I am requesting that Carshield and their subsidiaries honor their contract . I have spent the last 6 weeks in arguement and legal cherry picking to have them repair my vehicle. I have been without my primary vehicle that long. They are refusing to replace a bad sensor in the passenger seat for the airbags. They are refusing stating it is under their air bags clause but since I paid for their highest level coverage which includes electronics they still are refusing to honor their contract. They state that this sensor is under the supplemental SRS system. I state that this is part of the primary system since I cannot pass inspection and have an unsafe vehicle to operate.

Thank you for reaching out. We would like to help you resolve this matter, but the service contract number you have provided is not pulling anything up in our system.

Please look on the top left of the declaration page of your service contract and provide the contract # listed. Or, if you do not have a copy of your contract handy, you could provide your VIN number and we can look your service contract up that way.

Also, check the name of the marketer on the first page of your contract.

We will look forward to hearing back from you.

Respectfully,

Customer Relations

Called CarShield on March 26th , 2020 to cancel policy for vehicle that I no longer own. The customer service rep said she cancelled the policy and that I would no longer he auto-billed. I recevied the e-mail for this notification as well from Car-shield. Carshield still billed me on April 10th, 2020 on my Wells Fargo Card. I have the statement for proof.

CarShield Response • Apr 15, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have noted that you requested cancellation. Your last payment is in the process of being refunded. It generally takes 3-5 business days to show as a credit to your Visa account.

Carshield sucks! Their commerical is a total LIE!!!! I had paid for few months for my 06 kia rio. My rio broke down on highway and had it eventually towed to a kia dealership. Kia dealership diagnosed the problem saying engine was warped due to the water pump failing. So they said car needed new engine. Carshield said that engine wasnt covered but water pump is so they said they would help with it. Well they are *** cause it states in my contract that it would cover any lubricating part or other problems caused by that specific lubricating part and the water pump is a LUBRICATING PART of the ENGINE!!! COMPLETE SCAM OF A COMPANY!

CarShield Response • Apr 14, 2020

You purchased your service contract on April 4, 2019. On 5/2/2019 your vehicle was towed into the repair facility with blown head gaskets and warped heads. Your service contract administrator requested tow and service records to review before they could proceed with the repair claim. They did not receive the records requested to proceed. Your service contract then cancelled for non payment on October 21, 2019.

Customer Response • Apr 28, 2020

And I sent them everything on the tow amd the mechanics at the KIA DEALERSHIP said they were waiting on your so called "company" to call them to start a repair but your rep said it only covers water pump and my KIA needed a WHOLE NEW MOTOR!!! THIS COMPANY IS JUST AS BAD, ACTUALLY WORSE THAN THOSE SCAMMERS!!! AND IF PEOPLE KNOW MORE, CHECK OUT KOMU CH.8 NEWS WEBSITE CAUSE HAD THEIR INVESTIGATION UNIT DO SOME DIGGING AND THEY ALSO SHOW MY PROOF OF EVERYTHING THAT WAS SENT TO ME AND WHAT I HAD SENT TO THIS F RATED COMPANY!!

This company continues to write and call me even though I have told them that I’m not interested in their product. I’ve asked them several times to stop calling but they continue. I am on the Do Not Call list and I have informed them of this fact but they still keep calling.

CarShield Response • Apr 15, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. However, we show no incoming or outgoing calls to the phone number you have provided.

Often times a consumer is receiving phone calls from one of the many other marketers out there; then receives one of our mailers, and assumes the phone calls were coming from us as well. That is not the case.

If you can provide us the the ID number that would have appeared on one of the mailers you received; we would be happy to remove you from our mailing list. However, we have not contacted you by phone.

I purchased coverage from Carshield a few months ago. The representative that I talked to ran off a ton of items that this warranty covered. He told me that it was comparable to the warranty I had with the dealership, if not better. The only thing he specified that they wouldn't cover would be things like tires, batteries, and brakes. Fast forward to March 31, 2020 I contacted them about some repairs that my car needed and come to find out none of the repairs was covered. I told them that this coverage is not comparable to the warranty that I had with the dealership and that I wanted to cancel my services immediately. Since they just charged me for the next month I asked for a full refund that's when they informed me that I wasn't entitled to a refund but I could still use their services until it run out. The representative misrepresented the products that they were offering in order to make a sell. This is a deceptive practice and I would like my money back.

