December 21st, To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Ms [redacted] ’s complaint # [redacted] The nature of Ms [redacted] ’s complaint is that there were errors or lapses on the part of the FlexPath tutors that led her to go into a Guided Path course which she now has a balance for Ms [redacted] continues to state that the balance she currently owes is due to issues stemming from her FlexPath experienceHowever; this balance is a result of Guided Path courses taken during the summer term in which she dropped the courses after the drop dateIn regards to Ms [redacted] ’s claims regarding FlexPath; members of the FlexPath leadership have spoken to Ms [redacted] several times and there has been no error found that resulted in her inability to be successful We apologize for any hardship this situation may have caused Ms [redacted] , but there is no error regarding the balance due on her account as she dropped these courses after the drop date clearly outlined in University policyWe will not be taking action to reduce her balance or cease collection activityWe encourage Ms [redacted] to respond to our outreach if she has any additional questions or concerns regarding this matter, or requires further clarification Regards,

Ms [redacted] was enrolled in PSY?" Inferential Statistics in the Summer term as part of her MS in Psychology programThe course began on July 13th of 2015, and Ms [redacted] initially and last participated in the course on July 19th of Although Ms [redacted] stated she was unaware that her CogBooks communications were not considered participation, university policy specifically designates ongoing course participation as “the submission and completion of grade-eligible courseroom activities throughout the duration of the course.” (University Policy ?" Course Registration) Additionally; Ms [redacted] had been enrolled in three previous quarters prior to the Summer of 2015, and was aware of the course participation requirements in each of those termsAfter Ms [redacted] did not participate in her course for consecutive days, she was dropped from her course and financial aid was returned to the Department of Education in accordance with Return of Title IV (R2T4) regulations? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? I am rejecting this response because: I will need to print, fill out and fax the form which was sent to meI am at work but will try to take care of it today

? I am rejecting this response because:***See attached release form***

? I am rejecting this response because: Mr [redacted] is twisting the facts in this case for their own benefitI was seeking advice from Matt ***, my tutor, because of this special situation I was going through.? This is on his own words: "I have placed a pause on your auto-registration so that nothing further will register for you when you complete BUS-FP3012"That is very clear to me that I won’t get registered any moreThen he gave instructions on how to discontinue from the universityTherefore, I waited thinking that I was fine based on Matt’s informationWhen I got the $bill (on 10/11/16), I went back and ask why I was being charged and he changed to: "I did place a pause on your account so nothing further started when you completed BUS-FP3012, however when you completed the course we were already well into the new billing session.” Why he didn’t tell me that when on 9/30/2016? I could have continued at the university for another sessionBy this time all my options were gone because I was already two weeks after the classes startedTherefore, what is the function of a tutor, isn't it for helping the students? Or do they just want to mislead them so the university makes more money? If I cannot trust the tutor, who can help us? The other issue is with the different schedules they haveThere is a billing session, academic calendar, and course dates, which makes a very confusing situationI spent a couple of days looking for information on the schedules and on the data, that I gathered, I thought I was on track, but still I asked Matt just to make sure, and unfortunately he gave me the wrong information[redacted] ***

However; in an attempt to aid with Ms [redacted] ’ permanent separation from Capella University, we will be offering her a one-time good faith tuition credit in the amount of $This tuition credit should be reflective within the next 3-business days and will leave her with a balance of $on her account with CapellaMs [redacted] will be responsible for repaying any Department of Education loans taken that she may still maintain a balance on? I am rejecting this response because: 3rd Party Authorization signed and attached

