After purchasing our first home, my husband and I spent the day with his parents searching for a full living room set as an AMAZING housewarming giftWe've never owned "brand new furniture" like this before and even suggested using the many resale apps to help save money on quality gently used furnitureHis parents had saved up for this and insisted on buying it brand new- Especially with the holidays coming up and anticipations of hosting our first Christmas gift exchange! We went to bigbox stores and outletLeft feeling like we'd have to settle for something we didn't LOVE I Googled furniture stores near meAmerican Freight in Orlando, FL popped up with good reviews! Walking in we were immediately impressed with their prices and met a VERY NICE AND HELPFUL Gentlemen (who later stated was the manager)He asked us what we were looking for, how we'd invision our living room to look, layout, color schemes everything...HE WAS GREAT! But after looking over all the floor models nothing actually fit our layout or color schemeThe helpful gentleman even pulled out sofas and love seats so we could invision different optionsAfter feeling overwhelmed with furniture shopping all day and now deflated in defeat the gentleman instantly perked up and stated he remembered seeing the sectional we LOVED in Grey (after thinking it only came in brown tones)!! He worked up a deal matching the big box retailers with including end tables, coffee table and warranty for just under $1,800!! We were soooo excited and could NOT wait to get it and finish setting up our new home! Unfortunately, he stated since it was a new color we'd have to order it from the warehouse and possibly wait up to days to receive it...But after submitting our order he saw the Ocala store had it in stock and maybe able to pick it up next week- no guaranteeWe submitted our order November 11, and here we are today January 3, WITH NO FURNITURE, NO COMMUNICATIONS AND NOW FIND OUT THEYRE CLOSED UNTIL THE 5TH!! The holidays have come and gone, our living room is still bare- unable to hang or decorate anything without having our furniture to layout the design...It's been beyond upsetting to not only cancle our first gift exchange and housewarming party but that our home still seems like the vacant house we walked through before purchasingIt's been days (and counting), phone calls and ZERO guarantee or insight of when we can expect our brand new $living room setPLEASE HELP!! Our experience with American Freight has been a rollercoaster of emotions and have grown very bitter towards the whole situationMy hopes are to get answers and our furniture ASAP before leaving bitter reviews on all possible websites warning others of our (growing) unpleasant experience

We purchased a Mattress and wanted to have an official document outlining the warranty that accompanied the purchaseWe were never given the warranty
We contacted the *** *** location and were forced to buy a $mattress cover and were told that if we did not have this mattress cover the bed would not be warrantiedWe visited the store to get the warranty in writing and were told the receipt was the warrantyHowever the verbiage of the receipt is generic and not related to the manufacture of the mattressWe asked for them to take back the mattress cover since we were bullied into purchasing this cover and that we were told that the manufacture holds the warrantyWe tried to get them to help us make contact with the manufacture of the mattress to get the warranty and we were just handed a pamphlet about the mattress and a possible warrantyHowever, this handout had not contact information or an area that had a place to put the serial number or customer information on it so

On May 15,2016, I put the Emily Bedroom set on layaway.I paid the remaining balance on June 3,2016.They couldn't do same day delivery due to the time I arrived which was no problem.Adam the store manager promised us to be expecting a delivery on Saturday June 4,after 2pmWe sat and waited for hours,didn't get a phone call,no update,nothing.They ended up NOT showing up at allSunday June 5,I called twice and was put on hold then got hung up on twice.I finally got in touch with Adam and he said they were working on delivering it Sunday and still NO CALL BACK NO SHOWMonday my fiance and I had enough and went to the store to speak with Adam and it turned out the furniture got damaged and they had to put in a new order.My first question to him was why didn't I get a phone call about this? He then wrote a contract with his signature promising us the whole bedroom set would be delivered today June 9,and gave us a credit towards a couch we have on layaway.Yesterday June 8,

