PLEASE NOTE: Empire did NOT show up on the 17th as said on their resolution response. Empire automated call called me on that morning to say they were coming and had the same saying as they always do "As our contractor is on another job before yours, we can not guarantee an arrival time." I waited all day for them to show up and they never showed up. The next day, Tuesday 18th they showed up that morning. They came out and restretched the carpet and beat the nails down on the stairs. Thanks for fixing what I have been requesting for weeks, but I will not be using Empire again.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: Two main reasons. I was guaranteed by the salesman [redacted] that there would be no issues with me going forward and ordering the asbestos testing and that my money would be refunded. I said to [redacted] what if they do not complete the installation again and his response to me was "do not worry about it they will install the floor, I do not know why the first installer was worried about asbestos". My other reason for rejecting is that the first installer cut my carpet in the middle of the living room. I have tried reaching [redacted] who left me a voicemail asking for pictures but have never received a return phone call. The most previous time I tried the extension the voice recorder says the number no longer exists.
Sincerely,

We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding their concerns.Installation was completed on Thursday, March 23, 2017. We have also discounted the order for the inconvenience.
We appreciate the customer’s feedback. The squeaking the customer is hearing is from the laminate flooring the customer installed prior to the carpet installation. The laminate flooring has uneven end joint cuts which are rubbing on the transition, causing the squeaking. We purchased and installed the transitions at our own cost, however, the improperly installed laminate is rubbing against the properly installed transition. The carpet we installed is not causing any movement or noise. The laminate flooring must be repaired to stop the squeaking. We regret that we cannot service a floor that we did not install.
The local office...
offered to re-stretch the carpet at no cost to the customer. Further, they offered to reimburse the customer for a professional cleaning. Below is the portion of the inspection report regarding the soiling of the carpet. The customer states that the carpet has been professional cleaned, but did not provide receipts. Additionally, the customer advised the inspector that wear and matting were not the concern, rather the carpet buckling. As stated, we have offer to service at no cost. Soiling: In the master bedroom, there is an area approximately 2' x2' that is soiled. The inspector removed an affected tuft and was able to confirm that the soil in just on the tops of the tuft. Using distilled water and a bone scraper he agitated the affected area and using a clean white rag was able to transfer the soil to the rag. Using a black light on the affected spots the area did not fluoresce. He tested the pH of the affected area and it was 6. Claim History / Background / Physical Description Of Site & Occupants: The consumer Mrs. [redacted] stated that her carpet was installed in August of 2011. She started to have an issue with the carpet in August of 2013. Her issues are not wearing or matting, her issues are the carpet is not tucked into the gully, the carpet is buckled and there are soil spots on the carpet.

I am rejecting this response because:Simply giving back my deposit, which was my own money, does not make up for the time and money I lost that day of not working. I am a hairstylist. In the middle of my busy season, I moved around my appointments to accommodate Empire to come out to install my floors. I work hard to be able to provide for my family. There was no communication from the company, therefore I missed out onmaking $300 plus that day. If the company had communicated with me at the beginning of the day to inform me that my original installer had not shown up for Work that day, I could of moved my schedule around to accommodate a different day. Simply telling me that my deposit has been refunded and I had cancelled my order, is not fixing the issue at hand. I received HORRIBLE customer service from EVERYONE I talked to that day, excluding one woman, who was extremely nice. I work extremely hard for my customers and I expect, from a big corporation, to do the same with their customers. I do not think empire realizes the magnitude of how inappropriate the employees actually treated me. I have worked hard to rebuild my credit and to be approved for new flooring was a big deal for me. This is unacceptable and empire needs to hold their employees accountable for the inappropriate behavior that they have displayed. I have told every person of my experience that I have come in contact with and your company will not be used by them in the future. This whole situation was handled poorly and it still is being handled poorly.
Sincerely,
Jennifer [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: it has not been 8 months...
between the install of the two different colors. It was only 2 months apart from when the initial install occurred and when the follow up installer patched the repairs with the second color of grout, thus creating the issue. We reported it then and provided pictures but were told by the company to give it 6 months and call back if the colors still didn't match. We waited the 6 months and provided new pictures showing that it was still very obvious that there were 2 different colors of grout. It was two different colors months ago when we first reported it right after the the repairs were done with the wrong color and it remains two different colors. We have pictures from both time periods to verify this.
