SCAM! I scheduled a basic tune up for the winter The technician came out and drilled a hole in the vent, stating the furnace had been installed backwards so a drilled hole was the only way he could inspect itHe snaked a camera in and stated the heat exchanger looked cracked and called for a 2nd opinion from a senior techHe also stated the Olevels were off and the airflow was badSenior tech came out, checked and red-tagged my furnace! Cold front just blew in and my heat was turned off! Disconnected from the gasThey claimed my furnace was a hazard and I needed a new oneBase price was about $and the same amount to replace the heat exchanger so I might as well get a new one They said as my furnace was backwards and too close to the wall, they had to rip the entire thing out and reinstall it properly(The wall was just a cheap panel to the finished basement)I nodded and listened to them but it didn't sound right I flat out told them I was calling someone elseThey said they legally had to red tag it and turn it off
I called a 2nd company and a technician came out, unscrewed the panel (vs using a drilled hole) and fully inspected it He said nope! The heat exchanger IS FINE The furnace was NOT installed backwards, I just need a better access door in the cheap panel wall next to it(it's cheaper to cut an access door in a panel wall vs ripping out and reversing a furnace installation)He removed the red tag, reconnected the gas and did a thorough inspectionHe gave my furnace a clean bill of healthSaid its working fine, is a newer furnace and there wasn't even any corrosion on the heat exchanger, much less a crack I will not EVER call Uptown again Not when they tried to rip me off by $(which is what they quoted for a heat exchanger element replacement)

Everyone I worked with during my visit was kind, knowledgeable, and showed a genuine concern for my situationThey provided good information while emphasizing safety and the understanding that I had options Niall spent the most time - and he did a great job of breaking down his explanation into understandable termsI really appreciate the added benefit of a 2nd technician coming to confirm the work needed in my specific situationIt gave me confidence that they were providing sound advice

We were very happy with Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling They were timely, friendly, and efficient They listened to what we wanted, and quickly got us on their schedule The installation crew did a great job and left everything very clean We would recommend them and use them again

Service technician, Bob ***, called on my home to inspect my boiler and water heaterHe was friendly, professional, and knowledgeableHe explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and provided tips on how I could make sure everything was running properly in the futureI will use Uptown and Bob *** for any future needs

This review is in regards to the Uptown Community Spaces provided by Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, IncI have used there space for practicing for a line dance competition for the past yearsIt was available to us for "FREE" as in "NO CHARGE"The locations were all convenient, clean, and spaciousI truly appreciate what they have done for the community and it has been truly a blessing

Once again, the team from Uptown Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling provided comprehensive service, this time installing my new furnace and air conditioner
As usual, I received a phone call the day before to remind me of the scheduled service and the names of the field service personnel I'd be working withIn addition, I received an email reminder indicating that the team was on its way to my townhouse
From the minute they arrived, the field service guys were very friendly and outgoingIn many respects, I felt like a couple of friends were doing the installationThey invited me to watch them at work and ask questions at any time during the installationThey also worked very well together, one focusing on the furnace and the other on the air conditioner
When the installation was complete, the lead person provided very detailed illustrations of the varioius steps they used in both installations, focusing on ways in which this installation was a little different (and better) than my original furnace and air conditionerHe also provided clear instructions on forms that I had to send in as follto finalize everything
There wasn't a bit of debris left over; in fact, they swept out my garage!

So I had work completed recently and the cost was around 10,to replace water heater and install new gas linesI work in the medical field and am really busy honestly I don't know much about market prices including costs of house related items and needed to get the work done quick as the person told me it was urgent with the gas leakWell days later my spouse was able to talk to her father that has worked in the construction business and basically told me they screwed meHe told me the max cost to replace gas pipes with copper should ran at max dollars and I was charged over 4,dollarsAnyways when I did some research with the cost of water heat and the gas pipes and got quotes from other businesses around the area I was shocked to realized I would of saved about 4,dollars in costAlmost a percent mark up from the market rate pricesThat is crazy! So needless to say I am going to stop using them and stop referring any of my friends and coworkers to them and tell everyone I tell everyone to get a second OpinionThis sort of behavior happens in health care as well when providers say something is needed and makes you feel like its life or death and then overcharge for different testing, etcIt's may not be illegal but it's down right unethical

I had two leaks in my bathroomOne in the faucet of the bathtub and the other in
the toiletSean from Uptown Plumbing fixed both of them in a timely mannerThis was done in December, It is now May, and the leaks have not returned so I am confident the work was done right
I should note that Sean also salted my sidewalk and steps at no additional costI will hire this company next time I have a leak and I will request Sean WMy

This was for an annual furnace water heater check up
Very accommodating on setting up appointment date and two hour window of time
We were notified the day befor that we would be the technicians first appointment at 9:am
Joseph, the technician was right for on timeHe explained what he was going to do, how long it would take, asked if we had any questions or concerns before he started
While he was working, Joseph filled out an online form and sent it to us on his progress and what he found
The service call took a little over an hourWe then got a verbal review of Joseph's inspection

Bob Ddid a great job, and was pleasant the whole way through He hit a few "snags" along the way, but was able to troubleshoot and get the job done He also cleaned up after he was done, which is a nice bonus

The technician that completed the installation of my new AC today was very courteous and informative When I asked for a recommendation on how to prevent outdoor cats from urinating on my AC, thus ruining the coils, he did an on-line search and came up with a few suggestions
