I recently learned that our ADT monitoring service is a dangerous and expensive waste of moneyWe've had ADT monitoring in our current home for over years and years at our previous addressWe are required to have a landline with our ADT monitoring serviceRecently our fire alarm did not go off but the fire monitoring system sent an alert to ADTThe ADT representative tried to call our required landline which was two feet from where I was sitting and could not get through because the system was using the landline to send the alert so she left a message on our voicemailShe then telephoned my husbands cell phone and left a message when he did not answer and she stopped thereWe previously provided ADT with six emergency telephone numbers, #1.our home phone,# 2&my and my husbands cell phone numbers and # 4,& the home and cell phones of three more parties in the event of an emergencyEventually ADT called the fire departmentYou can imagine our surprise when the pounding on our door turned out to be the local fire departmentWe learned that the time lapse between the original alert and fire departments arrival at our house was close to minutesThe fire department is just a couple of miles up the road from our houseWe were pretty upset to learn that the fire alarm had not sounded and that the landline cannot be used during an alertHad there been a fire upstairs while we and our dogs were downstairs we *** have been injured or worseWe don't feel comfortable leaving our dogs home alone or safe at night when we're asleepminutes can mean the difference between life or death in an emergency situationI was going to upgrade to ADTs wireless system however we were informed by an ADT representative that the 'upgrade' is not compatible with our unit and that our daughter who has the newer wireless system receives fire and intrusion phone alerts several times a dayShe has notified ADT and they have sent techs out to no availShe is worried that she will not know when a real emergency occurs resulting in the injury or deaths of her dogsWe've lost our trust in ADT, and most important our sense of safety and securityI'm currently looking for a new system and monitoring company

There are several components involved with this complaint First the technician took over hours to transfer my service He left for at least 1.5-hours in the middle of the service basically holding me hostage at my house until he decided to come back He gave no estimates on how long this "errand" would take He left and later that same evening the alarm started beeping After hours I still did not have a functioning alarm I called ADT and they told me they could only offer a hour window for their follappointment, which I explained was unacceptable After requesting to speak to a manager someone "found" an appointment that had a hour window The technician comes and claims the new board that the original technician installed was "bad" Apparently this one was bad too because it once again started beeping less than hours after he left I also see they fraudulently charged me twice even though I only authorized them to charge me $ They said oops and would

The business is run terribly from the sales side of thingsThey attempt to use high-pressure sales tactics and fear to drive you to buy their productThe guy I was talking to literally hung up as soon as he knew I wasn't a sale - not even a "thank you" or "goodbye" to my own "Thanks"
Outside of that, they have no tracking whatsoever on their call systemI asked on Friday to not be contacted for a monthBy Tuesday morning, I had been dialed more timesCalled back and asked a second time to not be called for at least a week - the next morning AGAIN! After that person saw the note saying a week, he obliged to not call for a week, but hours later I was back on the phone with ADT
To anyone who reads this, don't fall for their pressure to immediately buyThe business is literally based on volume of people who are scared of a brebecause their reps make it sound like you're nextThat doesn't actually fit everyone's situation, so think before you buy

Defenders Inc, installed security system on July 9, 2016, this installation was discussed and agreed to be a month to month service, instead Defender, Inc entered a year contract service agreement that I did not sign or authorizeI ended the servie with ADT on February 12, 2018, paid the account thru June ADT has since accessed a $balance for fees owed through the reminder of the contract Had serveral telephonic discussions with ADT Security Services related to this matterThis matter has since gone to collection with Virtuoso Sourcing Group for payment

In April 2014, my husband's job moved us from the Philadelpha, PA area to the Houston, TX areaWe had ADT Services in PAUpon moving, we were advised by ADT that we could transfer our current service or pay a fee to opt outWe were unable to pay the $600+ fee to opt out, so we decided to transfer our service
Our service was put on hold for about months while we lived in a hotel in Houston, TX and searched for a houseAs soon as we closed on our house (June/July 2014), I called ADT to transfer our contractA serviceman was sent to our new house to install the security servicesWe opted to add two more sets of door alarms, as we now had entrances to the house instead of from our previous houseWe agreed to the additional cost per monthFurthermore, the serviceman informed us that he was unable to connect our services throu

