Revdex.com:They are lying they told me to call magna flow. I did magna flow refused to homer the warranty because I proved I bought my parts from buy auto parts.com and they are on the do not sell list by magna flow. Also limited liability law states they are responsible for all parts and labor caused by said defective part. This 260 exhaust piece was delivered damaged and destroyed the 600 magna flow cat back system that goes behind it. They refuse to acknowledge anything any fault as they have from the beginning. I have 0 calls from them I have 0 emails from them. In fact after I followed there orders and talked to Mark from magna flow and was told magna flow would not honor my warranty because they are on the Don not sell list from magna flow I called them back and they hung up on me, why? Because they got caught. So I'm out 1300. I would be happy with a front exhaust manifold and a new rear dual exhaust kit that was destroyed and eat the labor but they refuse to admit that there defective part ruined my whole exhaust kit. I am a disabled veteran who maxed out his credit cards to get this exhaust kit so I could sell this car. Then know this. They also know I had a lot of tragedy happen in my family since April yet they lied to mark from magna flow saying they try numerous times to contact me and I refuse to answer? I never received a single phone call or an email. Yet I have a catalog of emails I have sent them as well as numerous un answered phone calls. When I was told by magna flow them selves that they are not a authorised retailer and can not honor my warranty [redacted] told me to do my research to see how the law can help me. I did and not only was mark right but in finding out they are responsible for any and all damages cause by the defective part. The constant rattling from the front exhaust I purchased vibrated the whole system which shook my rear set so hard it rattled the bolts right off the car and half off the system fell off the car going 50 mph which almost caused a huge accident and could of cost many lives. The only 1 not willing to do anything here is buy auto parts.com

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. They say that they're willing to help me and they say I have not called them but that is simply just not true. I called them twice and left 2 messages. Magna flow will not give me my parts because buy auto parts.com is on the magna flow do not sell list. So they were never allowed to sell me my parts in the first place. I am willing to accept a front exhaust exact as I bought that is not damaged and a rear muffler set that I purchased brand New that was damaged because of the defective part. Only I can not get a hold of them. But I already know they won't do this as they have told me numerous times in the past they won't help me which is what brought me here in the 1st place. I need to know what you need as far as documentation so I can pursue this further.

Dear [redacted],

I read your return policy at the time of purchase. It states in your response that you will not refund any installed parts. How is a customer supposed to know a part is defective if you do not install
the part and realize it is an inferior product. Your own representative stated that the parts may be inferior in the cold weather months. Review your tape if your messages are recorded. My mechanic worked
for a dealership for 10 years and owned his own business for many years as well. He clearly states when I bring the vehicle to him that the struts are defective. I will not cease on this complaint until
I receive due justice. I have never filed a complaint with the Revdex.com in my entire adult life. These struts are very poor and anyone who rides in my 2000 Toyota Camry states how terrible the clanking noises are
in the front end. I will await your response.

Worst customer service ever. They state that they are parts professionals and will warranty the part fits. I did purchase a part for one of my fleet vehicles, paid next day shipping. To my surprise when I open the box wrong part inside call back to get and explanation and representative was rude and hang on me. Call back talk to someone different told them what happen that the first time I call gave the representative I gave him year model and vin number out of my truck even the part number stamped on my turbo and that they still send me the wrong part and finally have them email me a return label. I send the package the very same day. It's been two and a half weeks still have not received a refund. Worst place to do business.

I ordered a part for my car which was "guaranteed" to fit, yet they sent me the wrong part. I ended up ordering the correct part thru my dealership and BAP.com told me they would give me a full refund and pay for shipping. However my refund was not for the full amount. I have read several other complaints about the same thing happening. I think this company intentionally ships the wrong parts and then gets over on customers based on return policies. It was only 15 bucks that was not refunded, but that was MY money and I think it's bad business practice to charge for a return when you (the company) make the mistake. And they can keep the money, I just want to make people aware of what they do.

