Review: This letter is in regards to filing a complaint against Chase Bank. I have a Mortgage with them. They took my loan over from [redacted] Bank in Nov 2008 but per my credit report is says Chase has it since 2004 Since the change of banks there are several problems with this bank ,Listed below are my complaints,

1, They are miss applying my payments,See examples attached. I am paying extra escrow and they are not applying. it along with some payments Have sent receipt showing how much they show receivng but is not the amount applied. Want these funds back and the payments not applied to be applied

2.When I started my loan with [redacted] my loan was 227 thousand 5 years later it was 242 thousand. No one wants to explain this to me.

3. Have paid extra funds towards my escrow ,but it is not applied to any accounts please see examples. also dose not show the over payments

Suspense Accounts

As the name suggests, a suspense account is an account set up by a mortgage servicer to hold a borrower’s funds in a suspended state until it decides how to allocate them. Suspense accounts are used primarily when the borrower makWaes a partial or incomplete payment, though it can also be utilized if you overpay as well.

4.Shows many payments in suspense do not understand where these payments are going they are not and weren't short paid at any time.

Misapplication of Payments or Inaccurate Accounting

One of the duties of a mortgage servicer is to collect and process payments from the borrower. However, in some cases, a mortgage servicer may:

improperly apply funds (in violation of the terms in the mortgage contract)

ignore a grace period, and/or

fail to credit funds to the account

Bank in question [redacted] and chase Please look at all information attachedDesired Settlement: To refund the extra money or put in it the correct account and apply the payments to my loan

Review: My wife and I tried to refinance our home mortgage with Chase, since we have an existing Private Client relationship with them. According to Zillow, and according to my Realtor, our home is worth ~$450,000. However the appraiser that Chase used appraised our home at ~$300,000. This is far below the market for our house. We were told to come up with other home sales in the area- which we did- but we were told they had to be multi-family. The fact is there have not been ANY multi-family sales in the same part of town where our house is; there have only been multi-family sales on the bad side of town, and that's where the appraiser got her comp's. Both Zillow and our Realtor know the area better. I can't see why Chase can't get an appraiser who knows the area well enough to know the good side of town from the bad side of town. She didn't even take school districts into consideration, which is the main driver of real estate prices!

I have wasted MANY HOURS of my time going back and forth with Chase on this, and it's clear that they do not plan to refund my application fee. I'm fed up with the process, and I just want this resolved.Desired Settlement: Refund my $650 application fee plus the hours of my life wasted in what was supposed to be a positive experience of consolidating our debts.

Review: Chase Bank is reporting a mortgage account to the credit bureaus that is negatively affecting my personal credit report. I have requested documentation that is well within my rights as a consumer multiple times over the last 2-3 months. They have responded each time but simply with a generic form letter and have not provided any of the requested documents. I offered a compromise to them that if they are unable or unwilling (for whatever reason) even though it violates multiple laws protecting me as a consumer that as a remedy they can simply withdraw/delete the account from any and all credit bureaus that they have reported to. They have not taken this compromise either as I checked my credit right before filing this complaint.Desired Settlement: At this point I want the account to be removed from any and all credit bureaus that Chase Bank has ever reported to regarding me. If they had the proper documentation to provide to follow the laws they would have already provided it to me when I first made my lawful request over 2 months ago. I want to have some closure on this and simply put it behind me. Thank you in advance for your help!My Best,[redacted]

Review: September 18, 2014 I called the company for a pay off of a home loan. They told $5,437.95. I called my bank to have the bank wire the money to pay off the loan. My bank did the pay off of $5,438.00. Chase called me and said it wasn't the right amount of pay off and they are sending back the money. Now they want $1,400.00 more. [redacted] from Chase said I would have to look into it. He said there were fees. He couldn't let me know what he fees were.Desired Settlement: I called and got the pay off amount. I paid that amount. If there are any addition fees I need to see them in writting.

