We have an *** W341 VGA/HDMI video projector that suddenly stopped working. It would not power up and gave us a LED warning message that there was a lamp error. I ordered a replacement lamp but that did not correct the error. I then submitted a claim to Square Trade with a description of the issue including a picture of the LED error and what steps I had already taken to try to resolve the issue on my own. I got a reply back that the issue was the lamp needed to be replaced and that was not covered by the warranty and the ticket was closed. Apparently whoever reviewed the request did not read it thoroughly and would have seen that I had already taken this step without success. So I reopened the service ticket and at the very top I put “Please read this request all the way through and view the included picture” to make sure that they understood the problem and that the issue was not the lamp. This time whoever was reviewing the ticket agreed that there was an issue and it was not the lamp and it was Square Trade’s responsibility to correct the issue. I was very much surprised to find that Square Trade paid for the shipping both ways (I had expected to pay the shipping to Square Trade and they would pay for the return). After a few days I got an email from Square Trade informing me that they received the projector, tested it, and found it working fine and could not duplicate the issue. Since the issue happened when the projector was not being used and it was working when Square Trade received the unit, I can only assume that some component inside had developed a loose or intermittent connection and in the process of transportation, it had self correct the problem. It has been several weeks now and the projector has continued to work without issue, so I am satisfied with the service I received even though there was not any actual repair done. Except for the first response that it needed a replacement lamp when I had already stated that this step had already been done, the rest of the process worked very well and smoothly. Overall, this has been a very good experience.

I always get a sqaretrade warranty for my electronics. So Far they have repaired my ipad and TV. The online claim reporting was really good until recently. I can't seem to finish my claim on line, so I called in to complete the claim. I was on hold for a few minutes, but they were very nice and assisted me with my claim. I would go with them again.

I am very happy with square trade! All of our cellphones, and TV's, and electronics are covered by them. The customer service is easy to reach and a pleasure. 5 stars!

Asked questions to ascertain the nature of the problem. Due to the low initial cost of the item they elected to refund the purchase price instead of repairing it. The initial offer was for a little less but with a little pushing they agreed to refund the entire amount. The entire phone call took less than seven minutes.

Squaretrade made a problem go away. I had purchased a rather expensive inkjet printer that, turns out, was very cheaply made. After over a year's worth of trouble, the automatic document feeder finally broke. Squaretrade made a very practical decision and offered a cash out value (of nearly the full price I paid), without asking the printer be returned or to make an attempt to fix--it just was not worth it. I got my funds quickly, as promised. I have had any number of other extended warranties on technical equipment, and this was amongst the best responses for any times I have exercised those warranties. Excellent result--I was pleased.

Square Trade has always been the best! Whether repair or replace with new or refund of original price.....you can count on Square Trade ......as my experience!!!

I am so glad I bought a warrantee for my *** with SquareTrade. Not only was my claim handled quickly and efficiently, but the check to cover the cost of the faulty *** arrived days before expected. The communication was very professional, and they thoroughly explained how to send all of the info needed to complete my claim. I will absolutely use SquareTrade from now on, and have referred them to everybody who is looking for protection with their purchases.

I have always had fast and courteous service from Square Trade. I have had a few problems with things, I bought, and they resolved everything right away. I would recommend them to my family, and friends.

I had a tablet that wats accidentally cracked so I filed a claim under Square Trade. The claim process took a little time as I had to send copies of receipts to them. They responded quickly and told me I would need to send the tablet for repair. Then I was sent another email to call them. I was then told I would be getting a check for the tablet to replace it; however it was a lower amount than I had paid for the tablet. I disagreed with the amount and was told I would receive the amount I paid - less taxes. I recevied a check but it was the lower amount first quoted so I called Square Trade and was told a second check would be sent to equal the amount we had agreed upon. So far I have not received the second check. Apparently their system determines how much they will pay to reimburse you however this is not stated when you purchase the warranty. I will be calling next week if I do not receive the second check. The tablet had been kept in a cover and was working fine when it was damaged. In order to get same quality tablet and new warranty I did have to spend more to replace this tablet so I feel it is only fair to get reimbursed at least what I paid. That is the whole reason for buying the warranty. I would have given 5 stars if I was not still waiting for the second check.

