I was a customer since When I wanted to cancel, I was given the run around and their friendly customer service tone changed quickly Even though I was far removed from my initial agreement, they still wanted a day notice to cancel They told me they will be sending a bill for days of service, even though I have been disconnected I wanted to cancel because they kept increasing their prices During my years with them, I had alarm contacts I would not recommend using ADT I would not award them any stars

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever experienced I contacted the AZ provider Defender to switch my current system The second level sales individual was friendly and helpful and we scheduled a security evaluation the next day, I clearly communicated the need to convert my current home automation equipment and was assured each component would be reviewed to determine if it was compatible with the ADT Pulse system The technician arrived one time and did a security review It was clear the focus was security not home automation He was attempting to resolve the majority of my concerns as expected Once we were about to start the installation he mentioned there would be a $charge for establish the home automation component This charge was never mentioned by the sales person or her supervisor I wasted hours of my time and the time of the installer to accomplish nothing Had this been disclosed during the sales interaction this would have terminated the process at that point in time I was also told I would receive an email with the details of the program but I never received this email I had dealt with ADT for year previously but will never even consider them again

So, don't use ADTEleven years I have been with themI called to cancel today and was told, " you're on contract till 2021"....Apparently, when I called to complain about my bill increase last year, ADT automatically put me under a contract after lowering my billI didn't sign an agreement or verbally accept an agreementAnyway, I do NOT recommend ADT Very rude customer service after I explained I was calling to cancelI wish I could have left NO star

A very bad company and I'm sure they know it In this age where reviews are transparent, they have disabled Google and Facebook review for a good reason instead of fixing the service
I have been with them for over years and every time I called for any help the answer was to send a tech and charge for it I was able to Google some of my answers and program things my self with simple clicks that saved me
The service is so bad that I asked for a manager and they would hang up the phone Call again and they put me on hold and hang up again
I knew they were this bad but didn't think that bad
There are so many other companies out there that give the same service for much less with more respect to their clients

Went with ADT for my business,
I had my sales visit from reps prior to installSales people told me that the camera wires could be installed inside the walls and I would be able to have a camera for the exterior of my business
Upon the arrival of the install tech I was surprised to find that the wires could NOT be installed through the walls and I could NOT have an exterior cameraas they were already installed upon my returnAfter months of phone calls and back and forth with corporate I just gave up on getting the item fixed because I don't have hours to spend on the phone every couple of days
I recently sold the business and now they hit me with a $cancellation billI called yet again to explain that the business is sold and explained the trouble I had upon install and they refused to do anything more than reduce my final bill by $
Shady business, lying sales people and poor customer service

Lost connection to ADT and they sent a tech out on 1/ After years of service this guy is telling me he can not find a live phone line
This is the 3rd time with a connection issue in years When I called to complain about the tech and the lack of repair the customer service rep told me that if I don't want to have the tech run lines then you need to find another company How could that possibly be a response to a year customer

If I could leave a zero star rating I would This company is terrible Experienced all of the same issues as others with cancelling the service After cancelling the third time(!) they continued to call, DAILY!, stating that the service was not cancelled
When cancelling the Second (!) time the guy, asked "why are you cancelling?" I responded that we have a dog (ANYTHING to get them moving along) to which he responded "Well, you should know that people that break in and will kill the owners dogs to prevent them from making noise"
BEYOND APPALLING BUSINESS (?) PRACTICE
I have no idea how this company retains an A+ rating

"Hello*** I hope this inMail isn't to much of an intrusionI was reaching out to you today because I canceled my account today due to the gateway being non functional last night during a robbery next doorI was asked by Law Enforcement and our communities security to provide video footage If I was able tooWhen I logged into pulse.adt Is when I first realized that the cameras had been offline and we're currentlyWhen I woke this morning they were back online and functioning properlyI contacted support today to ask why I was not notified that the cameras were offline and was told that that's not something ADT will monitor for, it will monitor for ADT system but not the cameras because it was not possible to do soThe representative went on to say that we, consumer would first no if we tried logging into the system and we either couldn't or if we could log in we wold see that it was offline as I didUnderstanding that portion I explained that if that's the case ADT can in-fact monitor if surveillance goes down via the web application fairly easyI know I've undoubtedly oversimplified a very complex system you oversee at ADT, I'm only speaking from that little window of monitoring whether a system/service has gone down, offline, etcI explained that I was no longer comfortable keeping ADT knowing this and the representative canceled my accountHe did explain that I am in a year contract so early termination of the contract was roughly $
*** without wasting more of your time on this story, I would like to say that I genuinely feel that due to my hardware/service failing and not being notified of it during an opportune time that I should be granted forgiveness of the early termination feePlease consider this

