that a courtesy adjustment was made for $19.80, reducing our fees to one day of use, $4.95. This adjusted amount covered the additional tolls reported, and a refund was initially issued for $1.20.   The tolls were reported via the license plate from 5 different Tolling Authorities. As the plate is registered with [redacted]®, no violations were incurred. Unfortunately, toll images are only available to us in the event an actual violation is issued. In this case, 5 of the tolls reported were electronic tolling bridges which no longer have a cash payment option. As there were 24 tolls reported in cash payable areas, we require receipts to confirm the respective Tolling Authorities. Under normal circumstances, there is not charge to the plate if a payment is made with cash. These charges from the Toll Authorities are what activated the [redacted]® service for your rental. More information regarding the [redacted]® service and billing process can be located on page 3 of the rental contract.   Upon further research of the rental account with Hertz, we were able to identify a possible discrepancy within the rental information. Therefore, we have refunded the remaining amount charged by [redacted]® of $272.30. There will be no further toll charges to your account for this rental. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing.   We value you as a renter and sincerely apologize for this experience. administrative fees. We would advise to contact the Thrifty location directly in regard to request for rental credits. In regard to tolling, Thrifty Rent a Car offers PlatePass All-Inclusive as the tolling pass available for purchase with the rental. In the event that a toll is processed to the license plate without purchase of the toll pass, the renter is billed the toll amount plus a $15 administrative fee.  This is the rate stated on the standard Thrifty rental contract. We make every attempt to bill all tolls in a timely manner. Unfortunately, our process cannot begin nor complete until the Toll Authorities have finished processing the tolls to the vehicle. Our records indicate that we spoke with you on 07/18/2016 and an offer was extended to honor the original rate of the toll pass, $52.49. PlatePass All-Inclusive pass is a flat rate tolling service that covers all tolls during the rental regardless of when reported. Acceptance of this pass would cease any further charges, reduce, and refund the difference of $26.89. As we value you as a renter, we can offer a one time courtesy reduction of 50% of the administrative fees. This would reduce and refund $37.50 to the card charged. The caveat of this offer is that it does not cease billing if further tolls were reported. PlatePass was not used. PlatePass® is a convenience product that provides electronic toll payment enabling renters to use high speed electronic toll lanes and bypass backups at cash lanes. Please note, PlatePass® will only accrue charges if tolls are reported to the vehicle. The renter has the option to utilize PlatePass® or use these three alternative toll payment methods to avoid additional fees aside from not utilizing the toll roads: ·         Option one is to pay cash ·         Option two is to submit payment by phone, online or mail to the Toll Authorities directly ·         Option three is to utilize a personal toll transponder device As it is at the discretion of each toll authority which tolling payment options they will allow, we recommend that drivers contact them directly in advance of using toll roads. on 4 separate days between 07/21/2016 and 07/25/2016. A 5th toll was reported by the New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) on 07/25/2016. As the vehicle was rented for more than 5 days, the maximum administrative fee of $24.75 was assessed. Our records do show that a total charge of $58.50 for tolls and fees was placed to the card on file as of 08/03/2016.   The PlatePass® service is structured on your rental as a whole when activated. The current rate for the service is $4.95 per day, based on the duration of the rental and capped at $24.75 per rental period. More information regarding the PlatePass® service and administrative fee structure can be located on page 3 of the standard Hertz rental contract.   As we value you as a renter, we have reduced the administrative fees to one day of use, $4.95, as a one time courtesy. customer has declined the PlatePass® All-Inclusive option.Our records indicate that this was a rental picked up at Washington National Airport in Virginia and turned at Logan International Airport in Massachusetts. We show 6 tolls reported on 4 separate days between June 14th and June 19th. The standard Dollar contract explains the tolling & billing processes on pages 5 and 6. The rental location would not be aware of the specific routes the customer will be utilizing. Therefore, these pages explain that there are areas in which cash is not an option for payment. A copy of your contract for this rental is attached.Please note, renters will only accrue charges if tolls are reported to the vehicle. As it is at the discretion of each toll authority which toll payment options they will allow. We recommend that drivers contact them directly when tolls are accessed to determine the best course of action regarding direct payment of the tolls utilized.As a one-time courtesy, we have removed $60 in administrative fees, leaving a balance of $47.85. This breaks down to $7.50 for each of the 4 days tolls were reported to the license plate, and the tolls reported of $17.85.
