Capella University Reviews (255)

I am rejecting this response because: it's not what I was told when I first started; and on my financial aid documents it reads like I wanted the entire amount up front to pay for an entire classIt is advertising because I was never informed and have discussed the lack of an email stating that I was even awarded, in regards to the sep paymentsSo what will happen if I die or quit before hand, then the money never gets to me, hence advertising or making up the rules as you go along.Regards,P [redacted]

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As Capella indicated, they are required to RETURN the unearned portion of financial aid, due to NON-SERVICE They are legally obligated to do this Therefore, I DO NOT OWE Capella anything because Capella did NOT provide ME service eitherYet, Capella is trying to collect money from me, for doing NOTHING !!! This is FRAUD, plain and simple Moreover, I contacted the FTC, as well

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

I am rejecting this response because:
I was misinformed by advising staff and brought that up on multiple occasionsAnd can someone explain how it is within the institutions policy for tutors to not show up for appointments more than once or to only be accessible at late night hours? Additionally is it standard and acceptable for a professor to not respond for weeks? It was when I called to clarify about the fafsa that I was told by and advisor to complete my aid for this year and then subsequently told to submit for last year past the date If the school wishes to take no action I will be taking this to the media and higher education boards The schools practices are predatory and they hold no accountability This is not the first time I have raised any of these concerns I wish for this to be reconsidered before I take further action These practices hold a reputational risk for the school and that should be highly considered I have compiled others who have experienced similar situations and are willing to join me in my claims if it gets to the point I must take it further than this mediation. I did reach out to the scholarship team and have proof that I did so

I am rejecting this response because:This is information I've already stated and the basis of this complaintIf the university had students enrolled in a doctoral program that was retired and not even worthy of a lessor masters degree the students should have been informed and afforded the opportunity to have their tuition refundedThe current excuse is unacceptable!

I am rejecting this response because:
The second billing cycle was autoenrolled by the university without my permissionAccording to their own policy auto enrollment but must be approvedI have multiple emails with the FlexPathCoaches and billing department covering this issueThe class was dropped days after the cycle ended because the alleged self-pace course (FlexPath) is only self-paced when it fits their boiling cycle

November 1, To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Mr*** ***’s complaint #Mr*** complaint centers on assistance he has requested from Capella in arranging the fieldwork for his program, and a claim that Capella has not provided that assistance We apologize for the delay in responding to Mr*** concerns, but the need to reach out to faculty and other school leadership to coordinate a response is taking longer than expected due to our fall quarter breakAlthough faculty has now returned from break, we will still require additional time to craft our response in addressing Mr*** concernsWe do not anticipate it will take longer than business days to respond to his complaintPlease feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns Regards,

September 26, To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to Mr*** ***’s complaint #***Mr***’s complaint regards the balance due on his account, the collection activities involved with that balance, and a grant he was offered upon enrollment at Capella Mr*** enrolled at Capella in the Fall term in a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in CounselingHe began his first course on November 10th of 2014, for which he accepted a financial aid award of $3,that disbursed to his account on 12/1/Pf this disbursement, $disbursed towards his tuition, $disbursed towards what he used as a book voucher to purchase course material, and $1,disbursed to him as a refund for educational-related expensesDespite Mr***’s claim, none of the funds disbursed to him (including the refund) were part of any grant he was offered or given to attend CapellaAll of the financial aid that disbursed to his account was in the form of unsubsidized Stafford funding that he voluntarily accepted When Mr*** dropped his course on 12/2/2014, the day after his financial aid disbursed, we were required to return all funds to the Department of Education in accordance with federal regulations regarding Title IV fundingThis left him with a balance on his account of $3,Upon learning of Mr***’s dissatisfaction, and that he felt as though he was erroneously admitted to Capella University, we offered him a one-time good faith tuition credit of $2,to apply towards the balance of his tuition and book voucher chargeThe only remaining balance Mr*** owes is the $1,that was sent to him as a refund We apologize for any confusion or frustration this situation may have caused Mr***, but we feel we have been more than generous with the good faith credit he was offered for his tuition and book voucher chargeThe amount remaining as a balance from the refund sent to him of $1,will remain as a balance on his account, and we will continue with collection activities until this balance is resolvedPlease feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns Regards, Joe *** Learner Affairs Associate Learner Services & Operations (LSO) Toll Free: 1.888.CAPELLA (###-###-####) Fax: ###-###-#### E-mail: Joseph.***@capella.edu
