Review: Chase taking over a year to approve short sale of property. Potentially putting my property into foreclosure due to the length of the process.

In June of 2014 I put my property in the market as a short sale. I purchased the property in 2007 when the market was much higher. I had tried renting the property to cover the mortgage payments but I was losing money monthly and I could not afford the upkeep/repairs needed to be a decent landlord to a potential renter so I decided to try and sell when my past renters lease was up and they decided to move out. I received a cash offer with in 2 days of being on the market. I have two mortgage lenders. [redacted] and Chase. [redacted] is my first lender for which I owe approximately 130,000. Chase is my second lender to which I owe approximately 21,000. The offer was for 110,000. We accepted the offer and proceeded in completing paperwork to receive approval to short sale. I received approval from [redacted] in November of 2014. I did not receive approval from Chase and my buyer dropped out in February of 2015. Chase will not give approval and seemingly loses paperwork and claims that we haven't turned things in that are required. My attorney, my realtor and myself have all turned in paperwork repeatedly to no avail. We have all called repeatedly to check in the status only to be told conflicting stories and I was once told to stop calling that it won't make the process any faster. My buyer backed out in February as mentioned and within 2 days I received another offer for the property however it is not a cash offer. This buyer is potentially going to walk soon if we do not receive approval with in a reasonable about of time. I just contacted Chase again today and was told that my file has been declined due to paperwork not being turned in. I started crying and asked them what I was supposed to do because we have done everything that has been asked. They said that once the paperwork is received that it will go back to a negotiator but I am not sure how I can make them receive and not lose the paperwork when we have been struggling with this for a year.

I am at a loss. My first lender has threatened to change the locks on the property. I explained to them that it is under contract and they said they wouldn't move forward in doing that but what if they change their minds as this drags on? I do not want to have to foreclose but if I can not get approval and buyers keep dropping out why would any further potential buyer even want to touch putting in an offer for my property knowing that sales keep falling through. As I just wrote, I really don't want to have to go through with a foreclosure.

I don't know where else to turn. I don't understand why a bank would seemingly choose foreclosure over a short sale. They never communicate the status of the sale with me and I even received information via internal Chase website message stating that they tried to contact me at a phone number which was not mine. I have had the same phone number associated with the file since 2007 when I purchased the property

I just want this to be over and to sell the property. We are paying the utilities, cutting the grass and dealing with minor upkeep that has to take place.

I want to move forward in the sale of my property. I am not looking for anything further. Thank you!Desired Settlement: I want approval to sell the property. I cannot afford the upkeep on it and cannot afford the mortgage any longer.

Review: In Nov. 2012 I, in good faith, contacted Chase to set up a deferred repayment plan for 1 month of my mortgage. At that time I was informed that by adhering to the terms of the agreement my credit would remain in tact and late fee's would cease until the plan was paid in full or unless I defaulted on the plan. In late December I started receiving harassing phone calls and letters regarding my account, even though I was making my agreed payments on time and in full. I contacted Chase and found out that regardless of the agreed plan and my upholding my terms, they were still reporting to my credit and charging late fee's. I continued to make the agreed payments on time until I could pay off the plan in February. I did not miss a payment and upheld all of the terms of the plan outlined to me. Considering there was a agreed repayment contract in place, and it was upheld, I feel that Chase is responsible for doing the same on their end and upholding their side of the plan. The agreement does NOT state that credit activity will continue, it only states that the credit agencies will be reported to in the case of my defaulting on the agreement, which did NOT happen.Desired Settlement: As I feel that Chase did not uphold their end of the agreement, as I did so, I am requesting that all negative activity on my credit as well as all late fee's during that period be removed from my account. I have contacted a attorney as well in regards to having this agreement reviewed and to work with me to ensure that Chase honors their end of the agreement as well as corrects all damage done to my and my husbands credit.