Review: I am trying to pay off a home equity loan. the payment was sent in on 4/6/15 without an account number however my name and address was included. Chase did not send the check back until 5/6/15. I called to try to obtain the correct address and have the fees removed as now it showed the payment was delinquent. I spoke with customer service and two supervisors(one whom put me on hold so that I would stop talking and she could come back and finish her sentence, very unprofessional). I was told I would have to receive the payoff in writing which would take approximately 5-7 days. IN the meantime Chase will continue to accrue interest and penalties. I just want to pay the original amount I was quoted 7983.49 as that is only fair as this was due to them not processing the check when it was mailed.Desired Settlement: I just want them to accept the original quote of 7983.49 and close the account as paid in full.

Review: Because of an accounting error on the part of a Chase employee I am now fighting to keep my home from foreclosure.

I have a mortgage with [redacted] Chase and in 2010 I suffered a loss of income and fell behind on my payments. I reached out to Chase and they placed me on a repayment plan for one year to pay a higher monthly payment, in which the overage would go towards the balance I owed. I paid every month faithfuly. However; there was one month in 2011 (July I believe)that I scheduled a payment to be directly debited from my account by the due date. I scheduled it so early that I forgot I did so and to make sure I was not mistaken, I called chase and asked if they can confirm whiether or not I had scheduled the payment with them. The rep was not able to speak english very well but spoke with a very deep foreign acsent. She told me that I had not schedlued a payment but I but to myself that I must have because that is unlike me to forget until the last day. So after asking her several times she assured me she did not have payment from me. I asked what if there was a payment scheduled and she just couldnt see it and she informaed me that was not possible. Hesistant, I made a debit card payment with her and ended the call. Two days later my account was negative for over a thousand dollars and I incured bounced check fees of over $100 because Chase double debited my account. As it turns out I had scheduled the payment and forgot that I did that and the rep took a second payment because she said I had not scheduled a payment. I did not feel confident speaking with the rep because she had a very hard time understanding what I was talking about and it was almost as if she was new to doing her job. When I saw the overage in my account I was highly annoyed and called chase again and to my surpise I was connected to the SAME REP that posted my payment. I informed her of the situation and she said there was nothing she can do. I asked her to cancel the double payment and put the money back for the double charge but her reply was that "The money is owed and we don't give back payments". My point to her was that they recieved the payment but the second charge was a mistake because of the information she gave me. I wanted her to reverse the payments until the following month and thus I may have been able to have my bank remove the overage charges on my account. I was not getting anywahere with her and she refused to let me speak to her manager so I hung up without getting any help. I called back a few days later and spoke to an english speak rep and asked if there was anything I can do. He informed me that he couldnt reverse the charges but he will talk to his supervisor about my repayment plan still being in effect. After a while they assured me that my repayment was still in effect and to continue making the payments. In December of 2011 I called to make a payment again and asked the rep about my repayment plan and was told I'm almost towards the end of it and that February 2012 was the last payment. In February of 2012 I called to make my payment and a very nice lady said to me "Oh this is your last payment for your repayment plan and so in March you will resume you regular payments". That made me SO HAPPY. In March I called to make my normal payment and was told by the rep that I couldnt make my payment because I owe 3 months payment, I told him thats inpossible because I just repaid the 2 months I owed through the repayment plan. He then informed me that my repayment plan was cancelled back in July of the previous year because of a payment that did not go through. I explained the situation to him but he told me it was nothing he could do. I was referred to collections for foreclosures. Every since then I have submitted many documents several times in hopes of a modification but was denied twice because of income. I recieved even more income and they still said they need more. it has been a year. I feel this was Chase's error and IDesired Settlement: I know I can afford my previous mortgage payments even if Chase does not want to modify my loan. I believe if they were to actually check their records they would see I paid every month on my repayment plan. I would like a reinstatement of my loan at my previuos monthly payment if I cannot recieved a modification, I would also like the late fees and attorneys fees incurred over this to be drop from my account because it was not an error on my part since I fulfilled the repayment plan so the fees

