System never functioned for a month - will not credit
Initial system was installed 5/10/17, not completely and started malfunctioning within daysMultiple contacts with "management" has resulted in a new install today, 8/25/Emailed text dates/documentation to Derrick *** in Customer Loyalty to get credit for billing from past months and cannot get a replyCalling billing they transfer me to customer care who is saying it's a billing issueNO ONE will take care of it and continues to pass on to someone elseI have been a customer for years and have NEVER had such as mess as this, and terrible customer service, for months

ADT failed to provide service for my account in a timely manner They also failed to respond to my phone call during an alarm in a timely manner meaning the phone was not answered and I was sent into their automated answering system As a result I have cancelled my service They have also explained that I will owe them for days service and a $cancellation fee that I do not recall agreeing to Now they cannot provide me a copy of my contract without a waiting period I consider them to be a very unethical company that has no interest is providing quality customer service In my opinion they have breached any agreement to provide service with me and there should be no penalties for cancelling their service

Forty years ago, when we first had ADT, it was a good companyI believe they have grown too big and now could NOT care less about their customers nor the security of their customers' homes

ADT was unable to install the system at our new home (once because they didn't even show up), yet is continuing to charge us the cancellation fees

cancelled services with ADT, march 8th 2016,as per contract with days notice,official cancel date was 4/08/2016,since then have been sent multiple bills with different amounts,have paid what I owe off.now I receive for a charge of for something that supposedly happened on 10/16/ 2015,months ago,was never billed for that back in 2015,was not on final bills,except after the fact.Have tried talking via phone with ADT cannot resolve issue,please HELP

Adt authorized dealer the defenders are as dishonest as they come they lie to you and scam you into a contract without the services they guaranted they tell you you have to wait 2-weeks for equipment that way once you figure out they lied you can't cancel the contract cuz it's over three days

This is the absolute worst home monitoring business I have ever dealt withAfter being with them for years I was moving and called to request a transfer of services as I had just recently upgraded my system and was committed to another year of service with themDuring my phone call I was advised that it wasn't as simple as transferring my servicesI was told I had to leave all equipment installed at the old address (I'm going to go ahead and assume that this is just a shady way of attempting to attain more business from the new home owners) and a technician would have to come out and assess the new propertyOk ADT fine...whatever you sayUpon meeting with the technician at the new house....he did his so-called assessment and informed me that the new install would cost 1700$ and I would be committing to a new three year contractHa! UnbelievableI originally decided to bite the bullet and pay the 945$ cancellation penalty....rather than pay 1700$ for the install and 50$/month for a cheaper package at the new address....I was receiving more at my old address for 39$/month...the original install there was 300$!

I was lucky to find someone who wanted to take over my contract and got out of this mess unharmed financiallyI currently have my home monitoring services with Rogers smart home monitoring! Great service as long as you have a good internet connection! Smart bulbs, smart thermostat, cameras with 24/monitoring and recording, door locks, motion and door sensors....all for 0$ installation and 34.99/monthAND...I can unplug everything and take it with me when I move at no costyear contract
ADT you are awful and no one that knows me will ever use your servicesI work in real estate and know a lot of peopleYou lose

I WAS A CUSTOMER FOR A YEAR UNTIL I MOVED ( YEARS CONTRACT), SO

I have had horrible experiences with ADT after the sale of my home and moving to a new locationThey were supposed to do a transfer and instead have charged me a cancellation of $I had a year contract and was in my second year, paid yearly and on timeThey have been completely unwilling to revisit the issueI and my fiance have called multiple times and they refuse or give the run aroundHow hard it is it to consider it a transfer?? Worst customer service and liarsI was told I will have a day trial to try out the system and decide if I want to keep it or not, if it works out for my familyTurns out, you have only days to cancel but days to downgrade or make changes to your plan!!! Even when the technician comes to your home he says the same thing (days to try the system and then cancel)Read everything you sign because when I was signing, he said I was signing that he was at my home and installed the system but tricked me to sign the contract stating that he informed of day cancellation which he never did!!! Now I am stuck with a system I don't want because I cannot afford over $1,to cancel! Don't trust ADT!! You try to get a hold of a manager of the branch and he won't even return your calls! When you speak to the represenatitives, they say they will not do anything for me because of the contract and the day rule which again, when you call to set up the appointment to install the system, they will tell you you have days!!!! They say one thing but do anotherSTAY AWAY from ADT!!!! I will never recommend it to anyone and make sure to write more reviews of their horrible service and how they trick their customers!!!

