Under no circumstances should ANYONE start a contract with CARSHIELD! They are scammers. I just wasted $320.00 on this company who will not refund even the August payment which was just paid. I now have $500.00 worth of work that needs to be done on my car that I can't afford thanks to throwing my money down the drain. They are fraudulent in their dealings. They are NOT honest about what they will cover on your vehicle. Good luck trying to get things fixed and covered!! Dumb ME!
I have been paying carshield everymoth for assistance when my car has is issues of not running. The car has been sitting at the dealership for over a month and So far the dealership has been working with this insurance company to get my car fixed the adjuster has been out to view the car and today I was told that I have to provide information services that were done on my car that no relations to the issue that is occurring with car. I have done called multiple of times they make me be hold long hours or hang up phone or even return my phone calls. This unprofessional that customers including me have been carshield and my car has been sitting at the dealership this long. They also are supposed to provide a rental and that are refusing to provide under the insurance obligation. I have tried to be patient but now its seems they are running a scam and something needs to be done

I wanted to find out the cost of their plans. I refused to buy, and asked them five times so far to take me off their call list and stop calling, but they've called me so much it's turned into harassment.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

This is about the problem I have with Carshield's customer service and the company that they are associated with ***. I tried to get a response from them with a problem I had with a claim. I've tried for 7 weeks to get an answer from them after leaving many texts and making many telephone calls. This is absolutely terrible Customer Service, with no excuse. I was not angry with them and I was very polite with my messages. I expect to be treated in the same way .
Car shield basically scam me out of 69.99 cents. The company called Car Shield does not answer the phone nor do they try to reach out to their customers and I been calling them for 3 days with no respond. I just want my money back and cancel my contract. I feel this company is a scam and I want my money back

My Mechanic submitted the claim last week. He has not heard from anyone. I called several times, left messages, tried to do a three way call with the adjuster without success. No one return my calls after 3 to 4 messages left.A representative told me that an adjuster had called the mechanic . The mechanic said he did not receive any calls and/or voicemail. At this point I have called several times , spending 2 to 3 hours waiting on a queue without success. SO DISAPPOINTING. I received a survey asking me to rate the quality of service , and if I could refer someone to carshield....HOW CAN I EVEN DO THAT.
We apologize for the
delays in facilitating your claim.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most American
Auto Shield ("AAS") employees are working remotely; as a result, some
callers are experiencing connection issues and extended hold times.
Likewise, during the week of July 20, 2020, we experienced interruptions to our
claims and telephone systems. Our systems are now fully operational and
we are working to reach out to all claimants who were affected during the
previous week. We realize these issues are not acceptable and certainly
do not reflect our commitment to provide the highest levels of service.
We apologize for your inconvenience and look forward to providing excellent
service in the future.
We have forwarded your complaint directly to the claims department for immediate review. We do appreciate your continued patience during these unsettled times.

To whom it may concern, The

and I still am rejecting the reply, however, I want to provide updated
information due to a call I receive today. I
did receive a follow-up from *** today and was advised AAS did
make contact and the part should arrive by Friday which I want to thank
AAS. However,
due to the system issues, AAS had I have been without
transportation since 7/15/20, and I have a child which has severe
medical issues and I cannot be without transportation, and I feel AAS
should cover more than 14 days of rental the full rental cost from *** should be covered.I
am not asking to be reimbursed for the Lyft, or the rental car which I
am paying for now, only the rental from ***, due to the lack of
contact from AAS to *** has caused me financial hardship. I appreciate AAS for finally contacting ***, however, I need to be compensated. If a copy of the child's medical information is needed I will provide AAS with the information. Thanks in advance.