CarShield Response • Apr 15, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter.

You purchased a service contract for your Chevy Impala on October 30, 2019. The representative you spoke with read from your service contract terms, the covered components listed. We also emailed and mailed you a copy of your service contract terms and conditions, with a 30 day period to review the covered components and receive a full refund if there was anything you did not like about your contract terms.

Struts and shocks are a normal wear and tear maintenance item and are not listed as covered in your contract terms.

Your service contract does cover a great deal of your suspension components, including your upper and lower control, radius, thrust and trailing arms; shafts and bushings; upper and lower ball joints; steering knuckles; stabilizer shaft, linkage and bushings; track bar and bushings; kingpin and bushings; spindle and spindle supports; torsion bars, coil and leaf springs and wheel bearings.

All covered components were made available for you to review from the point of purchase going forward.

Your month to month service contract has been cancelled as you requested and no further monthly renewals will be charged. We will refund the last payment made as a gesture of goodwill.

Respectfully,

Customer Relations

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

You advertise that your car coverage is “like” the one you get at a car dealership. Which is not true because the coverage you receive from a dealership covers a lot more than what you offer. You claim that your packages are “customizable” but I wasn’t given the opportunity to do so even after asking about it numerous times. Therefore it is either untrue or your representative wasn’t completely knowledgeable about what services and products you offer. You advertise that your car coverage can save consumers a ton of out-of-pocket costs except for a “few exclusions”. However you can’t find any information on your website whatsoever about what those exclusions are prior to purchasing your goods and services.

I called in to inquire about your goods and services and the representative I spoke to was adamant in saying that you cover everything except tires, batteries, and brakes. I told him that I would shop around a little/think it over and give him a call back if I felt it was a good fit. That's when he really became pushy and started telling me how great the warranty is. Then he told me that I should get coverage today because anything could go wrong and I'll be out of thousands of dollars. He told me that there was special pricing but it was for today only. He said he couldn’t guarantee that they will be able to give me the special promotion if I didn’t take advantage of it today. I tried to get off the phone but he kept pushing and pushing, playing on my emotions. I finally agreed and signed up for your services and made the initial payment. He told me that I would receive a copy of my contract in the mail to review. I never received a copy of my contract in the mail and when I called and asked about it I was told that they didn’t send it out because they were trying to save on paper. I was then told they would send it via email, I’m still waiting for that to happen.

Your practices are deceptive, if they weren't then I would know everything I needed to know in order to make an informed decision from your website alone. You would be transparent and I would be able to see all of the exclusions on your website before purchasing your goods and services.

Sincerely

CarShield Response • Apr 24, 2020

The representative you spoke with read from your service contract terms, the covered components listed. We also emailed and mailed you a copy of your service contract terms and conditions, with a 30 day period to review the covered components and receive a full refund if there was anything you did not like about your contract terms. All covered components and any exclusions were listed in your contract and in the emailed copy of your contract for your review.

Your service contract does cover a great deal of your suspension components along with many others, including your upper and lower control, radius, thrust and trailing arms; shafts and bushings; upper and lower ball joints; steering knuckles; stabilizer shaft, linkage and bushings; track bar and bushings; kingpin and bushings; spindle and spindle supports; torsion bars, coil and leaf springs and wheel bearings.Struts and shocks are a normal wear and tear maintenance item and are not listed as covered in your contract terms.

Your service contract provider has paid well over 10.5 million dollars in covered repair claims, since January 2020 alone. All the covered components in your contract can be very costly, and had any of them failed, they would have been covered and paid for as stated in your contract.

Your month to month service contract has been cancelled as you requested.

Respectfully,

I have been a customer of theirs since December 2017. I have coverage on 2 cars. I pay them every month. I bought a brand new clutch and installed it in late March. I paid $900. I have the receipt for the installation. My transmission has gone out and I took it to my mechanic. I put in a claim to Carshield and they told my mechanic they will not pay for the transmission until I get another clutch. I told them the clutch is brand new, but they insist I pay for another one before they cover the cost of the transmission. This is not right. They are taking advantage of customers. They are very rude and disrespectful.

