This web address is a scam. When I try to find a customer service number to contact it only links to the main page to change your address. I was expecting to pay $1.00 to change my mailing address and woke up with a charge of $39.95. At no where does it say what you are being charged and should not be allowed to be the first thing to show up on *** searches. This is a scam and stay away.

thought this was a legitimate *** website, especially with the .org address.
They charge $79.95 for change of address service. *** charges $1.05
I called to cancel the charge and was told (automated) that I would see a reversal of charge to my card in several business days.
I hope this happens.
This is a scam and I fell for it.

Hi ***. We apologize for the misunderstanding. While we are not the ***, we did submit a Change of Address request to the *** on your behalf. As part of our fee, we also include many other services, such as notifying additional organizations of your move, registering your number on the National Do-Not-Call Registry, and more. Nevertheless, we have a money back satisfaction guarantee. As requested, we have canceled and voided your account. Because we were able to complete this cancellation within a short period of time after the order was placed means we were able to void the order before your credit card was ever charged for any actual fees. That means the charge you see on your statement is only a temporary authorization and hold on your credit card and because we were able to void and cancel the transaction before any final charges occurred, you should see that temporary transaction disappear from your statement within 3-5 business days.Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you have any further questions, please call us at 1-844-736-7759.Respectfully,Customer Support Team

This company misrepresented itself and did not fully or clearly
disclose that they charge 79.95 to file change of address. I was
lead to believe that this was governing body and not a per profit
corporation! This is a crazy charge and I do not feel like I knowingly
consented to these charges. I also was in the middle of completing the form, and attempted to 'go back' to make changes during the application, without clicking submit, filing or completing any process. I immediately received a fraud alert text message from my bank, notifying me of the attempted transaction in which I was completely unaware. I attempted to contact the business and was hung up on twice, once learning I was calling to dispute the charge, without any customer service assistance. Highly unsatisfactory and alleged wrongdoing.

ChangeMyAddress.org is a total scam. I wanted to change my address and after being charged the 79.99, I went back and realized that this was just the first link on ***. I thought I was dealing directly with ***. I was only supposed to be charged $1. Before confirming, they ask if you want to be placed on a "do not call list", etc. Never did they mention that it would cost me 79.99! When you are brought to the confirmation page, there is no charge listed at all. After I did the change of address, I checked my bank-as I always do-and realized I was scammed and my bank was charged 79.99. That was all done on February 6, 2020 and we are now at March 18, 2020 and I have yet to receive a single piece of mail. After that, I decided to file a complaint for being scammed on here and I am seeing how many people have fallen prey to the misinformation and that the company knew they were misleading us to gain 79.99 versus the $1 the post office charges.I guess I will see after calling today, if they will even change my address or give my money back? Especially since my services were never rendered! If they do not refund me, I will dispute this transaction through my bank...this s a lot of money to some people, particularly after just incurring moving and storage, etc fees. I feel extremely uncomfortable that such a dishonest people now have all of my personal information! After calling the actual ***, I found out they never even received the change of address!!! *** told me when you go through them, it does not even change all mail-only things like first class, etc. (Which is also not on the changemyaddress.org page).

We are also including a screenshot of the confirmation message from the *** for you to review.Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. This company stole money from me. I was charged $79.95 on my card and am still awaiting a refund. On top of that, I looked this morning and they already charged my card $9.95. I’ve spoken to two of their representatives and have demanded a full refund. If this isn’t delivered to my account promptly I’ll take whatever steps I can in terms of police or higher powers to ensure my account is restored.

Absolute scam. Nowhere did I see a price to change my address so I was thinking it was the usual $1.05, turns out it's $79.95, I should have looked at the website I was on instead of not paying attention trying to change my address. This company misrepresented itself and nowhere was it clear that they charge $79.95 for their "services". I do not feel I actually consented to these charges.

They DO NOT disclose their pricing! I did a quick google search to change my address and I thought I was using the *** sites. I completed my transaction and was only given a confirmation number. There was never any pricing listed! Who would actually pay $79.95 to change their address?? When I checked my bank account a few days later, I saw a pending charge of $79.95! I then realized that it was some outside company. After another search I came across all of these complaints. I called and spoke to a customer service rep and he at first offered me a 50% refund. I demanded a full refund due to their lack of honesty and full disclosure. He then offered to refund $78! To which I still demanded my entire amount. He eventually obliged and said I would be getting a call from his "manager" so I could voice my complaints. This "manager" contacted me via text message! Concluding that this company is run by unprofessional liars! This site needs to be shut down!