So essentially people you need to understand, ADT does not report to you if your camera system is downAs this picture shows it is possible http://e.dika.io/ifde ADT does not report or even know if your whole security system has gone offline as the "social media specialist" told me just now that there is nothing showing either my security system or camera system were offlineTo add insult to injury, they respond to very valid questioning of defects of their system with denial of fault on their endI'm writing this review as a current customer which has canceled their contract early and will be terminated Feb4thI will probably end up having to pay the $early cancelation fee now and have to fight this in courtThe unfortunate fact is I'm very able to do this and willing but do you want to deal with a company that you might have to go to court with just to defend your position with valid arguments? Please stay away from ADT and look into other alternatives

The business is run terribly from the sales side of thingsThey attempt to use high-pressure sales tactics and fear to drive you to buy their productThe guy I was talking to literally hung up as soon as he knew I wasn't a sale - not even a "thank you" or "goodbye" to my own "Thanks"
Outside of that, they have no tracking whatsoever on their call systemI asked on Friday to not be contacted for a monthBy Tuesday morning, I had been dialed more timesCalled back and asked a second time to not be called for at least a week - the next morning AGAIN! After that person saw the note saying a week, he obliged to not call for a week, but hours later I was back on the phone with ADT
To anyone who reads this, don't fall for their pressure to immediately buyThe business is literally based on volume of people who are scared of a brebecause their reps make it sound like you're nextThat doesn't actually fit everyone's situation, so think before you buy

I have been on the phone for minutes, with clerks just to be sent to a voice mail of a managerI received different stories from each clerk
Each clerk had a different answer on how to resolve my issueAt the end I asked for a manger just to be transferred to a voicemailThis is my second attempt at callingI called last week and am still waiting for a call back from a manger

I was told by Regional Mgr that I would be 100% reimbursed for work that my private HVAC person had to do to fix a faulty installation done by ADT
I hired ADT in March to install Nest Thermostat systems in my homeADT hires their own electricians since their techs are not allowed to do Nest installsI had NO problems with our AC or heating prior to this, but, wanted everything to be integrated with our alarm and services that ADT was providingWhen ADT performed the installation, we were not yet living in the home, as we had just purchased itWhen I attempted to move into the home on May 27th (I was weeks pregnant and NY was in the midst of a heat wave), I immediately notified ADT that the AC system was not working and that the Nest thermostat kept reading an errorDue to it being a holiday weekend, ADT said that the soonest they could send a tech to me was on Wed, June 1stI told them this was unacceptable and they agreed to get a tech to my home on Tue, May 31stDue

Continual calls after being asked to be removed from list
I contacted ADT through their online chat a week ago requesting basic information about their home security services During this chat I informed them that I do not have a date set for services and did not know when I would start I also informed them that I did not want to speak to a sales rep to set up any services at this time The chat personnel continued to push for a date to bring in an ADT installer After this chat ended I began receiving calls, at least per day from XXX-XXX-XXXX, when I did not pick up they did not leave voice mails I finally picked up on 10/27/and requested to be removed, stating the same thing I said to the online rep I was informed that I would be removed from their list asap and that a note would be made that I would call them if I wanted assistance Sure enough I received another call the next day This time the left a second blank voicemail When I called back the rep I spoke t

I sold my home and ADT is demanding that I keep the service or buy out the contract
When I purchased the service I asked the salesperson whether I could cancel if I moved or sold my homeHe stated that if I moved and the new location did not permit ADT I would be able to cancelThis was blatantly untrue, I recently moved out of state to an apartment building that does not allow ADTI tried to cancel ADT and was told that I have to buyout my contract or transfer the service to the new ownersHow can I force someone buying my condo to takeover my ADT service? This is a horrible business model and the contract and sales people prey upon those concerned about their safety

I returned a Health alert in June 2016.I got a bill for over $this Friday for a device that they claimed was not returned.I spoke to people.I was told that the device was returned on June 2016.They can not recall the tracking number and put the burden on me.They also charged me for a month of service which was already paid from my bank account.I paid the amount for I was afraid that they would hurt my credit score.I need your help!