Review: I made a request to cancel Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) on my home mortgage in April 2014. Rec'd letter from Chase outlining process. I had questions so I called them on 5/28/14. I was on the phone for 37 minutes unable to get an answer to a simple question. Finally I requested to speak with supervisor. She was very courteous but also did not know answer. Turns out the PMI department does not have direct line or way to contact them directly. She said she would follow up. She called me during a particularly busy week and I was unable to return the call immediately. I have now left two more voice messages and gotten no response [redacted]). So nearly a month after my call I am no closer to getting a response to a simple question. My question: Their paperwork states I must order an appraisal, to be done by a Chase Broker Price Opinion. Fine. There is a $110 fee (she was not sure about this) and the cost of the appraisal, up to $1000. I told them I would like a closer approximation of appraisal cost BEFORE ordering it since in my experience an appraisal on a house my size should cost in the $350-400 range, not more.Desired Settlement: I want my question answered. I do not want to go back and forth leaving messages. I want the fee and an approximation of appraisal cost in writing before ordering it.

Review: We started two weeks ago, and the real estate got in touch with Chase regarding my loan. They released it right away by fax. We are not trying to get the pay off from the home equity loan and we keep getting the run around. They keep saying they will fax it in a couple of hours and they never do. I have tried calling and they won't even pick up the phone it just keeps ringing and ringing. It rang at least 12 times and no one answered. I don't know what to do we are wanting to close and we can not close.Desired Settlement: I just want them to fax this information to the title company in Union and then we are going to pay them off.

Review: On 6/25/14 [redacted] paid $4,365.60 to purchase the house and land at [redacted]. There is no existing mortgage on the property and Chase took possession in August of 2012 for $0.00. [redacted], South Carolina's Assessors office is waiting for Chase to send the deed to transfer title but neither the Assessor's office nor I have received a response or the deed from Chase and it has been more than a month.Desired Settlement: Please send the deed to the [redacted], SC Assessors Office.

Review: I do not feel as if my time is valued by J.P. Morgan Chase and so I will now solicit the attention of the News Media, the SEC , the Senate Oversight Committee on Banking & Regulation to start. I am a victim of Flagrant Negligence and Fraud that is being perpetrated against me and I am now wondering if this is how the JP Morgan Chase Leadership intends to establish growth nationally as well as Globally.

Each year I have to battle with Chase Mortgage division to prove that I have Insurance Coverage on my property. Each year the Insurance Carrier for the Development sends out the information to confirm that the property has sufficient coverage. I have a second mortgage on the property and each year it is a battle to get your departments to speak with each other to recognize that the property has sufficient coverage that is satisfied on the first mortgage and also covers the second mortgage. I have had numerous conversations with JP Morgan Chase employees & managers and yet this problem persists. This past summer I realized that I was “Slammed” with additional Flood Insurance coverage that I did not request nor was not necessary. I called in and had a conversation with your staff at which point they saw the error and reversed the charges. The charges were subsequently Fraudulently placed back on the account and has now resulted in a drastic shortfall in my escrow. This has now caused my mortgage to drastically increase. Is this how JP Morgan Chase expands its Portfolio? How many other individuals are being affected by these Fraudulent and Predatory tactics. I am sure that the SEC; Banking Oversight Committees and the Media will love to Investigate this situation as I have not gotten anywhere speaking to Chase. Ironically I’ve now been contacted to become a part of a class action Lawsuit against J.P.Morgan Chase. Attemps at contacting its Board & Corporate Governance have lead to No Resolution.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Complete refund & apology for Fraudulent Charges and a waste of my time.

Review: Chase put us on a 6 months "Forbearance Program" that ends December 1st, 2014. At this time they would put us on a Loan Modification Program, so that we can stay in our home. Today they sent us "Foreclosure Notice" and the "Forbearance Program" is not over with yet. Chase has set in place a SCAM. They had no plans to give us a "Loan Modification", and the government has given them the money to help home owners.