CarShield Response • Apr 13, 2020

We appreciate your bringing this matter to our attention. We are happy to look into it for you.

We have gotten in touch with your service contract administrator, American Auto Shield (AAS), to obtain information on the transmission claim you have referenced. AAS stated that your repair facility told them your vehicle's clutch was bad and they could not diagnose the transmission without the clutch working. The clutch would need to be replaced to properly diagnose the transmission.

At that time you requested cancellation of your service contract. Your service contract has been cancelled and you are in the process of being refunded in full minus the $235 in paid tow fees.

Respectfully,

Customer Relations

They misled me. They told me they cover everything when I bought it. When I turned in the emissions on my pickup, they told me they cover everything but emissions.

CarShield Response • Apr 14, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond and to help you resolve this matter.

We did review the call between yourself and our sales representative. The representative you spoke with read the list of components that are covered under your powertrain gold service contract terms. You also received a copy of your vehicle service contract terms, listing all covered components. Each customer has a 30 day free look period to read over the contract terms, with a full refund if there is anything you do not like.

A repair claim was submitted for a failed EGR valve. This component is not listed in your contract terms as being eligible for coverage.

We have noted that you called our office on April 9, 2020 and requested a quote for coverage on a different vehicle. If you are planing on trading this vehicle in or selling it, you can cancel your current contract and receive any prorated refund that may be due. Please contact our customer service department ***, or you may send an email to ***. We would be happy to take care of that for you, or set up coverage on a different vehicle for you.

Respectfully,

Customer Relations

I'm so glad I got it. I mean I'm glad I got it.

CarShield Response • Apr 14, 2020

Thank you for your review. We are glad we were able to assist your recent thermostat and gasket repair. Please don't hesitate to give us a call next time you need us. We are always happy to speak with you.

Car shield is excellent. The customer service is excellent and for the price you get more than what you paid.

CarShield Response • Apr 28, 2020

Thank you for your positive review!! CarShield is always here for our customers! Please make sure to call us if you should ever need anything. Stay safe and healthy!

I think it I felt protected and it worked as it should on the repair.

CarShield Response • Apr 30, 2020

We appreciate your positive feedback! Please feel to contact our customer service team if you need anything further. Stay safe and healthy!

If I could give CarShield negative stars, I would do so. CarShield's commercials are completely misleading. They make EVERY effort NOT to provide services to their customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

CarShield Response • Apr 14, 2020

Each customer's vehicle qualifies for different coverage levels based on the vehicle's year, make and mileage. Our sales representatives address the covered components, specific to the service contract the customer's vehicle qualifies for, with each of our customers when they purchase a service contract. The contract terms are also emailed and mailed to each of our customer so they can review the terms with a 30 day free look period.
Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested and you are in the process of being refunded.

Do not ever contact this business they will spoof your number and call you twice a day. I block one number only to have them call me with another one. I've asked them repeatedly to stop calling and have filed a grievance with the FTC.

CarShield Response • Apr 14, 2020

We don't have record that we have ever spoken to you. If you would like to email your phone number to us at ***, we would be happy to make sure it is removed from our call list.

SCAM ALERT they do not back up their contracts they always find a loop hole to get out of covering the repairs.

CarShield Response • Apr 14, 2020

Thank you for reaching out. We see that you contacted us regarding some routine maintenance items such as your battery and struts. These items are not listed as covered under your extended service contract terms. However, there are many major components that are eligible for coverage. The covered components are listed in your contract terms for your review. Worth noting, over 5.5 million in covered repair claims was paid for our customers, just last month alone!
You contacted our office on April 8, 2020 and requested cancellation of your service contract. It has been cancelled as you requested and you in the process of receiving a refund of payments made.