Review: We were late last oct 2013 with our mortgage payment and we called in and made arrangements for that month and we told it would affect us that month only. then to fins out chase if reporting us late 6 month on our credit reports. act, nov,dec 2013 and jan, feb, march of 2014. when I called and talked to hem and complained they changed the credit report so oct and nov of 2013 are ok and we were late dec 2013 and jan feb and march of 2014 , this is not correct at all and affecting our credit history and we cannot purchase a vehicle or anything. I have asked them to correct this cause we were not late in nov,dec of 2013 and were not late jan, feb and march 2014, I have called and each time get different answer and each time they give me to another person. they need to correct this and not lie and mis lead their customers . our loan number is [redacted].Desired Settlement: our credit reports restored to ok for all months mentioned above. as we should not have had credit reporting that was bad from chase for all these month and we are not happy about this pelase ahve this coorrected for these months for me [redacted] and husband [redacted] and on our credit reports, transunion, exqifax and experian thank you

Review: I started a refinance process in February 2013, the representative I spoke with told me he would waive the application fee until closing. In March he called me and ask for my debit card number because the loan could not go through until the fee was paid. In April I recieved a packet of information that stated the loan was denied, I emailed him about it he said there was a processing error on their part, and I would still go through if he regenerated a loan number and he would give me a discount on the closing cost for my trouble, which I agreed to... He said we should be closed in 30 days. 5 weeks later I had not heard anything from them so I emailed them again asking if there was anything else they needed from me and what was the hold up? I never got a response to that email, A month after that email I went down to the bank so see what was going on. He told me that the loan was put on hold because I was unresponsive, I ask him how I could be unresponsive when I was never contacted and I had even ask if there was anything they needed from me and they never responded to me. So I ask to cancel the loan and refund my application fee, he said only his manager could approve that so he would email him and I should hear back from him later that day or the day after, over a week passed and suprise suprise I was never contacted again to I emailed the manager. Who called me then next day while I was sleeping I called him back two days later got a voice mail left a message and have not heard back from him since.

Product_Or_Service: Mortgage refinanceDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

Since the only reason I agreed to the refinance was because I was told that the application fee would be waived until closing and closing never happened... I want my money for my application fee back, this is the worst experience I have ever had with a bank.

Review: My ac unit was stolen in summer of 2012 and my insurance company, Farm Bureau, issued a check for the claim to Chase and Chase to this day has not replaced my ac unit. They received the check but never replaced the unit that was stolen.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my unit that was stolen to be replaced asap. The insurance money they were paid was supposed to be used for that purpose not just collected. I have no ac unit to cool my home. I am using a window unit that is not sufficient for my family and I.

Review: Approximately between March 2011 and October 2011, I was not able to pay my mortgage because of job layoff. But since November 2011, when Workers' Compensation started giving me my benefits, I paid all late fees and charges connected with this mortgage, and stay current with my payments up to this date. However, Chase keeps my credit report as "no status" and therefore my credit standing stays under "Potentially Negative Items or Items for Further Review."Desired Settlement: I would like Chase to submit a current status of my mortgage standing to reflect current status on my credit report.Chase has to start updating my credit report status because I have been current and never late with my payment since November 2011.

Review: I received an Email from [redacted] of Chase stating that I had excellent credit and they would offer a good rate on refinancing my home. They asked for a deposit of $475 as a down payment to insure I would not back out of the loan process. I received copies of my credit score from them shortly after making the application for refinancing. After a lengthy process of providing all of the information, they denied the loan t stating that it was because I had a less than perfect Credit Report. I had asked them if they weren't sure about the loan, to not do pay to do inspection. I didn't want to loose my deposit. I was assured through a number of Emails that they would refund my deposit. It has been weeks and they still haven't retured my deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my deposit back as I was promised by their representative, Sam [redacted].

Review: Yesterday March 27, 2013, we have received a FedEx envelope from Chase. Enclosed you will find the first initial letter that was enclosed in the packet of information. Highlighted in the first paragraph you will note the first sentence “Your mortgage payment is now 30 days or more past due and your mortgage loan are in default, but assistance is available”.