Product_Or_Service: Home Mortgage

Account_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

We want Chase to stop the "Foreclosure" and set us in a "Loan Modification Program" that we can make payments, to pay off our home loan. Chase should want to do the right thing.

Review: I have a mortgage loan with this company and have had numerous billing problems over the last 6 years or so. The most recent occurred in November of 2012 when Chase placed forced hazard insurance to my account. I have contacted them numerous times inquiring about this error. I informed their reps that I never had a lapse in my mortgage insurance company. I contacted my insurance company and they informed me that they did not send such a notice, but that they would contact my mortgage company and notify them that there was not break in coverage. I requested the notification from my insurance company that there was a lapse in coverage, they could not provide this notice because they said they didn't send it. However, they agreed to send over proof of insurance. This went on for months, in the meantime Chase was charging me for hazard insurance, interest, late payments, you name it. When the issue of my hazard insurance was cleared up, I was informed that they would correct my account from the day they charged me. That has not happened. This has been a nightmare. I've made payments trying to hold everything over until Chase corrected their error. That never happened. Several weeks ago a representative sent me a detailed history of my account with so many errors in it. She asked me to call once I received it and that someone from customer service would go over it with me. After reviewing the documents, I spoke to representatives for over 4 hours last week in an attempt to clear up the discrepancies. They kept referring me to the insurance department saying they should have cleared up my account. I spoke to the insurance department and I was told that billing should have credited the insurance and the fees. The person in billing advised me not to make a payment until everything was cleared up, I got this reference number [redacted] and was told they would reconstruct my account. But that hasn't happened.Desired Settlement: My account corrected from the date they forced the insurance on my account and credit the payments that I have made to date.

Review: I was divorced in 2006 from my exhusband. In our divorce decree, ex-husband was awarded the property and I signed a quitclaim over for this property, filed bankruptcy in May 2008 with it being discharged in September 2008. In 2011 I purchased a new home and attempted to refinance the home in September only to be advised that a negative “hit” was placed in the [redacted] system stating I had foreclosed on a loan which is untrue. My ex-husband continued paying on the loan and from according to records I have been able to ascertain, he allowed the home to go into foreclosure and signed a deed in lieu of foreclosure. I don’t understand why I’m being affected with him. If I had known that I would still be held liable for this I would have preferred to have attempted a short sale. I never signed a deed in lieu so how would it be valid. Was my signature forged? If you say that it wasn’t my property and my signature was not needed then how can you report me to the [redacted] system as being held liable for property that was not mine. It seems as though it cannot be both ways. I have had no affiliations with this property since the divorce and this is hindering me and I’m looking for Chase to assist me.Desired Settlement: I am hereby respectively requesting that you send notification to the FHA [redacted] and delete my name from being associated with this property. Your company has already received the insurance claim money on this property on 2/14/2014 for $97,087.57, no loss only gain.

Review: Chase reported me late 2 months starting 6/1/15. And again in July. For a total amount of 1648.00 my monthly mortgage is 824. THIS IS NOT TRUE THEY LIE !! No one at Chase has been helpful in any way what so ever they are rude , uncaring and very inconsiderate . They have treated me like a criminal . They do not do what they say they will do for you. They do not return phone calls . They do not care about there customers at all. Chase has treated me horribly . They do not care at all that they have destroyed my excellent credit rating that I have had all my working life. They seem to forget they were put in place to help people not destroy them. They are suppose to be working to help me . I'm paying them with interest!!! There not paying me! If I could move my mortgage to [redacted], I would do it in a minute. I'm telling everyone I know to never do business with Chase! They are unhelpful, unkind and uncaring. That kind of behavior starts at the top and trickles down. They have made horrible human errors in dealing with me.. MADE TERRIBLE ERRORS ON MY BEHALF. And they are not willing to correct any of them.Desired Settlement: Remove items from my credit report that are incorrect. Contact and correct with all 3 credit bureau's.