I searched "*** change address" on *** and selected the first search option that came up. The website looked official and at least similiar to the *** website so it didn't raise any red flags. The company did not clearly state how much they were charging before or after my payment info was added. The fee of $79.95 is listed in very small font at the bottom of the initial page. I knew the *** charges a very nominal amount for change-of-address so this also did not raise a red flag that they were asking for payment info. When I called the company to cancel my "order" and refund the charges, they gave me a very hard time about it, initially stating that they couldn't refund it fully, only 50%. When I insisted, they dropped it down to charging me $9.95; I insisted again, they dropped it to $1.95; and so on until they finally agreed to cancel my order fully and refund $79.95. I feel like this company is clearly taking advantage of people by paying to make sure they come up first in search engine results, getting unsuspecting people to click on their link and be misled by their page into thinking they've reached the *** site. Their exorbitant fee is also hidden in the fine print of their page, which is also really misleading. I think this company has found a loop hole to scam consumers.

They charge you $80 then you call and they don't want to give you a refund. They aee horrible and customer service is terrible!!

Didn't give a full refund until I threatened calling police.

Change My Address is a total scam. It's my fault really, for not paying more attention I guess.

I wanted to change my address, this was the first link on google (should have gone with *** directly). I was only supposed to be charged $1. Before confirming, they ask if you want to be placed on a do not call list, reduce junkmail, ect. There is NO MENTION of a fee associated with checking these boxes. In fact, when you are brought to the confirmation page, there is no charge listed at all. I realized right as I clicked "confirm" that something felt off. I checked my bank and had an $80 charge. Of all of the things to worry about while in the process of moving and purchasing a home, now I have to deal with this.

I called and got a customer service rep named Danny (allegedly) who told me they could only refund half the charge. Um, what? A charge I never agreed to make in the first place? I told him I already disputed the charge with my bank and if it was not reversed they would deny it. He then told me, okay, he'd reverse the charge and only charge me for the $1 address change (all I wanted in the first place). Who knows if they'll even change my address or give my money back. I'll wait a few days for the refund and if it does or does not come, I'll cancel and order a new card. I feel extremely uncomfortable that such a dishonest "company" even has all of my info now. Awful business practice. Clearly a scam.

I was looking to change my address with *** and somehow ended up on the wrong site. I thought I was changing my address through *** and did not see any fee listed on the website for changmyaddress.org. I filed a dispute with my bank but the paperwork that changemyaddress sent to my bank now shows the price. I never saw the $79.95 charge I was having to pay and thought my credit card information was going to the $1 charge *** takes. The site is misleading, even with what appears to be clearer pricing as it's listed as "Special New Mover COA Package for Only $79.95" which makes it seem like there's a package you can purchase separate from the change of address. I don't know what else they offered as it mentions coupons and changing address with other businesses etc. My credit card was also compromised a couple weeks after this resulting in my bank issuing a new card to me. I can't say that it is from this website but wanted to mention in case anyone else had the same issue.

This company is a complete sham. I thought I was changing my address with the ***. This company it the top hit in the search (shame on you google) and I thought I was changing my address with ***. I absolutely would not have consented to $80 for a $1 service. This is highway robbery. I called to request a refund and the company refused. Not only that, it sounded like it was being operated out of someone's house - there were children screaming in the background. This sham of a company also gave my credit card information to another company. I feel I am owed a full refund because I genuinely thought I was changing my address with the *** and not this scam.

TOTAL SCAM!!! I accidentally clicked on this website while trying to change my address on the *** website and didn’t even think about double checking the URL. It seemed weird once my money processed and I got the order confirmation which brought me here. Long story short, I called at least 5 times determined to get my money back and once I finally got ahold of someone they gave back 50% of the $80 charge. My mom is an extremely good negotiator in times like these so she called them and demanded the rest be refunded or she’d turn them in and the rep in particular. I got all but $1.95 back, but now I have to watch my account for additional fraudulent charges. Save yourself the headache and just use the *** website.. or if you’re like me double check your in the right place.

I came to this site to change my address. Normally that cost is $1.00. I went on my bank app and found out I was $79.95! When I put my info in, I was never told that I would be charged that amount! I called them and talked to a lady, she told me I could be refunded 50%. I was like no! Then she went all the way down to $9.95. Then she said it would take 24 to 48 hours to refund my $70.00!

This is a total scam. It is NOT the Post Office and they are not at all sorry for the "misunderstanding" as they claim. It is a pure and simple scam. Happily, I have changed addressed before and I know the Post Office charges $1.05 not $79.95 as these con artists do. Reversed with my bank immediately. This place should be shut down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just fell for this like many others here, and I did not even press the button to process my card! Now I have an immediate $79.95 pending charge on my card. I immediately called the number to cancel and the person who kept answering the phone talked over me as though she could not hear my voice. I've reported them to Mastercard and requested a refund by email, as no one will 'hear' me on the phone- which sounds like it is being forwarded to a daycare.