I have since contacted Chase and spoke to [redacted] which stated to me that the account is current in default for a 5.00 payment, however at the same time my Husband [redacted] had another representative on the line from Chase named [redacted] who indicated that my loans are current and the next payment is due April 1st for the draft to occur on April 10th for 1,636.95.

Can someone please tell me who is correct? I have never contacted Chase to request any information on a loan modification other than information on forbearance because my husband was out of work. I opted not to accept the forbearance but yet I am still getting calls from one of your representative regarding paperwork. Please have [redacted] stop calling me!

Since your representative are not on the same I am requesting all contact through Chase, myself or husband be done in writing. I am also requesting a letter indicating that my credit is current with Chase I would like this letter to show date’s. According to [redacted] my credit was affected and now I was a letter to show that it is not. I refused to pay to have my credit pull per your request from [redacted]. It is not my responsibility to make sure your representatives are knowledgeable of the information they are to provide to your customers and to call and be told two different things is unacceptable.

Also, my online access has been revoke due to me contacting Chase regarding information about the unemployment forbearance I would like this reinstated as soon as possible. Again please do not contact me further more of any modification programs unless you have one to lower my current interest rate.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter showing all dates that my account was past due and a current letter to advised me that Chase reported my account incorrectly to the credit. I would like a letter also advising me that my account is current and the dates it was current.

Review: I refinanced my house and closed on 10/30. The new lender paid my property tax bill on 11/5 and funds were excepted by tax commissioner. I received my escrow reimbursement from chase less the amount for property tax payment, according to the statement it was payed on 10/05. The [redacted] county Tax Commissioners Office informed me that those funds were not available from chase till 11/6, so they were sent back to Chase. I called Chase on 11/13 to get a refund and had to file a reimbursement claim, which I did, and they said it will take 14 days to process. I called on 11/18 to follow up and there records show that the tax office sent back funds but they haven't received them yet and it will be 3 to 4 weeks before I see a refund.Desired Settlement: If Chase knows the error was done they should just refund me my escrow immediately. This isn't in any part my fault yet money that I intrusted to them to pay my property taxes is not being refunded to me in a timely fashion. They were quick to cash the funds for my refinance, so they can use some of that to give me back what they owe me. A thirty day turn around isn't in my book a timely refund.

Review: I am writing this letter because I applied for a loan modification through Chase in the beginning of July 2013. I sent all the required documents that were asked of me in a timely manner and worked with my Loan representative ([redacted]) almost every day to get him the information that was needed.

On August 19, 2013 I received papers through the mail stating that I was approved for the loan modification and was to start a trial period. I was very excited that day to know I was able save my home.

On or about September 20, 2013 I received another letter in the mail stating that my loan was now sold to [redacted] and that they will be my new Mortgage servicer. I was told at that point that I needed to apply for a new Loan modification. I was very confused because I was approved through Chase so I called Chase and was told that I would not need to reapply. They stated that my approved program should transfer to [redacted] Finance. I was told to make my first trial payment of $1,404.16 on October 1st, 2013 to [redacted].

I called [redacted] many times and kept being directed to my Loan representative ([redacted]) and left numerous messages with him but he would not return my phone calls in a timely manner. When he did finally call I was working and I was not able to answer the phone.

On October 1st the day my payment was to be made I called at least 4 or 5 times to make my first payment to Selene. I finally got a hold of someone ([redacted]l) and explained to him that I was calling to make a payment and he first told me that I had to send in a cashier’s check. After he spoke to his Supervisor he then told me that I would have to reapply again for a loan modification through [redacted] because they will not honor the modification through Chase because they do not participate through the HAMP program.

I was very upset and confused as to why my loan was sold/transferred to [redacted] after it took me a long time to gather all the information I needed for Chase to be approved and immediately after I was approved they sold my loan. I don’t understand why I should have to reapply and send all the information all over again.

I am a young Hispanic mother and I feel disgusted that your organization will make me take so much time and effort to apply for the HAMP program to only pull it away once I am approved. These are the horror stories I hear about on the news all the time regarding large banks but I never thought it would happen to me. I do not want to lose my home and they are fighting against me. I am writing you this letter so that you can rectify this matter. If not, I will reach out to media outlets, Government officials or anyone else who will hear my story.Desired Settlement: I would Like Chase to buy back my loan so that I can have my home again and start to make my Monthly payments. I do not want to have to reapply with [redacted] Finance after I was already approved for a loan modification.