On July 20 during a trip to California I noticed my car was making a funny noise. I had it towed to the local Lincoln dealer and the next day it was diagnosed as having a problem with the power transfer unit. I had purchased CarShield’s insurance a couple months prior and looked over my contract where that part was clearly covered by my contract. For the next three days I attempted to contact CarShield over and over again only to finally get through on Friday. They said their phone lines in Colorado had went down because an electrical problem. All this time I was stranded in California spending money on hotel rooms. The claims adjuster said they would have an inspector Go out to look at my car on the following Monday. The next morning I was contacted by the claims adjuster saying that my car repair would not be covered because there appeared to be no fluid in the power transfer unit. After speaking with the service advisor at the Lincoln dealer he said they had drained the fluid to find the source of the problem. The claims adjuster still refused to do the repair. I had the car towed to a shop across the street from where my hotel where the repair was completed. After providing pictures given to me from the mechanic who completed the repair that plainly shows the power transfer unit had a substantial crack I submitted those pictures to CarShield. I had already paid out-of-pocket for the repair. Almost $2000. Not to mention almost $1000 in hotel room fees. I emailed the pictures along with the information of the repair facility to CarShield. Just today I called in because it had been four days since I’ve heard back from them only to be told that the claim is still being denied because the pictures show what appears to be “old oil” that must have leaked out from before and caused the crack. I’m attempting to go this route before filing a formal complaint with the Arizona Department of insurance.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Your contract administrator has reviewed this claim thoroughly. The power transfer unit on your vehicle failed. It was inspected and it was empty and cracked. The unit clearly would not have had any fluid in it when the vehicle arrived as it would all have drained out through the crack. The entire transfer unit shows signs of significant long term leaks with heavy deposits. The deposits do not show a recent leak or loss of fluid as a failure of the case would have shown. Given how long you have owned/driven the vehicle it would have been serviced at least twice for oil changes. The leaks present should have been identified by your repair facility so the vehicle so repairs could be recommended and more significant failures averted. Therefore your claim has been denied for leaking seals and gaskets with continued operation resulting in a failure to the power unit due to lack of lubrication.
CarShield is wiling to refund your payments on both contract in good faith to resolve this matter. Please reach out to us and let us know if you would to proceed with the cancellation and refund. We do appreciate your business and hope to keep you as a CarSHield customer.

I am rejecting this response because:I have plenty of documentation and information from the two mechanics worked on my car that states my claim is legitimate and should be honored. The fact that car shield would rather go the route of canceling my contract and no longer having me as a customer instead of paying my claim goes to show that they know that they are in the wrong for this matter. They’ve contacted me twice by phone since I filed this claim with the Revdex.com I have been very rude and contradictory about their reasoning for not honoring the claim. They sent me an email stating and very vague wording why they are not honoring their claim which contradicts the contract that I have with them. At the bottom of the email it states that I am not allowed to share that email under the Internet fair act statue or some kind of nonsense like that. That once again goes to show me that they are guilty of fraud. I will be pursuing filing a claim with the Arizona Department of insurance and taking this matter as far as possible in order not just to get my money Back but you make sure this is not done to any other for expecting Unexpecting customer in the future. I’ve also attached a document that clearly shows that the reason for not honoring the claim does not apply to me per this page in my contract. Their response on this website was that it appeared to be a pre-existing problem. This attachment clearly shows that they cannot deny my claim for that reason. Also in their response they make it look like I own the car for years. I barely purchased a car on May 25 of this year and have documents to prove so. I hope my response is legible and the Revdex.com can help me with my matter. Thank you.
Sincerely
The contract section quoted states the claim cannot be denied as preexisting if the service contract provider or vendor should have reasonably known of the condition. No one at CarShield or American Auto Shield could have known of this. It is clear this may have been present for some time and may have been preexisting. However, the denial is based on the fact that the power unit on the transmission has long term leaks from seals and gaskets. Seals and gaskets are not covered by this contract and are the cause of the failure to the power unit. Please reference the following sections of the vehicle service contract quoted below: B.10 regarding gasket and seals, Section D.2.p / F.1 as it relates to maintaining fluid levels.B.10. SEALS AND GASKETS: Seals and Gaskets are covered only in conjunction with the repair or replacement of the COVERED PARTS listed in 1 through 9 above. Leaking Seals and Gaskets (as “stand alone” repairs) are not covered by the CONTRACT.D.2.p RESULTING FROM OVERHEAT, ENGINE SLUDGE, CARBON, PRE-IGNITION, DETONATION, VARNISH, RUST, CORROSION, FOREIGN OBJECTS, DIRT, DUST, LIQUID, CRACKED RUBBER / NEOPRENE PARTS, DRY-ROT, ROAD CHEMICALS, ABUSE, ALTERATION, OR LACK OF PROPER AND NECESSARY AMOUNTS OF COOLANT, FUEL, FLUIDS OR LUBRICANTS;F.1 YOU shall protect the VEHICLE from further damage whether or not such MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN OR FAILURE is covered by YOUR CONTRACT. Any operation of the VEHICLE that results in further damage related to the original MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN OR FAILURE shall be considered negligence on YOUR part and any such further damage shall not be covered under this CONTRACT. YOU are responsible for making sure that all VEHICLE fluids are full and that the oil warning light/gauge and temperature warning light/gauge are functioning before driving the VEHICLE. YOU are required to safely pull YOUR VEHICLE off of the road and shut off the engine immediately when any of the lights/gauges indicate a problem.

