I was using the browser on my iPhone when I received a message that my phone had been attacked by malwareThe message said I should call Apple Tech Support at 888-262- I closed the browser, turned off the phone and turned it back on after minutesI still could not use my browserInstead of the message, selecting my browser numerous times took me to an email message that had the subject line "Call 1-888-262-9415"There was no email address in the To lineI called the number and spoke to a representative named Anna who had a thick Indian accentAt one point during the conversation, I asked her who she worked forShe said Apple Tech SupportShe even gave me her "employee number." At the end of the conversation, she said I would see an app on my phone that said ACU ProtectAt that point, I knew I'd been scammedThis happened on a FridayOn Monday (this morning), I disputed the charge on my credit cardI called ACU Protect to cancel the chargeI was told the charge had been reversed, but I'm having my credit card cancelled anywayThe location services no longer work on my phoneI'm going to have a friend who's wise in the ways of Apple products take a look at it

Obvious con artistsI called their support number which shows up as apple tech support on their pop ups times now to collect more infoI used several approachesWhen I said I was law enforcement, they hung up immediatelyWhen I followed along and they asked for my serial number, I said this is a scam and they hung up immediatelyWhen I asked one lady why she chose to work for a scam company that steals people's money, she got very embarrassed and said its very corrupt there (Philippines) and that its so hard to find a jobThen she hung upAnother guy refused to acknowledge they were in the Philippines and insisted they are in New YorkRevdex.com please do something about these con artists before they steal any more money from the unaware
