In I obtained an alarm system for my home When I obtained ADT I was planning on keeping them for a whileHowever I lost my job in February On January 14th I contacted ADT and advised them that we would be relocating because of my job loss and because of my job loss we were losing our home ADT's response was well you can transfer your serviceI advised them that we would be relocating to another state and would be renting so that was not an option I was then advised that I would have to pay an early termination feeI could not understand thatNo where in their contract does it state that if the contract is on the person and not the property and nowhere in the contract is there a moving clause Yes their contract states that if I cancel the contract during the initial year term I will have to pay 75% of the remaining total monthly service charges But me not being able to pay was out of my control I did not sell my home and move some where else I lost my jo

Trying to transfer services and being charged an outrageous fee
We have been with ADT for the past few years and always tried to be great customersRecently we moved and asked to transfer servicesThe technician/sales rep came to our home and informed us that instead of transferring services, ADT would ask for six months up front for renting an apartment which could come to as much as $We have just spent $in moving expenses and we can't afford to pay $Due to the fact that we can't afford this fee, our services have now been terminated which will lead to us being charged hundreds for early terminationEither way, ADT will be charging us hundreds of dollars that we can't afford

ADT has deceived me with deceptive practices on more then one occasion however specifically this event is what my complaint is about

Several weeks ago I received several phone calls from ADT regarding an upgrade to my radio basystem; I was told that an upgrade from 2G to 3G is needed in my homeI explained to each caller from ADT that I was positive that my radio was a 3G radio(I am completely surprised that ADT does not have any idea of what equipment I have in my home)I reluctantly agre

By far the worst company ADT/SAFE STREETNone of their reps know whats going on, aside for the lying salesmenI was told once price until they spent hrs in my home and changed the price to higherThey aren't a real company they contract people outThey refuse a supervisor on numerous occasionsI was told if I pay my bill for the years in full I would be given free months, in fact the agent did the math wrong and then denied me the two monthsWORST ALARM COMPANY CANT WAIT TO SWITCH TO A BETTER CUSTOMER FREINDLY COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

ADT installed a home security system in my home on 03/12/on March 19, the system began to give fault issues which had alarms going off all night on this day ADT asked me to power down the system and they would have a tech come out and fix it the following weekOn March 22, my thermostat which is also from ADT began powering my AIr conditioning unit on and off every minute after hours on the phone with them no resolution was reachedA tech came to the house on March 23, and replaced the equipmentI am writing this complaint on 03/24/and the thermostat is broken again this will be the second night this week my three kids have to sleep without air conditioning due to product issues with this companyThis is a safety concern and is also causing damage to my air conditioning unit, and increasing my power bill significantly

Started as a customer in May 1, and I already find that contacting them is a MAJOR issueI waited on hold for over minutes just to speak to customer service about unenrolling in the Easy Pay although I never enrolledI called a week after installation with questions and was transferred over times before I had to demand to speak with a supervisorADT is a very popular and we'll known company but I'm confused of how they conduct businessIt's frustrating as a customer to have to be left on hold for such a long period of time

I was new to the neighborhood and received a sales add about ADT home security on my doorI called the Rep Name Antoine *** He came out to my home and explained the service to usI agreed to go with ADT as my security providerOn the morning of my installation I believe it to be 11/02/Mr Baker cane to my home so I could sign my contactThe installation time was from 8am-4pmThe gentleman arrived at 12:45pm to install the equipmentWhile he was there he was on the phone during the entire installation with someone else giving him instruction on how to install the equipmentHe was there until 4:pm and he didn't not complete the jobAt that time after I took off work and spent my entire day at home waitingThe technician then informed me that the equipment he brought with him did not work therefore he will have to return the next day to finishHe returned the next day with equipment and once again he was on the phone with someone in