On Saturday, I had a bedroom set deliveredOnce it was delivered, I discovered that the dresser was cracked on the cornerI called what I thought was the Marietta store ( but was actually the Stone Mountain store) and spoke to a manager name DelmonHe advised me to send a picture and email it to him and he will call back by the end of the business dayHe never called back so I called the same number back on sunday and spoke with DelmonHe said he called me back, however I never saw a missed call nor a voicemailAfter going back and forth, I asked what is the solutionHe said that he will send the email to corporate and call me back between 12-on monday to discuss time for a swapSo monday came and no phone call, so I called at Spoke to Delmon and he said that someone will pick up my furniture tomorrowHe said that they would call me mins ahead of time and I said okSo after no call again, I called back on Tuesday around 4:and spoke to DelmonHe was very nonchalent and sounded kinda irritatedHe called me by the wrong name and when I corrected him, he said hold onHe came back to the phone and said, you ordered your furniture in the Marietta office so you need to call them and schedule a pick upI reminded him that I have been speaking to him since Saturday and you are just now telling me that I have been calling the wrong officeHe never apologized and rudely said you need to call them, I can just see your account, I can't helpI told him that I did not like his tone and his disregard to assistI disconnected the call and found the correct number to the Marietta officeI finally called the right office and spoke to MannyHe was very apologetic and offered to have the drivers swap out my furniture the same dayToday I spoke to MrR*** after leaving a message about my concerns of my treatment and he became quite defensive by saying, but you called the incorrect officeI informed him that I did not know that I was until TuesdayHow Delmon treated me is my complaintHe did not have to dismiss me and become so combative with me from Saturday to TuesdayI makes me feel as though my hard earned money isnt ***reciated from this companyI have been a long time customer however I do not believer I will continueI ***reciate Manny for his stellar customer service, which should be trained across this company

I purchased a living room sectional on 5-20-2015, I was very clear about what I was looking for & concerns of quality.so the manager who sold me this item assured me it had an limited 1yr warranty...& if there were any breakage or defects in it just give them a call & they would replaced the items with no hassal..so I purchased it & he.assured me it was brand new.,but after months of having it the hardware gave in ,& broke on the inside of both section of the sectionalsI contacted the store ask for the manager who sold me the items & I begin getting the run around.he would dodge taken the calls, or put me on hold for 30+mins,& I was directed to speak with another manager who then told me there where no warranty on the furniture,it wasn't new ,it was use off the floor...so I just waited & tried to get their Corp.office contact info.& was told they are the Corp.location.so I just got very aggravated & left it alone On Jan.19,I contacted