Customer Response • Apr 14, 2020

Don’t insult my intelligence I am aware that batteries are not covered my call was about the struts which I was told when I purchased the policy they were covered. This was not the only incident I was previously declined on other repairs as well. One was for a wiring harness that controls all of the electrical in the steering column. I was told at that time my electrical system was not covered even though I was told my electrical was covered when I signed up for the plan. As far as my refund that’s news to me the woman I last spoke with last told me there will be no refund of any kind. You need to stop spending so much on your advertising budget and put some money towards better customer service and towards your sales department to be more honest. Good luck scamming more hard working Americans out of their hard working money. You people are despicable only now that you realize how strong the Revdex.com and social media are you act concerned about your customers.

Last June I had a claim through this company and they covered the water pump and replaced it for my 2014 Dodge Challenger. The water pump came with a lifetime warranty. The water pump went out 3 days ago. I called Carshield and so did the mechanic asking for the receipt so we can replace the water pump. Since I no longer have a policy, they will not give me the info in order to replace it. They said they purchased it from ***. I called *** and they said they do cover it and replace it. Carshield will not give me the information unless I sign up with them.

CarShield Response • Apr 11, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to help you resolve this matter.

Your service contract administrator, American Auto Shield, was the obligated party under your contract terms and has full authority over repair claim procedures, parts procurement and payments. American Auto Shield would be the proper party to address this issue.

We have contacted them on your behalf in an effort to help you. They would be who you would need to contact to get the information you are looking for. Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: I contacted them already and they was telling me that regardless

of them purchasing the water pump for my sons car with a lifetime warranty once my contract was depleted they don’t honor the warranty. I was told that they purchased it from ***. I contacted the one here where I reside as to their policies and they said once it is purchased they do not take back a warranty on any product. Carshield just won’t honor or cooperate because I am no longer a patron of theirs. Well it took me a week or more to get them to honor the policy that we had. Now all I ask for is the receipt for the part or reimburse me on what I paid for another water pump for the car. Their product only lasted for 10 months and Zi feel that I shouldn’t have to go through the headache that they cause. When calling you go through ten people before someone can even give you a crazy answer.

Sincerely

CarShield Response • Apr 15, 2020

We appreciate your concerns and have contacted your service contract administrator for their explanation.

American Auto Shield stated, "The contract paid for a water pump replacement through *** and the warranty on their part is between *** and AAS, not *** and the customer. Now that the customer has cancelled the contract, the warranty would not transfer to the customer.

In this case, the customer made ONE $99.00 payment in May 2019, had a claim paid, and cancelled in June 2019. With the water pump having issues again now and the contract being cancelled; there would not be any liability on the water pump from *** or from American Auto Shield. The contract was cancelled at the customer request, almost a year ago."

Respectfully,

Customer Relations

I paid a lot of money for this warranty and they seem not to want to cover anything. they do not want to cover one part because of another part is not covered, does not make sense.

CarShield Response • Apr 12, 2020

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and are happy to look into this for you.

We contacted your service contract administrator to get information on the repair claim you have referenced. *** stated that they have paid repair claims for you that total $1682.08. The most recent being on April 9, 2020 for a new air conditioning compressor replacement.

*** also stated that they have replaced a fuel pump for you in September of 2017 along with a couple of paid towing fees.

Dont ever go by the commercial! The commercial gives miss leading information. My heat was not work, I called them to get it fixed after paying for car shield for 6 months. I was under the impression since it would get a window motor fixed and they would pay for towing and rental car, it would surely pay to get heater core fixed. I was sent to ASE certified mechanic by car shield, after calling around to three I settled on the dealer. The dealer didnt check my heater core, the said it was the heater door, plus my o2 sensor, and I had an oil leak. Racking up over 2000 in charges, car shield paid for nothing! They charge over 100 a month to pay very little.

CarShield Response • Apr 08, 2020

Your driver side temperature door and 02 sensor are not listed as covered components and not eligible for coverage. Your AC condenser, compressor, evaporator, expansion valve, accumulator/receiver dryer and blower motor are covered. However, not the temperature door.

complete rip off, bought platinum policy, went over everything with salesman, asked if electronics are covered, he said yes. months later, check engine light, camshaft sensors, $900. claim denied. told to go read my contract some sensors covered just not mine, they told me I had 30 days to review and could have looked to see which sensors are covered and which are not. I am not a mechanic, how would I know. RIP OFF COMPANY