Hello,

After reviewing your file, it looks like the store credit is still on file. I apologize for any confusion. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience and we'd be happy to apply your $365 credit toward a new order.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Dear [redacted],
I was indeed given a refund, but it was NOT due
to an “exception.”  I was given a refund
because the AC Compressor that your company sent to me was defective and it
states in your contract that “We warranty all automotive parts to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for the period specified on your invoice.” Since the part was not
free from defects I was given a refund.
Set aside from the refund
of the defective AC Compressor, the matter at hand involves the damage that was
done to my condenser due to your defective AC Compressor.  I feel that the company has a moral responsibility
to compensate for damages that their parts essentially were the cause of.  You claim that your part is of “premium quality" – IT IS
NOT.  You claim that your parts are "built
for trouble-free ownership” – IT IS NOT as I have had troubles from the
start.  You claim that your part is “100%
visually inspected and quality tested.” – IT IS NOT because if it were I would
not have received a defective part.  And
finally your company claims that your part is “backed by our 100% satisfaction
guarantee" – really? Well, IT IS NOT.
Again if it were I would not be going through this song and dance with
you.  Your company makes all these claims
to warrant sales and then your company doesn’t own up to them when something
really bad actually occurs.
Your company should refund me
the money that was spent on the condenser repair as it would not have occurred if
it wasn’t for your defective AC Compressor.
I also feel that other
consumers should be aware of your false claims/advertising that you label your parts,
as it is all inaccurate.  Consumers
should do a Google search on your company and look up reviews on other sites. A
little research could go a long way - hopefully they will make the right
decision and choose to purchase elsewhere.