Review: JP Morgan (CHASE) currently holds my mortgage on my house. In November of 2012 I filled for mortgage assistance because I have was financial trouble due to a recent divorce and going form a 2 income to a one. Just need some time to get back on my feet. Then January 2013 I had lost my job and was on unemployment and was trying to save my home. Chase finally got back with me in May of 2013 and put me on 3 months no payments but then the payment ballooned at the end of the trial period. I could either may my payments each month or I had to come up with them at the end of the period. I still continued to may my payments those months but Since I had paid more that my payment and some times I paid less. It should of evened it self out by the end of the trial period. Well Chase computer did not know how to process those payments they sat in a unapplied balance account. Which then Chase report me to the Credit dept for past due balance and was also reported to the credit bureau that I did not make my mortgage payments for 3 months. Which severely damaged my credit. In this time frame I went through roughly 5 case managers and each time I would have to go through my story. I was reassured each time that it would be straightened out. March of 2014 I had to reapply for assistance They but me on another trail period where they lowered my monthly payment $70 and that was suppose to be for 3 months and then the under writers would finalize and drop my interest rate on my mortgage and I would continue with that trail period payment. My last case manage has bee [redacted]. I have called him once aweek and have not heard from him since August 4, 2014. I keep getting told that the under writers have my account and have not released. Chase does not know how to straighten out my payment mess. I have sent them numerous spread sheets showing what I have paid and they have posted. Their records and my banks records do not match. They are missing payment that they took the money but never applied to my account. I keep getting letters from their credit department stating they want to start foreclosure If my account is not brought current. I have not missed a payment and continue to pay the amount that [redacted] told me to pay which is the 862.72. or sometimes he would tell me not to make a payment until their syste3m gets cleared but then they would report that I didnt make a payment. So I just send my payment no matter what each month when it is due. Know I just got a statement in the mail still showing I'm past due but showing and unapplied balance amount and then raising my payment to $930. I have trying calling my case manager again with no answer or call back. I keep asking what they are doing to do to fix my credit score that went from a 811 to a 640 because of their errors and they say nothing. That I would have to hire a lawyer or just give it time to mend. They have me in such a spot that I cannot refinance. I cannot get loans. I am financially handicapped and about to lose everything I own do to their errors and poor service. I have even talked with my local banks and they cant even figure what Chase is doing to my account and since it shows that I am in past due (which I am not) I cannot even refinance with another bank. I am at my wits end. I have been dealing with this nightmare which is affecting my health for over 2 years. Enough is enough and Chase need to start being accountable for what they have done to my mortgage and get this fixed and my credit score restored. This is not my fault I have done everything they have told me to do. I need someone to step in and make them be accountable and fix this. I do not have money to hire a lawyer I am a 44 year old divorced women with limited income. I asked for help and all they have done is be a hindrance. Please someone make them fix this mess.....Desired Settlement: My credit restored. My account showing current and make it right with me. Credit me some months of payments for the extreme inconvenience they have bestowed on me, lower my interest rate to what they promised or release my mortgage so I can refinance with another company that would more than happy to work with me instead of the poor service that I have received from them. .

Review: I just paid off my mortgage loan with Chase and was charged $1728.54 in taxes against the loan amount at closing. I called Chase and was told I would receive a partial amount reimbursement due to the fact that I closed prior to the tax dates (7/1/13-9/1/13). I closed on 8/14/13. Today I called to ask about the reimbursement and was NOW told because it was an FHA loan that it is not reimbursable. I was expecting to receive approximately $460.94 and this is more that a little disappointing. The Chase representative today stated that I was given false information originally. I have been paying my loan for 1 year 3 months now and tried to refinance thru Chase to stay within but they could not compete with the other lenders in the market. I feel like Chase is taking advantage of me by absorbing money that is not entitled.Desired Settlement: I'd like to receive the money back that I paid at closing and was told I would recoup.

