The company's response does not resolve the issueI didn't sign a contract nor accept any term or conditionsI asked the store associate PRIOR to swiping my card if my card would be used again for additional charges, I was told noWhen the manager called me the FIRST time, she stated the collections dept made the error in charging my card simply because it was on fileShe stated it was only sent as a promissory noteSo, who is at fault for giving falsified information? Uhaul is rediculousI will never EVER USE uhaul

First, I am not a MsI can see the level of attention to my situation has not changed.Second, I did speak with MrS*** on the issue and after much discussion he came to realize that he was missing many facts and was incorrect on key factorsHis offer of $was given under the assumption that the $value of loss did not include depreciation, when in fact this was the amount determined by his appraiser MrJohn A*** with depreciation includedFollowing the logic that $(assuming depreciation is not included) warrants a $refund, then $(with depreciation included) warrants a higher dollar amount than $750. He also insinuated that my belongings were wet prior to being put in storageHe was not informed that a loose paper was found in my unit with someone else's name on it and was dated two months after my deployment beganThis paper had clearly been soaked at one point and then dried out as it was wrinkled and discoloredClearly, the water entered the unit after my possessions had been stored thereHe argued the fact that the water had come through the ceilingI forwarded him the picture that has been included in every correspondence on this issue that shows the massive water stain on the ceiling directly above the unitMrS*** told me he would reexamine the issue given the new information he was aware of and would get back to meI have not heard from him since. The message left for me is requesting my address so they may mail me a check for $I have assured him that $is not an acceptable amount and I refuse to afford UHaul the opportunity to buy my submission by forcing a check into my hands.In the interest of finishing this I will accept $1,as a settlement ammountThank you to all involved.Respectfully sent,*** ***

December 15th Unfortunately the small community Mr*** lives in presents some challenges when scheduling The confirmation email sent to Mr*** only stated he selected a 17-foot moving van and the Carbondale location was his preferred pick up location He was advised a U-Haul representative would be calling to confirm the most convenient time, size of equipment and location within 24-hours prior to his pick up Our Traffic Manager called the same day and gave multiple options to Mr*** A 20-foot truck was offered in Dotsero as well as a 15-foot truck and a trailer, at no extra cost, just down the road in Glenwood Springs Neither option was acceptable Mr*** stated he could only take the trailer if he could pick up on Wednesday, which then would have also changed his time-line in the move He was then offered and accepted a 24-foot truck but returned it because he felt unsafe driving it so the contract was reversed He took a 14-foot truck the next day to make his move Mr*** made three different agreements, which may have ended up costing him money but was not due to U-Haul not working with him nor giving him a viable option Please be advised we fulfilled the confirmed agreement with Mr*** Our customers are very important to us and we regret to hear of situations that cause problems for themThank you for bringing this matter to our attention and allowing us to offer a response.Sincerely,Maria P*** ***U-Haul International

I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedAdditional information in the response was inaccurate and untrue because I never received a call due to the change of equipment size via telephone from a U-haul representative between the time I completed my online reservation, received a written guaranteed reservation for a 6Xvia email, and arrived at the designated U-haul facility for pick-up. As a matter of fact, as mentioned in my complaint I was not informed about a change in the size of the equipment during my telephonic discussion with a u-haul representative when I called the preferred pilocation (Harveys Emissions Veterans Memorial Hwy Mableton, GA 30126) contact number ***) that was listed in my initial email guaranteed confirmation

I am grateful that U-Haul did finally make this correction, but this was to a separate different complaint and case, in which I was overcharged and generally had a poor experience (I gave U-Haul most of my business in the past) I explained this to *** *** *** in a response to his email, but never received a response from him As stated in the original complaint, this is a complaint for U-Haul both failing to keep a different reservation and failing to honor the advertisement to pay me $

There is virtually nothing in this response that is truthful or accurate.I never received any calls from My *** *** despite many promises from his staff that he would call I have tried to reach him at least times - and his staff claims he called in one case Mr *** *** from the Arizona Office explained that Mr *** did call me - when in fact no call, no message was ever received. These are total and complete fabrications.It is also not correct that there was gas in the fuel tank prior to our test drive We were told the fuel pump was replaced as the sole reason there was no gas in the truck We supplied our own gas which we purchased on the way to the test driveThis is further evidence that U-haul either has not taken this situation seriously - or continues to build their story on a stake of further untruths.We were asked no to drive far ( just around the block) by the store manager Ms *** *** ( sp) the reason cited was no insurance or licenseWe heeded her request and only took it for a very short drive-where the truck performed satisfactorily in the 1-mile slow speed test.We purchased the vehicle based.We intended to have the truck inspected by a mechanic prior to entering it into the fleetOn the way to the mechanic - approx 2-miles from the store that sold the truck - the engine failedIt took several weeks and separate mechanic visits to uncover:1) The engine has lost compression in cylinders2) After the mechanic took a sample of the fuel from the fuel tank it was was fully tainted with rustThe mechanic stated that it was impossible that the fuel pump was replaced, and that the truck was likely sitting dry for a long period of time prior to being sold, or the fuel take would not have corroded and fouled the fuel This is likely a complete covby the selling agent.Finally, after filing a complaint with the Florida Department of Highway Safety, we discovered that the Fort Walton Store was illegally selling vehicles - and that they did not hold the required license to conduct such business They have been issues a cease and desist order from the State of Florida.There is a string of illegal activities and representations by U-haul as described above - and I have never been given the opportunity to discuss a reasonable resolution.I continue to be willing to reach a settlement with U-Haul- despite their repeated statements and illegal activates.If I am forced to seek civil remedies, I will not be easily satisfied.This behavior is outrageous !*** ***