Review: 1. Applied for home mortgage loan on 08/08. When I applied, I told them that I opened a checking account recently but Chase closed it without giving any reason. I was assured that would not be a problem for the loan.

2. Got a pre-approval and rate lock immediately...

3. Got a full loan approval email ~08/18 which is needed to remove loan contingency on home purchase agreement

4. After all the work and going back and forth on loan amount and terms, got an email on 09/03 that loan is approved fully and that the lenders will be sent to escrow officer on 09/04.

5. On 09/04 morning, I got an email that my loan is denied as the integrity department flattened the loan and they did not give me any more information.

6. When I pressed, I am told the checking account issue is the reason.

I'm supposed to close the escrow on 09/05 and Chase denied my loan on 09/04. As a result, I had to renegotiate with the seller on PITI charges and had go through a lot of stress in the negotiation process. I ended up paying 5500$ to the seller due to extension for closing the escrow and lost 560$ that I paid to Chase. It is the worst nightmare that any home buyer can imagine and Chase caused this problem to me without any mistake from my end (Have excellent credit and got the 980K loan from Ever bank with in 2 weeks after Chase denial!!!)!

1. All the loan approvals mean nothing.... Then why Chase has to give me all those approvals.... Why not deny the application right away....

2. Chase did not show any moral values and responsibility in reviewing my application. All I got was

3. I have asked for escalation to look into what my checking account issue was? And I was ready to provide any proof needed that there is nothing wrong on my end!

3. Completely unethical business practice and did not honor all the loan approvals they have been providing all along the process.Desired Settlement: Need a sincere apology for Chase's mistake and unethical business practice causing a major problem for me (I was at the verge of losing the home I wanted to buy!)

Give me the reason why my checking account is closed?

Pay me the amount I lost (5500$ paid to the seller for extension and 560$ paid for Chase application) due to last minute denial of the loan?

Review: I have a Home Equity Line with Chase and have had it for many years.

I make the minimum payment PLUS ADDITIONAL PRINCIPAL REDUCTION PAYMENT EVERY MONTH.

For many years, they would process my payment and my balance on this loan was going down.

Now, they have changed how they process my payments and so the EXTRA MONEY that I send every money does not go to PRINCIPAL REDUCTION - but they say now to PREPAID INTEREST!! My loan Balance on my home has not gone down in YEARS!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EVER PAY OFF MY HOME IF THEY WILL NOT CORRECTLY APPLY THE MONEY THAT I SEND?

I cannot get CHASE To FIX THIS ISSUE.Desired Settlement: I want CHASE To go back and RE-APPLY all the money that they have MISALLOTED TO PREPAID INTEREST AND APPLY IT TO THE PRINCIPAL on this LOAN.

Review: I switched insurance on my mortgage. They credited 3300 back to Chase to be applied to my escrow. Somehow Chase screwed it all up and in ONE day told me I am 2 months past due on payments. I have a chase checking account that automatic payments (plus 400 extra to principle) come out. They started harassing me, robo calling me, interrupting me at work, and I spent 3 days of work trying to help this incompetent bank fix their errors. I have been hung up on, sent to busy signals, not followed up on. I escalated this through 10 people at least. The last person said the buck stops here. He was supposed to call me today, and no call. I have had letters saying that chase is reporting me to a credit agency, and foreclosing on my home. I am in the army, and in the process of getting a security clearance. I have threatened to go to the media, and they still are not helping me resolve this. The crazy thing is, it is all their internal error, I have done nothing wrong and in one day I am being told I am losing my home, being reported for 2 months of non-payment, even though they direct withdraw and have had to be embarrassed and harassed at work and been treated rudely, and not followed up with. Chase should be ashamed treating a member of the military like this let along anyone... no one should be put through the hell I have and they continue not to follow up.Desired Settlement: Someone needs to 1) fix my account and reapply my payments you somehow misplaced, 2) replace my escrow 3) refund my overage on escrow 4) do a escrow re-analysis, and 5) compensate me for lost work time.