Never have I been more frustrated with a home service - any service, not just security, than with ADTStarting with the window sensors: almost immediately after the system was turned on, we started getting trouble signals on our window sensorsIt would happen about every 1-days and repeatedly for the same windowsA service technician came out and adjusted the sensors and then a few days later we would get trouble signals on different windowsThis went on for months until our initial free service window expiredOnce past the months, we would need to pay for technicians to come to the house unless we signed up for the Quality Service Plan
This part is completely exasperating to me: I agreed over the phone in September to buy the QSP maintenance plan for an additional $per monthBecause we'd had so much trouble with the sensors, the call center agent offered to waive the initial visit fee of $The technician came, charged me only the $trip fee, and replaced the bad sensorTwo months later we were having problems again with a different windowWhen I called they said I was not signed up for the QSP maintenance plan, but would I like to sign up nowI said yes again, told them I thought I had already purchased it and they agreed to waive the initial $feeThey sent a technician out and he charged me nothing for the visit, not even the trip chargeTrouble signals on different windows continued and in December I called for another service visit and they said AGAIN that I was not signed up for the QSPThe agent assured me I would be signed up starting Jan and it would cost $per monthI called for service in January and for the 3rd time was told I was not signed up on the QSP but if I wanted to sign up, it would cost $per month and have a $trip chargeNow very skeptical about this QSP I asked the call center agent and the technician who later came to the house for some paperwork about the QSP as I seem to get different answers about the costs associated with itNope, no one has any paperwork to show me how the QSP works or how we are charged for it!!
By the way, the technician who came out yesterday said we just needed new batteries in the windows causing the trouble signalsI told him that's been done before with no success and he didn't seem to care and today AGAIN those same windows are getting a trouble signal
So in summary, for the QSP I have been quoted $14/mo, $7/mo, and $16/mo with a trip charge of $0, $or $There is absolutely no paperwork to read about it, what it covers and what it costs, not online or otherwiseI think it's a complete sham!
I would like to rip out the whole system now but I'm locked in a year contractThe call center agents AND the service technicians have all let me downI really regret signing that contract as it has been such a hassle to deal with ADT and still the hassle continues

I recently contacted ADP's national office to set up their monitoring service, and I was extremely impressed with the person with whom I interacted The customer rep really listened to what I wanted and offered me a great deal When I then met the local installer in the Medford, OR area, I was further impressed with the quality of service and his sincere desire to customize a security package that worked for me Before he left, he ensured that I understood the system and that my equipment needs based on a thorough house inspection were met It was obvious to me throughout this process that not only was I dealing with highly skilled professionals, but also people dedicated to providing great customer service

Problems started on March 12, after ADT updated the cell phone part of the systemAfterward the "Hold Up" device did not work and the "Door Chime" did not workOn January 6, a technician came to fix the "Hold Up" deviceAfter this service call we began having alarms on the "Hold Up" deviceAfter several phone calls to ADT, another technician came to service the system on June 10, After his visit we began having problems with the phone line that is connected to the alarm systemThe line would "click" and go deadThis problem was corrected by Frontier CommunicationsThey identified the problem as originating in the alarm system

I called ADT to question about an automatic charge to my bank account Spoke to the rep (***), and she stated that I wrote a check for payment So, I stated to her that I didn't write a check and would remember if I did Then, she insisted that it was the bank that wrote the check After a short debate, I informed her that I will call the bank and find out After updating my bank on the situation, they researched the "check" and stated that there was no record They even stated all the transactions that I made to ADT, and that amount charged was not one of them Then, I called ADT back and another rep (I think ***) was kind enough to reverse the charge after I told her the situation She actually told me that the charge was through an online Easy Pay system which I did not authorized, and *** removed me from it (weird since I never signed up for it) A few days passed, and I did not see the credit I called ADT to check and got *** againShe was argumentative and insisted that she was right about the check payment from myself or the bank She even rant about how she was writing an email as we spoke to the rep that credited me and telling her that there was nothing to be confused aboutI didn't want to continue and entertain this conversation, so I let her rant After she told me that the credit will take 7-days to go through (which was the purpose of the call), she reinforced her thought that it was a check and bidded farewell with the typical business closing saying Now, ADT will be triple paid if I am not credited because I made a payment online during this debacle A day later, I saw a letter from ADT Apparently, they decided to automatically charge me that same amount that I called in about through their Easy Pay online system There is the mystery of the check solvedthere was NO CHECK!
FYIthis was the second problem dealing with automated charges to my bank account from ADT which I thought was resolved when I called the very time to put on record NOT to remoted make charges without my permission
This experience made me think twice about the faith and credibility with ADT especially their accounting system and "some" customer service reps In the end, I don't even know if I will be credited
