ADT required me to update equipment Although they do not advertise it they lost a law suit for having un-encrypted and un-verifiable cellular signals form wireless ADT security systemsIt led to a system upgrade requirement that they attribute to us having a 2G wireless unit and their system now operating on a 4G or LTE system When they sent me notification it was required that we update the hardware The upgrade was supposedly free of charge However, the contract that we ended up signing was contrary to what we were told on the phone The contract locked us into a year contract I feel that this was deceptive and not true to what we were told on the phone I paid an early termination fee to cancel this contract It took three separate phone calls just to cancel ADT security monitoring for my rental property A royal waste of time and it cost the remainder of the contract just to cancelThe upgrade was required by ADT, yet the cost was passed on to me and I had to pay t

I renewed a three year contract with ADT on July 1st, I was then sent a letter on July 23th stating they would no longer be dispatching the police to my home in the event of a burglary The by law was updated on July 1st and I should have been made aware of this term on the phone prior to renewal I tried to cancel my contract as they are no longer providing the service that I had initially agreed too This is criminal Upon attempting to cancel I was told I would be charged $to get out of the contract The terms and conditions of the contract changed and therefore I should be able to cancel thisI was falsely mislead into a contract that they could not deliver

On May 14th, I contacted ADT due to concern over my account bill being too high compared to a competitor (who was willing to buy my contract out if I would switch) On that same day I was told my bill could be lowed if I switched to the Pulse Video service and that ADT would give a huge discount on some new smart servicesI agreed to all of this with the installer scheduled for the next dayDuring this time, I also set up 3-pay for the equipment with the first payment coming out June 15thI received a call back about hours later with the technician apologizing for incorrect information and that I would have to be charged an extra $100+ dollars for a electrician to come outThe technician mentioned she would give me one month free due to the trouble (which I never received) ON May 15th the installer installed everything except for the NEST thermostat due to the electrician not being able to come outHe charged me for the NEST since I would have m

ADT installer came to home asked me where I wanted my keypad and installed itThen asked for a tour of home Tried to change my ordered from what I had specified in my hour phone call the day before with the customer service repAfter I said I just want the package I discussed when I ordered Charles said well I'm sure they discussed price and I said yes and he said $a month I said no both customer service people Sarah and her manager said $and I showed him my notes from the call He said we can't do it for that price because I didn't have a land line Again I showed him my notes and where they told me it was cellular Charles called his scheduler who said there's nothing they can do I asked about the holes in my wall in my entry way who would repair them? She said she would transfer us to customer care wher Charles spoke with a representative He said he would need to consult with his manager He came back on the phone and asked Charles to take it off speaker Charles then told me he needed to speak with his manager and he went out side to make the call Charles came back in and said my manager said you gave me permission to install the key pad so we don't have to repair your wall, sorry and left I told charles where to put the key pad based on the service package I was sold Charles said before he left that the customer service reps often sell customers stuff that can't be done and it puts installers in a bad position My recommendation to Charles on his next install would be to go over the package first with pricing before drilling holes in someone's brand new home and then leaving the homeowner in a bad position with holes because the they were offered a bogus package This company didn't display good customer service and I hope they replay the hour long order call that I place where cellular was mentioned and the price several times BEWARE!!!

adt sent me a bill for in jani paid it I thought that was high so I called them they said they will lower it to only thing I got is door alarms that leaves theysuppose to give back to me they refuse to I called them wrote letters to them they said they will not send it back to me my account nois XXXXXXXX they said why they raise it because it was in my contact that's a bunch of bull I got this service in and it don't say a dam thing about that

Good Afternoon,
It is with extreme disappointment that I send this email requesting immediate cancellation of serviceMy service was installed less than an hour ago and I must say that the Technician sent to install was horribleWhen I agreed to the service, I was told that I would receive items that were not provided at the time of installThe technician also informed my husband that he would not mount the keypad due to there being a $mounting fee??? Unfortunately I was in a meeting at work during the install and therefore limited in what could be done to resolve this matter
My husband then offered to pay the $fee, and the technician told him he was unable to do it after all because he had another job in Bolingbrook and did not have the hardware either wayThe keypad was left on my floor, pictures below
There was also an authorized charge to my credit cardI called the Corporate Office, to voice my concern and was told there was nothing that can be done
I am writing as I was told a email had to be sent in order to cancelPlease accept this as my formal notice of cancellation notice
This is by far the worse experience I have encountered as a consumerBased on this experience, I would not recommend ADT Companies to anyone, EVER

What ADT installed is not what I ordered, yet they say I am locked into a year contract, "bait-and-switch" fraud
ADT and I agreed to have continuous recording cameras and door bell camera installed When the tech arrived for the installation, he informed me that the cameras only recorded for minutes after motion is detected He thought I should know since it wasn't what I ordered We agreed to not have the cameras installed and that I would need to speak with someone in sales So, he left, only having installed the door bell camera I spoke with ADT sales and mentioned that I did not get what I ordered and would like to cancel the contract They said that I couldn't since the door bell was installed I feel that it was a bait-and-switch and should not be tolerated Since I did not get what was originally agreed to, I believe the contract should be voided

When I first inquired about getting an alarm system through ADT, I talked to a lady on the phone She told me that it would cost me $for months Then I scheduled a man to install the system He told me that it was $49/month Then I have received an automated phone system phone call telling me that I owe $ I called a lady and she told me that the cost of the install was $plus $40/month plus the $

Unfortunately, there is no option to leave a star review for this company They stand for protection, as one of the best on the market, yet they lie and make promises over the phone just to get into your home so they can charge you twice as much as they quoted you over the phoneHow do you trust a company that has no integrity to protect you in the time of needThey told me I was getting a rate of $for a cellular connection over the phone and told me that landlines are outdated technology, however when they came over and already started installing the system, they told me my rate would be $after I asked to confirm it They are supposedly going to investigate the call where their rep and a manager confirmed a $rate for me but only to take disciplinary action, not to help me outThe manager I called to have this discussion with was rude, said she couldn't help me and encouraged me to cancel I called the ADT corporate number and they said that was Protect Your Home ADT retailer and while they provide monitoring and own the account, I still need to talk to Protect Your Home During the set up, the tech accidentally set off the alarm and the police showed upminutes later Both the tech and police said it wasn't up to them why it took so long It is sad that this is one of the top security systems available I wonder what others are like when this company operates like a basement run operationI will be disconnecting my service in two days before it's too late

Hands down I was so appreciative that he came outHe really helped me through things and I feel so much more safeAnyone who gets him is seriously lucky because this man has fallen into the right positionYou can tell he really enjoys what he does and you can tell that by the way he treats his customers, how good he is at explaining things, and how much he cares about safetyI would want my mothers and my grandparents to ONLY get himI said a prayer after and thanked God for bringing him into my life to help me out with this

I have been a very long time customer When my service was interrupted due to a fault with their equipment, I called for a technician to come to the house I was told it would be days before they could arrive Supremely bad and unacceptable customer service Everyone should know this

I have repeatedly called ADT to cancel my contract as well as sent a certified letter through the mailI am still receiving notices saying I owe money when I have asked to cancel my serviceI am not pleased with the customer service I have received from this businessI no longer want this service and have expressed it to ADT repeatedly but have had no success

After deactivating the security system at one address and establishing services at my new address, I have continued to be billed for both addresses over the past months Though I have been told I would receive a refund on my credit card, this has not happened I have requested to be released from my remaining contract and am waiting to hear back Though the individuals I have spoken with (about total) have been pleasant, I am dissatisfied with the unnecessary time and money lost, as well as the lack of resolution thus far