Welcome to our Live Chat. A representative will be here to assist
you shortly, we appreciate your patience.
08:44:31 AM [[redacted]]
[redacted], I would like to chat about your "every part listed for your
vehicle is guaranteed to fit"
08:44:38 AM [[redacted]] Hello, my name is [redacted]
and I will be assisting you today.
08:44:57 AM [[redacted]]
[redacted] is the invoice
08:45:14 AM [[redacted]]
the Front Set Shocks is not a direct fit
08:45:31 AM [[redacted]]
I was told that the shock was a direct fit
08:46:43 AM [[redacted]] Please
give me one moment while I look that up for you today.08:47:44 AM [[redacted]]
okay
08:49:28 AM [[redacted]]
the guarentee fit policy mean based on the information you give us , say year
make and model, the parts should fit.
08:49:53 AM [[redacted]]
Now sometimes parts can be different
08:50:02 AM [[redacted]] could
be a aftermarket replacement
08:50:06 AM [[redacted]]
or OEM
08:50:18 AM [[redacted]]
aftermarket can be different but still fit and function.
08:50:29 AM [[redacted]]
Sometimes they don't have all the same features
08:50:35 AM [[redacted]]
depends on what you want
08:50:50 AM [[redacted]]
IF your looking for exact orginal , you will need to request OEM parts
08:55:36 AM [[redacted]]
I was told and sold that the parts was OEM / Direct fit and that was what I
was expecting. I made it perfectly clear that the socket has to be OEM. I gave
the sale person my VIN and that stated that the shock that was sold to me was
OEM and would fit. He did not tell me that the socket sold to me would
replace the electron design to passive design. I make it perfectly clear that
the vehicle need to keep the electron design.
08:56:07 AM [[redacted]]
therefore I was sold shocks that is not OEM/Direct fit
08:57:31 AM [[redacted]]
This is a OEM replacement
08:57:35 AM [[redacted]]
not actual OEM
08:57:40 AM [[redacted]]
OEM you need to get from the dealer
08:58:03 AM [[redacted]]
That is not what I was told
08:58:04 AM [[redacted]]
OEM is also A LOT more expensive
08:58:29 AM [[redacted]]
to maintain that electronic feature you are going to pay hundres of extra
dollars
08:58:34 AM [[redacted]]
when most people don't even use it
08:58:41 AM [[redacted]]
I am not most people
08:58:47 AM [[redacted]]
I wanted OEM
08:58:51 AM [[redacted]]
Well if your willing to Pay A LOT more
08:58:55 AM [[redacted]]
you can get OEM
08:59:15 AM [[redacted]]
That is what I thought your company sold was OEM
08:59:22 AM [[redacted]]
These parts are very good price...and they have lifetime warranty
08:59:33 AM [[redacted]] I
highly suggest the arnott OE replacements
08:59:45 AM [[redacted]]
but if you want to return them your going to Pay a lot more for OE
09:02:17 AM [[redacted]]
I have been sold parts under false statement by your sale person. It costing
me 500 plus in labor and now I have to get parts from somewhere else because
you do not sale OEM parts and pay addition shop cost and part cost.
09:03:21 AM [[redacted]]
So you want to spend all that money to take them out return them and spend
even more money to get a feature that is honestly not worth the money?
09:03:36 AM [[redacted]] I
mean we can't give refunds for installed parts
09:03:52 AM [[redacted]]
If you already installed them then we can't take them back.
09:04:05 AM [[redacted]]
that is what I thought I was paying for in the first place,
09:04:22 AM [[redacted]]
Well im sorry you didn't understand what you were buying.
09:04:47 AM [[redacted]]
OEM parts usually cost A LOT more than OE replacements
09:05:06 AM [[redacted]]
Getting such a great deal it would have been obvious these aren't Original
factory parts.
09:05:40 AM [[redacted]]
Its always good to familiarize yourself with Original parts vs OE
replacements(aftermarket)
09:05:54 AM [[redacted]]
Original parts are usually only obtained from Dealers
09:06:18 AM [[redacted]]
Sometimes though we can special order you Original parts at a lower cost than
the dealership.
09:06:19 AM [[redacted]]
Dude, I knew exactly what I wanted and needed, Your sale person assumed that
I did not want to pay for the higher cost of parts and basically sold me
something that he want me have
09:06:49 AM [[redacted]]
Okay I Understand that, but you installed the parts already.
09:07:08 AM [[redacted]]
If you would of opened them and said wait these aren't Original and wanted to
return them , it wouldn't be a problem
09:07:13 AM [[redacted]]
but you installed them already
09:07:41 AM [[redacted]]
I researched the part with the dealership and your company and also provide
the oem part number from the dealer ship. And your sale person cross refer
the number and stated the socks would be OEM
09:08:25 AM [[redacted]]
I need to speak to a manager in your sale depart
09:08:42 AM [[redacted]] In order to better assist
you, please give us a call at 1 888-907-7225.09:12:01 AM [[redacted]]
Who is the manage on duty today
09:13:43 AM [[redacted]]
Will your company cover the shop cost for the service today and the cost to
put on OEM parts
09:14:36 AM [[redacted]]
Unfortunately Labor is not covered under the warranty only parts.
09:14:53 AM [[redacted]] Our
manager is in just ask to speak with them when you call in please.
09:14:57 AM [[redacted]]
Was there anything else I may assist you with today?
09:16:28 AM [[redacted]]
no thanks
09:16:33 AM [[redacted]]
Thanks for contacting us. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if we
can be of further assistance.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The response states that they are not responsible because the warranty period expired.   But at no time during the one year warranty period did I have a working steering box.   Each of the four steering boxes they sent was defective in that each was just a warn out old steering box spray painted (right over the dirt and grease), boxed, and sent to me.
They had advertised and I had purchased a "remanufactured" steering box which means that all necessary parts should have been replaced or machined to bring the steering box back to original functionality and safety specifications.
Not one of the steering boxes they sent had ever even been disassembled.  I have two of the boxes in my possession and have had both examined by certified mechanics to ensure that this was not just my opinion.   Both of them are just worn out old steering boxes that have been spray painted, as were the other two they had sent me.
I also had one of the other steering boxes they sent examined by a mechanic and it too had never been remanufactured.   I have sent copies of the mechanics reports as well as photos of the non-remanufactured steering boxes to BuyAutoParts.com, which is why they were willing to take back the fraudulent parts and replace them so many times.
I was unaware that they were just stringing me along for a year.
Surely a warranty does not start until the correct product ordered is delivered.
So,  yes,  I reject the idea that their responsibility ended one year from the original purchase date because at no time during that year did they ever send me what I had ordered, a working remanufactured steering box.
Regards,
[redacted]
P.S.  The reason so much time has passed is that I keep giving them opportunities to do the right thing.  I have called them on several occasions and they have,  each time,  been very rude.  I have also consulted an attorney who has advised me that I clearly can win this case.  I have not yet brought this to court due to chronic health issues (exacerbated by the stress of this, by the way) and due to the continued hope that the people at BuyAutoParts.com will do the right thing.   This attempt to appeal to their moral conscience through the Revdex.com is a last attempt before court and extensive media coverage.
The fact that BuyAutoParts.com was willing to replace the first three steering boxes is clear admission that all of them were not remanufactured,  and I have the fourth in my possession complete with pictures and video of it right out of the box, including video of it immediately failing to function,  and a written statement from a certified mechanic that it too is just a spray painted warn out old steering box.   It also has original bearings (marked "vw") and seals still in it from the factory. ... ...parts that would have been replaced had it been remanufactured.

