Review: I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR WEEKS TO REACH YOUR COMPANY TO NO AVAIL. RE: COBY TABLET MODEL # MID1045 To Whom It May Concern:I am writing because all the telephone numbers I have had for you are no longer in service. I returned my THIRD tablet on May *, 2013 and to date have not heard one word from you. I think three months is long enough for you to send me a replacement. I am attaching a copy of the letter sent on May [redacted] when I returned the tablet and I have the receipt from UPS for the return as well as copies of the previous two letters regarding the same issue. I would like a call upon receipt of this letter or I will have to resort to other measures. One thing I will go on [redacted] and write a horrible review of your company and your customer service. I am sure there are other avenues I can also take. This is outrageous and I expect your prompt answer. On your web site it lists a number that is no longer in service and I can find no other number to call. You should be ashamed of your horrible customer service as you are a big company.Should you need further information, I can be reached at ###-###-####. My email is [redacted]Sincerely,Desired Settlement: Replacement as promised or refund, whichever.

Sincerely,

Review: I sent a tablet back to Coby because I was having a problem with the headphone jack. The tablet was still under warranty when the claim was filed and I sent it to Coby along with the $15 Cashier's Check that they requested for return shipping. Per the tracking number provided to me by USPS, the tablet arrived at Coby on 05/**/13. To this day I have not received the tablet and my emails to customer support (I've sent three) have gone unanswered. I have attempted phone contact with customer support, however I sit on hold for over 20-30 minutes and hang up.Desired Settlement: I would like my tablet returned, a replacement tablet of same value, or a complete refund of the purchase price.

Sincerely,

Review: My speaker system from Coby stopped working. It was out of warranty at the time and I was just going to throw it away, so I decided to open it up and see if anything was noticeably wrong. I identified that there was a resistor missing on the circuit board and emailed the company's tech support to inquire as to if this was a known defect and if there was a recall or anything. I made no warranty claim, I was just inquiring as to if this was a known problem and if they had an explanation or fix.

I received a response from a supervisor in Consumer Technical Support:

"1) Return the product to the below address since we no longer have any parts in stock. We will replace the product with a new unit.

COBY Electronics

Attn: [redacted]

2) Include a copy of this email.

3) Provide a Money Order for the return shipping of the new unit in the amount of $__15.00____, Make payable to "COBY".

4) Include in the note your full name, address, telephone number and email.

At this point I was very impressed by Coby's service and thrilled that they would make such an offer. Because of this, I decided to follow the instructions and sent the unit in, even though between the $15 money order and my own shipping costs ($15-$20) I was paying almost as much as it would cost to just buy another set of speakers.

In response I received a letter asking for a money order of $6 and copy of my receipt and proof of purchase to complete my warranty claim. This was a poor outcome for a couple reasons. First of all, I had already followed all of the instructions for what to send, including sending a $15 money order, so to ask for more money was absurd. Second, I was clear that I was not trying to make a warranty claim, but clearly this was being processed as one. I knew this item was out of warranty and I didn't have a sales receipt. I was just following the instructions per the offer of the tech support supervisor.

I assumed positive intent and thought the returns department maybe just didn't know how to process such a request as it was an extraordinary circumstance. I responded to the email with the tech support supervisor explaining the situation, and I requested either to have the unit shipped per our original agreement or to be refunded the $15 money order and the money I spent on shipping. I waited months and never received a response of any kind, a replacement unit, or my money order.Desired Settlement: I believe that I am due the $15 money order which I sent in as well as an additional $20 to cover the costs of me shipping the unit per their instructions, only to be met with a broken agreement on their end.

Sincerely,

Review: I sent my two tablets in for service the end of May. I didn’t hear anything so I called they told me they wont look at them for a couple weeks to call back. I called back a few weeks later they said they will send my replacements out and I will have them by July ** I didn’t get them. I been trying to call and it hangs up on me I sent a lot of emails and I havent heard anything.Desired Settlement: I want them to refund my money for both tablets, refund my money I paid for shipping and refund my money I sent them to ship them back.