I am rejecting this response because:
once again you are stating that it was because of long-term abuse or overheating that caused a crack. I spoke to the mechanic who did the repair of my car once again today and asked his opinion once again to confirm what he told me before. He remembered me and stated that he sees the crack as being caused by something that happened abruptly with the power transfer unit that malfunctioned from the inside and caused the crack. He said it is not from fluid and or a long-term situation. Once again the unit had fluid when I had it towed to the Lincoln dealer in Long Beach and the service manager there explained to me that they drained the fluid at that site. Whatever fluid residue that you see on the part was caused from the crack that occurred once the PTU fully malfunctioned and broke from the inside. I spoken to both mechanics and they have both agreed that if necessary they would be more than willing to sign a sworn affidavit for me. I would just like to be reimbursed For the cost of the repair and the three days of $50 that your company provides for lodging when more than 100 miles away from home during a repair. The repair was $1680 plus $150 for lodging which would be a total of $1830. Thank you.
Sincerely
This company has the worst customer service that I have experience in a long time. The dealership has been trying to call and remains on hold. I have been on hold for 3 hours. I hung up and called and selected a payment, and of course they answer right away. This company is the worst they will not pick up for claims... they dont want to respond to customers like they are scamming you to not pay the claim..... it is a endless hold. I wish I would have reviewed them under the better business before I set them up. I will for sure remind anybody on my social media page to not get this company for service. I rate them a zero but it is making me add a rating
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I spent 2 weeks with my vehicle in the shop on a lift with no one phone call from my extended warranty. After numerous attempts to get an answer on guy gave me the answers I was not looking for. For starters I had submitted my claim online because of the phone system being down. I waited a few days and called to see what was going on. A week later I called and so did my repair shop, and they left multiple voice mails to call back with an updated. I finally called again to find out that I owed a payment 1 1/2 weeks later and then the claim will be processed. The following Monday I call say the called claims to update the information and have my repair shop to call them to get ahold of someone to get the claim started. Now 2 weeks on Wednesday happens and I'm being told that there is no claim filed let alone my vehicle is up on the lift torn apart with no car and a toddler to tend to. Now after talking to someone that was nice he had told me someone will be able to help me get a rental. Thursday comes along we have a claim started but trying to get a rental not going to happen. The supervisor was very rude and adamant about how thw contract worked. I understand that too but seriously 2 weeks with not an answer and a toddler with no car is not right. After my car is fixed I will be making sure I will be canceling my contract because after this experience it was very rude and unacceptable. Never recommending them again

I have had Carshield since Nov 2019..
I had my radiator on my 2013 jeep Grand need replacing and the cooling system to the jeep ...I put in a claim for it and it was denied...
I had to pay 1600 dollars out of pocket
Also just recently My check engine light came on and the jeep kept stalling out..
So I took it to the jeep dealorship in my town to found out what is wrong.
They ran a diagnosis on it and its the ESIM and cansiter..
Also my headlight and taillights all quit working ..
The jeep stayed at the shop for 2 weeks awaiting for Carshield to get in contact with them over the claim.
Everyday I was calling in to find anyone to talk to..
No one had anwsers...
And then finally
Two weeks into this I get an email from Carshield saying my claim is denied due to nothing covered...
Again I had to pay out of pocket 1200 dollars....Carshield doesn't cover you when you need them most..
I called Carshield and they still didnt want to explain.
So I canceled my contract with them.