Review: This letter is written in response to false information provided by Chase loan specialist [redacted]. I phoned Chase on August 11, 2014 and requested to remove the PMI from loan #[redacted]. Mr. [redacted] told me that I would need to show that the loan to value was better than 20% equity or less than 80% loan, which I believe is currently true. I asked Mr. [redacted] how to go about doing the appraisal and getting PMI removed, and he told me to order an appraisal and fax it to [redacted] I asked if Chase needed to send their own appraiser out, and he said NO. Mr. [redacted] said I could have the appraisal done on my own and fax it in, and they would review my appraisal upon receipt, and then they would let me know if the PMI would be waived. I followed Mr. [redacted]’s instructions and had a licensed appraiser perform an appraisal on the property, and paid $500 for this appraisal. I faxed the appraisal to [redacted] on August 29, 2014. I phoned Chase again today and asked if the appraisal had been received. I was informed by Ms. [redacted] that the process to remove PMI previously outlined by Mr. [redacted] was not correct and I should never have ordered the appraisal myself. Additionally, Ms. [redacted] stated that the fax number [redacted] was not a correct fax number either, so there was no record of the appraisal being received by Chase. Now, I am completely frustrated and in disbelief at the conflicting information and lack of professionalism demonstrated by Mr. [redacted] when he gave me completely false and wasteful information. I specifically asked about how the process worked and if Chase needed to send their own appraiser out to assess the value of the property and he consciously gave me false information and wasted my time and money, and also did nothing to assist me in the reason for my call, to actually request to have the PMI removed. I am requesting a credit to the balance of the loan for at least $500 to make up for the money spent having an appraisal done.Desired Settlement: $500 credit to my mortgage account balance for the money spent on an appraisal as erroneously instructed to be ordered by Mr. [redacted]. Also, please train staff such as Mr. [redacted] in how to properly direct customers to seek a mortgage insurance removal.

Review: This is a Loan Modification complaint that took place in spring of 2014. Our mortgage company is Chase and that is also who we went through for the modification. We had a couple of late payments in 2013 and received packets of info containing the modification process. In spring of 2014 we were current but experiencing financial difficulties. We thought this modification process could give us some relief while we got back on our feet. We applied and were assigned a Customer Assistance Specialist [redacted] after a lengthily process we were approved for a forbearance plan. We signed the agreement to pay a reduced amount for 6 months starting in April ending in Sept. Then a balloon payment of the difference at the time is due. Or you are already in foreclosure per your agreement. Now I get to my complaint we followed everything to the T. Paid all payments on time paid balloon payment on time and signed out of the forbearance plan. Now 4 months later we are ready to pay off debt, go to bank to talk about our equity. We find out that our credit score has took a hit, every payment we made for 6 months while on the forbearance plan was reported delinquent because we were paying a modified amount. Plus a forbearance stays on your credit for 3 years. None of this was in our agreement in the fine print. Our plan was to always pay for a year on time so we could refi and pay off high interest debt. I called Chase Modification department she told me [redacted] has been assigned to a new case but it was her job to inform me of all this before we signed up for the program.... So sorry...Really my financial future destroyed for 3 years and all I get is,, um sorry. This should be illegal to sign up for a program and not have all the stipulations in black and white in the final agreement that you sign. This Modification/Forbearance is not helping people. They reach out to you in your time of need with a plan that is to good to be true. Without the help of family and friends we would have lost our home.Desired Settlement: In my forbearance agreement it states that "WE WONT ASSESS LATE CHARGES DURING FORBEARANCE PERIOD"now that it is over and done with and they have already made their reports to credit agencies and to the other department of the bank they wont go back and back up what they originally stated. I want them to reinstate my husbands credit, I want them to take off the late payments. I want Chase to take responsibility, we might be the little guy and mean nothing to them but it means everything to me