Review: Mortgage process was a debacle from beginning to end, due to incompetence of Chase employees and their repeated faillure to respond to email, text, or phone communications. I originally applied for a mortgage called a "Dream" product which provided $1500 credit for me to use toward closing costs or whatever I wanted to use it for. Halfway through this process I was told I no longer qualifed for this product, which was the main reason I was using Chase to begin with, because now they wanted a cosigner and with the cosigners income that product was no longer available to me. Once we began to see the problems we were to far into the process to change to a different bank. We were supposed to close on the house I was purchasing on 8/25/14, as that was the closing date on the house I was selling. However, at the last minute I was told Chase could not meet that date, which then caused me to incur storage fees, kennel costs as well as lost days of work. We didn't close until 9/10/14 and there were problems even up to the closing time of 11AM. The loan paper work forwarded to the closing attorney was incorrect and had to be resubmitted multiple times while all people involved were inconvenienced waiting for Chase to get it right. We didn't actually finish the closing till almost 3PM. The night before the closing I was informed that my monthly payment, which started at approximately $800 was now $923, once again too late to do anything about it. It seems that a bank the size of JP Morgan Chase could and would want to do better.Desired Settlement: I would love to hear from someone in authority regarding my complaint, and possibly be reimbursed for the expenses that incurred due to this problem

Review: Settlement made in good faith. Chase continues to report erroneous info on Credit report. Did not honor settlement agreement. Regarding account[redacted]. I settled this 2nd mortgage with CHASE in 2009. In the settlement they agreed to report the account as paid in full and not report any derogatory information on my credit report. They are reporting the account with 180 late payments from 2009-2011 when the account was closed. I called them to discuss this matter and the rep was very rude and said there was nothing she could due. I said they agreed to not report negative info and she said if I wanted the info corrected I need to dispute with the Credit reporting companies.Desired Settlement: Remove late payments from credit report or remove tradeline altogether.

Review: Case Number [redacted] GWE, Chapt. 7/Bankruptcy was filed and discharged in February 10, 2009. The Mortgage loan was never reaffirmed. We were continuing to send Mortgage payments to Chase under a unaffirmed loaned that was discharged through the courts. Chase continued to take these payments and we were never given a "Stay". We had no knowledge that payments should not have been taken under an discharged bankruptcy unaffirmed mortgage. The Mortgage account #[redacted], .Desired Settlement: We are requesting refund on every payment that was issued and Chase Mortgage received knowing we had dissolved the lien/mortage through the United States Bankruptcy Court.

Review: My home went into foreclosure in late 2012. Shortly after, I contacted a counselor who agreed to represent me before Chase and attempted to get me into a refinancing situation. The situation worked through to mid-2013, while Chase continued to pursue its foreclosure. The home was foreclosed on, and a sale of the home was to be conducted in July 2013, while we were still awaiting an answer on refinancing.

Per my counselor, Chase refused to reschedule the sale of the home without approval, but assured us that if we obtained approval, they would put off the sale. We finally received an answer just shortly before the sale that we had been denied. The sole reason for denial was that Chase had refused to cooperate with refinancing, and the program required the cooperation of the lender. The letter the government program sent out showed Chase's denial as the sole reason for turning me down.

Chase in essence played a double-hand, which was a primary contributor to losing my home. I had hoped for their cooperation, and had been led to believe I would get it if the government approved me, and I did not pursue other options such as declaring bankruptcy or obtaining legal council.

As a result, I lost the home, was subsequently evicted (a separate issue), and lost everything I owned.Desired Settlement: Chase can do nothing to bring back my home. It has treated me as poorly as it has millions of homeowners. It can, however, work with me on the issue I am currently seeking litigation on, to obtain my lost possessions back, and I would appreciate seeing some effort from them to do so.

