I am in the middle of a Carshield claim as we speak.and I read my contract word for word. As of now my experience was ok until I received a phone call today from Americanshield saying that they would only cover a little over 200.00 for repairs and I would have to pay over a 1000.00 out of pocket. Mind you I ve the Gold Package and was previously advised my repairs would be covered. I found out moments later this representative called and gave me the wrong information. I'm still not convinced everything will work out until I go pick up my vehicle tomorrow. So stay tuned
We have contacted your service contract administrator to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. They let us know that hey paid the repair claim in the amount of $842.29 on 3/12/2020. We are happy they were able to assist you with this repair.
Good service so far for my claim with you. It was good speedy service.
Thank you for your kind remarks. Please give us a call whenever you need assistance. We are always happy to speak with you.
Car shield lied said they do not send inspectors after you get policy. I read reviews of abuse. Car shield lies to me to try and get me to purchase policy. I started asking question he wouldn't answer. Then they tracked me down with my phone number ( I did not give them ) I recieved calls from them everyday sometimes 2 times per day. To hound me. ( tape all your calls & ask questions) if they beat around the Bush to answer leave them alone.
My Complaint is against Car Shield ..I had an extended (Power Tran) warranty...when my car broke down they honored nothing, would not let me talk to a manager or anyone that could look into my situation an oly gave 1st names so you had no way of identifying them,May engine went on my car and they denied my claim because they say the car over heated..which is normally what happens when an engine goes...kept trying to apeak to a higher up and they person told me they would not have there supervisor to contact me so I'm really trying to get someone that's able to look into it to see legitimately why my clain was denied

This company preys on people who don’t understand what they are getting into. My in-laws were paying $100 a month for a “car warranty” policy. They are in their 80s and obviously on a tight budget. Beware, this is a scam.
Because I have carshield and my truck broke the motor went out and they made it seem like I was the reason it went out because it didn't have oil on the dip stick the truck may have been burning oil cause if anyone that know me know I take better car of my truck than anybody I treat my truck better than I do my wife.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We contacted your service contract administrator regarding the repair claim you referenced. There was no oil on your dipstick. The oil was very low and your engine was locked up. This claim was denied for lack of proper maintenance causing catastrophic engine failure.
Just because their was no oil on the dipstick doesn't mean that it was my fault the truck had to be burning oil but the engine wasn't broke to see why it didn't have any oil I sent in my maintenance records it was still denied and if they knew me like everybody else they would know how good of care I take of my truck oil change every 3000 miles or 3 months tune up every yeah fluids checked every week, I am a mechanic I did this in the military so dont tell me it was my fault when I know damn well it wasnt u think I'm going to pay all that money for my truck and dont take care of it doesn't make any sense.
wiill not pay for repair and has been going on for 2 weeks with no replye and put on hold til it discodects

Very high pressure sales. They would not take no for an answer. I finally had to hang up because the sales rep would not accept a polite, "I am sorry, but no." Then I still had to call back to get put on the do not call list, and still had to unsubscribe from the emails.
As soon as you request an online quote your phone will start ringing. They left me 4 voicemails within an hour. I would not leave them your main mobile number. I left my voicemail number.
Also, after I declined the first quote, the price suddenly dropped about $20 a month. I do not want to haggle with a car warranty company.
I agree with other comments. Just put the money aside in case something happens.
We apologize if the representative you spoke with was anything less that polite and helpful. We will review the call and take any action needed.
I notified Car-shield of a problem with my car. Then, I brought my car to Crown Chrysler and Jeep Company. I had a miss fire in my engine. I then had to pay Crown, Chrysler and jeep company in Chattanooga, tn.. Car-shield said before they can consider a repair, they would have to find the cause of failure. Crown, Chrysler Jeep manager needed permission from me to take the Heads off, my car. They sent the heads to the machine shop. The heads was good. They had the motor open up enough to see that the piston had carbon on the piston. Car-shield sent an inspector to verify, the problem. Car-shield said they still didn't see the cause of failure. I was already out of $1,000 with Crown, Chrysler. They found a chewed wire on the n/ 4 cylinder. This fix only the no. 4 cylinder, but, my car still had a miss-fire in it. Car-Shield said they had to take the engine out to physically see the cause of failure. Crown motors advised me in order to comply with car-shield, they would have to charge me $2500. I had my broke car town back to my home. They Car-Shield called me and found another repair shop. I they had my car towed to this shop. This shop pulled my entire engine out of my car, and show Car-Shield investigator the cause of failure. The cause of failure was compressed rings, and carbon on the piston.Car-Shield advise me that they don't cover worn parts in the engine. This cost me $350 to get my broke car back from this shop. Now, I have a car in my yard without an engine and Car-shield still want replace the engine in my car. Crown motors and tyranny repair shop both recommended to replace the engine. I have paid Car-shield for the entire amount of my contract in October of 2019. I have never use this contract, but for one time since getting Car-shied for my extended warranty. I am a blind disabled veteran needing my car to go to many appointments.

