My mustang has been in the Ford shop since JUNE 9th with a blown engine. My CarShield claims adjuster misinformed me on the amount they would pay for Ford to repair my vehicle. The claims adjuster specifically told me that “If they pay for the engine, not Ford, then I would not have to pay anything but my $100 deductible as long as Ford’s repair bill doesn’t exceed $6,508.50.”
I told him that Ford said the estimate for repairs was at $4900. The claims adjuster said “That’s fine then ... As long as it stays under $6508.50 we will cover it.”
So Ford completed my repairs, and the bill is $5,500. CarShield paid only $2300 and stiffed me with the remaining balance of $3200. Then when I called and finally spoke with someone after a 2 hour wait, I was told that the $6508.50 was the total amount they would cover, and that included the amount for the engine they purchased, which was $4300. I explained that I was VERY clear with what I was told, and if they listened to my call to them on July 7th that the Claims Adjuster made it sound like the $6508.50 did NOT include the price for the engine. I specifically asked him how much can FORD’s repair bill be once they receive the engine, and he said as long as it’s under $6508.50 you’ll be fine. Now I’m stuck with this bill and Ford will not give me my car until it’s paid in full. Since Monday, when CarShield sent the $2300 payment, I’ve spent hours waiting to speak with several reps and two supervisors, and no one would empathize with my situation. It’s not my fault the Claims Adjuster explained everything WRONG when I was clear in my statements. If I had known the $6508.50 included the price of the engine, thus leaving me with $2,208.50 for Ford’s repairs, then I never would have placed the order. I had just said that Ford’s estimate was $4900, so WHY would I agree to the order knowing I already can’t pay the difference before Ford even starts the work on it? Then, the last supervisor I spoke to today, told me that the amount they’re not willing to pay is due to the 22 hours of labor. My contract only covers 14 hours ... So I have a $3000 debt because they don’t want to cover 8 more hours of labor?! What kind of crap is that? Dealing with them has been a NIGHTMARE! I shouldn’t have this bill just because the Claims Adjuster lied to me! Ford gave me a loaner car and now I have to return it today ... And walk away WITHOUT my car until I can come up with $3000. This is NOT fair!! I will lose my job because it costs too much for me to Uber back and forth to work!
Car Shield is a rip-off. They were supposed to cover the cost of my cooling systems to be repaired. They only paid for the water pump and 1.5 hrs of a 4 hrs labor job. They didn't pay for other parts needed to fix the cooling system. They said that they will pay $40 for a car rental per day. They didn't. I would like to warn people NOT to buy Car Shield. They do NOT want to pay for repairs.
I dropped my car off 2 weeks ago mechanic fixed it same day - car shield said they had a computer glitch and could not probably process claim I lost 2 weeks of pay and was being charged storage fees for my car sitting there -customer service told me was my problem were very rude would not cover a rent a car or assistance me in any way after 2 weeks told me I owe over $2000!!!I emailed the owner multiple times with no response -this insurance is a total rip off and the owner should be locked up for running bing a fruadual company stay away from car shield it's a scam!!!!

I took my car in for work to be done on the timing change. I provided Carshield with the information they needed three times, once with email and they have claimed all three times they they haven't received it. The car repair is $800 and my car has been in the shop for two months. I have had a contract with them since May, 2020. I have had the contract for more than 30 days which is required by them.

People Car Shield is a scam! I have a grand caravan with 112000 miles. Since getting car shield I have paid more than $4000 in car repairs. CarShield claims that these were all preexisting conditions. I have found that they don’t pay for almost anything that could go wrong with a car of its age and therefore find the coverage just about useless. I am canceling today on two cars that I had enrolled because I find the coverage useless.
After over one year of being under contract with Car Shield we filed our first (and only) case. We were told there was nothing they could do to help us. With over 2800 dollars worth of work to be performed we were told ‘there’s nothing we can do for you’. Seems they were looking at reasons to deny coverage. Must admit, however, there commercials look good and have great sound bites. We decided that we can bank 1200/1500 dollars annually and take our chances. Wish all of you policy holders well.
Trying to speak with someone without success. My mechanic and I left messages several times and no one never answers back. This company is a Huge Scam.
A third party company through CarShield explained that my breakdown date was before my policy began, which is not correct. When I broke down I called a tow through my insurance (07/29/2020) , and the day after I towed the vehicle to the shop.
CarShield is here to address your concerns.
We see in the notes on your account that you have spoken with your service contract administrator and they have asked you to provide documentation as to the date your vehicle was towed to your repair facility. Please send the requested records at your earliest convenience to move the claim forward.