Plenty of those parts that you have are obviously no good. After the first TWO turbochargers, your worker admitted that they were bad. Please explain to me how this could be? How could you have bad products in your store? Are they tested? Do they come from other warehouses before coming to your warehouse? From where do you retrieve the parts? You stated that you have sold 100 additional units without any issues. Are these turbochargers? Please explain why out of ALL the complaints filed with Revdex.com, your highest number of complaints come from "PROBLEMS WITH PRODUCT/SERVICES?" This number is 71! Which leads all the other complaints! Does that not seem to bother you all? Please explain to me what other product you would recommend me to purchase from you? I have given you all $1,020. And to still have a problem with the part. This dispute is obviously going no where with you, [redacted]. Therefore, are you telling me that I can constantly continue to switch out Turbochargers with you as a lifelong process when each one does not work? How long are you willing to continue to switch our auto parts with me? Until we get one that finally works? Is that even possible?

On 12/9/2015 I ordered a replacement car stereo for a 1993 Honda Accord according to the company's specs, was shipped a unit different from the one pictured, called customer service and was assured that the shipped unit would work. After attempted installation, not only did the stereo fail to work but the car's heat/air conditioning stopped functioning as well. I returned the unit, it was received there on 12/28/2015. No refund was issued and I called customer service on 2/9/2016. I was told that because the unit had been installed, they will not refund the money but will return the $125 extra core charge that was added to the stereo's $366.07 price (I paid $530.36 total). I believe this company deliberately advises installation of wrong parts so that they do not have to issue a refund.

As previously stated, we are willing to warranty the compressor under policy. We do not cover shipping on international orders. Further, we do not issue refunds on installed parts.

Mrs. [redacted],
On 9/15/2014, you spoke to one of our associates informing him you received the wrong parts. He confirmed per application, the parts sent were correct. You then informed him you had already purchased other parts locally and just wanted a refund on the parts. At this...

point, it became a return issue. Our refund policy states,
"BuyAutoParts.com parts are returnable provided they have not
been installed, used or damaged and are returned within 30 days of
purchase. You will lose shipping (actual shipping
charges if you received free shipping) and there will be a Restocking Fee of 15% ($20 minimum) on ALL returned parts. The customer is responsible for shipping the part(s) back on returned items, including shipping charges. Parts returned
as used or incomplete, or parts returned to a different address will
receive no refund.  Parts that are returned as wrong parts or
defective are subject to a full restocking fee. "
If there was a mistake made on our end, we would have been happy to correct it and get the right part to you. Since you chose to pick the parts up without contacting us first, the return would fall under our normal return policy outlined above.