Sincerely,
Harold Robinson I have went round and round with this company, and they still don't want to Honor this claim. How can you have a company that say, we don't replace worn parts (in a Engine). I was told by one of their Supervisor, that I have a Good Plan, it covered Rings, Pistons and now say they will not repair my car. Every time, I hear their commercial about replacing an engine, or replacing a transmission, I get Sick. Please help me to get an Engine in my car. It makes it hard for me to get around without my car.
Thank-You
I spoke with a representative of the company today and they said they are not going to cover the cost of repairing my car.

Sales staff is HIGHLY rude and disrespectful. HIGH PRESSURE sales pitch, and repeated calls after declining warranty plan. Talked to 3 total different sales people - all the same - rude and disrespectful. If I get this type of go around, I am sure the customer services would be the same, and a repair claim even worst. Plenty of companies offering warranties, don't chose this one.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We will review the call and take any appropriate action necessary. We apologize if our representatives were anything but polite and informative.
High pressure - won't quit, multiple calls, USPS & emails. Used "spoofed" telephone number - ***-***- XXXX, Baker MT for last attempted contact - no such number. Try getting a maintenance from a local dealer. CS quoted me $130/mo. or $1,560 per year which would by lots of repairs. I see continual & aggravating ads on OAN that feature exaggerated repair costs.
I smelled a rat upon my first contact with CS.
Car shield would not support their claim to fix my car.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Per your contract terms, no claims will be paid within the initial 20 day and 500 mile waiting period.
We will refund the 2 payments you made as a gesture of goodwill.
I have only had the contract one month but I have paid for two months, a total of $160.00. I called wanting to cancel and the person that I spoke with said I couldn't. This is actually the second time I've tried to cancel. I haven't made any claims on the contract. I don't want them to debit my account for a third month and I want a refund and to have the contract completely cancelled.
Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested and you are in the process of being refunded the 2 payments you have made.

OMG after all the bad things I've heard and the reviews I've read since getting carshield yesterday, I now have big regrets about paying them 129 dollars for a policy to cover repairs on our Commander if we needed them. I noticed there was a lot of hidden things in the policy that they didn't tell you, which I didn't know about until after I got it yesterday. It appears all the bad reviews are correct, they will do anything to not cover your vehicle instead of covering it like they say on there commercials. I will be certainly talking things over with my wife tonight about them, and might be wanting our money back from them. We really don't know how they are due to we just got them, but from what I'm seeing and hearing so far, it sounds like we may have made one huge mistake getting a policy with them. I would of hoped not, but that is my opinion so far. I wish I had looked into them deeper before leaping yesterday.
Thank you for reaching out. Your service contract administrator, ***, has paid over 9 million dollars in covered repair claims, just in the last 3 months alone! They take care of covered repairs and are A+ rated by the Revdex.com. Our complaint to sales ratio is less than 1%.
Have 2011 F-150 with 60,000 miles in excellent condition. Have an extended Ford warranty (top plan) that ends in May, Called Carshield to see what they offered to extend the warranty. I was upfront with the telephone agent that I was looking and the timing of my possible purchase. He quoted me $142/month but, "if I purchased today they would take off $20/month so $122/mo" but if I did not do it today, it would be the full price. I told him I was only comparing and was not going to submit to pressure, and he got pretty uppity and basically hung up on me. No goodbye...just "click". I have a quote from Ford for an extension of the ESP warranty covering the powertrain and all electronics for another 4 years (100K miles) for less than half of the Carshield price. The Carshield warranty at $142/month for the same period would be $6800. I'm pretty sure I'm staying with Ford. Didn't appreciate the rude agent either. Be aware of what you're buying.
Disabled veteran on a fixed income paid for years first time I need to do nothing covered do I have to pay me to get my car fixed over $600 skip commercial songs no Big Bill's don't you believe it they cover very little it has to be something catastrophic so I had to decide pay my premium for car Shield or fix my car
Your repair facility submitted a repair claim for a failed "water outlet". This was causing a coolant leak. The "water outlet" is not listed as a covered component in your powertrain service contract terms.
Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested.
On January 24th 2020 I purchased the Enhanced Powertrain Coverage, Contract #*** and I was told that the engine and transmission were covered should failure occur. I called several times asking different questions about coverage and what to do should I need to file a claim and if there was anything else I needed to do. At the end of February my car died and I had it towed and the mechanic stated that the engine had seized, even though there was plenty of oil in the engine. I filed a claim with Carshield and filled all the paperwork that was requested. They sent a mechanic out to take a look at my car and stated the engine had seized and need a total replacement and the mechanic started the process. I called carshield a week later to see if there was anything else I needed to do on my end and was told that the claim was denied because of the suspension modification and that I didn’t purchase the extra modification coverage at the time of contract purchase. At NO TIME was I EVER asked about modifications made to my Jeep by the sales representative. Expecting the customer to know what the sales representative should have asked on their own asinine and its shady practice to do so. It’s not my job to do the job for the sales representative. I was told, of course, that I could purchase the extra modification coverage now, but it would not cover the current claim. I requested the call be escalated to a supervisor and I spoke to Cali #***, and she stated that under no circumstances would my current claim be covered. She insinuated that I had lied about the modifications because I was not forthcoming when buying the warranty, as if I’m supposed to magically know how to do the sale representative’s job. It's extremely poor service for a company to expect their customers to know everything the business needs. I requested my contract to be cancel and for a refund and was told that I was not entitled to receive a refund.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Per your contract terms, your claim was denied due to the modifications made to your vehicle of a 6" lift kit and oversized tires.
Your service contract states, modifications and or alterations to the vehicle exclude it from coverage. Such parts and modifications include but are not limited to, headers, altered ignition system, oversized or undersized tires, wheels or lift and drop kits, whether or not the vehicle was purchased with such.
Your service contract was mailed and emailed to you with a 30 day period to review the contract terms, with a full refund if there was anything you did not like in the contract terms.
Your contract has been cancelled as you requested and you are in the process of being refunded in full.

