This website cloaks itself to look like the postal service. I went on this website because we are moving and I wanted to simply change my address with the post office. I entered my credit card information to pay the $1 post office fee. Or so I thought. Later I found a $79 fee charged to my bank account. For what? No service was provided to me. I didn't purchase anything from this website. I simply wanted to change my address because I was moving. This site is deceitful and prays upon people. I tried to call the 1-888 number to speak to someone and I was directed to leave a message.

In response to complaint submitted by ***: We are in receipt of your complaint against our company and hope to provide a resolution. Our website clearly states our services as well as our service charges, several times throughout our site. We have also clearly indicated we are a privately owned company and are in no way affiliated with any state or federal government agency, including the ***. We also indicate, should you wish to submit an address change elsewhere, government forms may be obtained at *** facilities at no charge. To provide further affirmation of our services and charges, we include a Terms and Conditions box, which you must accept before proceeding with your address change. In researching your order placed on 11/28/2019, it appears you contacted our Customer Support Center on 11/29/2019 and canceled your order for our services. The pending charge in the amount of $79.95 was voided. A copy of the voided transaction and original order was sent to the email used when ordering. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support during business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm (Mountain Standard time) toll-free at 1-888-481-9592. Again, we apologize for your negative experience and hope this provides a resolution. We hope this provides some clarification and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We look forward to helping you resolve this issue.

I went to ***.com to change my address. I completed the form and at checkout it said the change of address would be $1 charged to my debit card. Hours later I look at my account and I was charged $79.99! I looked at transaction details and see this changemyaddress.org. I have no idea how I got on that site and not ***. I called the customer support number several times and either get the message the number is out of service or it sounds like someone answers but it's silent. This is deceitful! There was never a final confirmation on the site to authorize a charge for almost $80! All I authorized a charge for was $1 which is what the *** charges and I thought I was still on their site! I want this order cancelled and a full refund of the $79.99. After going back to the site it says you can request a full refund if you are dissatisfied with no questions asked and to just call customer service but you can't call! I will also be disputing this transaction with my bank.

This company uses fraudulent type websites to get consumers to purchase an address change for 79.95. they make it to where you don't see that they are charging you that amount just for the change of address and do not put how much they're charging you when you put your card number in. also did not even provide the service they stole $79.95 from a poor family.

They host a site that is deliberately misleading, masked as an official postal service site. On the mobile site its is actually worded bluntly incorrectly. On the last page of the aledged service, it specifically states verification of $1 charge, where it then charges $79.95 and signs you up for a monthly subscription. They are uncontactable and unable to cancel the bogus subscription by any method other than writing.

While trying to update my address through USPS, I was re-directed into a scam version of what I was trying to do without realizing it. The charge for updating your address with USPS is $1, but a few weeks later I noticed I has been charged nearly $50, along with a foreign transaction fee, from a vendor called 'WWW US ADDRESS CHANGE COMBARCELONA.' I called my credit card company to dispute the transaction, and the lady who took my call noted that this was a commonly disputed charge. In the end, this scam company had successfully manipulated the legal technicalities, and my credit card company was unable to issue me a refund.

It's possible that this was not the merchant that I transacted with. Via my credit company, that company was named WWW US ADDRESS CHANGE COM. I haven't been able to actually get back to the website, even when I try to re-create the steps that took me there in the first place, so I'm not sure how to 100% verify who the responsible company was. The fact that I was also charged a foreign transaction fee makes me realize that it probably was not a domestic company.

Thanks for the help, and hopefully the information I have provided can in some way eventually help prevent other people from falling into the same trap.

Regards,

Brock Frome

Was billed 2 separate charges of $44 each for a $1 change of address form

I was looking to change my address with the postal service and this website popped up and it exactly matches the form for the postal service and they charged me $44.50 and did not tell me they would charge that much.

I thought I was on a legitimate government site to change my address with the USPS. They were very misleading and they billed me approximately 80 dollars with no price confirmation. When I called the customer service line, the line is always busy and I am never able to get through to them to cancel the charge or dispute it. Their website is very misleading and it looked like the proper site to change your address with the post office when you move. This is an absolute scam. They are essentially charging almost 80 dollars to do what you can do for a minimal fee if you are not mislead into going onto the correct USPS website. They do not provide any extra value for doing anything additional, and on top of that, instead of instantly changing your forwarding address, it can take up to two weeks for the address change. I still have to go to USPS to change my address to get forwarding set up immediately. As far as I can tell, their contact number is bogus and there is no email contact provided for direct disputes.

