SCAM! They asked for a $1 verification and ended up charging me $39.50. I called them to ask for a refund but instead they charged me another $35.50 and said they send me an email confirming to refund $35.50. What about the original $39.50??? They kept trying to tell me it's been refunded on their end already but it's not true. I had to call my bank to get this removed.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! I went to *** online and was somehow redirected to changemyaddress.org site. I filled in my credit card information, knowing that the *** uses it to verify and charges a $1 fee. I was shocked when I opened my online billing statement and saw a charge for $79!!!! I followed the trail from my online banking and it directed me to changemyaddress.org. When I read on their site, it said if I was unsatisified (or in my case, duped) I could receive a full refund within 30 days. Since it had only been, I was hopeful. When I called, they tried to talk me out of the refund. Then he proceeded to tell me they could only issue 50%. I read their website disclosure that stated I could receive a full refund, no questions asked. He then told me that some parts had already processed and I could be refunded all but $19.95. I told him that was unacceptable and that I would be reporting him to the Federal Trade Commission. He then told me all but $5.95 could be refunded. I told him it wasn't good enough and asked for management. He then said he could take it down to $1.95. I told him that wasn't good enough, and I expected a 100% refund. He then told me I would be fully refunded, but hung up on me before I could take down any type of confirmation number. I had to call back to ensure that the account had actually been cancelled and receive email verification. Dirty, predatory business practices.

Submitted change of address vi*** Unaware of 79.95 charges. Requested full refund as advertised in their terms and conditions. Was told first time I called, they could only refund 70.00 worth of charges. Was told second time I called, they could not give a full refund, because I had agreed to sign up for a welcome package. None of this is true. I requested a full refund of 79.95. As per their terms and conditions, customers may request a "no questions asked" refund at any time. Consumers need to be made aware this company is NOT affiliated with the USPS.

Can I rate it Zero? I had no idea that when I typed into a *** Search "*** Address Change" I would unwittingly choose a scammer service. I was used to a $1 charge from *** so when I entered all my personal info and credit card number and there was no total, I was suspect, but I also assumed it would be the usual $1. Totally my bad, but I didn't even think there would be anyone else out there charging $79.95! What is happening? How can we stop these people?

The website changemyaddress.org is a total scam. At no time did I knowingly authorize this company to charge my credit card to change my address. The falsely misrepresent themselves as being a company that works directly with USPS. Any Credit Card infrmation provided was done so on my part becuase this is also required by the USPS in order for them to charge $1.00 and validate the request as being legitimate.

In addition to the initial charges, the somehow figured out a way to charge me monthly for $59.03.

I was tricked into proividing my credit card information and in no way willingly/knowlingly authorized them to charge for a service that is provided by the USPS for $1.

Your website is very deceitful and tricks people to believe they are working with the *** or contractor. If a receipt of confirmation was generated saying that I am about to be charged $79.95 like any other website, I would have immediately backed out of the transaction.

We look forward to hearing from you and resolving all standing issues.

Change my address.org is a scam. I was told this was a $2.00 charge to change my address by the US postal service in an Clement Ca. They have you log in and then hide the charge during the processing. $79.95 was never shown to me during the transaction and the flyer given by the us postal Office in San Clemente Ca only shows a couple of dollars to do it.

Same experience. I remember the last time I changed my address, I was charged $1 to change it. This company (if it even is a real company) is preying on folks already in high stress situations where they are sick of reading fine print legal junk from realtors and lawyers to find themselves unknowingly spending $79.95 for basically zero service. This company does nothing but take the form you fill out and copy it over to the real *** move site and hopes that nobody sees their $79.95 charge come through. This is a shady business model...most likely the owner goes to nursing homes and signs up the poor senile elderly up for the do not call registry for $79.95 as well.

This website is very deceiving. You *** to change your address and they pop up and it looks like you are on the *** site. They then charge you $79.95 to change your address. I called customer service and said I did not want this service. She said we have already processed this and can give you a 50% refund. I argued and said I want the full refund, she then said we can refund the $70 and the other is for the do not call list. Again I argued, that I wanted the full refund and that this was a very deceptive website that looks like the post office site. I wanted my full refund. She finally said ok and I will see if I get my refund in the next few days. I feel like this is a very deceptive company. If I had not checked my credit card bill, I would have never known.

Our company places the utmost importance on our customer service, and we apologize for your negative experience. Unfortunately we are unable to locate an order with the information included in this complaint. It would be imperative and essential to the cancellation and refund of your order (if you did indeed order from our website, and not another) if you were able to provide the following information:

- Order Number

- First and Last Name the order was placed under. Many people order under a different name than they are using for the address change.