Review: I purchased a Coby 40 inch LED TV from online merchant [redacted] on 10/**/12. The product has a one year warranty, available at [redacted] that states explicitly that, for TVs 40 inches and above, in-home service is to be provided, or a replacement is to be provided along with a prepaid shipping label to return the defective unit. On or around 6/*/13, the TV experienced problems with picture, sound, and power rendering it inoperable. A warranty claim was called in to Coby on 6/*/13. The representative said a replacement TV would be shipped to me in 10-14 days, followed 5 days later by a prepaid return shipping label to return the defective unit in the packaging from the replacement. When no replacement was received by 6/**/13, I called again to check the status of the claim. I was informed that no replacement would be sent, and that the defective unit would need to be returned for repair and return to me. The representative said a prepaid shipping label had been sent on 6/**/13 and that I would need to provide packaging at my own expense. When no label was received by 7/*/13, I called again. I informed the representative that I had received nothing in response to my warranty claim in four weeks, and that I believed Coby's proposed resolution violated the terms of their warranty. The representative, a [redacted] (last name not provided) claimed to be a supervisor, said no higher authority was available to speak to me, and claimed Coby was authorized to change the terms of their warranty at any time. To date, I have been without the use of the TV for four weks and face the prospect of being without the TV for the duration necessary to ship a prepaid return label, repair the TV, and return the unit, along with the expense of purchasing packaging suitable to ship a 40 inch LED television, all in clear violation of the plain language of the manufacturer's warranty.Desired Settlement: Per the terms of the warranty, I feel entitled to a in-home repair service or immediate shipment of a replacement unit. If neither of these two options explicit in the manufacturer's warranty are available, I propose the following acceptable alternatives: 1) Coby will pay for in-home service that I arrange myself through a third party service provider; 2) Coby will immediately replace the defective unit with a unit of comparable features and the same or greater retail value; or, 3) Coby will issue me a refund check for the full purchase price of $349.99.

Review: I bought a new coby kyros 8" MID8048-4 tablet in Dec.2012 though [redacted]. The device doesn't hold a charge. The item has a 1 year warranty, so I called the number provided (###-###-####). This number only gives you a message to email the company at [redacted]. I sent them two emails with no response. I have the original receipt, box (item came in), and the warranty card.Desired Settlement: I first would like the company to contact me back, so we can get a replacement soon.

Review: I purchase a Coby Kyros Tablet from [redacted] and soon after I purchased it the charger connect broke off inside the tablet. On Cobyusa.com it states thay you must speak to someone in customer service BEFORE you send your device in with the specified amount for retun shipping. My one year warranty will be ending soon and I have not been able to reach anyone in customer service in order to obtain an address to ship my device to for repair.Desired Settlement: I would like for my tablet to be repaired

Sincerely,

Bought two of their Car Dash Cameras for my cars from Groupon, one of them failed after 3 months. I reached their warranty partner Summit Warranty and got a very slow response. First reply came in after almost a week after my submission; 2nd response came 5 days later after I filed a complaint with Groupon.
It's a $40 camera but they would not pay for return shipping. They also asked specifically for a money order of $8 to cover return shipping. My shipping cost to them was $2.94. The warranty is also handled by Kenko Freight Systems in Cali and which doesn't have any resemblance of Summit. All and all it just a very bad experience because Coby doesn't cover return shipping, the money order cost another $1.25 to buy ($9.25) total cost, plus $3 of shipping, and last but not least it's shipping to a freight company instead of the warranty company stated on the manual.
Absolutely will not buy from Coby again nor recommend to anyone else.

Review: I bought my son the Coby Kyros MID7127 tablet for his birthday from QVC. The tablet never performed to satisifactory standards. One day it just stopped coming on completeley. I contacted Coby Warranty to submit a claim and was shocked that I had to send a $11 money order in order for them to ship the product back to me. It didn't even cost me $11 to ship the product to Coby. After shipping the product I never received a follow up about if the product was receieved or a time frame on a new product.

To date it has been 4 months since Coby received my tablet. They stopped answering phone calls in early July. You can not get in touch with the company on any number. I have seen over 100 complaints of the same thing happening to other customers. This company has taken peoples products and charged us for a item they never intended to return. I have contacted QVC, in which I bought the item from and they refuse to do anything. Not only is this company scamming customers but they are still selling products.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my product or my replacement as well as the money order I sent in with the product.

