I started the contract with carshield on march and they charged me for 4 months including the starting fee. When I want to fix my car they said the mileage doesn't match with the contract...I gave them the history of the last year oil changes but still did not fix it...they just canceled my contract and refund me for one month. I have the car in the mechanic for over a month and I have to pay to the mechanic $200. Because they did not cover....I want all my money back if they are not covering they why keeping my money and they should pay the mechanic too...
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have reviewed the notes in your file. We see that your contract was cancelled due to a mileage discrepancy at the time of purchase of the contract.
CarShield will refund your remaining payments in full to resolve this complaint. You will receive a check for the remainder within 7-10 business days.
We are sorry to lose you as a CarShield customer.

Carshield towed my car, 2004 VW Jette to the VW dealer on June 26 for repairs. It has been there since. I called recently and was told my claim was declined because I did not meet time frame. On the policy the time frame was 20 days and 500 miles. It was well over that on both of them. I told them that. They said they would look into it and get back to me within 3 days. I have never heard anything. I called again and they said they needed a diagnostic. I have been working with Josh at the dealership ***. I had him fax it. We waited two or three days and called back. They said he sent it to the wrong fax number. I gave him another fax number and he did it again. I didn't hear anything so I called again. Now they are saying the previous owner said the owner bought some tires from *** and they needed the receipt. I told them I bought the tires. They said they needed my receipt. I told them where I got them. They said they would call ***. They never called. When they did call them they gave him a number to fax the receipt to. I gave it a couple days and I called and they said they did not get it. I had *** on the line when I called and Carshield asked what number he faxed it to and it was confirmed to be the right number. They are saying they didn't get it. Now they are saying they gave him the wrong number so he sent to another number. When they finally did get it, they said they would rectify the problem. They haven't done anything since. I keep calling and they just keep saying they are waiting on the dealer. The dealer hasn't heard anything from Carshield. Claim #

purchased her service contract on June 3, 2020. *** has had a claim submitted for a cracked PCV pipe and hose and torn CV boots. These items are not listed as covered under her service contract terms. *** also had a leaking water pump. Parts and labor for the water pump have been authorized and her timing belt was provided in good will. This authorization was submitted to her repair facility as of July 30,2020. *** has also had $105.00 paid in tow fees as of June 26, 2020.The components listed as covered in her service contract terms have been authorized and towing has been paid.We respectfully request this complaint be closed as resolved.Thank you
I was told on April 22, 2020 that I had the Diamond coverage policy. I wrote down notes as the car shield representative was stating what the policy covered. She told me that with this Diamond Coverage it would cover engine, transmission, A/C, Computer, Navigation and much more. She also stated that all I do is show the car shield app to the ASE certified mechanic and pay the $100 deductible, and American Auto shield would pay the rest. 3 months have gone by, and now we took our car to be fixed and Car Shield is stating that I do not have the coverage I thought I had. American Auto Shield says I have the Aluminum package. I told the rep I have Diamond package. I have secured a Lawyer because this is deceptive consumer practices. I am so glad I kept detailed notes of the call. Now my car has been in the shop for over a week waiting for repairs. Plus, the attorney can subpoena the recorded call on April 22, 2020. This is terrible business practices.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have reviewed the sales call on April 22, 2020. Our sales associate did offer the diamond package at the beginning of the call but after entering the VIN# for the BMX M4 the only coverage available was the aluminum coverage. Our sales representative explained the change to you during the call and specifically said "the does not cover the power train." You did agree to the change in the plan during the call.
CarShield will refund your payments in full as a gesture of goodwill and in good faith to resolve this matter. You can expect one payment back to the VISA *** and the remainder will be sent via check within 7-10 business days. This will cancel your contract.
We do apologize for any confusion and are sorry to lose you as a CarShield customer.

