Mr. I[redacted] contacted our customer service department on 12/29/2015 to dispute the tolls and PlatePass charge.  Mr. I[redacted] wanted to see copies of the toll records from the toll authority. Our customer service agent explained the nature of the charges and provided details as reported electronically by FDOT. An invoice was also sent to Mr. L[redacted] with details such as: ‘Toll amount,’  ‘Toll description,’ ‘Toll time/date.’  Mr. I[redacted] subseq[redacted]tly filed a complaint with the Attorney General office File No: L14-3-1080 and was responded to on 01/22/16.  A copy of the rental agreement was provided that explains the service and charges. Unfortunately, we did not find any discrepancies with this rental are unable to issue a refund. We apologize any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you, ATS Processing Services

The Virginia Department of Transportation reported the rental vehicle driving through 3 toll facilities and all tolls were charged to the PlatePass® system. We regret to inform you that we do not have photographs to provide you with as the toll charges are transmitted electronically. However, we can continue to monitor the PlatePass® transponder.   Please be advised that the complete balance for the amount of $95.98 was removed on 05/13/2016. No violations had been located associated to his name or address, so I was unable to determine why, or even if, a second notice was sent on a violation that had been paid...

rental vehicles. Our process does not begin until the tolls have been reported.  Per The Toll Roads, prior to the vehicle being charged, they do allow up to 5 days to make payment online or by phone. Any issues with the Toll Authority’s website or phone system would have to be directed to The Tolls Roads.However, we will provide your feedback to our contact within the Toll Authority.Dollar offers a PlatePass All Inclusive tolling service, which covers all in-network tolls reported during the rental period. on 8/8/2016 and three were reported on 8/12/2016. These reported tolls are what activated the PlatePass® service during your rental.   As Texas is in the process of transitioning to a completely electronic tolling area, rental vehicles are required to have coverage through the license plate. PlatePass® is the standard tolling service available with Hertz rental vehicles. In the event that a renter has not made prior arrangements with the Toll Authority, the rental vehicle plate is charged for the toll. The current rate for the service is $4.95 per rental day, capped at $24.75 for the rental period. This means the fees are based on how long a vehicle is rented versus how many days the service is used. More information regarding the PlatePass® service and billing process can be located on page 3 of the standard rental contract.   We apologize for any confusion in regards to the administrative fee or billing process. As we value you as a renter, we will adjust the administrative fees to one day of use, $4.95, as a one-time courtesy. your name or we will be responsible for making payment towards the violation to prevent further penalties.In this instance the issuing authority did not transfer the liability for the violation into your name. The issuing authority required payment for the violation. After completing research we have found that you are not responsible for the violation and we have issued a full refund for $157.00. Upon review of all the information provided, we have moved forward with the decision of adjusting the account in full as a gesture of goodwill. When we receive toll receipts from renters, normally the information for the toll location tends to be very general concerning date, location and time. Unfortunately, with the detail of information that you have provided along with the fact that the Toll Authority charged the license plate for these 4 locations does indicate a double payment was made. If you still wish to do so, you have the option of contacting the Illinois Tollway directly to determine why the rental vehicle was still charged when you made your payments by cash and their website.