? I am rejecting this response because Capella has never addressed its problemsThis? entire issue began from the very beginning of my experience with CapellaCapella has NEVER EVER accepted any responsibility for the lack of tutors for Stats the FIRST and SECOND time I took it? The delay led to all the problems since? The FLEX PROGRAM was rolled out before it was ready, I? believedI think it would behoove the Revdex.com to find out how many? people took and passed the GenPsych Flex program in its entirety during the time time I enrolled with my first? class with CapellaIt was glitchy and slow and delayed my progress, but Inferential Stats was what really sent my whole? program into a tail spin? I had a? limited window of time to? complete my Masters before relatives in my life were going to need caregivingI was assured there were tutors, SMOOTH RUNNNING websites, and there was no reason someone of my intellect and proven academic history could not complete it in a timely mannerI pointed out the programs' problems regularly, but foolishly kept hoping it would get better.PLEASE NOTE that I was REJECTED from the FLEX PATh program, but Capella took LONGER THAN THEY PROMISED to address my grievancesI have the dates and? recordsTHE DELAY AND DENY tactics holds students of good will and ability to be stuck into the program longerI can only presume this is to make more moneyI am shocked at the shoddiness I found from a REGIONALLY ACCREDITED institutionAttached is an explanation and some artifacts of many I have, to point out problems?

I am rejecting this response because: As my complaint indicates, my issue is in the advisement I received in regards to the cut off Per the two attached emails, my advisor says both "Keep in mind that if you request a drop after the second week of class you are 100% responsible for the tuition of this course" as well as "If you drop your course at any point after unit is completed you are responsible for 100% of the tuition cost." When I was registering for this course and I expressed my concern over being able to make the class work with my schedule, he said that I had two weeks to determine whether I could make it work so I calendared a reminder for exactly two weeks out from the start date of the class to make sure I made the deadlineHaving it stated in different ways is very misleading I am a very responsible individual and do not take deadlines lightly so I would have made a point to take action appropriately had I felt I was advised correctly With this information, I feel that it is understandable how a miscommunication could have occurred and I am asking for understanding as such I feel that it is more that fair for both Capella and myself take responsibility for both of our parts in this and come to a settlement agreement That is just good business practice To address their point about me having no contact with my advisor, he was already made well aware through our conversations that I was unsure whether I would be able to make this work and that I was giving it a try When he reached out to me to discuss my first unit, I indicated that due to my schedule, I was only able to complete homework on Wednesday's and Sunday's if needed which did not leave a lot of time (hence my struggle)Again, I am requesting a settlement in the form of a credit applied to my bill for 75% as this is what I would have been responsible for under the two week drop policy Thank you very much for your time and consideration in this matterBest Regards, [redacted]

September 26, ? To whom it may concern: ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? This letter is in response to Mr [redacted] ’s complaint # [redacted] Mr [redacted] ’s complaint regards the balance due on his account, the collection activities involved with that balance, and a grant he was offered upon enrollment at Capella? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Mr [redacted] enrolled at Capella in the Fall term in a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in CounselingHe began his first course on November 10th of 2014, for which he accepted a financial aid award of $3,that disbursed to his account on 12/1/Pf this disbursement, $disbursed towards his tuition, $disbursed towards what he used as a book voucher to purchase course material, and $1,disbursed to him as a refund for educational-related expensesDespite Mr [redacted] ’s claim, none of the funds disbursed to him (including the refund) were part of any grant he was offered or given to attend CapellaAll of the financial aid that disbursed to his account was in the form of unsubsidized Stafford funding that he voluntarily accepted ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? When Mr [redacted] dropped his course on 12/2/2014, the day after his financial aid disbursed, we were required to return all funds to the Department of Education in accordance with federal regulations regarding Title IV fundingThis left him with a balance on his account of $3,Upon learning of Mr [redacted] ’s dissatisfaction, and that he felt as though he was erroneously admitted to Capella University, we offered him a one-time good faith tuition credit of $2,to apply towards the balance of his tuition and book voucher chargeThe only remaining balance Mr [redacted] owes is the $1,that was sent to him as a refund? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? We apologize for any confusion or frustration this situation may have caused Mr [redacted] , but we feel we have been more than generous with the good faith credit he was offered for his tuition and book voucher chargeThe amount remaining as a balance from the refund sent to him of $1,will remain as a balance on his account, and we will continue with collection activities until this balance is resolvedPlease feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns ?