I put in a claim for my smartphone. Paid the $85 deductible. Went to the service center to have my phone worked on. I thought that my charging port needed replaced. The gentleman at CPR Cell Phone Repair told me that the charging port didn't need replaced. He said that it just needed cleaned out. He blew it out and said that it worked fine. I asked him if he needed my info from squaretrade for the claim. He said that there shouldn't be a claim because there wouldn't be any charges to me or squaretrade. He did it for free. I called Squaretrade to ask for a refund on my deductible. The gentleman on the phone said that I wasn't eligilble for a refund because they repaired the phone. I tried to explain that they were not charging for the repair. He asked me if the phone was working better after I left the shop. I said it was. He told me that I wouldn't get a refund.
The reason that I am giving three stars is because of the chat service that I had on SquareTrade. I got on the SquareTrade website. I started chatting with a someone on the website to try and get some help. They asked me if I would like to canel the claim. I told them that I would if it would get my deductible back. he told me that it wasn't a problem he took care of the problem in a couple minutes. I received my refund in a couple days.
If I would have talked to the chat person first I would have given SquareTrade 5 stars. I am happy with the service that I received online.
I told him yes. so he said that I don't get my money back.

Since I had good service with SquareTrade website chat I would probably give them another try if needed.

Squaretrade went above and beyond to help resolve an issue I was having with a defective unit. After they were unable to fix it, they simply made the process of getting a new replacement fairly quick and easy.

Great insurance. My TV 70 inch 4K UHD LED TV died after 4 1/2 years, just a week before the super bowl. I filed a claim the same day. Parts arrived and the repair technician installed them on Friday before the game. It was working perfect again in time for the game. Got to have this insurance on all big ticket items. The week before I had to buy a new $2500 refrigerator after mine died after only 3 years because I didn't have the insurance on it. The new refrigerator now has the Square insurance on it.

Do not use this service they will overcharge for repair service and then tell you your service is canceled because they spent to much on repairs

I will never buy this warranty again. When I tried to file another claim online for a broken ipad. It reported an error message that said I must call them. I called them and choose the call back method twice, they never called me back. Few weeks later I finally got through and they told me my warranty expired 5 days ago and they would not honor it.

Very upset with Square Trade. They are trying to refund money on warranty claims that I have closed. But they put the money back on the original credit card I used but I no longer have access to those cards and I cannot retrieve my refunds. I have called *** and several businesses and my bank but none are able to help me. So now, I am out of $144.00 that is owed to me but is now lost. Am very angry and will never use Square Trade again.

This is a Scam. I purchased this plan for a computer purchased on ***. Since the issue started before the time this plan covered they would not help. They did not state in the listing that there was 31 days before the plan takes effect only to buy with confidence knowing you are covered. Thanks SquareTrace and

I have a *** non profit organization & the ministry's only laptop dropped & broke and is under warranty with Square Trade. The repair was prolonged in being returned apparently due to weather. There were 2 stated problems needing correction. The computer was returned with a cheap quality wrong monitor replacement with very poor quality and lacked the touch screen laptop was purchased with. The secondary problem was not necessarily resolved either as I don't believe the problem was understood. I explained over and again the laptop was writing letters when I stepped away from it. I believe it was an internal problem. They called it a keyboard problem, but keys don't type on their own clearly. I am now on hold and have been on a very long call trying to get help. The person helping is kind, but not able to help. Waiting to speak to a manager. Would like the money given back to pay for purchase of the same laptop. Do not feel this is being handled or addressed kindly and correctly. Given the poor quality of the fixing and time I am losing to do my work I believe they should simply escalate the issue and send a check to cover the new laptop. Thanks very much. I didn't realize the poor ratings and reviews by so many and likely would not have purchased the warranty.

We apologize for any difficulty with the repair.Squaretrade uses certified technicians to complete our repairs and all products pass a full hardware diagnostic before return to the consumer. We also have several policies in place to address consumer concerns following our repairs, and in this instance a Squaretrade supervisor already provided this consumer an alternative resolution.

I filed a complaint & the company ended up resolving the problem by sending a check to pay for a new laptop for which I am very thankful.

Is there a way for me to note this on your website or for you to pull down the complaint as I feel the public should know it was resolved.

SquareTrade answered my questions promptly and directed me to the company I needed to contact even supplying the phone number. Great service
