CarShield is here to address your concerns.

We have contacted the claims department to obtain information on the repair claims you have referenced. In review of their notes, both vehicles were still in the waiting period when they were brought to the repair facility. As stated in your contracts all vehicles have a 20 day/ 500 mile waiting period since CarShield does not require an initial inspection. We do see that you were given information about our parts sourcing program but the claims department never heard back from you.

We see your accounts were cancelled at your request on April 20, 2020. CarShield will refund your payments in full to resolve this matter. You can expect one payment for each contract back to the original form of payment and the remainder will be mailed within 7-10 business days.

They are a fraud, they mislead people with their tv adverts. They couldn't even provide me with the roadside assistance that is supposed to be covered. For 3 days my dealers were made to go back and forth, made to hold on the phone for up to 1 and half hrs. I was outraged. Please don't fall for their scam

These folks are ***! A couple of months ago, I took out a policy with CarShield. The policy number was MRF3122271. At that time I had 129,338 miles on my car. On April 3, 2020, I called and cancelled my account. I was well within their 30 day inspection period and Louis cancelled my policy. A week or so ago, I received an advertisement from CarShield in the mail that offered me a better deal then I had been able to get over the phone. My better half and I discussed it and decided to accept this new offer. On Friday 7/10/2020, I called CarShield and set up a "new' policy as advertised. They then issued me a "new" policy number based on the new mileage on my car. That "new" policy number is *** In the mean time, a competing company contacted me with an offer that Carshield is totally unable to offer. I attempted to call Carshield to cancel again on 7/11/2020 and found that they don't answer phones over the weekends. I waited until this morning, 7/13/2020, called to cancel, and when asked why, I mentioned the other company's offer and the policy number. The young lady I spoke to told me that there was no mention anywhere on her computer of the original policy! All the sales person had done was to take that original policy and update the vehicle mileage and re-issue it! I still wait to get a copy of my "new" policy in the mail. I still have my original policy in hand so as to be able to compare the two. Other than the monthly price, the only difference will be the vehicle mileage! In my book, this does not constitute a "new" policy!

It was cancelled again, as you requested, and you were refunded immediately the one payment made. Your service contract has been cancelled and you have been refunded in full. First off my mechanic called and had to leave a message because there was apparently nobody to answer the phone. After a day of waiting and never receiving a call back. I had to call and still there was nobody available. After 3 hours they returned my call and didn't seem to know how to address my concerns. After 3 days my mechanic was able to file a claim on my behalf, which was denied. My CV shaft was bad because of the boot tearing. They said because the boot was damaged they would not cover it. That is the most common thing that happens with the CV shaft and it's not covered. I'm paying $100 a month for this plan and couldn't even get a job covered that was $350 and I'm supposed to believe that they will cover an engine or transmission? I'm sure they find the most common thing that happens and exclude it from coverage. I never received my contract as I was supposed to or maybe I would have known this but even the rep I spoke to couldn't understand why it wasn't covered since it said all lubricated parts in that area. I called today to cancel and of course they are closed and there is no way to contact them on Sunday. I want my contract cancelled and a refund as well. This company is deceptive

Bought a car shield warranty on Feb 15 2020 and due to Covid my car sat until a couple of weeks ago when I went to finally use my car and it was having an issue. Had it taken to a shop to get looked at and although I've had the warranty since Feb but didnt meet the mileage requirements due to covid they are refusing to honor the warranty. My car has been in the shop since 7/7/20 and it's 7/10/20 and I'm still getting the run around. Finally the owner of the business was able to speak with someone after I spent hours on the phone trying to reach someone that could help me. I got a call back and I had him call the owner while he put me on hold. To me that is very unprofessional. He gets back on the phone to tell me that the owner is talking with a representative. I got a text from the owner giving me a claim number *** and that an adjuster will get back to him. That is not the way I was told CarShield do business when I agree to buy the policy. I'm a health care worker and I don't have money like this to throw away and then have to come out my pocket to pay. I just want my car fix and back in my possession. My wife and I, purchased car shield for piece of mind on our 2003 Saturn vue. One of the sales representatives for the company, informed us that if anything happened to your vehicle that requires coverage the policy has too be twenty days OR 500 miles. A problem has occured that should be covered under our coverage which as advertised initially to my wife and I. The policy was purchased initially in the 07/03/2020, the engine issue occurred 07/08/2020, which I properly reported to carshield. This is apparently from some of the reviews not a isolated incident of false advertisement committed by CarShield.

I have a vehicle repair insurance policy with Car Shield, who advertises their coverage on national tv and cable.
I took my are into *** in Seattle, WA 2 weeks ago and they found I needed to have the rack and pinion replaced. In order to PROPERLY complete the job, the rack and pinion part is purchased, installed, the power steering fluid is flushed and replaced and the wheels, which are now out of alignment, must be aligned.
The total with sales tax from Bernies is approximately $1,350.
After FOUR (4) calls by the *** shop manager to Car Shield, he spent 55 minutes trying to settle with the Car Shield CSR, who apparently is paid to NOT approve costs. They finally agreed on a price to replace the rack and pinion, but they would not pay for the power steering fluid flush and and would not pay for the alignment and would not pay the State of Washington sales tax!
So instead of the approx $1,350 repair, including sales tax, car shield agreed to $890, which after my deductible is $790.
That does not include the sales tax.
I have a quote from the Cadillac dealership that is almost $1,500.
So the Car Shield people need to be held to account for their false advertising. Why? They do not cover sales tax. They put the power steering flush and replacement, and the wheel alignment into a recurring maintenance category, so they won't cover what is a part of any rack and pinion job.
You literally cannot properly drive a car after a rack and pinion job without a front end alignment or your wheels will shake and the tires will wear out. It's like replacing an engine and not connecting it to the transmission.

I had a 2015 Audi A6. I got the Gold contract and within the contract it covers the power-train. The engine light comes on, I received a diagnostic test and it needs to turbo to be replaced and a timing chain. Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: The response from Car Shield is absolutely unacceptable. Their reasoning makes no sense at all as it even states in their contract that they will cover engine and turbo and makes no reference to the position of where the turbo sits on the engine. Their argument is since the turbo sits on top of the engine then they're not responsible for covering the cost. This is the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard as the majority of cars with turbo sit on top of the engine. Once again another loop hole this company tries to pull with their clients......shameful! I am requesting that Car Shield provide me a refund of all payments I made per month since I've been with them, also I will be consulting a lawyer and will be filing a compliant to the Missouri AG's office for unlawful business practices.

Sincerely