I returned $worth of equipment to ADT, but never received a refund
I cancelled my ADT service within the approved 3-day window I returned $worth of equipment to them on 8/12/16, fo r which I was to receive a refund in 7-business days I have called times to request my refund, most recently on 10/12, and each time I was told that my refund was "coming in 7-business days." I am due a refund in the amount of $immediately

scheduled install of wireless system Price quoted on phone was to cover all "openings" Technician arrived, and there was an "upcharge"
after cancelling initial install, was contacted by the company, and they said there was a misunderstanding and could they re-schedule they re-quoted a price and we rescheduled, again, the technician arrived and we were told that there was an "UPcharge" Even talked to the manager and he said the people that quoted the price and scheduled the install didn't know what they were doing
This amounts to a BAIT & SWITCH practice as no one ever mentioned a limit on the number of "opening" in a single story house Based on the Techand the Manager's conversation, we should have only doors (front, back and Garage) and windows

ADT has fraudulently been charging my credit card for an account that was supposed to be transferred and later cancelledThey refuse to rectify

There are multiple recurring payments in the amount of $showing up on my credit card statements which are fraudulentWe had an initial account at an address located at sapphire falls and instead of transferring that account to our new residence, ADT incorrectly created a second account which was never authorized or acknowledged

About a month or so ago, a technician came to my home check to see what was going on with the system First he told me that I needed to pay him at the spot $in order to proceed with his job The number of months I have been with ADT and have had technicians come to the house to fix issues I have never been told that I had to pay directly to the technician nor a bill will be sent to me While I asked him if he could bare with me to speak with a ADT representative for clarification, he was rude, very impolite and while my one year old son following me and was by the door; the technician open the door and hit my son on his face and while I defended my son he also hit my unborn child At the time I was months pregnant After he did what he did he got in to his vehicle and stormed off I immediately called to ADT to file a complaint against the technician My system is still not fixed and I am stuck because it does not work properly and I am really frustrated with everything I have gone through with ADT since the first month All I want ADT to do is break my contract and let me go for good but for one reason or another they are being so ignorant and finding excuses why I cannot get out of the contract Hopefully in this review/compliant ADT will be able to help me out to break my contract
If anyone is reading this, please do not go to ADT; customer service is horrible and also their technicians Please reconsider and do research before signing a contract

ADT has two accounts they are separately billing me on I have contacted them more than six times (each time taking about an hour) and each time they tell me "we found the problem and it is resolved"Then I get a collections bill from themThis started when I updated my system within the last year in late (I have been a customer since with no problems prior to that),
The ADT salesman (which opened a new account -He never closed the old account)So I get billed for both accounts for the exact same houseThe ADT salesman was actually a subcontractor (even though I called ADT directly to set it up - they sent out this subcontractorwho wore ADT uniform- a dangerous scam as this guy has now disappeared and and I cannot contact him - and ADT calls it a security service!) This is totally resolvable- one house, one bill, that is all I askStop double billing meWhen I call ADT and they tell me it is resolved, they refuse to send me a confirmation email or letter! Instead they call me at all hours asking why I haven't paid Omg, it is maddening

Equipment is poorly installed had to call several times for failed equipment lie about services tell you u can transfer services with the fact being u have to start a new year contract like u are a indentured servent I have being paying for unused services for the last year and half because I refuse to do another year contract with these liars with horrible equipment and service One serviceman entered a extra code into my key pad allowing him to excess my key pad for later when I contacted the supervisor he said it could not be done only to find out the have excess for hour to your key pad after they leave when I confronted the supervisor by text he could not be reached by phone or text don't trust ADT liars liars liars untrustworthy bad equipment poor service thieves

Parents long time customers Became ill and I requested service cancelledWas told to write a letter and have father sign it, mail to address on Vaughn in Aurora, the cancellation would bebackdated to date requested Did all steps requestedCompany received such letter on Sept 7, requesting service cancelled as of Sept 1, All steps followed as per the directions given by customer service repReceived new statement, after being on hold for minswas told it is day cancellation notice

ADT is not friendly to long-time customers When you are a new customer, they are happy to have you then when you have equipment problems (mine hasn't worked properly for years), they can't guarantee they will be able to fix it or even give an estimate of how much it will cost without paying a service fee They knew what the problem was and it wasn't a mystery how much window sensors cost (for them) it shouldn't have been that difficult to get an answer on why something has been malfunctioning They just want to send someone out to test and ensure everything is working - well this is exactly what they did in the beginning and it has never worked correctly
Originally I was going to stay with them because it was easier (already had everything installed) and upgrade to home automation with my current system But, after talking to the sales person, they couldn't guarantee they would be able to fix the problems I was having with my window sensors or give me an idea of the cost So, when I called to cancel the upgrade, they told me they couldn't refund my entire amount because a payment would be coming out soon and I would receive the difference after the payment came out Then I decided, why am I even with them, paying for a system that hasn't worked in years? So I cancelled everything and was told I would receive the entire amount Well, guess what, I didn't receive the entire amount, they still took out a payment, even though the agent promised me he had cancelled all payments and removed a payment source when he canceled my service
So, now I don't even know if they did cancel my service since it will take a MONTH to get a confirmation letter
Super dissatisfied and nobody offered to make things right about fixing my system until I told them I was cancelling service - only thing they care about
Oh, now after an hour on chat, they are telling me I need to talk with someone else I hate ADT and will never use them again! If this does not get resolved, I will be filing an official complaint

ADT has not supplied the complete protection for my residence that was implied
For several years now I've been paying a monthly fee for the peace of mind that my residence would be protected at all timesAs the result of a service call today I learned that under a multiple power failure situation, the system battery would be depleted, not recharged, and therefore leaving completely unprotected in the event of further power lossThis could lead to a life threatening situation, if my wife and I were sleeping during a home invasion while the power was off, or possible loss of my home's contents, if we happened to be away when this situation arose
