ADT requiring me to pay for services not rendered
I have moved from the home (in **) in August of that I purchased ADT for, and another homeowner lives there nowThe home I moved into after that home (**) was not able to have an ADT system placedI was told I could not cancel services and had to continue to pay for a product I was not using and could not useI have since, Feb 2016, moved into a third home (**), owned by my grandparents, and still cannot use the services I have paid forADT is insisting I continue to pay the bill but no services are being rendered
I am also suspicious that ADT is being paid by me and the current homeowner of the first home (**) mentioned

I purchased an investment property, intended for no more than months, which was made crystal clear to the ADT salespersonThe ADT salesperson was even on the premises with me while I was discussing what we would be doing and when we would be selling the property I signed up because he told me my timeline wouldn't be a problem with how the contract works When we successfully finished the property renovation and sold it, I attempted to cancel the service, only to find out about the year contract that I had apparently signed, which required that I now pay a $~cancellation fee Looking back, I clearly understand that I should have read all of the contract's fine print, so it's my fault for trusting the salesperson However, it is utterly clear that this salesperson either did not know how the contract worked or intentionally misled regarding the terms

Horrible serviceI was scammed into services by a third party called safe haven who manages my "contract"My equipment has been defective for the entire year I've had this serviceSafe haven has denied providing me the adt equipment I paid for I have contacted adt multiple times through phone calls and online messaging regarding my cameraAlso my window and door sensors were never installed because they say the year old sensors from a previous company the original homeowner had "would work fine" but I still had to pay for all the equipment and installation feesMy camera was set up with wires hanging down and the camera does not work nor does the remote or glass break sensorsThe technician sent by their third part seller did not know what he was doing and would only communicate through his personal cell phone which I refused to text him onWhen I asked for a new camera to be installed by someone else they flat out said NO because that specific technician services my neighborhoodThey said I can upgrade to the updated equipment when my year contract is upAfter contacting adt they throw the blame to the third party seller called safe haven and when I contact safe haven they tell me to contact Adt about my issuesOne year later and the issues have still not been resolved and my services have been disconnected on meAdt continues to harass me weekly by sending me emails to pay or else they will send me to collections but when I call adt they will tell me to call the third party seller to complain and they refuse to respond to my service requests or provide me the equipment they are charging me forI'm confused why I'm paying to adt but they will not help meI feel like I have been scammed for a year paying Adt for nothing because they threaten to charge me penalties and fees for breaking a "contract" because I only had a few days to cancel and they waited to respond to me until it was too late forcing me to pay themNow I have been ignored by both companiesIt's ironic how the security system worked the first day but as soon as my trial period ended my services stopped working and adt Put me on auto pay from my bank without my permission and when I called they refused to take me off auto payI had to have my bank stop all future payments to them and now they want to continue to harass me to keep payingWhat a scam! I'm very disappointed with Adt and their lack of care or knowledge about this third party sellerI would never recommend Adt security to anyone! I am writing to address a letter I received from your company (enclosed) regarding a balance due of $ Not only is this amount incorrect, but your company took it upon yourselves to take money from my checking account to pay this "debt" without my permission after repeated attempts by me to explain your error and arrive at a mutual charge This is my first issue

On May 14th, I contacted ADT due to concern over my account bill being too high compared to a competitor (who was willing to buy my contract out if I would switch) On that same day I was told my bill could be lowed if I switched to the Pulse Video service and that ADT would give a huge discount on some new smart servicesI agreed to all of this with the installer scheduled for the next dayDuring this time, I also set up 3-pay for the equipment with the first payment coming out June 15thI received a call back about hours later with the technician apologizing for incorrect information and that I would have to be charged an extra $100+ dollars for a electrician to come outThe technician mentioned she would give me one month free due to the trouble (which I never received) ON May 15th the installer installed everything except for the NEST thermostat due to the electrician not being able to come outHe charged me for the NEST since I would have m

When we bought our home in 2016, there was an ADT system already installed so we used it for a few months and then let the contract run out in the previous owners names and did nothing when it ended
September I get a letter in the mail from ADT saying we can reinstate our service for only $a month since we already have the equipmentAwesome! I called ADT, customer service rep was very friendly and nice I told him about the letter I received and the dealGreat, a tech would come out and set me upNot one word from the rep about any other charges
Tech comes out, checks out our house, windows and doors, (it's just me at home, my husband isn't present) and then tells me all the things they need to do to upgrade the system (not one mention of cost still)But we will get all the extras for no charge (carbon monoxide detector, camera, app, key fobs,) and we get a discount for being a first responder family! WrongHe proceeds to do the "upgrade" and tells me it's $Not one mention of this from the person on the phone before hand even though he knew everything I had/didn't haveSo while I'm mad, we want the protection as I am home alone, at night, 4-nights a week with a babyStill thinking the monthly charge is $so no big deal

An ADT representative come to my homeHe walked around and knew exactly what we were asking for.he promised a system that would be "wireless" and would have camera viewingI explained exactly where I would like the camera installedThe representative assured us that ADT would be able to provide me with such a security systemI was very detailed in my request and he repeated and confirmed his understandingWe came to an agreement and had the system partially installedThe technician, however, was unable to install the camera and explained the system is not necessarily wireless because it has to use an electrical outlet and not hot-wired like my previous systemHe also did not install the sensors properlyI called ADT on several occassions and had technicians come to my home to try and complete the install with very little successThe last technician that arrived finally said they were unable to comply and would have a supervisor come over and discuss picking up the equipment a

