Review: This is a internet phone scam. They crash your Iphone with a "system failure" message not allowing you to use your Safari browser. They give a number to call saying they are [redacted] Support company. They ask for credit card and address info before fixing your phone. They dont' really fix your phone they just walk you through a standard Safari clear settings that I could have done myself. They are not affiliated with [redacted] or my phone carrier.Desired Settlement: I am disputing this charge with my bank but want you to know they are NOT "AAA" rated. They've only been in existence for a few months and already have similar complaints.Refund

Sincerely,

Today a message appeared on my iPhone stating that my phone had been exposed to a virus. I was asked to pay $29.95 to fix the problem. I gave my credit card info and the issue was solved but now I'm uncertain that this is a reputable company contracted with Apple to respond to issues like possible viruses in software.

very, very happy with service I received

Review: There is no mention of the location of Acutechnosoft when being urged to call the 888 number ASAP to avoid having this virus to invade personal information. I was told the cost is 29.95 but never was told in US currency. I was billed 39.00 (exchange) .

Found out later that they are located in New York. What a scam ...

Don't understand they knew my name, address, etc.

Very scary.Desired Settlement: Refund

Business

Response:

We are sorry to hear from you that you was never told that the charges will be in US Dollars not in Canadian, as our service area is USA and Canada might be because of that there was no indication of the Toll-Free#. However at the end of the call the call was transferred to the billing team to verify the payment you made on March [redacted] 2016. That time it was explained that we are ACU Technosoft LLC. We are a third party independent Online Technical Support Company for iPhone and iPad. We are no Scam we are a legitimate business based in New York City, working under PCI Data Protection ACT. As we understand that you are not happy with the services we are refunding the charge of $29.95 USD. Copy of the refund receipt is attached along.

Sincerely,

Obvious con artists. I called their support number which shows up as apple tech support on their pop ups 15 times now to collect more info. I used several approaches. When I said I was law enforcement, they hung up immediately. When I followed along and they asked for my serial number, I said this is a scam and they hung up immediately. When I asked one lady why she chose to work for a scam company that steals people's money, she got very embarrassed and said its very corrupt there (Philippines) and that its so hard to find a job. Then she hung up. Another guy refused to acknowledge they were in the Philippines and insisted they are in New York. Revdex.com please do something about these con artists before they steal any more money from the unaware.

My experience with ACU Technosoft was very pleasant and everyone I spoke with was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. I would definitely give them a 10 out of 10 rating.

Acu technosoft tech team indeed deserves applause. They have recovered my MAC from serious malware attack.

Review: I got a pop up on my Iphone saying that there was a virus and it wouldn't let me into safari it told me to call ###-###-#### immediately to have the virus removed because all of my personal information was at risk. When I called the number they told me that the were contracted through Apple and they asked for the phone number to the Iphone and when I gave that to them they said that the warranty on my software had expired so it was going to cost me $29.95 to have this virus removed and to ensure that this would never happen again. I gave them my credit card and paid the $29.95 I felt not right about giving them my credit card but I also was worried about the virus on the phone. When I got off of the phone with them I called Apple and they said that this was a scam and that Acu Technosoft, LLC was not contracted with them.Desired Settlement: This company to be shut down and not to be able to take advantage of anyone else.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because I was told on the phone that you work with apple and when I contacted apple they told me that was not true and that the pop up that I got on my IPhone telling me that I have a virus and that I need to call ###-###-#### for apple support was really Acu Technosoft. Apple says that they have never heard of you and they don't stand behind you. I think this is a scam and so did the person I talked to at apple. I have had to cancel my credit card because of this. I want my $29.95 back.

Review: Company didn't fix anything. Took our information, stole our money, and tried to fix an unbroken iPad. The scammed us, told us the iPad had a virus, when it was completely fine. Company is a scam and fraud and took our money. The iPad doesn't have a virus and the company tricked us.Desired Settlement: I want my money back because the company tricked us into believing we had an issue when in reality our iPad was completely fine.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Got a notice while I was searching on my web browser on my iPhone and decided to call the number since it said it was Apple Tech support. First of all, they have nothing to do with Apple and should not advertise that because it's misleading. Secondly, after they fixed my phone they took my credit card info and charged my card and said it would be ten before a tech would call back and almost two hours later they still have not called back as well as have not sent me my receipt even though I called back multiple times to get it back and just got the runaround. Will never recommend this place to anybody and don't know how they have an A- rating.

They fixed my mac and its working fine. It was a wonderful experience.