I have an active policy with CarShield. On 07/24/20 the transmission on my 2015 Suburban failed and the vehicle was towed to the nearest Chevrolet Dealer. I gave the dealership a copy of my contract so they could contact CarShield. They did not have a loaner car available. My CarShield contract supposedly covers car rental up to $40 a day. Chevy called Enterprise to bring me a rental car.
Chevrolet attempted to cal CarShield but was on hold for hours. CarShield requested copies of my service records which they sent. They requested that I call to give a statement as to what happened. I called and was put on hold so I left a message. 3hrs later they returned my call and I gave them my statement. On 07/27/20 I called Chevrolet to find out the status of my vehicle. They advised that CarShield was stating that my Suburban had not received the required Transmission services listed in the Chevrolet owner’s manual and my claim was under review. Chevrolet advised them verbally and in writing via email that the Transmission services listed only applies to “Severe Driving” like a can, police vehicle etc... and that service did not apply to my vehicle which is used with normal driving only. Chevrolet has never recommended when doing normal maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, etc... to me that a transmission service was due, needed or required.
My Chevrolet dealership has made numerous calls and to this date (08/04/20) spent over 7.5hrs on hold on the phone.
AutoShield continues to run numerous 2 minute commercials on television. On 08/03/20 I called the sales number advertised on TV and the phone was answered on the 2nd ring. I was reluctantly connected with Customer Service. The customer service person checked my file and told me that my claim was still under review by the claims Office.
Eleven days after submitting my claim with my car in the shop, my claim was still under review!
Today (08/04/20) I returned the rental car because my bill was now over $485. The Chevrolet Dealership still has not had their calls or emails returned.
On 08/03/20 at 8:00am I called CarShield and left a msg in their system that said my call was placed in the cue and would be returned when my turn came up. It is 08/04/20 at 10:44pm and my call still has not been returned.

I am rejecting this response because: You’re slow response has caused me to have a $485 rental car bill for 11 days and service hasn’t even started on my vehicle. I had to return the rental because according to my contract you only cover 4 days. The adjuster is asking for records that according to Chevrolet doesn’t even apply to my vehicle. 14 days, 2 weeks is BEYOND A REASONABLE time to review a claim.
Sincerely
Thanks for reaching out to us again.
Once your records have been reviewed and a determination has been made, you can provide your rental receipt for to see if you are eligible for further reimbursement due to the extended repair time. You can send the receipt directly to the claims department oryou can email to us at *** and we will happily forward it to the proper person for review.

I purchased an extended warranty from this company and called to ask about my coverage, I was told by the representative that I would be covered on claims on a certain date, I made a claim on that date and was told sorry, you were missed informed, then after disputing it they asked for my maintenance records, then wanted to know about transmission fluid changes. This company kept digging and digging for reasons to deny my claim. I have paid them for a policy they never intended on honoring and I also had to pay for 100% of my vehicle repairs.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I purchased a auto warranty from CarShield on 07/02/2020. One week later I found another warranty that better suited my needs so I notified Carshield in writing on 07/08/2020 that I had decided to terminate our contract and to refund my money as stated in the CarShield contract that you are entitled to a full refund within the first 30 days of the contract if for any reason you decide to terminate the contract. After 16 days with no refund returned to my purchasing card, I then called CarShield Customer Service on 07/24/2020 and was told that I would have my refund of $99.99 within 2 to 3 days. After another week later and still no refund I called CarShield customer service 3 times on 07/31/2020 and was disconnected all 3 times when being transferred to another customer service after telling the first answering customer service rep that I was calling to see why I had not received my refund when promised. I then called again a 4th time and was told again that I would receive my $99.99 refund within 2 to 3 days.As of today 08/05/2020 I have still not received a refund as promised by CarShield and stated in the contract provided by CarShield and stated in their advertisements. This has been way to difficult for a simple refund and confirms my decision do go with another warranty company because due to my difficulties with a refund I am questioning if I would have the same issue should I request they pay for a covered service for a repair.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Warranty company did not follow through with contract. I have a problem with vehicle that the contract covers. Warranty company refuses to pay for and is in breach of contract. BMW (repair shop) sent paperwork and pictures in explaining that the differential was cracked due to problem that the warranty covers. CarShield will not answer nor return call to dealer ship and has denied claim. Although contract states that issues with *** and differential is covered. Company states the part differential is due to lack of maintenance however mechanic states that is not the issue CarShield has reports From 2 years back of car history maintenance.

