American Express has done nothing to rectify this matter or even pretend like they care about the $1200 I’ve lost. They sent a letter saying their investigation of the dispute led to the determination that the transaction was valid. This is despite the fact that I called in and spoke at lengths with their support staff and informed them that the transaction was not authorized by me. The reason they found the transaction to be valid is because if they determined that it was not authorized by me (even though I’ve tols them numerous time it WAS NOT), then they would have to pay out of pocket to reimburse me of those funds and they do not want to reimburse me. This is the legal equivalent of a Judge presiding over a lawsuit where that same Judge is also the listed defendant. Does anyone really this the judge is going to hand down a ruling where that results in him paying any judgement. Of course not. American Express has good reason to find that this transaction was authorized and that notice is because if they do not make that determination they will have to reimburse my money. They clearly don’t want to do that and apparently they don’t have to, unbelievable I know! But it’s true. This is a perfect example of the socio-geo-political climate that exists in this country. Corporate Greed in America and their lawlessness. This incident nearly killed me because that money was set aside for my insulin which is a life sustaining medication. American Express knew this was the case bc I informed them. Despite even this grave reality, nonethelsss they didn’t care a single bit nor try to offer ny solution. Classic example of Corporate Greed and the unchecked authority of the transnational cartel of bankers. They should be ashamed of themselves appalled.
