I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
American Express's response is no surprise. It...
is truly sad that a corporation can get so big that they don't care whether they cheat one person or not because they know there are so many customers out there that they don't have to care anymore. My complaint was totally valid and American Express choose to ignore my substantially valid points. American Express's argument was that buried somewhere in very small fine print, they state that if you obtained an American Express Delta card at somewhere in your past, then you are not eligible for the benefits that advertise and promise to you in the future. As I mentioned in my initial complaint, American Express and DELTA sent me personally labelled and directed to, a letter telling me that if I was to open an account (and spent $1000 in three months) they would give me 50,000 Delta Skymiles plus additional benefits. The first several pages of the personal offer said NOTHING about not giving me the benefits if I was a previous card holder. When I called to apply for this offer I even SPECIFICALLY asked the representative if I would receive the 50,000 bonus miles by applying and was specifically told YES! When I didn't get them and called again, the representative specifically apologized and again told me YES I would get my bonus miles. American Express and Delta response was sorry we have it somewhere in writing that you won't.The most unfortunate part about this whole ordeal is that so very few other customers will ever read this complaint and will care whether this big corporation honors their promises and advertising or not. Further, that big Corporations can get away with treating their customers poorly and the government, who is supposes to protect us, turns it's head and looks the other way.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
American Express fails to acknowledge that I spoke to their representatives Ritika S[redacted] and Dave (he refused to give me his last name) on several occasions regarding the disputed charge. They were the ones that opened up the investigation regarding the disputed charge. In addition, I am now being harassed via e-mail by American Express threatening me to pay the disputed charge. Also, up until this very day, I am still unable to use my AMEX points because of the present issue. If American Express does not cooperate, I will close my account , still require that American Express allow me to transfer my points to the airline of my choice, and be compensated.

American Express is wrong when they say that I have not provided new information to make them change their position. The attached direct response to their letter, sent via US mail, provided to them a copy of their mail advertisement which solicited my application for their credit card with the offer of $250 award if I would spent $1000 or more during the first 3 months after receiving the new card. They must honor what they adevertise; otherwise it is false advertisement that violates consumer laws and is contrary to good business practices.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
There is no outstanding bill. The account...
has been settled. There is no reason to hold the funds. It should be cancelled. An administrative hold on a closed payment is fraudulent. To advise that in time the hold will be released is not acceptable. It should not be placed on the account at all. The billing information cited does not apply to this situation - as the merchant has already been paid in full and has requested the funds to be released.

I have no outstanding balances of any kind. I have an excellent payment record in the banking industry. My demand that I speak "LIVE" with a supervisor has been COMPLETELY IGNORED! WHY? Amex is openly guilty of age discrimination and deceptive and fraudulent business practices that they falsely deny. They are breaking federal applicable laws. Why do they refuse to give me the telephone number of a LIVE HUMAN BEING, rather than keep sending me the same stupid form letter signed M. G[redacted]? THIS IS DESPICABLE AND DISGRACEFUL conduct on Amex's account. I demand a live new account analyst call me!!!!