I have a CarShield auto service contract #*** on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep broke down and was towed to OBX Jeep *** in Kill *** NC on June 22, 2020 as instructed by Carshield. Carshield sent their claims person to the dealership twice who instructed them to disassemble the engine to diagnose the problem. The car has been at the dealership since with the disassembled engine and no response from Carshield to continue with the repair since. I have called and left messages many times and received call backs on a couple of occasions all indicating the repair would be processed and it was not. The repair center also has called and tried to resolve the issue with no success. They have blamed the delays on Covid, not receiving towing receipt(which one operator looked up and said it was not entered by them correctly) and the repair center not leaving proper callback information. All not true. At this time the Jeep repair center was forced to push my garage kept Jeep out into their parking lot with a disassembled engine in the salt air waiting for Carshield to contact them.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

I am rejecting this response because:
The repair center finally reached the company only to be told they are reviewing the towing receipt that I originally sent them on July 3rd and then forwarded to a different address today. Towing was not even required for the Jeep. I just did it as an extra precaution. They have been delaying this repair for over 3 weeks and my Jeep is now being left outside with the engine disassembled per their requests in the salty humid environment of the Outer Banks. They are more than likely causing more damage to the Jeep than was originally found by these delays.

They have had the information for 2 weeks now and there are no other Jeep service centers in the area. As it is, this dealership is over an hour from my house. When I signed up for their service none of their commercials lets you know you will be without your vehicle for over a month before even a repair determination will be approved. I need to buy another vehicle thanks to all of their delays and the condition of my current vehicle is suffering due to their improper storage of the now disassembled motor in a salty humid environment. This is just another stall tactic. Just read their other Revdex.com reviews.
Sincerely
You closed my case based on CarShield's claim that they were reviewing my case and would call me back that or the next day. They have not called me or the repair center about my claim #1018774 on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is going on 5 weeks that I have been without my Jeep with no resolution in sight.

I am rejecting this response because you are indicating I was responsible for part of the damage to the vehicle. The Jeep service manager indicated he already told your inverstigators that the vehicle was dropped off with NO codes indicating the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The vehicle never indicated it was unsafe to drive. With NO indication the vehicle should not be driven why are you basing your partial payment on me having caused part of the problem? You have NO basis for this. The jeep service manager is willing to provide this information in writing if necessary and can be reached directly at the service center working on the vehicle.
Sincerely
CarShield would be willing to refund your payments as a goodwill gesture and in good faith to resolve this issue. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like to proceed with the cancellation of your contract and refund.

I am rejecting this response because:
The offer you are now making is even less than the original offer that was about 1/3 of the estimate you received from OBX Jeep. I paid my premiums on time thinking I was covered from possible future hi cost repairs and now that I have actually had a claim you are doing your utmost to back out of the contract. Your non stop TV commercials make no mention that you will tie up your customer's car for over 5 weeks after having it disassembled making it totally undriveable and then make up a cause for the damage that is being refuted by both the Jeep trained mechanic and the service manager. I want my Jeep back fully repaired for the $100. deductible we contracted for. Your offer shows no good faith.
Sincerely
Although they indicated to you that they would work with me on this, they have not returned emails or calls to me or my service provider. Additionally, in calling the OBLIGOR indicated on my contract, ***, at *** twice I was told they have nothing to do with Carshield. It looks like CarShield of St Peters, MO selling contracts administrated by American Auto Shield of Lakewood, CO and with the obligor ***, and collecting payments by *** is just a scam with no intentions of paying on many of their claims despite being provided iron clad proof that they are responsible. Please help me get my Jeep repaired and back to me. It has been at the service center over 6 weeks. Sincerely
Upon further review by the Claims Director at the Administrator, American Auto Shield, it was determined that the claim was not fully authorized. An updated authorization has been provided to the repair facility to include components that were not initially authorized.

I have had a extended warranty with this company for over 3 years, in total I have paid them $7920.00. I recently filed a claim for a vehicle repair and all I got out of them was a runaround, and excuses to why they can not cover the repair.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have reviewed the notes in your file and see you had a contract for a 1999 Lincoln Navigator for 14 months. You then transferred that policy to a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser in April of 2020 and have made 3 payments on that contract. On June 23, 2020 you started a claim on the PT Cruiser. Your repair facility determined that cause of failure in your vehicle was a head gasket that had blown due to overheating. As stated in your service contract terms, a head gasket is not a part listed for coverage.
CarShield is willing to refund your 3 payments made for coverage on the PT Cruiser. This would cancel your contract. Please let us know if you would like us to proceed with the refund and cancellation. You can email us *** or respond to this complaint.