I had an ADT security system installed at my previous house and was about years into the year contractI called ADT to tell them I was moving and how I can have a system thereI was told by the sales rep and the agent at ADT that my contract would be paused and then restart when I moved into my new houseI never signed anything but I was working with the sales rep to get this doneThe date I first called the call center about how much longer I was under contract for was January 17th They told me years and I disagreedI asked to be emailed a copy of my contractThey sent it to me and I noticed my signature was forgedI think it must have been the sales repI have tried calling them and working with the agents to resolve the issueNo one is getting back to me so I called today (January 25th 2017) to cancel my serviceThey told me ADT is under the impression I am under contractI explained

Charges not described in my contract
After meeting my three year contract, I called to cancel my service The next month I was charged another monthly fee I called to let them know that I had cancelled my service and they stated I had to give them a day notice I went home and pulled out my contract It mentions that I'm under a three year contract and that I was pre-charged for my service, but nothing about a day notice I called them back and they stated they had given me a $credit, but the charge for service was $ When I told them that my contract did not mention a day notice, they proceeded to tell me it was in my contract I told them I had my paperwork right in front of me and that there was nothing regarding a day notice He said I'd have a refund within 5-business days I got the $back, but not the fee that they charged me for the day notice

I had an issue with my system in which a credit was supposed to be given; no word on the credit and now no notes of a credit per customer service rep
I called into ADT back in May after receiving a notice from *** *** *** *** about alarms at my propertyI had a total of three in which I had no notice of because I was not called by ADT on my contact number even notifying me of an alarm occurrenceI had tenants in the property previously in which moved out in March of After they moved out, the code was changed and from there, I had nothing but issues because after finally getting to the root cause, the system was sending out a panic alarm with my code instead of a regular alarm setThe rep I spoke with did not know what to do so I asked if I could just change the code in which she did not know if it would work but thankfully it did and I have had no problems sinceMY problem is that I was charged 25$ by the city and they needed documentation from ADT st

ADT will leave you UNPROTECTED
If you can avoid using ADT I recommend that you doAlthough their actual monitoring service is great, their customer service is terribleMy monitoring is out through their faulty equipment and they can not find an appointment for more than weeksSo no cameras etc, just waiting for some event to happen that can not be documented while they rush to see new customersI have been an ADT customer for at least 8years and while I wait weeks for my repair and then a hour service window; I will screen other alarm companies that have better service windows, and actually accommodate loyal customers

ADT does not care about its customersIt will not handle complaintsWill just tell you it was a different company that sold and Installed
I signed a year contract when I called after 1/years to see about lowering the monitoring fees they said it was a year contractI ask them to send me a copy of the contractThey did my signature was no where on the contractand all the places that were supposed to be my initials were not "easy to see"One of the persons I spoke told me how they do it and I don't think she meant toWhen the paper contract is signed she said that it was just for you to read so you could decided it that is what you wanted and that the real contract was not signed until the installer had you sign for the installationThe installer ask you to sign only for the installationWith only months left in the contract you may think why botherWell because it is fraudThis company is deceiving people and this practice should be stoppedI called ADT home off

I am curious as to how a company with negative reviews and positive reviews has an A+ rating with Revdex.com, but that's not why I'm writing this
I have had an ADT monitored alarm for years (it was installed when the house was built by an authorized dealer)A system that old required a land line so for years I paid for a phone line that I never used so my alarm would be monitoredTurns out that was a waste of moneyWhen I finally disconnected that phone line in Septof last year, ADT continued to bill me the monitoring chargeI wouldn't complain about that except I never had a call from ADT or anyone from their company come out to see if I disabled the alarm or notConsidering that they advertise that they monitor 24XI find it odd that when they don't get a ping from an alarm they monitor for more than months without a word from the customer that they don't suspect that either the alarm is defective or that perhaps it was disabled by someone with bad intentI know if I left a child with a babysitter and they didn't answer my callafter the second attempt I would go home to see what the issue wasThis isn't far from thatThey claim that they will monitor my alarm and provide a level of security in exchange for a monthly feebut when they are unable to hold up their end of that arrangement, they have no problem continuing to take the feeWhen I discovered that my system had not been monitored for over months and called to complain I was informed that cancellation of the service would require day notice (so they get one more payment for doing nothing), but that I was eligible for a free upgrade to a new wireless systemI had to laugh as I declined, thinking if my house was burglarized or burned down I would have to call them to let them know because they obviously don't monitor anything

Worst customer service, everLook into your contract as well as searching online for lawsuits against them for stating a timeframe different from the contract they have you signAlso if anything goes wrong with your system, they aren't the ones who will fix it but rather they contract with several "authorized providers" that are more incompetent than their company isThey are patheticThe companies cannot even get it straight who services what and who takes care of accounts/contracts/billing/etcI used the system for months of a month contract because it is GARBAGEI've even been hung up on from their "authorizing provider" named DefenderDon't waste you moneyI wish I could give zero stars

We have an adt system and have had failures of the main panel The first tech that came out gave us the codes to reset it ourselves because he had the foresight to know this was going to be a continuing problem So, I've reset it now twice after it beeps loudly at night when it throws a code We scheduled to have a tech out today between 8-and we're told we would receive a call on the way I received a call around 11:saying the tech was going to run lateI guess this was from the dispatch center The tech never called and wrote a note that he and the plumber sat outside waiting for us He left and no callThe plumber was in the house and performed his repairsThis tells me the tech didn't need much of an excuse to leave and blame it on us not being thereWe were at work minutes away waiting to come let him in This is frustrating enough and we wouldn't have an issue if the equipment worked without w