In the bringing of July we went to American Freight in Carnegie, Pa to purchase furniture for our new placeThey had a whole house furniture package for $You got a couch, a love seat, two end tables, a coffee table and two lampsYou also got a kitchen table, chairs andA queen bedroom suite, a mattress and boxspringThey told us we could tweak the package and upgrade things, and pay a little extra and so we didWe got a nicer bedroom set and a better mattressWe paid for the furniture in full on July 29thWe were told that they were getting a shipment in, in a few days and that they would send us picture of the color options for a couch and we could pick themIt wasn’t untill about August 10th I had to call and ask for the pictures which they gave me a Hard time about sending but they were the ones who offered to do it in the first place since we lived about mins away)So after several phones called and talking to different people someone finally sent me some options and at that time we chose black and scheduled our delivery date for Sept 9thI had a bad feeling about this place so I asked my fiancé to call and verify they had all the right information for usHe called and they didBlack couches and being delivered Sept 9thGreatSept 4th we called to verify it was coming this Saturday (the 9th) he assured us we were on the scheduleI still felt uneasy and called the 8th“Oh yes you’re all set for tomorrowThey will call you when they get your furniture on the truck”Well the 9th came and we never got furnitureI called the delivery company around because we waited all day and never showedThey told me I was never on their list to pick up todayAt this point the store was closedSo we went there first thing the next morningWe talked with the store manager Chris, to be told that not only was our delivery date in the computer as the 30th but we never had ordered a boxspring or a frameSo I said the boxspring came in the package and we asked for a frame and our sales associate, Dwayne said he would throw in for freeso Chris tells me they would throw it in at their convenience because they messed up somewhereWe also asked that they waive the delivery fee because of our troubles and they did which I was greatful for Our furniture was eventually delivered that day around 6pm, at which now the store was closedWhen the delivery people came and delivered our stuff we had realized everything was in boxes and needed to be built, which Dwayne had told us everything would indeed be assembled and setup but that was not the caseAnd then as the story gets worse they only had a pc bedroom set for us and told us that was all we orderedI was so upsetThey dropped off what they had and as we began to open boxes to set up everything, almost every single piece we had gotten was either broken, bent, scratched or damaged in some wayThe end tables and coffee table were in boxes and each piece was bent a different way making it extremely difficult to buildI paid $for a fancy lamp that was broken in two places as well as several pieces of the chandeliers that hung from it were brokenThe dresser was scratched along the sideAnd the headboard came with no directions and screws that were too long so when we put it together the screws came out the other sideNow it’s Monday I call the store manager, Chris, back again, upset because we had ordered the “whole house furniture package” which we were told included a pc set why did we only get pc? When we upgraded we told our sales associate we just wanted a nicer quality and would pay the upgradeHe apologized and didn’t know what went wrong where and they offered to send out a replacement for all the damaged furnitureI declined and said we were so upset with all the problems and quality we didn’t want it and would like to return it and he obligedWe did however keep the mattress, boxspring and couchesThe manager then told me that when they pick up the furniture they would give us a credit that day when the stuff was back to their storeThey came back that Friday to pick up the damaged stuff around and said we were the last stopThe next morning I called the manager asking for the refund and he gave me the run around on how he had to go make sure everything was there firstHe told me he would call me back shortly after he did thatIt had been about hours and I haven’t heard back so I called again and he told me he’s still waiting to hear back from the delivery company to verify what we returned since it got taken to their other storeAnother hours go by and I call back again and he says “oh yeah I can refund your card now”We got a credit of $for the things we returned when we originally spent $1,But no other real compensation for all the time and hassle of everythingThe sales associates seem to have no idea what they are doingHow did we call them twice the week before delivery to verify the date and both times we were told yes you’re on the schedule to not getting our furniture and finding out there was a wrong delivery date? HORRIBLE experiencePlease nobody ever buy from this company!! I got the number to the VP of the company as well, called him times and left a message every time about the huge problems I’ve had and never got a phone call back from him, not even from a receptionist or anythingThey have TERRIBLE customer service and I will make sure everyone I know, knows about our bad experience and the terrible quality of the furnitureThe mattress is the only thing good that came from themIt’s been weeks of sleeping on it so we’ll see how long it lasts forThe two couches we kept from there are horriblevery uncomfortable, they creek and make cracking sounds every time someone sits on itWas not worth $I don’t even want to call them back again because of the horrible experience I’ve had with themI’ll be throwing them into the dumpster and buying new ones elsewhere

This was the worst shopping experience I've ever had on multiple levelsOn May 17, I went to American Freight in GoodlettsvilleThe mattress I needed was not in stock as it was advertised on the locations website The store manager then told me that they could order it but that it would take up to a month to receive After a month I contacted the store and was told the item I purchased and was waiting for was "discontinued" This had not been communicated to me what-so-ever until I called them wondering where my mattress was that I had already paid for I then went to the store's location and requested a refund The store manager told me that since I had paid in cash that a corporate check would have to be issued and that it could take up to weeks After weeks, I contacted the store manager again, was put on hold numerous times and was finally told that they "don't know what happened" to the check and was hung up on I then contacted the American Freight corporate office, left messages over a week time span and never received a call backIn the meantime, I contacted the store location and had them re-issue another corporate check and was told it would be another weeks After yet another weeks and no refund check, we contacted the general manager for the 3rd time and he was finally able to give us some kind of resolution It is now August 3rd and we are just now getting the refund check The shopping experience and customer service was horrible in the store as well as the corporate office I will never, ever again even consider purchasing anything from this company in the future

It seems as though they are willing to give me the mattress that I wanted, dispite them previously saying no returns or exchanges.If it is possible to close or remove this complaint that would be awesome.Sorry for wasting your time,Thank you,***