- Email address used when ordering. The email address used in this complaint did not provide any order details

- Old Address Zip Code and New Address Zip Code used during the ordering process.

Having, and including an order number is the most effective means of researching an order, and ensures a prompt and timely refund, if applicable. We look forward to hearing from you and resolving this issue.

Thank You

I disagree with the process in which the approval was given and what was going to be charged. Please remove any transactions pending for this and refund all previous debits. Again, there was no indication that acceptance would allow a $80 fee to be assessed.

This is the worst thing I've ever had happen online. I clicked directly from a *** email to the *** site, made my changes, provided my cc info authorizing $1, then was asked if I wanted to add my cell phone to the DNC list - so I said yes.
Checked my account today and had been charged $79.95 by changemyaddress.org - upon a quick google search, immediately found multiple complaints of a scam. I've disputed the charge, and now have to have my card shut down and a replacement sent. All while trying to complete a cross country move. Not to mention, these creepy people now have all my information. I am also reporting this to the IRS, out of fear for identity theft. Hope this gets shut down soon. Very frustrating.

I was under the impression that I was changing my address through the *** online. When I realized that it was through someone else, I quickly checked my debit account and realized I was charged $79.95 for an address change that usually costs $1.00. I immediately called the company at Changemyaddress.org and asked them to cancel the address change and refund my money. They said they were unable to do this, but after insisting they do so, they settled to offer me all but $9.95. I was unhappy with the company not giving me my full refund, but they assured me that there was nothing more they could do. I did research and a lot of people said they were tricked into paying absurd amounts of money for address changes and then never even received an address change from this company. I am contacting you because I would like my entire refund (the remaining $9.95) sent back to my account, so that I can go to the actual post office and get my address changed. This company should also advertise that they are about to charge you $80 to do a simple address change as well, in a place where people can actually SEE IT.

This company is operating an enormous scam targeting customers of the ***. On 5/29/18, I closed my *** PO box at my local post office and was directed to submit my change of address online which I have done several times in the past 10 years and am aware they charge $1 to a credit card. I searched *** address change and was directed to this website which is cleverly designed to look like the *** site. Nowhere did I see they were going to charge me $79.95. Within minutes, the Fraud Unit at my bank, ***, texted me that they had received two charges of $79.95 from this organization which looked suspicious and for me to confirm or deny. Of course, I denied and reported them as fraud, thanks to the excellent fraud service at ***, but I can see from googling this SHADY business, they have been getting away with this scam for far too long, ripping off thousands of people. Obviously they make good money doing so or they would not still be operating. PLEASE SHUT THEM DOWN.

This company did a bait and switch. they portrayed themselves at the US postal service, with address change for $1.00. They then charged my credit card $79.95.

I *** to reverse a forwarded address. this company intercepted, charged me $59.99, I called the next day when it showed up on my ccard, they then billed me same amount AGAIN. I called the next day, the reversed the 2nd false charge, NOT the first. I even stated that the *** (which I thought I was dealing with) only charges a $1. The rep on the phone apologized, said he would even wave the $1 charge, due to the inconvenience they caused.
I NEVER DID RECEIVE MY MAIL... so 3 WEEKS LATER... I went to my post office, and I was told that was the ONLY way to reverse a mail forwarding, was to come in in person and fill out the form that I did. only THEN did I receive my mail within a few days; (I lost important mail during that time).
So even if I did accidentally click on their website, they were not able to provide the forwarding address reversal!

I went to the USPS website via a search engine to submit a change of address and was deceptively brought to this website, which looks like the USPS website. It says it's only $1 to change an address, so I input my credit card, but months later, as I'm preparing my tax documents, I see a charge for around $59! I see there is a similar complaint about this service, and somehow this company remains in business. It is obviously a scam, disguised as the USPS site. Had I seen anything stating I'd have to pay an additional $58 dollars to change my address, I would have caught this up front and never paid. This company is operating off deception and should be shut down, especially since they do not provide any services promised in this payment.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. The business did refund my full amount, so I will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards

This company is advertising un USPS Change of Address google keyword searches. I completed the form and clicked submit. It did not process completely on my end, I received an error page. I then realized it was not the official USPS site.
I contact customer service according to the their confirmation email to cancel my order and was informed that it couldn't be cancelled. No where in the confirmation does it say this.
It is false advertising and shady that they charge you 59.95 to change an address when USPS does it for $1. Customer service is terrible.