We had called them because we needed our truck fixed. It has been with our mechanic for 2 weeks. They are saying my mechanic need to call them to tell them what they need. He has called them twice. They said they would call him back and they never did. I tried calling and they kept me on hold for 2 hours. They finally gave me a number to an adjuster. They had my mechanic call the adjuster. My mechanic called and they put him on hold. They have never called him back. We have been trying to get this taken care of and they do not respond.

we are working to reach out to all claimants who were affected during the
previous week. We realize these issues are not acceptable and certainly

On June 29th I signed up for a contract on our two vehicles. During my sales call, I was told I could cancel within 30 days by simply contacting your company. I did so by email withing a week, and today was made aware that I could only cancel by calling, and that neither my first month's payments nor my second month's payments that went through a week ago will be reversed. I had major engine failure before the cool-down period and therefore can't afford your policy. It is sickening to me that you could care less to resolve that matter by simply stating that you should only be contacted by phone and not email.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have reviewed the notes on your account. As stated in the terms of your contract, all cancellation must be cancelled within 30 days of the purchase of your contract.
However, as a gesture of goodwill, CarShield will refund your payments in full. You will receive one payment back to the VISA *** for each contract and the remainder will be sent via check within 7-10 business days. This will cancel both your contracts with CarShield.

We have contacted your service contract administrator, American Auto Shield, to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Their notes indicate a claims representative spoke to you on Tuesday, August 4th regarding the status of your claim. During that call, the claims representative explained that although fuel delivery lines are covered components of your contract terms, the lines were found to have rust on them which excludes them from coverage as noted in Section D, exclusions, of your contract. Your claim was therefore denied due to the rust on the fuel delivery lines.
CarShield as the marketer of your vehicle service contract has no authority over repair claims, procedures, approvals or denials. Any further questions or disputes should directed to American Auto Shield *** or you can see Section M, Dispute Resolutions, of your contract for information on how to dispute a claim.

Bought an extended car warranty with car Shield approx June 2019 for my 2003 Land Rover Range Rover with approximately 198k miles. My warranty was only for the power train of the Vehicle and For $100.00 per month, I decided to get the warranty after watching many Advertisements and the recommendation from celebrities that Car Shield would take care of you and your vehicle if it breaks down! I had just invested over 3k in making some repairs and thought before I have any engine or transmission problem a warranty sounded like a good idea and I choose to go with Car Shield. Because I had just spent alot of money on repairs I bought another vehicle and the range Rover was used very sparingly and during this period of time I had a hip replacement and couldn't drive for a period of time. Around April 2020 I drove my Range to the store and my engine lite came on and made appointment with my range repair *** who told me I had some Valve issues and would need a new engine. I REACHED out to Car Shields and within a week or so they sent a rep out to check out my claimed, my repairs guys indicated that car shield rep noted the low miles used and that my engine oil stick was dry! Told Car Shield that before I had bought the warranty I just had a oil change and the reason why I bought it in was caused by the engine lite coming on and that because the car was so rarely used I didn't see the need to check the oil. At this time my car at range rover shared with me how difficult these warranty companies are and in their experience have found any reason not to pay on a claim! They also said the adjuster was negative about my vehicle and and complained to the adjuster that he was speaking untruth about the problems with my vehicle. I express to my guys that I had spoken to customer service and to the rep going over my case and That xar shields position was to leaned Favorable in case and not just say no! They requested a wet test and another test of the mechanics of the engine which cost me additional funds and time, in all this process took almost 3 months to resolved. As predicted by my range repair company my claims was denied cause of lack of maintenance cause by a dry oil stick. *** told me that my 2003 Range Rover was designed with some flaws in its power train design and the test that was requested indicated that engine failure was due to
Amount of miles on the engine and for me I paid over 1200 for the warranty for only the power train and I was denied after Car Shield accepted my vehicle, warrantied it and collected premiums on it for over a year and when I had a issue ask me to invest on additional review of my vehicle and pay for replacement if a engine that I warrantied and paid on time to have!! Please help me show this horrible company that they cannot spend millions on advertising, accept your xar into its family and then deny them because they said it was very little oil on the stick. To add insult to this I'm a retired Marine and a Police Officer iin DC on the front lines in War and know with the roots and Pandemic for this company to treat me this way is a tremendous insults!! I could never recommend the them and I get furious everything I see their marketing based on the way they have treated me!! Thank you for your assistance in this matter

I bought my warranty with Car Shield, my check went to Car Shields and customer service conversation were with Car shield. If this other company is whom we should response also is fine but for Xar Shield to market that they will insure/warranty car then I don't understand them deleting themselves from the process if someone complains or put a lawsuit against car Shield!! Please contact American Auto shield and put them in it if Car Shield insist.