My experience with this company occurred after we purchased some furniture from the American Freight Furniture company *** *** *** location)Do not let them talk you into using their furniture delivery serviceIf you cannot pick up the furniture your self PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSEthe company that they contract to deliver for them are Con Artists!!!! I have had such a terrible experience with this delivery company and the furniture company that I will never purchase anything from them againThey give you the run around and lie directly to your faceNone of them can be trusted!! I expected my furniture to be delivered between and 4pm I was told at the furniture store by the lady behind the counter that that is the typical delivery time but I will be notified by the delivery company when they are enroute approxmins prior to their arrivaltimes the delivery driver told me that they didn't have my furniture & gave me three different locations on its whearabouts (north side, south side , and out of stock) before saying they will be here in minsIt's now going on 10pm and I am still waitingThe furniture store was no helpWhen I expressed my concern I was told well we are closed nowThis company also gave me the run around , they told me that the furniture I purchased was damaged and that they needed to give me something else or I would have to wait for an unforeseen amount of time for them to provide a replacement when I inquired about refunding my payment they said that process is forfeited when you purchase an item through layaway! Then all of sudden they found my furniture and it was an order discrepancy***!!!

I went to the *** store #on March 11th and me and my husband picked out a loveseat and sofa set that was not in stock at the timeThey said it was a special order and could take from 6-weeks to arriveWe agreed and did all the paperwork and gave our credit card information to have the weekly payment deductedThe store manager *** said we won’t withdraw from your account until you actually have possession of the furnitureI said ok that works and that was itOn March 16th at 12:49pm I received a call that my furniture was already in and we could pick it up or have it delivered for $dollarsWe opted to pick it up and told the lady on the phone that o would do soShe said to come after so that there would be people in the warehouse to help load the furnitureOn Saturday March 17th we borrowed a trailer and loaded my children into my truck and went to go pickup the furnitureI arrived there and was told that they were understaffed and we had to waitAfte

I would not recommend buying furniture here, but if you do, make sure to bring your own tape measure! Apparently they are difficult to useMy boyfriend and I came into the store one Friday and decided to buy a couch/loveseat set for our living roomI told the employee multiple times that it needs to be delivered in the afternoon the following day as Ill be at work and my boyfriend has a prior commitmentWe were told no problem; the store doesn't open until 10am and the drivers will call an hour or two in advanceI'm sitting at work (about a half hour from my house) when I receive a call from the delivery men that they are minutes away....its 9:20amI have to leave work, rush home & make the delivery guys wait for me to arriveThe delivery guys (contracted by american freight) explained that what the employee told me the prior day was totally incorrectThe STORE opens at 10am but they start delivery at 8amHow does he not know this?
Anyways, the couches will not fit through our doorway and I have to return to the store for an exchange of smaller couchesLet's not forget, I just paid these guys $($+ tip) to not deliver anything I once again meet with the same employee and give him the dimensions that will fit through the doorwayHe agreed to exchange the first set for a sectional at no additional costThe width of this new couch is 27" according to said employee and will definitely fit through our doorOnce I get home, I receive a call from him concerned the couch might be too big after allHe states the width is more like 28" and that makes him nervousWhile I'm on the phone with him I measure the doorway...its 29.5" with the door on...shouldn't be a problemOnce again, the delivery men bring the new couch and IT WON'T FIT THROUGH THE DOORThe couch is 32" wide I have to pay them another $and our living room is EMPTYMy boyfriend gets on the phone with the employee who is pointing all of the blame at me -- "I told her they wouldn't fit, I warned her in advance." I had to explain multiple times that he gave me a dimension...that's why I told them to deliver the couchesHe measured the couches TWICE and was still off by 4"? I am fuming at this pointI go back to American freight AGAIN to get my full refund for the couchesSo basically I wasted my entire day and lost around $(hours missed at work + delivery fees)I called Corporate numerous times, trying to get at least one of the deliveries fees refundedThe customer service rep advised that delivery fees are nonrefundable, it says so on the receiptMeanwhile, one of the workers in the store told me specially to call and ask for a refund?? I am demanding to speak with someone elseThe customer service reps assures me the VP will call me to discuss the matterDo you think he ever called? NopeSave your time and money and go elsewhere

I purchased furniture from American Freight in Metairie LA in April I made payments on the furniture because my house was not to be completed until June There were NO issues with our original salesman and my living room sectionalside chairs, dining table and chairs were delivered on time with no problems
01/I noticed that my table began to bubble/bulge in spotsI called American Freight and they advised that I have to call the Guardian Warranty Company to file a warranty claim I did that and they said that my warranty does not cover the bulging wood on my table and that I have to speak with American Freight because it is a manufacturer issue
