I have been a customer of ADT for some time and my experience with them has always been very good
They were excellent with service calls, their technicians were Professional, knowledgeable and polite and this can also be said for their customer service and online customer service representatives as wellThey were patient and took time to walk me through any issues I was having online or with my system Overall their customer service is wonderful

I ordered this service when I moved into my new house with a year contractI found I did not use the serviceAt the end of years when I called to cancel, they gave me a high pressure sales on why I needed to keep itThen placed me on a silent hold for minutes before coming on the line and telling me they had cancelled the accountI understand they do not want to lose customersBut, I did not appreciate having to call in to cancel (the only option available)....then the forceful treatment against my cancellation

My husband and I recently got adt install on dec The technician who came out wasn't prepared and had no ladder or drill, so we let him use our stuff, he was drinking on the job and lied to us about what the equipment and saying it will work threw the whole house and which it really only works in one room, the same day we got it installed our doorbell camera quit working, by the time I called the third party defenders were already closed and won't open up till Monday, we'll monday came and I called it took a week for them to get someone out, and the guy I spoke to said I couldn't cancel my contract and to allow this guy to come out, well the technician came out on Monday a week later and fixed one issue with the doorbell and then new stuff to the doorbell quit working, so Monday night we called defenders wanting out of our contract and saying it will be 1000$ to cancel, and told us to call a different number Tuesday morning so we called after being on the phone for serval hours they said they would send a technician out and he will be here in an hour, we'll that was a lie again because he was at a different job so he showed up two and half hours later then the time we were told, he came in to install the free senors they agreed to give us for free and had no idea about the door bell, we'll we were promised that he wouldn't leave till the doorbell is fixHe ended up leaving and wasn't even fixed, so when my husband came home from work he spent hours on the phone troubleshooting it with them, got it up and running only for it to completely stop working hours later, the company has no doorbells in stock to replace ours they still are refusing to let us cancel our contract, every time you talk to someone at defenders the third party company they are rude won't transfer you to a supervisor, and they are uncaring if your situation they have horrible attitudes and don't care, we have had three technician out and have only had the system for now days and have had three technician outs, who can't reslove the issue, they won't let us out of our contract, and on the adt webpage it says not happen they will cancel and refund the money within months, I'm at days of my system not working properly and they won't let us cancel, they are a complete rip off, they cause more stress then it's worth and they lie and tell informationNot only but they allow there technician to drink on the job because every time I mention it they don't care, I wish I could give them less then one

I had been a long time ADT customer since December On 2/26/2016, I made a decision to cancel ADT serviceI called and spoke with Britney at ADT who canceled the serviceHowever, they had already charged my credit card for next month?s service (3/1/? 3/31/16)When I asked Britney when this will get credited, she said that it will take days for them to credit $to my card

The company is not an easy company to work with on technical issues, billing or contracts They will NOT work with you if you are under contract and threaten legal issues

We made several requests for discontinuation of service at a vacated premise months ago, but continue to be billed for service

WOW, What a nightmare this has been so far just trying to get an alarm system installed at my residenceInitial call...Scheduled installation of equipment and start of services, cancelled within a week after further discussion with the spouse in regards to the need for a systemCalled by ADT shortly after cancellation offering equipment credit in order to change our mindsWe decided that with the equipment credit incentives that it wasn't such a bad idea after all and scheduled again to have the system installedWaited well past the scheduled install date and received no word from ADT or the dealer in regards to the installationReceived a letter in the mail referencing status of our system "Your ADT security system is installed but monitoring is inactive"No system has ever been installed and no other contact was initiated by the dealer or ADT so I called the number listed on the letter to find out what was going on, why our system had never been installed, and why we were getting a notice saying it was installed but no monitoring was activeI spent over minutes going back and forth with the dealer I was put in touch with regarding the account and installation to then find out that the installation had been cancelled (on ADT's end via the dealer or ADT) and that they (the dealer I was currently talking to) could not install one because corporate tied the account to the previous dealer and even though they had cancelled it out I would have to wait days before the other dealer could do anything with itI then asked to be placed in touch with corporate so I could initiate a complaint, have them fix the issue and get the correct system and dealer to take care of getting a system installedI had the "pleasure" of talking to *** who was about as helpful as a bump on a log and who proceeded to ask me rhetorical questions about why the dealer had transferred me to herI got irritated enough to hang up with her and call corporate myself instead of continuing to be jockeyed aroundHour and a half of my day thus far spent dealing with trying to fix the issue to no avail, Finally got in touch with *** at Corporate who then proceeded to tell me that he would reach out to the dealer and have them contact me...Now wait a minute, I called corporate to have them (as the overall in charge of this entire fiasco) handle and fix the issueAbsolute worst run around I have ever received when dealing with ANY company in the last years to conduct business with themI would not at this time, recommend ADT or any of it's affiliates/dealers for any purpose, Barring some miracle or someone such as *** ***, ADT VP of Customer Care addressing, fixing this issue, and ensuring it is handled in a professional, timely manner, I will likely choose to stick with *** and Wesson or Springfield Armory for my security needs

This was the letter I sent to ADT and that they received on 7/30/as of 8/30/I have not received a response:
Your system was partially installed on April 17, and has never been completed even after text to the installer and two phone calls to XXX XXX-XXXX that were never returned Clearly this is not as represented Therefore I wish to cancel our agreement If you cannot even complete the installation or respond to my repeated attempts for attention to this, how in the world can you protect my house?

I was promised equipment that I never received and I did receive horrible customer service
When I purchased my first home in June a sales representative came to my home to sell me adt servicesI decided to purchase the alarm security system since I was not living in the home at the timeI was promised by adt sales agent cameras were going to be installed in my home at no cost out of pocket.I was told to call back once Internet was installed and I was ready to have cameras brought to my home

ADT on 9/17/signed contract to install wireless sensors for $ ADT is not honoring the contract
On 9/17/my wife completed a contract to install wireless sensors for $ A tentative installation date was schedule in November
The window contractor we were working with was behind schedule so prior to the installation date we notified ADT They said everything is fine and to call when ready
When we called back the 1st week of January to have the sensors installed we were told the contract was cancelled When asked why we were told it was invalid but they would not provide a reason
The contract gives them the ability to cancel but requires ADT to provide notification No notification was provided

To date almost five months later we are still being charged for a service we no longer have used since last year
The business has vacated the location of the service address since last October