ADT keeps taking money out of my account after cancellation Proof of payment has been sent three times of old bill and now sent to collections
On 8/20/I first got a bill for a charge for a service call The service call was 4/21/I called and spoke to "Kim" on 8/28/14, who had me fax the proof of payment from my bank to her
I then kept getting bills, and began calling, faxing, etcSpeaking to Daisha and Karen, ***, Dawn, Catrina, Kenny, Corey All different dates
They would send notices that they were going to take the money directly from my account, I would call and say the did not have that permission
I tried to cancel the service, since it kept going off when I wasn't home and didn't want another problem with a service call bill, but they said I couldn't cancel until I paid the past due bill I again told them it was paid
And one time they ignored my directive and took $ They refunded it, thankfully
I thought finally they had fixed the issue when

On Dec my wife contacted ADT by phone to request a quote for monitoring services on a previously installed hardwired systemOur initial consultation occurred and after repeated assurances from the ADT Representative MrNeray Walker that the present special included a 6-month Money-back guarantee and rewards for referrals we agreed to immediate installation
We provided three referrals and were promised a to weeks, $gift cardAfter the stated time this offer was denied by the Representative
Went on emergency leave , country of Bahrain for the next four weeks and observed the following:

ADT Pulse installed 7/25/2017.Service not working accurately.Called our tech and ADT last night.WE have been given no help and runaround ALL day!

My alarm package was supposed to include a cellular unit, but come to find out, one was never installed

I have been a loyal ADT (formerly Brinks) Customer since In 2016, I contacted the retention/loyalty team to inquire about upgrade options and was offered the ADT Pulse Live Video package for $29/month (a great deal, which I appreciate) as well as equipment upgradesA key impetus and selling point for my pursuing this upgrade was that signals would be sent via Internet and Cellular (instead of phone), which meant that I would be able to eliminate my landlineI suspect that the oversight occurred when the original salesperson "ordered" your new Total Security panel, which includes cellular, but the installer decided instead to install a SafeWatch panel because it meant he could keep my original hardwired, recessed sensorsFor clarity, I did not have a preference either way, but the *** system has worked very well out fine outside of this issu

ADT Security services decided to charge me a total amount of $for no reason they never told me that would be a charge for cancellation they told me it would be a free cancellation and that I would never cancel because they are really good
They are pretty bad and zero customer service
I had a problem with the installation of the cameras on my computer and they didn't know how to fix it
Finally I have decided to cancel my account
Even after calling them, they left they're equipment in my place and I cannot change my security service if they don't come and disconnect theirs

I purchased the basic package from the Safe Home dealer, the salesman walked me through the process and contract, told me about the prorated charge for the month and was pretty helpful and friendlyThe technicians took about and a half hours when the sales guy said it would only take an hour and a half but other then that it was fineI guess it really depends on the dealer that you go throughI checked with http://www.diyhomesecurityguide.com before I decided to go with ADT

Protection aka ADT had me sign a contract for years even though the sales representative checked and confirmed that the maximum in CA is a year contract which is what we discussed I'm foolish to have not checked the contract sent to me through an e-signature program, but it was a very hectic time due to my move and I messed up This was years ago and now that I want to switch out of them for poor quality equipment and lackluster customer service, I found out that I would have to pay $700+ to get out of the contract I absolutely hate this company

