I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.As a policy matter, I would strongly recommend the business advise customers who decline to pre-pay for the EZ Pass service that they must manually remove the transponder from the rental car, to prevent automatic activation and the subsequent fine, of the type that occurred in this case.It seems highly unlikely that the user of a rental car agreement would know in advance, or feel comfortable, altering the contents of the rental car they were provided without explicit instructions.In other words, this is an error that is likely to happen in the future to other customers and is something that can be easily avoided. Thank you.

I am sorry to hear of your experience at the rental pickup and that you were not provided information regarding the PlatePass All-Inclusive tolling service. As a business partner to [redacted]...

[redacted], we process tolls and violations issued to the rental vehicles when this tolling service is not elected at rental. Our records indicate that the [redacted] reported tolls on three separate occasions for the silver Mazda associated with your rental time frame of 12/10/2016 through 12/18/2016. We make every attempt to bill for tolls on one notice. However, there are some occasions, such as this where the Toll Authority completes processing the license plate at a later date. Generally, we receive tolling information 1-3 weeks after the return date of the vehicle. [redacted] [redacted] offers the PlatePass All-Inclusive toll service at a daily or weekly rate depending on the duration of the rental. This pass works to cover all tolls during the rental at one flat rate. If elected at the time of rental, the cost is added to the total rental charges. The other option would be for the customer to contact the local toll authority to make direct payment arrangements, if available. Our records indicate based on the duration of your rental, the cost of the toll pass for this rental was $73.47. If you wish to elect this option at this time, it would stop the billing of any additional tolls reported for this rental. It would also remove the current balance on the account of $15.50, and issue a refund to the card charged, for $7.02. My address and Fox Rental Car Company's address are both on the attached document indicating Fox promised to refund $93.18 to my credit card, which they have not done. My phone number is ###-###-####. You have both of our addresses, and I do not see how the attached document I received from Fox...

could be any more clear, so I have provided all requested information. Let me know what other steps are necessary to secure the $93.18 refund. Thank you.

Unfortunately, it does show that additional tolls were reported from [redacted] after the initial billing. We do make the attempt to ensure all tolls are billed in one charge. If the Toll Authority sends additional charges through, per the rental contract, they still must be billed to the renter regardless of the time frame. As we value you as a renter, we have adjusted the account in full. We have also flagged the account so you will receive no further invoices. A refund of the initial charge, $33.15 will be issued via check to the address on the invoice. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing.