Review: This company was a pop-up on my phone saying I had a virus when I found out from [redacted] that evening I did not have a virus. This company intimidated me by saying I could not have gotten rid of it without their help and it would cost me $29.95. They said all my financial information was not protected and people could get it from my phone. I called [redacted] after I got home and they said it was a scam, because these people know that the [redacted] business could have told me how to fix it over the phone at no charge.Desired Settlement: They knew all I had to do was call [redacted] and they could have told me to do the same things they had said for no fee. [redacted] confirmed that they took advantage of me by intimidation.Refund

Business

Response:

Hi, we like to inform that $29.95 has already refunded on Jan [redacted] as requested on the same day a copy of the refund receipt is attached. when you call us on [redacted] that time your device was effected with viruses and our technicians did helped to clean out the device that could be the reason when you got your device checked again nothing was found, would also like to inform that this is not any scam and you was pre informed that there will be a one-time charge to fix the issue and with your verbal authorization your card was charged.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Yes, I appreciate the refund. I argue though that you knew [redacted] would not charge me to fix (what was NOT) a virus. You made me feel as though it was a threat to my financial information also. You need to tell customers that they can call the maker of the phone and get it corrected for free instead of charging them and saying you need it done right away. It was intimidation to pay you for a service you knew [redacted] could do free of charge.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: They said they represented [redacted] and advised through a pop-up message that locked up my phone that I needed to have [redacted] Service clear it. They said that I did not purchase the important security program to protect my phone. They charged me $29.95 to install the program and clear my phone. Later on the same day I learn from the local [redacted] that Acutechnosoft does not represent Apple. That I had been misled and lied to about their service and product. They also did not send a promised email confirming their service. They have not responded to my request to have my money refunded.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money refunded and a written guarantee that my iPhone and the information on my phone has not been jeopardized.

Review: Unsolicited popup appeared via cellphone stating phone had a virus and to call an [redacted] number. 18 yr old son did so and was advised to enter a credit card number and was charged 29.95 to make the problem go away. I believe this same company caused the problem as neither myself nor Apple has any connection to this company. I believe this is a SCAM. One only need look at their web page which seems real until you read it. It is written in complete gibberish and conveys NO useful information. They do not answer their "Contact us" number. I had to cancel my credit card to prevent any future unwarranted charges to my account.Desired Settlement: Refund of money and investigation into the legitimacy of this company. I was dismayed to see the Revdex.com gave them a satisfactory rating.

Sincerely,

Me so thankful to ACU tech support team! My iPod touch was just stuck to the apple logo and I was not able to get out of this. I called up them and they fixed my issue in just a fraction of second.

Review: My phone said it had a virus and all my information could be stolen but if I called the number provided (apple tech support) they could help. Well I gave my credit card information for the $29.95 fee and I am worried about identity theft. This was not apple but a third party that have had many complaints about this being a scamDesired Settlement: Would like a refund and to know my personal information(credit card, phone serial number)are not at risk

Response:

We are third party independent tech Support Company who provides tech support on iPhones and iPads and we work under PCI data protection act . You have called us while you are facing some problem in your iPad and the same has been resolved from our technical team after you have agreed to purchase our one time support plan.We are a legitimate company and are doing business from past two years. We never hear from you that you wanted a refund, though we have refunded the amount as per our customer satisfaction policy.

My review matches exactly with the "Additional Complaints" located within the Revdex.com Complaints section. My question is: ACU Technosoft claims to be working in conjunction with [redacted], and has website [redacted], where you pay and then activate their "magic cure" for your "virus laden" cell phone and all associated devices... how do they cure your phone, what is the method for removing the viruses and instilling the enhanced security?

Review: I got a message on my IPAD that it has a virus and to call Apple Tech Support right away by dialing [redacted]. When I contacted them and asked if they are indeed Apple's Tech Support Group, the Representative whose name I asked for said that they are indeed Apple's Tech Support Group. She even offered to give her employee number. I was compelled to verify this information since I was already suspicious about the whole thing. This Rep told me that to remove the virus, I need to pay $29.95 to install a new security measure on my IPAD since a new one is needed every 6 months. Due to the message that keeps popping up that my IPAd has a virus and that I was also blocked/unable to use Safari, I agreed to pay the amount using my [redacted] and providing associated information needed when paying by credit card (I.e. Name, address, card number, security code, etc). As reported by other Revdex.com complainants, I was asked to go to Settings and clear History and Website Data. After doing this, I was told that the virus is gone and that I can now proceed to use Safari. I realized that I probably click on a link or something during my [redacted] search that led me to getting their virus message and caused blocking of my further use of [redacted] until I contact them. The Rep I spoke with asked for my email address to send a receipt of the $29.95 transaction and that was how I found out that I dealt with Acu Technosoft LLC and not Apple. My principal concerns about this is that this Company should not be allowed to continue with this deceptive practices/scam. I am also concerned that they have now gotten all my information and who knows if they can proceed to use the information for identity theft purposes.Desired Settlement: Discontinuance of deceptive/misleading advertisement/service and refund of amount charged $29.95.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response by Acu Soft was inadequate as they were referring to a different email address ([redacted]). My email address is [redacted]. I also checked my [redacted] account and a credit of $29.95 has not been posted/processed. Therefore, I am not sure if their response is for a different complainant and the credit made is for a different account.