CarShield is no way deleting themselves from your complaint or issues with your repair claim. We do apologize for any confusion.
I cancelled my policy two weeks ago after only having it for a week and I am still waiting for my refund... the lady was very rude on the phone when I asked for my refund.. told me I had to wait a month and some extra things.. why do I have to jump thru hoops just to get my money?
Was led to believe the contract would cover much more than it would, had to pay out of pocket $479.54 for repairs. Tried to contact to get a refund for the payment taken a day or so before, which could have been for the month coming. Was told it was for the month past, and that the first payment I made was a down payment. (Sign on agent said it was for the first month). Asked for a supervisor after the agent offered, agent said she could not transfer but that a supervisor would be in touch in 5-10 minutes. Over 24 hours, no call back. So apparently I can't cancel my account or get refunded for an unusable policy or even the month I won't be using due to wanting to cancel.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We have contacted our claims department to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. I recently purchased a warranty for my 2008 Acura from Carshield a few months ago. I brought my car to the Acura dealership for repair on July 16. A claim inspector was supposed to go inspect the car for repair approval on July 20th. It's now August 1st, my car is still sitting at the dealership and neither I nor the dealership could get a claim agent from Carshield to inspect the repair and give the dealership the approval needed. For over 2 weeks, myself and the dealership have been calling Carshield regarding this matter. Every time, a Carshield agent tells me they will have a claim agent call to give the ok for the repair. Still nothing.

I am rejecting this response because:
Carshield only made 1 attempt to reach out to the dealership. They left them a message with no contact information and the dealership is unable to return their call. When I try to call Carshield claim dept again and again, their hold time is basically 5 or more hours wait time just to talk to a claim specialist which in term will give you the runaround. But yesterday an agent from Carshield had the nerve to call me saying that my monthly membership payment is past due when my car have been sitting at the dealership for now a month awaiting for them to give the ok to get my car fix. How ironic is that. At this point, to me Carshield is just a scam that pray on people's hard earned money with promises about services they never intended to deliver. This is totally unacceptable for a so-called company that spend millions on ads with the purpose of scamming people. That should never be allowed. If my car is no fix by the weekend, I want a refund for all the month that I paid for this scam with my hard earned money. If I have to take legal action against them, then that's what I will do. I'm pretty sure Carshield will respond back with the standard company line that someone is looking into my claim which means nothing to me. The evidence is from their previous response because my car is still at the dealership and still can't get a claim agent to approve the repair.
Sincerely
Thanks for reaching out again.
We have reviewed the notes on your account and see a claims specialist tried to reach your repair facility multiple times. On August 1st, the claims department spoke with *** at your repair facility. At that time *** was going to separate the parts covered on the invoice from the parts that were not covered. Our claims specialist told *** they would return the call in an hour. I purchased an extended warranty with Carshield (Gold Protection Plan) in March of 2019. I filed a claim for a damaged front drive axle. My car was at the BMW dealership, the service advisor called in the claim and an adjuster came out to look at the problem. The adjuster told the service adviser that the claim I filed was not covered. The adjuster also called me and told me the same. BMW is charging around $7500. That is too much for me to pay out of pocket that is why I took an extended warranty policy. I pulled out my car our of dealership and brought it to local mechanic. He fixed my car for $1230.31. That is a big difference in price. I called Carshield and explained my problem and the person I spoke to said it should be covered. She gave me a number to call for claims. My mechanic called the number and they said “It has been decided, It’s not covered”. I spoke to Luis today and he said that there is no refund option for me. I paid $125 a month beginning March of 2019 to March of 2020. I want a refund of all payment I made because they did not cover my claim that is included in the contract.
Than you for bringing this to our attention.
We have contacted the claims department to obtain information on the repair claim #97994 you have referenced. Their notes indicate your vehicle needed CV axles and a differential mount. The mount is a part not listed for coverage and the CV boots were torn and resulted in failure of the joints. There was also a leaking oil filter gasket and suspension thrust arm bushing that was cracked unfortunately those are not listed for coverage either.
CarShield will refund your payments as a gesture of goodwill and in good faith to resolve this matter. You will recieve one payment back to the initial form of payment and the remainder will be sent via check within 7-10 business days.

My issue is with CarShield...and the false car warranty services advertising practices they use to secure customers!
I acted on the Commercial (with Actors *** & ***r), talking about having your vehicles on a auto service agreement! Well, I live in California, and it states (in tiny letters at the bottom on their TV vommercial ads that California residents are not eligible for these programs! But I was still enrolled in a Roadside Plan..and charged $29.99 since January 2020 via my debit card! Based on their false advertising, and that I'm not eligible to take advantage of their auto service agreement..
I would like to be refunded ALL my money back!!! I've reached out to them regarding this matter, asked them to cancel my application (but they still debited my account $29.99 last month! All I'm asking is for a total refund for their deceptive practices!!!