I have a contract with Carshield to pay for work done to my car. *** repaired my air conditioner. Brian the sales agent in service tried numerous times to contact them through email and phone to no avail. I tried on numerous occasions without success. I would call and be put on hold for well over an hour at a time. When I finally did get an answer they would always transfer me to AutoSheild and I would go back to being on hold.
This happened about 7 times. The last time I explained that wanted the problem resolved without being transferred and was hung up on.
I paid 899 that I really could not afford and put my account in overdraft. I want my money that Carshield was supposed to pay refunded.

On 7/16/2020 I bought the diamond coverage along with some additional options. I verified several times throughout our lengthy conversation that my Audi would be covered for 6 years/100,000 miles after my manufacturers warranty had expired. I roughly have about 14 months/12,000 miles left on the warranty. She assured me that would be the case. At the end of the conversation, I asked how they would know when the manufacturers warranty had expired and theirs would kick in. She responded good question, we have your vehicles mileage and year so we will know.
When I was looking over the plan information I noticed that it says 6 years from the date I bought it and up to 101,000 miles. This is not what the agent told me or what I agreed to purchase.

I am rejecting this response because:
The business just cancelled my service plan. I wasn’t looking to cancel, I was just requesting they honor what sales person told me the coverage would be. I could have just cancelled the plan on my own and received all the money back since I was with in 30 days.
Sincerely
Thanks for reaching out again.

I bought a used Car with around 100K miles. I received a letter from Car Shield offering an extended Warranty. I revised the deal I thought was a good deal and I accepted. For $120.54 a month they will cover my Engine and transmission problems. That was in July 2019. In June 16,2020 I took my car to a local shop, because a rattle noise in the engine. They identify the root cause and I submitted the claim to Car Shield. Car shield notify me that my car cant be covered because it was a Salvage title. I responded back that I bought the car with a rebuilt title. They said Salvage and rebuilt is the same. I respond that I want my money back, because they offer an insurance without verify that my car was rebuilt title. They decide to refund only 3 months, not the full amount of what I paid for 12 months. I think this is unfair, now I paid the shop for the diagnostic and I don't have the money to repair my car. Please I need orientation on this. I'm wondering how many other customers they do the same thing. Imagine if I paid 5 years for this insurance and them I found this situation.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We have reviewed the notes on your account and see that you vehicle has a branded title. Your vehicle is excluded from coverage per the contract terms.

I bought this car in may and ended up buying this contract and within two months my transfer case went out and I filed a claim. After 3 WEEKS, they finally was able to start the claim and get an inspector out. The next day the inspector emailed me saying, “we are denying your claim because the maintenance wasn’t kept up and there was sludge and low fluids. I then told him that I just bought the car and didn’t need any maintenance. *** had told me the car was in perfect condition and all was good. So he then proceeded to say that there was no exceptions. Had I known that I was gonna suffer because someone who previously owned the car didn’t maintain it well enough for their expectations, I wouldn’t have wasted my money or time in CarShield. I just want my money back at this point. They severely disappointed me and now I have to pay 2200 for a new transfer case.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have reviewed the notes from the claims department and see your claim could not be authorized due to lack of fluids and a large amount of sludge in the transfer case. As noted in Section D, Exclusions, of your contract, mechanical breakdowns due to lack of fluids is excluded from coverage.
CarShield will refund you in full as a gesture of goodwill. You will receive one payment back to the VISA *** and the remainder will be sent via check within 7-10 business days. This will cancel your account.