I am rejecting this response because:
To respond to the first statement. The Jeep has a 3.5 inch lift, not a 6 inch lift.
To the 2nd part...this is not why I was told that the coverage was being rejected. I was told that coverage was being rejected because I did NOT purchase a modified package when I bought the initial coverage. I was also told that I could purchase a modified package for future claims which is in complete disagreement with your claim of modifications not being covered. At no time was I ever asked about modifications made to the vehicle during the sales call. You record these calls, correct? Listen to the call and I request the same of the Revdex.com. There is no way for me, the customer, to know or guess at what I am supposed to tell the sales representative without being prompted. Expecting anyone to do so is ludicrous. That is the company's responsibility to ask such questions about possible modifications to any vehicle. This type is service is extremely shady and should be illegal!
To the 3rd. I saw a notice for a refund of $99. This is NOT a full refund as you have stated because I paid for 2 months of service before being denied and me canceling the contract.
The company needs to get its story straight because I am now being given 2 completely different reasons as to why my service request was denied.
Sincerely
Again, your service contract states, modifications and or alterations to the vehicle exclude it from coverage. Such parts and modifications include but are not limited to, headers, altered ignition system, oversized or undersized tires, wheels or lift and drop kits, whether or not the vehicle was purchased with such.
This is listed in your service contract terms for your review during the first 30 days after purchase. If there were any questions you had about the service contract terms you received or did not like any of the terms, you were able to call for a full refund.
Your service contract administrator, American Auto Shield (AAS), is the obligated party under your service contract and listed that your vehicle had a 6 inch lift and oversized tires by 9.26%. It was your service contract administrator, with full authority over repair claim procedures, approvals and denials, that denied your repair claim due to modifications.
If you have any further dispute regarding their claim decision, please direct it to American Auto Shield at the address listed on the first 3 pages of your contract terms. Also see section M of your contract regarding any dispute between yourself and AAS being resolve through the Denver Revdex.com's arbitration rules.
You are in the process of being refunded in full. Your initial payment of $99.00 has already been credited back to your Visa card ending in 5934 and the remaining payment made will be sent by check to your *** address. You should receive your check in approximately 10 days.
Don’t fall into this trap I had coverage for over six months and had payments coming directly out of my bank account an once I needed to make a claim I was very disappointed an hurt to say the least. My transmission went out an I had it towed to certified transmissions an they told me it needed to be replaced, I contacted car shield an a agent came out and denied my claim not offering one red penny I was so hurt I wanted to cry, I then asked about the rental service an was told I would have to pay full price myself an they would reimburse me after the repairs was done which would’ve been nothing since they denied the claim, certified transmission was very aware of this process an told me sad to say but this happens more then not that’s how they make they money. They felt my pain and allowed me to make payments which I did an ended up coming out of 2,500. I canceled my coverage the same day!!! And car shield even had the audacity to try an pull out another payment after I canceled my coverage, lucky for me I switched my account numbers. If I could go back in time I would’ve never fell into this trap thinking I was buying a piece of mind only to result in a huge!!!! Let down every word is true , don’t be another victim hope this helps!!!
Your claim was denied, as the inspection showed the failure to be pre-existing the effective date of your service contract. You called our office and requested cancellation of your service contract on May 14, 2019. Your last payment came out on May 9, 2019. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we will refund your last payment back to your Visa.
They use very high pressure sales tactics and basically force you to sign up on your first call. I told the sales representative that I was simply calling for a quote and needed to think about it before committing to spend over $3,000. He basically accused me of lying and said that if I didn’t pay right then the price would increase dramatically because I would wait until I had a claim. Accusing customers of lying and scamming them on the initial phone call? really?!? This is not a way to gain customers, Car Shield. No thank you.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will certainly review the call and take any appropriate action needed. Our sales reps are trained to be nothing more than polite and informative and we apologize if the representative you spoke with was anything less than that.
Rip off ! Doesn't cover anything! They just get your money every month.
Your service contract administrator requested that your repair facility show them cause of failure to proceed with your repair claim, per your contract terms. Your repair facility would not diagnose to cause of failure. Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested.