Sincerely,

Review: On November **, 2012 I ordered a Coby tablet from Walmart in order to give to my mom for Christmas. She had the tablet for one week and it completely quit turning on and working. It was still under warranty and I was not able to get it from her until April [redacted], at which time I received an e-mail from [redacted] at Coby after a conversation with him telling me the exact procedure to return the tablet and to send a $15.00 money order with it in order for them to ship back to me once they had replaced it. In the middle of June I called because I still had not received it and the gentleman that I spoke with advised me that I would receive it within two weeks. In September I still had not received it and tried calling the phone numbers given to me by the original person and it advised me to go on-line and contact customer service. I have sent 2 e-mails to date and still have not heard one word from them or received my tablet back or a refund. Today's date is 11-**-2013, nearly a year after I bought the tablet and still nothing, not one word.Desired Settlement: At this point I am really worried to have a Coby product returned to me in fear that it too will be defective. This is truly bad business on their part and to put this behind me I would like to have a full refund and my $15 back for shipping.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a Kyros tablet through Fingerhut for 336.XX, back in September 2012. After opening the product and trying to use it the screen kept freezing up on me. I contacted Coby and was given instructions on how to send the tablet back to them for repair. I was in and out of the hospital for a couple of months and I ended up sending the tablet back to them on April **, 2013. I did not receive a phone call / email / letter indicating they had received the tablet. I called them in May and was told there is a 6 - 8 week turn around time. I checked back with them again in June and was told that it should be sent out to me in July and that the rep would email me once he found out the definite status of the tablet. I never heard from him. I called back in July and was told that the team handling the tablet was off for a month and will be sending the tablet out to me no later than the end of July. In between all of this I have sent numerous emails asking for updates with no response. I sent them to the [redacted] and to [redacted]. The reason I have [redacted]'s information is because he responded to my initial email asking them what to do. So I called last week and the number that I had now says to visit their website for assistance. I called the office # and it goes to voicemail and says the box is full. The number I called is ###-###-####. I have also sent two letters to the office located in Lake Success with no response.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that my money be refunded to me because it has been almost a year and this has not been resolved. I have not been able to use this tablet and have purchased an IPad since then.

Sincerely,

Review: I bought a cd player last December and I've been sending emails to this business as follows:

My CXCD248 cd/tape player was bought 12/*/12. It immediately broke down (the tape player). I sent it back on 2/**/13. I then received a letter later on asking for shipping costs for its return to me. I never got it back nor did I get communication regarding this. After paying $28.99 and the shipping costs to get it to you and the shipping costs for the return, I’m out of money and my husband’s Christmas present doesn’t exist anymore. I’m very disappointed and would like even the broken item BACK.Desired Settlement: If there is a lawsuit, I want my money back. It is only $42.00 but I don't have the cd player and I'm out of the money. Is this possible?

Review: I sent my Coby tablet in to be repaired (it was still under warrenty) & they received it on 4/**/2013. When I called in to see the status of my tablet on 6/*/2013 they said it was sent to [redacted] for repair or replacement & I should be receiving it soon. After that call I tried to call again & all I got was a recording & have not been able to contact anyone regarding this matter. I have left at least 8-10 messages as well as e-mails & still nothing. They have my tablet as well as my money. Please help me with this matter.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would love to have this matter taken care of. Coby has to have a better way of communicating with their customers. This is no way to run a business.

Review: A tablet model no#. Mid-7036-4, S/N [redacted]. was send out on April **, 2013. to be repair at Coby Electronics located at 150 Knowlton Way. Savannah, GA 31407, for a loose wire where the electrical DC plug is located. I was tell by a customs service representative that it would take up to 6-8 week once they receive it. I been calling between the 6-8 week and for each time I was giving excuses after excuses about the product that I purchase from coby electronics. The first one was about the warehouse, that they receive the product but was unable to sent a replacement out because of a warehouse issues, seen then I have not receive the product that I pay money for as a grift to someone. Until now the number at coby have a recording message only saying to go on-line if you or having any problem go www.cobyusa.com for service or support. This seem to be Ludacris to me why coby electronic can't either give me what I pay for or my money back.Desired Settlement: Please no more excuses just my Tablet..!
