisor" who was more worried about my card info than the questions I had, but being more worried that my bank information was at risk I went ahead with the charge. After I had time to look this company up, there were a lot of complaints pointing to scam and that unless my phone was jail broken, which it isn't my iPhone shouldn't of been able to get a virus anyways. Am worried about my bank info and money now.Desired Settlement: Refund and assurance that my personal information is safe, also if truly an affiliate of [redacted] why are there no connections to be made online from [redacted] saying that Acu technosoft is their third party tech support?

Business

Response:

We are one of the leading independent tech support for iPhone & iPads, we advertise ourselves in different search engines. That could be a way you got through to us. You wore charged post a verbal authorization from you informing that we are an Independent Technical Support Provider Company and there will be a one-time support charge after your confirmation your Card was charged. We are not a scam, we are a legitimate business where we work under PCI Data Protection ACT and also check you can check our google rating you can be worry less about any financial info if shared any. Though in case of any issues please feel free to call us on Toll-free# ###-###-####.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This response is ridiculous, they basically repeat everything I said I know in the original complaint I filed against them. Furthermore, by the number of complaints ahead of me, I am not the only person who has these feelings. They also aren't able to actually prove that the payment I made actually did anything, this is most definitely a scam, and I want to be fully refunded.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: While on my phone today an alert popped up saying my phone has a potential virus and that I need to call the number (given as an [redacted] tech line)) to remedy the situation. I was unable to clear the message so I decided to call the number. I was told that in order to clear the message I would need to pay $29.95 via credit card. I told the rep on the phone how do I not know that this is a scam to get me to buy a service? She assured me that they were contracted with [redacted] for service and it was not a scam. Not knowing what to do I paid the money. At the same time I went on to my computer and noticed that the same message appeared on my computer when going into the internet. I was told that they can take care of that issue as well but it will cost an additional $299.95 or $499.99 to fix that depending on what "plan" I want to go with. After debating what to do and feeling helpless I opted for the $299.99 plan, but was told that I needed to [redacted] a check and that they do not accept credit card for security reasons. After having the tech access my computer and install the programs I went online and did some investigating. The programs that he installed on my computer are available free or for minimum amount ($35) online. He also mentioned that the service would protect our wifi connection which upon further investigation looks to not be the case.Desired Settlement: Company should refund the amount for their phishing scam.

Business

Response:

We regret to hear from you that you are not satisfied with the services though would like to inform that it is been mentioned before processing the any payment that we are a third party independent technical service provider we are ACU Technosoft. The $29.95 was a one-time fix up on your iPhone and $300.00 is for 2 Years of Technical Support for Windows Computer and [redacted] Device, the software’s that has been installed they are not the basic versions as you researched in internet, the software that has been installed they are the advanced version which has lots of more layers of filters also they are pre activated for next two years. We understand you paid us in a wrong impression so we are refunding your transactions. Copy of the sales invoice is also attached for reference.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I do however do not agree with ACU's practice of phishing to gain business. The service was not explained to me in detail at the time of the occurrence as it was explained in this complaint. I also NEVER received invoices for the services as promised (and attached to this complaint).

Sincerely,

Very helpful! Language barrier was sometimes an issue, but he stayed patient with me to resolve my issues.

Review: I received a pop up that my apple device may have ad ware and to contact apple tech support at ###-###-####; the gentleman who answered said they were apple tech support and claimed they have an excellent rating with the Revdex.com; I went to this site while I had him on the phone and I told him about the complaints... he hung up on me.Desired Settlement: To pay to remove their ad ware off my computer by a licensed apple service dealer

Business

Response:

We regret to hare form you that the call was hung up on you, we would like to inform that we are an independent technical support provider for Apple iPad & iPhones and our toll-free # is ###-###-####, so we are not sure how you did reach us could be form the search engines as we advertise ourselves.