I had car shield coverage for over a year. In May 2020 I had to use it due to the motor in window needed replacement. As my contract stated I took my vehicle to mechanic of my choice. The mechanic said he had difficulty getting ahold of car shield. He said he was put on hold for over 40 minutes. He said he could go ahead and fix my car and I could file a claim the next day. I paid 377.00 to fix it. After my deductible I was expecting 277.00 refund. I finally got my check 2 months later and it was for 125.00. I contacted car shield and was told the mechanic over charged me. I after that called the mechanic and he said that car shield wanted them to use used parts that they could not guarantee. This is a horrible scam. I had to take the raw end. I had to use money I don't have thinking I was safe with carshield. It is a scam.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

I started a policy with this company back in April. I have been paying my bill for this policy every month. I keep getting letters from this company 6 different times saying that they are not receiving payment and threatening to cancel my warranty coverage. I had to switch my card payment information in June and they even confirmed to me then that they had the correct payment information. I have spoke to representatives on the phone who have told me this stuff is a mistake, but even after speaking to them I still receive these letters. It even happened again yesterday. I have spoke to my bank, they have confirmed to me that CarShield has taken these payments out of my account on the 3rd every month. My bank has offered to send me verification of this. These letters are harassing and threatening. There is no need for this. I want them to stop sending me these letters, I feel they are just trying to get additional payments out of me. I have the diamond coverage with them.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have contacted our billing department and you will no longer be receiving letters regarding a late payment. If there is a late payment, they will contact you by telephone only. CarShield recognizes you have paid on time, every month, and appreciate you being a loyal CarShield customer.

I purchased a plan with car shield and was totally duped. They misrepresented what type of coverage I bought and refused to cover my truck when it went in the shop. The dealership and I attempted to contact car shield numerous times. Many times were on hold (over an hour) so long the line just hung up. They found a loop hole not to cover it. I paid $1300.00 out of pocket. Then had the audacity to call and wonder why I didn't pay my next bill. After I cancelled them, they Offered me a discounted price, I told them I wasn't interested. THEN they hit my account afterwards anyway. They did finally send me my cancellation confirmation, but I had to have MY BANK reverse the charges and block them. They never offered to send my money back after I informed them if their mistake. Straight crooks!

I have a contract with Carshield. My car overheated and I had to have it towed home. I called Carshield and they told me to take it to an ASE certified shop which I did. They did say they would cover the water pump. The mechanic said that there might be additional damage because of the damage due to the water pump. Carshield said they would send another adjuster out which they did about two weeks ago. From that point they have gone silent. I think my car has been at the shop for two months. Between me and the assistant at the shop we have called every day and have been on hold for hours on end. Carshield would not pay for the oil change and filter, or for the diagnostic. I owe the shop about $350. I have paid for the warranty for about 6 months, paying $79.00 per month.

I still have not heard from Car Shield today is the 17th no word. I did speak to the shop secretary *** she spoke with them 2 days ago and the rep said they needed to send out a adjuster and *** explained to that he had already been out and that he agrees with the shop that it is an engine issue and he would make a recommendation that it be fixed or replaced. Then the guy start rambling on that the shop never sent them the reports asked for and *** corrected him because he was reading directly same terms and verbiage that she typed in the report the guy took a long pause and finally admitted indeed he did have the necessary paperwork and that someone would be contacting her. Its been two and no more contact with the shop I went by there today to see if she has heard anything and the answer was no. Not sure how to proceed.
Thank you for reaching out to us again.

The shop has forwarded this report twice already. The inspector has been out and agree with the shop the situation is way pass crazy. I am here at the shop watching Keisha fax it again. Something need to happen soon. The shop is being told that you are waiting for the inspector who is this mysterious person where is his recommendation to fix my car. Getting really frustrated. Fix my car now.
I have spoken to the shop and they have sent paperwork to Carshield three times and they (Carshield) keep saying they don't have the paperwork. Also I have not spoken to anyone from Carshield; they have never contacted me as they promised.
I paid $650 for several months of warranty payments. I had a repair for axles. I had to pay for the entire amount, $1600. They then dropped me and then reimbursed me for only one month, $129.00.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

I have a auto warranty contract with Carshield (contract# ***) and I needed work done on my car which was explained to me that it would be covered when I bought the coverage but was denied The repair cost $875 and was related to the transmission ( the car stuck in neutral and couldn't be moved). They refused the claim and I called three times and they told me to file with the Revdex.com for arbitration. The last time I called I was put on hold for over an hour until the line went dead. I wanted to know the exact procedure to appeal their decision.