Went on to change address and was charged 79.95. Called to cancel and man was rude told me the charge was to change address, be on the do not call registry and transfer utilities services. It is free to change your address and be on the do not call list. I also didn’t need utilities transferred. Was told I would be credited back in 24 hours but email says 5-7 days.

Was trying to make an address change like I have in the past which only cost 1 Dollar. So I check my account after to make sure they took the 1 Dollar out and come to find out my bak account has been charged 79.00 for no reason. not once did they say I would be charged that much money for anything when I simply want my mailing address changed. This website is deceitful and misleading I would like my money back I am very upset with how sneaky this scam is.

I was misled into changing my address on this website, rather than paying the $1 service fee on the *** website. It only informs “customers” of a $79.95 fee in fine print on the bottom of the page. When I called customer service the very next day-less than 12 hours later-I was informed I could only receive a 50% refund because my change of address had already been processed-however, until I went directly the *** website myself, none of my mail was being forwarded. This business is an absolute scam and am in complete shock that they will not provide a full refund for this unfair business and false advertising by posing as the

I realized that after 5 days the post office never even received a change of address and now this company has my credit card info and old and new address. Is there anyway to get my money back?

This site poses as the official postal service site.
I went to change my address. I move a lot and change my address often. I know it's only a dollar to do so.
I file everything and it doesn't give me a price when checking out. It doesn't even send you a receipt. Somehow I spent $80 DOLLARS!
And I only knew because my bank reached out to me because they thought it was odd. When I looked up why I spent so much I came across an article about a website scam that's called "changemyaddress.org" and how they're the first thing to pop up on google and how they've scammed many people and there's over 120 (now 180) people who've filed with the Revdex.com. My husband is trying to dispute the charge with his bank right now but they want us to call the company first but it's a sunday and they're closed.
I will get my $80 back. If I have to post it on facebook and make it go viral I will. I will post on every website, every forum, anywhere and everywhere I can to drag this company through the mud and get my money back.
$80 DOLLARS TO CHANGE MY ADDRESS WHEN ITS $1 ON THE OFFICIAL SITE.
OUTRAGEOUS!

The organization has said they will refund out money and we have recieved a confirmation email a few days ago but there has been no pending refund yet. I understand it can take 5-7 business days for thr refund to come through but we should see it processing at least. Contacted my bank and they can't find anything. I'm not saying they're not actually refunding me but I won't say its resolved until the money is in my account or at least shows it's processing.

I have changed my address in the past with *** for $1.05 and this time I had little time, just *** address change, clicked on the link and filed the change in address. I was surprised to see a $44 charge on my credit card! My girlfriend is software Engineer, I'm an Engineer too. Our lives are busy and we both fell for this scam business that should be removed from *** as a top entry when *** change in address. This company charges $44 for a change in address which only costs $1.05 when you file with *** online. We can kick ourselves for not paying better attention but now it is too late. Be warned about this SCAM business! This company preys on people who have little time and make mistakes. It is shameful!

I wnated to change my address using *** servives. This web site aparently appeared to be the right place to do it. I found that I will be charge 1 dollar for the change of my address. The page uses false advertising and lack of information about the real price you will pay. My card was charges with 79.95 which alerted the anti fraud department and locked it. I was terribly affected during my trip in Dallas :(

So I'm a college grad and know how to read and I made a mistake and went to changemyaddress.org to change my address when I thought I was going to the USPS. I called and spoke to a fellow named Paul in customer service and he was very kind and patient and after a few minutes he refunded everything to me except the $1.95 to change my address. I don't see a scam I see a company that has utilized Internet marketing to provide a service. The fellow on the phone was courteous and refunded me for the things I did not want.

Lesson: Read :)

The website changemyaddress.org comes up during a google search under the guise of being a simple *** change of address form. Once the form is filled in, the pop-up screen reports that the charge is $1.00 received by the *** for the change. The charge is actually $79.95 (not printed on the emailed confirmation receipt) and after reading the fine print, there is also an automatic monthly membership fee if the service isn't cancelled.

The service is a scam, aimed to rob people who just want to change their address of $80 and then some (if you don't notice you'll be charaged AGAIN in 30 days).

The customer service line has not returned my call, though I am aiming to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

This company needs to be shut down. It’s ridiculous that put the cost in their fine print. I am so upset and I plan on filling charges against these scam artists. The customer service with this company is horrible. Who charges 44 dollars to change a address!!!!

Scam, who puts their cost of services in fine print? Oh ya scammers who are fishing where the service only costs a dollar through ***.

A total Scam. Read the fine print or you'll be out $80 as well as opted into a monthly subscription for $59 each month. People who work here should be ashamed.