Review: I got a pop up window on my iPad, preventing me from closing. The bubble and tap kept reappearing. It's under the guise of Apple support. Tells you that you have an adware issue. They ask for your serial #, then tell you you are out of warranty and that there's a 1 time fee. If you don't have the service done, safari & apple will block you! It puts all devices and computers that share the wifi in jeopardy, and all of your security & info is at risk. I called apple and they said they are not support they are third party and have no affiliation with [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want my money back and no future charges. Also I want them to confirm & destroy my information from their system/ database.

Business

Response:

We are sorry to hear from you that it was not explained our identity

Technical Support Company for iPhone and iPad we are ACU Technosoft, we are a

legitimate business based in New York City. When we received your call you was

to the billing team at the end to verify the payment you made informing that We are a third party independent Online Technical

Support Company for iPhone and iPad.

Also would like to inform that as you requested us before we have cancelled the

payment on the same day you called.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

I received a message stating that I had a serious virus on my iPad and should contact "Apple Tech support" at the phone number provided. This message wouldn't go away so I made the call. I was asked for my iPad serial number which made me believe (their intention) that they could fix my iPad "remotely." Instead, they just guided me to a menu item to "clear the browser history" in memory. It worked, but they charged me $29.95 that simple fix.

This company is not affiliated with Apple as they imply. I believe that they, somehow, infect devices through the internet to get unknowing consumers to call them for the $29.95 "fix." This is like the lone glass company in town that breaks windows at night so people will call them for a replacement the next day.

I call that illegal, immoral, and unethical.

I was surfing the web...wasn't on a website that was corrupt some how this scam artist of a company prompt that my phone was in danger when it actually wasn't....so I called even though I had a feeling it was a scam from the start but because I use my phone to gain access to almost all of my business I didn't want to take any chances...first off, if you going to scam people please hire ppl who are fluent in ENGLISH and are trained to be scam artists...after going through this filthy process of I ended paying for there fraudulent service...as soon as I got off the phone I did research on my laptop only to find out this was exactly what it was a DIRTY SCAM!!! I call my bank and I'm definitely pressing charges and getting my damn money back...[redacted] has no third party company working for them...and its sad that this company is so called in business doing things like this!!

Review: While on my iphone using [redacted] search a message was flashed to my phone that a potential thread was detected on my phone and that I should call Apple Tech Support at ###-###-#### immediately to prevent network damages. I attempted to ignore the message but I could not bypass it. I called the number where a man with a very heavy foreign accent identify himself as Steve T[redacted]. He stated they would have to charge $29.95 for the service and asked for my Credit Card information, I was reluctant to give it to him but he was very persuasive. He even stated they were endorsed by the Revdex.com. After the call was done I felt uneasy and did some research on the internet and found that this is all a scam and sadly I fell for it. I also checked your site and found that there are other complaints being made against this company. I would like some feedback from you about this company.Desired Settlement: I have report the charge to my credit card company and they will be handling it as FRAUD.Refund

I am very much thankful to ACU Technosoft support team. The team has helped me to recover my important data from iCloud.

Acu technosoft tech team indeed deserves applause. They have recovered my MAC from serious malware attack.

My iPad screen was frozen and I was actually unable to do anything. Then I get in touch with the tech support team of ACU, these guys are very attentive and recovered my iPad in just few minutes.

Me so thankful to ACU tech support team! My iPod touch was just stuck to the apple logo and I was not able to get out of this. I called up them and they fixed my issue in just a fraction of second.

Review: It seems like this is a scam. I didn't have a problem with my iPhone and a pop-up saying to call this company and pay for virus to be fixed. There was no virus to begin with. Man on the phone said I needed to pay $49.99 and forwarded me to a "billing department". Second man at "billing department" said I needed to pay $29. This is very fishy as I never gave ACU access to even be on my phone. How is it that I get a pop up saying that I have a virus and only ACU can clear the virus and your team is very inconsistent with pricing. It feels like I am being forced to pay for services I don't need. SCAMDesired Settlement: Refund & I would never like to receive a pop-up from this company on any of my devices ever again