Three weeks ago I contacted ADT to inquire about changing the passcode on my (Non ADT) alarm systemThe representative (supposed supervisor), explained that there was $fee associated to tech coming to my home to assist, but he was going to send me a $Visa card to offset this chargeMy question to him was, "why would ADT do this for free?"His response was, "it is so we can offer you more products and service while in the home"I explained that I would entertain the idea of having a monitored service, but for the time being, I just wanted a passcode changeHe agreed and an appointment was scheduled
Upon the arrival of the tech and trainee, he asked where my control pad wasI walked him and his trainee to the pad and explained the above (first paragraph) verbatimHis response was that he understood and will need to look at our system firstI walked him to our bedroom where the panel is housed and left him and his trainee to perform their reviewNot at any time did I mention that it was acceptable to install any hardware or that I agreed to a monitor serviceThe process went on for roughly an hour and a halfThe tech came to my kitchen with a number of products and began to propose a planIn the process he knocked my pregnant wife's purse off of the counter onto the floorAt which point he looked down and said "that's tough, that's tough"He did not move or make any gestures to pick it upI finally walked over to collect all of the items off of the floor and picked it upAt this point my wife had seen enough of this rude display and lack of concern and wanted the techs to leave
I explained to the techs that it is time to leave the propertyAt that time the lead tech explained that the system is installed and that it will take some time to finish his workI AGAIN explained that I did not authorize any work aside from a passcode reset and asked why did he proceed and why did he not follow the direction given by myself and the home officeHe explained that he does not take direction from home office and that it is the home owner's responsibility to explainThat is a major disconnect in and of itselfHe urged me to confirm that I want service via the link provided in an emailI responded by saying I don't know that I even want the system and that he should have never installed the equipment without my approval or consent
I have called ADT and their affiliate several timesIt is an endless amount of empty apologies and dead endsEach person routes me to someone elseI finally reached a number to cancel and the rep was extremely rudeShe explained that in order to cancel service I must fill out a form (which I was never provided) and return it back to the companyI explained that I have no such document and I don't have an account to cancelI HAVE NO CONTRACTShe said, "Write that you want to cancel on a piece of paper and fax it" I said I will not, she stated "well I have informed you on what you need to do.." I asked to speak to a supervisor at which time she refused
The performance from the tech, customer support and every person I have dealt with is patheticI have wasted hours of my time trying to resolve thisAs far as I am concerned, the responsibility to retrieve the hardware is on ADT and I will take no further actionI fully expect a refund and will not accept any further charges

ADT will not honor my military orders to backdate a cancellation request to and provide a refund for payments made by me since that time
I established service with ADT in *** in 2012, at my residence at *** *** *** *** *** ** XXXXX, account number XXXXXXXI received military orders to move in 2013, at which time we called ADT to cancel our service

I had Adt put a pulse system in my home in October I had some extra's added with the basic package ,a second motion detector window contacts etcHave had no problems till I decided to add video surveillance cameras I contacted the sales department inquiring the cost and monthly monitoring fees The representative quoted me to have the camera's installed and that my bill would increase dollars which I agreed toI set up a appointment to have the technician installI could not have been happier being that I can look at the cameras remotely since this is a second home and not my primary residenceWhen the tech left I signed a document with the breakdown of what he had done well it wasntWARNING after I signed thinking it was just adding cameras that I paid for it I signed a Year contractMy problem is when I called to inquire and ordered the camera's the representative never brought to my attention that I would have to sign a new contract.I spoke with Adt about this matter they pulled the phone records and once again the representative never mentioned a new contractand Now after endless phone calls they refuse to do anything but get me months monitoringIf I had have known that I was signing a new contract I would have had they put me a complete new system with camera's at half the price

On Wednesday November 16th I had an appt to install service at a new location that I am moving to The tech came out and began the install process, however, before he could start installing he stated I needed to pay, I stated to him the Rep who set the appointment never mentioned anything about additional payments upon installation only payment I was advised to make was for $dollars even then I wasn't advised of taxes on that until I look at my bank statement The tech that came out took hours to install the services and after four or five hours he couldn't complete the process, he stated the cell tours in my area we're down, and that he would need to come back later that day, well he never made it back to finish what he startedHe later called and stated he will be back the next day around 1pm, he never showed up, he stated he would have to have the sched

Never ever go with ADT SecurityThese guys are lootersThey do not provide you proper information in time so that you can cancel your accountI had my contract over since Nov After numerous attempts and call and emails, they are still charging me for monitoring in Mar
They do not value existing customers as we are in years contract
The worst company to do business withPLEASE DO NOT GO WITH ADT SECURITY