Review: Chase is not accepted a payoff that matched the payoff statement that they provided. We are now going onto 5 days since the money was wired and tomorrow is the deadline. They state the payoff was short only because they paid property taxes when they had documentation that they accepted a netted payoff. I have a letter showing they would pay the taxes, and I paid them on pay refinance closing. They paid them the day prior to funding. With the legal documentation we have, it shows we already paid taxes, the taxes were put on an escrow hold per letter Chase provided, and the payoff money we sent matched to the penny of the payoff statement provided. The payment of taxes was Chase's servicing error and they are not completing the request in a timely manner; we feel 4 days was enough time. When I 1st started my refinance with another institution in November I called Chase to see when they would pay my taxes, as I needed to know time line for my closing. They stated they can't pay until they get the tax bill. My loan was scheduled to close on the 19th, and with 3 day right to cancel the loan would fund on the 24th. I specified that to the servicing rep. In Dane County the bills would be coming out the week we closed; thus causing the dilemma. We agreed to hold escrow, pay them at closing, and net the escrows. I was instructed to call the day the loan funded and did on the 24th. The servicing rep stated they paid taxes on the 23rd because they didn't receive the wire (of course not it was coming on 24th) and they couldn't accept the wire. After speaking to supervisor they stated they agreed it was there error and would get it rectified; now 4 business days later it is not.Desired Settlement: I want my payoff posted an if now needed back dated to Dec 31t; as the payoff is valid through that date. If they do not post the payoff by this date we the customer would owe another month of interest, which equates to about $1000. A mortgage payment would be paid by us on a mortgage that really shouldn't exist anymore, as we wouldn't want our credit affected. I was in contact with Chase for over a month, to ensure everything was in line and it was. The day of funding everything changed.

Review: Chase MTG, misrepresented the length of time for a loan application..1 month to process, even though we we're repeatedly told the loan application was approved..

As a result we had to stay in a Hotel @ our expense totaling $5700+..until the Mtg dept processed the loan..Desired Settlement: I'm asking for reimbursement for the Hotel bills, which I have documented and back up paperwork.

we did try to resolve this thru Chase with no resolution

Review: CHASE BANK IS CONSTANTLY ASKING FOR PAYMENTS EVENTHOUGH THE MORTGAGE HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL.CHASE BANK IS TRYING TO GET MONEY ILLEGALLY.I HAD RECEIVED 3 LETTERS AFTER MY MORTGAGE WAS FULLY PAID. I HAD CALLED CHASE AND DESPITE PROMISES TO NOT SEND LETTER AGAIN THEY CONTINUE. CHASE IS NOT ONLY SENDING LETTERS BUT ALSO THREATING ME TO REPORT TO COLLECTION AGENCIES.Desired Settlement: STOP LETTERS INMEDIATELY AND SEND A LETTER AKNOWLEDGING THEIR MISTAKES, APOLOGIES AND PROMISES DO NOT DO IT AGAIN.

Review: 1. It took us 2.5 months to find out that the VA could not approve the condo because of a "right of first refusal" in the condo declaration. This seems to be an obvious thing that Chase should have known would be an issue. I understand that you might not process many VA loans personally, but Chase has a dedicated VA loan section; if their purpose isn't to identify major items that could trip up a loan approval I'm not sure what their purpose might be. This delay coincided with a rise of 1.5 points in interest rates which will cause us thousands of dollars over the upcoming years.2. My credit score has dropped 52 points since I started the mortgage process with Chase. I have been careful to take no other actions to impact my credit during this process. When I found out about the score drop, I investigated and found out that Chase has pulled 5 credit inquiries on me during this process. I authorized 2 inquiries and have no idea why 5 were done. 3. The May 20 closing date I was quoted at application was a complete fantasy or fallacy from day one. That date was 45 days from application. Your internal VA processors later identified that the standard VA review period took 4-6 weeks which essentially covered that 45 period by itself. That does not account for the 2.5 weeks your staff took to get the application to the VA. It also ignores the fact that I found out approximately June 10, that only when VA approval was obtained would Chase proceed with obtaining an appraisal which would mean closing would be a minimum of 2 weeks after VA approval was obtained. The result is that even if the review had gone perfectly, we would have been a month late to close.