Now it's almost the end on the August and still NO word as of today)!!!But maybe, they really never intended to refund anything! It was just a ploy to get me & the Revdex.com off their backs! That could also be the reason, they are soo many complaints against their company, now! This is really unethical, unnecessary & very unprofessional for CarShield 's image, in trying to attract future customers! Also, I wonder if the actors, entertainers (who advertise & promote CarShield's services), know this company has soo many complaints against it? Or, are they all involved in the misrepresentation of services, too!
Sincerely
Your refund of $29.99 was processed on August 24th, 2020. Refunds usually take 3-5 business days so the refund should hit your account no later than tomorrow. Please respond to this complaint if you do not receive the refund by then.

I still have not received either the check in the mail or the credit to my account.
Sincerely
This company (CarShield), is full of it!$29.99 is for one month (when I paid for "6" additional months starting in January to July)!Plus, that is what was agreed upon in the previous email from CarShield that they would return $29.99 that was deducted from my account in July, after I contacted them in early July to stop debiting my account, due to the fact I lived in California & wasn't eligible for their services! (Which was shown at the bottom of their tv advertising in a tiny font type! However the sales rep never mentioned this to me after I gave him my address, instead he sold me a phony Roadside Plan Program. I called them excluisvely for the Warranty Service agreement....but I wasn't eligible for that program either since I reside in California)!!!All false advertising to accumulate customers!!!
CarShield would like to apologize for the delay in getting you the refund you were promised. The request for your refund was processed on August 26th and the check was cut on September 2nd, 2020. You should be receiving the check today or tomorrow.
Please email [email protected] if you do not receive the check so we can contact the company that issues refunds and track the check. Again we do apologize for the delay.

I am *** and I purchased extended warranty on May 8th, 2020 From Car Shield/Auto Shield on a 2000 Cadillac Seville STS that I purchased on November 1, 2019. The vehicle had approximately 66,000 miles on it and I purchased the extended warranty from Car Shield/American Auto Shield *** through their vendor Car Shield *** on May 08, 2020 when the mileage was 70,723.
My two young daughters and I took a trip to see my mother in Blytheville, AR about 470 miles away and before I reached there, my car alerted me of low oil pressure and to shut the car off in which I did on a dark road. I checked the oil level and it was empty. Luckily I had oil in my trunk from my last oil change and I added oil to continue our trip.
I called Car Shield/American Auto Claims to report the issue and took the car to *** on July 8th, 2020 (Mileage was 72,572 miles) and got a rental vehicle because on the contract it states that I would be reimbursed. After waiting 15 days for Car Shield/American Auto Shield to honor their policy/contract and fix my car, I went to get my car back and had to pay *** $220 to pick up my car for the diagnosis that was performed as well as all the time it took dealing with Car Shield/Auto Shield Claims Department.
When I called Auto Shield on July 24th and waited 2 and half hour to speak to someone who only took information from me and said that I would get a call back in which I never did till this day.
I would like for Car Shield/Auto Shield to honor their contract and fix my vehicle and I would like to be reimbursed for my rental and diagnostics fee that the service center gave me in their frustration of dealing with Car Shield/Auto Shield.

Our systems are now fully operational and we are working to reach out to all claimants who were affected during the previous week. We realize these issues are not acceptable and certainly do not reflect our commitment to provide the highest levels of service. We apologize your inconvenience and look forward to providing excellent service in the future. We have escalated this with leadership in the Claims Department and see they have requested additional records. I joined Car Shield in Feb.2020 and my engine light went on about 2 weeks ago. The CarX mgr said it is an Oxygen Sensor needing to be replaced and we have both been calling Car Shield for over a week to get an authorization to replace it. I can not get anyone to return my calls and neither has the CarX mgr. They will only answer if I am a new customer and then I got to talk to a live person who told me I have to contact American Auto Shield to get approval for the repair. Well they claim they have had a phone power outage for the past week and no further communication from them. They never returned any of my phone calls!! Can you help me ?? I also would like to file a Class Action law suit against them if this continues. I have to get this sensor replaced in order to get my car emission tested for my new license sticker due by the end of August.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Our claims department experienced intermittent phone and internet issues last week and were unable to start new claims. Your repair facility will to contact *** to start the claim process. You can also start a claim online by going to www.americanautoshield.com then clicking on claims and entering the claim information. A claims adjuster will then reach out to your repair facility to obtain information on the claim and get it moving forward.
We appreciate your continued patience and thank you for your business.

He has tried numerous times to file a claim but only gets a recorded message at all the phone numbers we both have for contacting them !!!!I don't think they give a hoot if we file a claim or not. How do I start a Class Action law suit against them.