I know this will be brushed aside, just like any other large conglomerate in this countryIt seems like large companies like ADT are just worried about the revenue stream than the customerWhich is really sadI have canceled my subscription today after renewing for another years because of a problem with their sales force which is incompetentI called three weeks ago and was quoted a video surveillance system for $and I was specific with my requirements with it being ethernet based cameras and after going back and forth for an hour with the sales team they said we were all set to go with an ethernet based video surveillance systemWhen the tech showed up at my house we started laying out where the camera's where going to be placedHe said they are WiFi cameras and needed a power sourceChecked the sales ticket and sure enough it was WiFi camerasAfter talking to the tech, he said the ethernet setup would cost $to installAfter talking to three managers about this at ADT, they said that they will use this as a training opportunity but will not help me at all with the coast differenceI then canceled my service, called a local company which took over the same equipment ADT had in my house plus had the ethernet based video surveillance system installed at my house for $with cameras and a door bell which also records live videoThis will be the last time I will ever use ADT for anything in the future

On July 13, I reached out to ADT for ServiceThe salesperson I spoke to was more than accommodatingCall took 45minService was set to begin on July 30, I was a little disheartened that the first time slot that was available was the day after the two week vacation I was taking to move into my new homeBut, Oh wellOn July,13, I get a call from ADTSorry for any inconvience we are going to have to change your appointment to July 31, There was a problem with scheduling"Not a problem"Then on July 23, I received one call at 1:43pADT Scheduler said they needed to switch my appointment to August 1/ wait no July 30th Sorry we can keep you at July 31st the appointment take to hours we can schedule you in the morning so the installer will have time to get the job completedNext call the same day at 2:24pWe can schedule for July 31st but the appointment window will be 12p-5pm?????????? OK I called ADT on July 31st, my appointment day as I was a little confusedIf the appointment arrival time was between noon and 5pm, how would the technician have time to do the job? Do they work late? So, the first person I spoke with I stated my concernHer response, I can help you with that, I just need to get scheduler involved, I'm going to put you on holdShe actually put me back in the queAnother person picks up, asked what was my call aboutI said didn't the other rep explainShe says what other rep? I ask my question againPlease don't put me back in the queNo, I won't and if we get disconnected, I'll call you backLet me check with dispatch on an ETA"OK" Tyler is going to be your technician and he has a short jobHe will be there as soon as he had completed his current appointmentI assure you he will start before noon"OK, Thanks" Tyler actually calls at 1:22p says he should arrive about 1:45p"Ok, I'll be there"Tyler comes in we walk the area, confirm equipment and then he asked for the modemI needed to confirm something with my husbandCome back and Tyler ask me to sign the contractThen says, I may not be able to complete the job todayAt the most, I can be here hours but the job will take longer with set up and programmingSo I upset as I had to take yet another day off to get this security system completedOK, will you be here in the morning to complete, "NO"Ok, when? Yeah, I won't be the one coming out and things could get turned around with two people working on the same jobOkay???? Tyler packs up , walks out and doesn't apologize, say thank you or good byeHe just walked outWhatever, I call ADT customer service get the run around for minutesI was offered a month of service for freeThat didn't match the amount of money I was losing missing work two daysCustomer service offered August for service to start between 8am and 10pmThree weeks no security system!!!!!

This company works and contracts out to liars and cheats and they do not have any integrity as a business

BEWARE, I ended up with a multi-year contract on a system that didn't work I thought I was safe because I paid extra for the ADT repair service agreement, where ADT repairs the system if it doesn't work, but that was a scam too because ADT still required me to pay to repair it I ended paying $to terminate early

They will not honor a contract that I have with them for one year they're demanding a three-year contract out of me which I did not sign

Representatives have conflicting billing information, lie about doing things and make unauthorized charges
March 13th I was informed that due to a past due balance, I would automatically be charged the full $balance instead of the monthly amount of $54~March 14th, I make a payment of $of the $balanceI called the company to remove myself from autopay since calling is the only way to do soOn Mar 31st, I was still automatically charged $162.10, the remainder of the past due balanceOn April 3rd, I called to cancel my services and to get a refund credit for the unauthorized amount taken from my cardThey said they would start the refund process, it would take 3-business days and that I would be charged a cancellation fee for cancellingI asked for documentation to support their claimThe email I received from them as proof showed a contract start date of 11/14/which would be well out of a year contract rangeI went through the cancellation process
