Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]It was certainly a scam. I was told repeatedly by both the people I was in communication with that they area an Apple company hired authorized tech support firm. Who would put their phone number on the pop up, unless there is connection between the person made the pop up and the ACU.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: This company installed "ransomware" on my mother in law's iPad. Use of her computer was frozen and blocked with a pop-up message suggesting she call ACU Technosoft to resolve. When she called them, they charged her $29.95 so that she could get access to her property again.

This is fradulent and illegal practice. We are refuting the charges and I did not contact the company to resolve because this is criminal activity and no point in negotiating with criminals and fraudsters.Desired Settlement: This company should be brought to justice and not allowed to engage in fradulent ransomware any more. It's owners and officers should be brought up on criminal charges.

Review: I was on my I phone yesterday when a pop up appeared saying I had a malware virus and I needed to contact ACU techno soft right away at ###-###-####. They represented themselves as representing Apple tech support. They asked me for information and the serial number to my phone, and had me clear my safari history. They answered the phone using apple as there support.

They said they were accessing my phone and getting rid of the virus even though I never saw my phone do anything. They also charged me 30.00 dollars on my credit card which I provided them with my information.

They sent me an e-mail confirmation and now I can't locate it. My reference number was [redacted]. I am beside myself right now.

Review: While using my iPad, a pop-up claiming the device had a virus appeared, and it told me to contact Apple Tech Support at ###-###-####. I was told to purchase a security package for $29.95, and I did. The rep said to call ###-###-#### if I have any further problems. I told my son about it, and he sent me a news story revealing this to be a scam. Now I'm concerned about identity theft, as I paid by credit card.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $29.95 I paid for them to "repair" my iPad.

Business

Review: I was led to believe through my internet on my cell phone that my phone wouldn't work until I paid $29.95 to this company. Nothing was wrong with my cell phone - something I clicked on on the internet - likely a site from this company - led me to believe something was wrong with my phone. I don't know much about cell phones and fell for this scam. I later looked up this company because I felt I had been scammed and found a bunch of complaints online. I know [redacted] phones don't get viruses. This company said it was affiliated with [redacted] and this is a lie. I would like my money back. I called the company and your employee was very rude and basically admitted this was a scam - yet wouldn't refund my money. As one person posted online "[redacted]". This is what happened to me.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my $29.95.

Business

Response:

We regret to hear from you that, we would like to inform you that we are a third party independent technical support company, we work for iPhones and iPads only. We are not sure how you came through to us, we are a legitimate company with legal business we are no scam, however we have refunded the $29.95, a copy of the credit receipt is also attached.

Review: I was charged an unauthorized fee on 11/**/15 which I stumbled upon in my bank statement. There was no email or written correspondence regarding the fee and when I emailed the company, they wrote back and merely said I would be credited back my money within 3-5 business days. Today, 12/*/15, the money has not yet been credited nor did anyone respond when I emailed the company yet again demanding an explanation and a refund. In my perception, this company has stolen money from me and I will be calling the corporate headquarters tomorrow.Desired Settlement: Full refund of my money and erasing of my private credit card information.

Business

Review: ACU Technosoft LLC pop up screen disable my IPAD from accessing the Internet. It gave me a phone number to call to release my internet. I contacted Apple Support they said their was no reason for that services. They told me at no cost how to clear the pop up without payment? I paid $ 29.95. I want that reimbursed. Also, stop that pop up from activating.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: I feel I have been scammed. My iPhone froze and directed me to call [redacted] to cure a virus in my phone. I got what I thought was [redacted] support. It was ACU Technosoft llc. They said because my phone warranty was up they had to charge me $29.95 to fix my phone. They said all computers, iPads and iPhones were compromised by the virus because the network was being tapped into by others. They remotely were demonstrating this to me on my Mac computer. I fear they have access to my personal and financial information. I want validation they don't and that they don't have access to my computers, iphones, iPads, credit cards or other information. This is distressing. I also want a full refund.Desired Settlement: As well as a full refund I desire validation that ACU Technosoft have no access to personal or financial information. That ACU Technosoft llc has no access to my network, computers, phones or other devices. That they have not shared my information with others.

They said that they were apple support and said that there was a one time charge of $29.95 to clear the virus and they would send a confirmation email. I followed their instructions and paid the money. The message went away.

I told my daughter about the problem with my ipad as I have no knowledge about technical matters. She was highly skeptical and read the email and realized that this was a scam, and looked it up and found the information on the Revdex.com website regarding this exact situtaion. We are contacting the credit card company, ACU (which is not answering the phone) and apple.Desired Settlement: Refund of $29.95

Review: I received a block on my safari app on my [redacted] iPhone that suddenly popped up.

It said it was an [redacted] technical support center and if I wanted to unfreeze my browser I needed to call this [redacted] support site to prevent malware and virus invasion of my [redacted] device. "[redacted]"

So, they put the fear of God in a person, then they

charged me $29.95 to go into my settings on my iPhone, click on Safari and clear the website history.

Basically they charged me to undo what they had created. They seemed legitimate, smooth

with any questions I posed and took my credit card number address and sent me a copy of the bill.

I later learned on a website fraud search that this happens to many people when all they need to do is swipe up to clear the browser and then go in and clear the history.

We should not be charged for this.

They told me my 3 month [redacted] warranty for my iPhone had expired for soft ware.

I will be reporting this to [redacted] as well.

Please take the "B" rating off your site.

They are thieves!Desired Settlement: Money credited to my visa, do not recommend them or give them an F rating by the Revdex.com.
